RFATo self-nom, follow the instructions on WP:RFA, please. I'd advise you not to self-nominate now, as your two mal-formed RFAs I had to revert will count against you, as well as your general inexperience. NSLE (T+C) at 00:47 UTC (2006-03-06) NumismaticsGreetings!! I'd like to welcome you to WikiProject Numismatics. Anything you see that can be improved upon, go for it, anything that is lacking add it, anything that is all together absent, please fill us in. There are quite a few knowledgeable people of both numismatics and wikipedia, in this little project, so don't hesitate to ask. Please be sure to read through the whole of the project pages, as we have just recently started using some of them. Again, welcome.
Which looks like so:
Project and Nor'eastersI had included them in the winter storm category, but they are definitely part of the project. CrazyC83 01:04, 7 March 2006 (UTC) PICTURE THINGSDUDE HOW DO YOU PUT THOSE LITTLE PICTURES ON YOUR USER PAGE? no..why do you think i hate republicans?
..dude... i hate you... you knowsaying i want to be g dubyas gold fish..... i need helpdude on the math homework, i dont get it. can u help me out? thanks Kirk's ReportHey, I wrote Kirk's report today on the page, you better read it ;) ---Weatherman90 16:56, 11 March 2006 (UTC) Re:PODI fixed it so it wont cover the whole page. When you bring something on to your page that is enclosed in these {{}}, you have to put this in: "|}" on the line after it, or else the formats will sprawl out on the page. I can't figure out why the Icelandic Empire image gets stuck on top of it though. Weatherman90 15:02, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
Good LuckI see you are working on the Tropical Storm Isabel (1985) article. Have fun with that, and good luck. Hurricanehink 22:53, 14 March 2006 (UTC) Re: Expedition HurricaneWhile initially the hurricane might seem like an easy article, hurricanes in that time period. Believe it or not, hurricanes from 1851 to 1872- the first year of the Monthly Weather Review- have very little information. I just took a quick look, and all that's out there is that it disrupted the Civil War attack. Just curious, are you done the Isabel (1985) article? I'll help with that if you want. Hurricanehink 00:12, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
PageI think I have performed the miracle that your user page needed. (When it goes on your page, it will look better. ) - Just delete everything up to my most common phrases and then paste this in. Also - did you want that pic of the day to take up the whole width of the page? Weatherman90 15:23, 12 March 2006 (UTC) MeMy name is Icelandic Hurricane. I am interested in genealogy, coin collecting, Icelandology, and Tropical Cyclones. I am also a Flu(a)tist. I am also trying to learn Icelandic, Lithuanian, Ruthenian, and Esperanto, but I am not very good at them. I edited without a username many times-particularly Hurricanes-since my discovery of Wikipedia, possibly before November 23 ,2004, most recently as User: 66.30.58.20. I created my user name on January 4, 2006. As of March 7, 2006, I have made 1001 edits. My 1,000 edit was on 07:47 March 7, 2006 on User:Icelandic Hurricane/Formulas. Email this user |
Pictures of hurricanes
Please mark the images of the storms precisely (with {{PD-USGov-Military-Navy}} for navy images, for example), and learn to use proper image formatting (use size restrictors, please.) Also, please LEAVE A LINK TO THE IMAGE URL when uploading photos, so their copyrights can be confirmed. NSLE (T+C) at 12:52 UTC (2006-03-20)
- I have deleted most userboxes you created as well as some images you created. Wikipedia is not a free web host, Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information, the unencyclopedic (and one was a copyright violation as well) images have been deleted. NSLE (T+C) at 13:39 UTC (2006-03-20)
- Yea, it can be a little annoying when someone uploads an image and you don't know if you can use it. The best way to upload it is uploading to the commons, IMO, so anyone on any Wikipedia can use it. When uploading, you should say, for example-
- From www.wherever you got it from.com, this image shows a hurricane on September 3, 2003 to the east of Florida. As a rule of thumb, you should only get pictures from .gov or .mil sites. That is the easiest way to see if you can use the image or not. Then, you can select for the licensing {{PD-USGov-NOAA}} or wherever you got it from. When using it on a page, you should preview it before you put on. If it is too big, be sure to use | and a smaller size, or just |thumb]]. Finally, no offense or anything but you're too new of a user to make that many userboxes or pictures of no purpose. Pictures are always an iffy thing, but its fine once you get the hang of it. Hurricanehink 15:56, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
- I can compromise - I'll restore the userboxes, then you need to substitute them onto your page. Then I'll re-delete them. NSLE (T+C) at 00:34 UTC (2006-03-21)
- Restored. Please inform me either here or on my talk page afer you've substituted them onto your page so I can redelete. NSLE (T+C) at 00:52 UTC (2006-03-21)
- Forget it, I'll subst: for you. NSLE (T+C) at 01:02 UTC (2006-03-21)
Re: Isabel
Actually, I was looking forward to you finishing the List of New England hurricanes page. I don't know much about those hurricanes there, and I can't wait until you really get working on that. Hurricanehink 21:48, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
White space
There's no need to add br's or huge of white spaces. If you want to avoid overlapping, use {{clear} } but without the space. Hurricanehink 22:34, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
Wait a second
You should probably talk about the fancy storm pics before you go forward with that. I personally don't see the use, mainly because the information is right in the article. If this is voted down, I wouldn't want you to waste your time on it. Hurricanehink 22:44, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
- I just think they add a lot of space. If the information that's in there isn't that important. The category and max winds should be in the article regardless, while the pressure isn't that useful. All of the other stuff; damage, deaths, and areas affected; should already be in the storm summary. In fact, most of it is already in the storm summary. If dates aren't in it, then they really should be. You should really talk about these sorts of changes at the Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Tropical cyclones so we can discuss their usefullness. I also notice you extended the button bars. The truth is, that may be another thing gone too, rendering your work as pointless if they are removed. Considering you started it, you should bring it up there and discuss it. It's nice to be bold, but too bold can be a problem. Hurricanehink 23:03, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
Death Pool
Hey again, I noticed you entered your name under the members section of my Death Pool, but I couldn't find where you put your ten picks, are they on there somewhere or are you still thinking them up? Weatherman90 17:13, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

yeah its africa and hes my favorite boxer go to panteraboxing.com
RE
no i wont, and i want to make a article i just don't know how
heres all i know, please start the article for me as Edison "Pantera" Miranda
HUNTER PUT THIS IN YOUR OWN WORDS, you know what i mean.
Although he has eight years of boxing experience, Edison "Pantera" Miranda has been a fighter his entire 25 year life. He was abandoned by his family at just one month old and spent the rest of his childhood working hard in the plantain and yucca fields of Tumaco on the southern coast of Colombia. By the age of nine, he was living completely on his own, with no parents or adult supervision, sweeping up for a street vendor in neighboring town of Buenaventura and by the time Edison was 12, he was already working a grown-man's job in construction. Just two years later, he worked as a cattle butcher in Barranquilla, where he would soon begin pursuing his dream of becoming a champion boxer.
With only five months of training and barely 16 years old, Edison fought his first amateur boxing match on April 17, 1997. The strength and passion that had seen him through the past 15 years became his greatest weapons in the ring – helping him to a first-round knockout against his first ever opponent. After only four more amateur fights, Edison found himself in the ring with the best fighters in the country, only to succeed with first-round knockouts again and again. He quickly rose to be the National Champion from 1998 to 1999 and was the Champion of the National Games in 2000.
152 fights later, Edison became a professional boxer, but his journey was only halfway over. March 2002 saw the promising young boxer's arrival in the Dominican Republic. Having been promised a shot at going to the United States to fight the top middleweight fighters in the world, Edison continued with what he's best at – fighting – both in and out of the ring. Struggling to make ends meet, left homeless and hungry by an unfair contract, Edison left the Dominican Republic and returned to Baranquilla, Colombia on December 24th, 2004. With the support of friends, he fulfilled his dream of making it as a boxer in the United States when he signed with Warriors and then had his first American fight in Hollywood, FL on May 20th of 2005. "I am God's warrior," Edison says, "I've always put my trust in Him, and he's always protected me. God is the reason I'm here today… and he's the reason I fight. Because I know it's His plan that I be a champion."
Edison's keys to success are discipline, faith and hard work. His training regimen includes only jogging, the stationary bike, jump rope, punching the bag and sparring. He doesn't lift weights, doesn't drink alcohol, and always goes to bed early. When asked about his greatest goal as a boxer he replies, "I want to be the kind of champion that helps others… to help children that were like me, homeless, with nowhere else to go. True champions are role models and that's what I strive to be."

There is no need for a picture of every storm!
IH, there is ZERO need for a picture of every storm in every season. Just letting you know, as too many may clutter pages up. A good example would be 2005 Pacific typhoon season - it has pics for major storms, but not every single one. NSLE (T+C) at 01:39 UTC (2006-03-28)
Your subpages
A lot of your user subpages fail WP:NOT, and have been listed for deletion. Just a heads up. NSLE (T+C) at 11:37 UTC (2006-03-28)

Can you not put fake things on the Spongebob ep. list? Pronoun 16:04 28 March (UTC)
Pictures
You do a good job finding pictures for tropical cyclone season articles. However, it would be best if you upload future pictures to the Wikimedia Commons at http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_page. Also please make sure that you place the pictures in the appropriate category, http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:2005-06_Southern_Hemisphere_tropical_cyclone_season for the current Southern Hemisphere season and other categories depending on strength and location. By doing so, you will be able to upload multiple pictures of each cyclone. Make sure you keep up the good work. Miss Madeline | Talk to Madeline 01:54, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
To upload pictures to the commons, you need to look at the left of your screen. There should be the logo of the commons, a box titled "navigation". Below the box titled navigation is a box titled "participate". It should have the following:
Participate
- Upload file
- Recent changes
- Latest files
- Random file
- Help
- Contact us
- Donations
To upload a file, click on upload file. This should bring you to an upload screen similar to the one for Wikipedia. You specify the source and also create the image page (for categories, a description etc). Once a picture is uploaded to the commons, it is usable on any Wikimedia project. It is placed in a page just like an image uploaded to Wikipedia.
Does this help? Miss Madeline | Talk to Madeline 21:17, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
- Oh, and if it's possible, please choose a smarter name, as it's not nice to have to use, for example, Image:20060319.1541.aqua1.x.geoir.17PLARRY.90kts-954mb-177S-1482E.jpg every time. NSLE (T+C) at 01:33 UTC (2006-03-30)
- In case you didn't know what I was trying to say, for example, Image:Mawar.A2005234.0110.500m.jpg could've been named Image:11W.MAWAR.2005.jpg or something easier to remember. NSLE (T+C) at 01:40 UTC (2006-03-30)
- Yes, the general standard of most image names is: Type Name (year).JPG. In this, "type" is hurricane, tropical storm, cyclone etc, "name" is the name of the storm, "year" is the year the storm occured in (usually in parenthesis). Miss Madeline | Talk to Madeline 02:03, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
