Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Binksternet (talk) 19:30, 18 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The MOS covers a lot of material and im not quite sure what part of it i got wrong. would you be so kind as to elaborate? I'm brand-new, but would like to learn. I need 3.14 (talk) 03:26, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Take a look at this diff showing my restoration.
  • First you see the difference between 13 and thirteen. You'll see at MOS:NUMERAL that the numeral 13 did not need any change.
  • Second you see the correct plural Whitneys versus your incorrect grocer's apostrophe version: Whitney's.
  • Third you see "airframe" versus "air frame". Aircraft have an airframe, one word.
  • At the "Operational history", you had the right idea. The first time the reader is told about the RAF, it should be presented as Royal Air Force (RAF). Your impulse was pretty good, to tell the reader what RAF stood for. Instead of reverting you, I should have replaced "RAF" with "Royal Air Force (RAF)".
  • Finally, you hyphenated one word of the name of the Women Airforce Service Pilots to make "Air-force", which is not how they spell it. Binksternet (talk) 04:33, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
thank you for the help. I try to do better next time.I need 3.14 (talk) 15:13, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
