Speedy deletion nomination of Sweatshirt (song)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Sweatshirt (song) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a musical recording which does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, and where the artist's article has never existed, has been deleted or is eligible for deletion itself. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for music.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. reddogsix (talk) 04:27, 23 June 2016 (UTC)

unblock me please
[edit]I LOVE YOU JACOB SARTORIUS XOXO (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
Orangemike blocked me because "Clearly not here to contribute to the encyclopedia". Which rule from the link he put did I break? I'm trying make a page for a notable person(Jacob Sartorius). I also made a page for a song. I would like to be able to add more information to them. ThanksI LOVE YOU JACOB SARTORIUS XOXO (talk) 03:03, 28 June 2016 (UTC)
Accept reason:
As the blocking administrator and three independent administrators have all agreed the block is not necessary to prevent disruption, I am unblocking now. I would strongly recommend you CLICK HERE and choose a username that is shorter and simpler. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 09:52, 1 July 2016 (UTC)
- Offhand I don't see anything that would be overwhelmingly problematic. The main thing that I saw that looked problematic was that they edited a draft and added allegations that Satorius was engaged in sexual misconduct with a fan and the sourcing just isn't there to justify including this in the article. However this looks like it was done in good faith and they likely weren't aware of how stringent guidelines are on that sort of thing. Plus it was done at AfC, which they seem to have done per the advice of 78.26 on their talk page.
- At the same time, I trust Orangemike, so I'd feel better hearing his opinion on all of this. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 04:40, 28 June 2016 (UTC)
- I can't look at this until this evening, but will make it a priority if you wish. 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 11:59, 28 June 2016 (UTC)
- I am at a loss to understand this block. I have looked at every one of your edits, and I have not seen anything at all to suggest that you are not here with the good faith intention to improve the encyclopaedia. One of your edits arguably might be considered to be unacceptable in terms of Wikipedia's policy on biographies of living persons, but that, from a new editor, would warrant a friendly message explaining why the edit was considered doubtful, not an immediate block without warning, which is justifiable only in exceptional circumstances. I am strongly inclined to unblock, but I will invite Orangemike to comment first, as it is possible he is aware of some justification for the block which I haven't seen. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 13:33, 28 June 2016 (UTC)
- I can understand the block (the user name, and edits one usually sees by editors with similar names gives one great pause, but I think unblock is warranted here. Plus extra careful watching of this user's edits. This account appears to be in good faith, with some ill-advised content created by a fan who has little but pop-culture as a reference. It seems the age group that would know about the subject seems to not care what kind of publicity is generated for their favorite celebrity/artist, if people are talking, it's all good. On the other hand, the draft is receiving an inordinate amount of negative editing from - not exactly new users - which does bring some concerns about good hand-bad hand editing. This editor has not used AfC for Draft:Jacob Sartorius, but since they're blocked they don't have that opportunity. For what it's worth, the person (a minor) has become notable as their song is currently on the Billboard 100. I don't think there's anything there you can build on, though. 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 23:23, 28 June 2016 (UTC)
- The username is just shamelessly over the top, and the BLP violation was pretty violative; but if some other admin is willing to unblock and watch the editor (preferably after a name change), I will not object. (I apologize for not getting back sooner, but I'm recovering from a triple coronary bypass.) --Orange Mike | Talk 17:09, 29 June 2016 (UTC)
- I'm willing to watch this editor, but I can currently only do it on a daily basis, not an hourly basis. 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 21:30, 29 June 2016 (UTC)
- Something that just crossed my mind is that this user is most likely a young person in their teens or tweens, given the username and the fandom. I remember when I was young and had access to the internet in my mid teens, I chose some usernames that would likely raise an eyebrow here since they weren't particularly sedate.
- To the editor: I'd definitely recommend reading over WP:YOUNG (a guidance page for young editors) and if/when you get unblocked, that you go through the training program WP:ADVENTURE. It goes over some of the basics and it's set up a bit like a game, so it's the most interactive of our various training pages. It won't take the place of someone watching over and guiding you, but it should help with some of the basics. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 10:46, 30 June 2016 (UTC)
I have reblocked on the basis of Special:Contributions/I LOVE YOU JACOB SARTORIUS XOXOXO. DrKay (talk) 15:53, 12 July 2016 (UTC)
