Your edit to Jimbo's userpage
I have reverted this edit of yours to Jimbo Wales's userpage. Although he was one of the instrumental figures in setting Wikipedia up, Jimbo is not very active here and certainly doesn't have 40,000 edits; he has barely one-tenth of that number. – iridescent 17:40, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
- My sincere apologies, I didn't read the requirements of the award properly, I will try to explain my accident caused, as I believe, from a combination of my myopia without glasses at the time, and the natural mistakes one can make after midnight.
- No problem – although you shouldn't really be giving out those "service awards" anyway. They're there to be self-awarded (unlike barnstars which are there to be awarded from one user to another); if someone doesn't have them on their userpage, you can generally assume they're not a fan of editcounts as a means of judging an editor's worth. – iridescent 22:49, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
- I thank you for the constructive feedback, wikipedia seems to be such a helpful place, for today my main focus will be on continuing to organise Jimbo Wales' barnstars. Is there something you can do to automatically sign your posts on talk pages? Or do you have to manually sign it each time. - I Grave Rob 22:59, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
- Depends what you mean by "automatic". If you sign with 4 tildes (like this ~~~~) it will automatically add your name and the date, but there's no way to make it automatically append it to the end of every post – nor would you want to, as quite often you'll be adding to or amending some existing text, where signing won't be appropriate. If you forget to sign a talk post, a bot will generally sign it for you, but don't rely on that. – iridescent 23:08, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks again, hopefully by day three as a wikipedian I will know all of these things and will not accidentally do another faux par for a long time to come. I Grave Rob (talk) 23:22, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

Your recent edits
Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 11:10, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
I think that {db-bio} was the tag you were looking for. :) You can find them all listed at WP:CSD. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 12:31, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
- I did go there and it does list {db-person}, I looked at db-bio first but then decided db-person seemed more appropriate.
- I double-checked- You were using {dbb-person}, alas. That extra b is what broke the tag. Just a typo... I didn't even know about db-person; maybe I need to take a fresh look at the list myself. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 12:35, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
- I thank you for my interest in my edits to the project :) Hopefully I can contribute more positively to the community. I Grave Rob (talk) 12:40, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

Help desk duplication
You duplicated a large part of the help desk in [1]. I have removed the duplicate. PrimeHunter (talk) 14:28, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
Adoption
I see you're looking to be adopted on Wikipedia. Based on your contributions, you seem to be a constructive, good faith editor and I would be happy to take you on. You look to be a net positive to the project, exactly what we need here at WP. Would you be interested? You can respond here, on your talk page (I'll have it watched). If not, no harm, no foul. ~ ωαdεstεr16«talkstalk» 18:15, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
- I would be happy to be adopted by you, I have seen you around and you seem like someone who is well-respected and could impart important information to a Newbie :). My sincerest apologies in advance if I don't respond promptly, my schooling takes up the majority of my time and 3/5 afternoons of the week are also taken with extra-curricular activities. The formal is in three weeks on the 14th of march so that also takes an afternoon for dance practice. I joined wikipedia as I was addicted to games such as Runescape and Maplestory and have decided to reform this year, wikipedia allows me the time to spend focused on a project where I might actually learn something during my time here.
- Good choice- you can learn a lot about research writing at Wikipedia, as well as a fair amount about what's good and bad in human nature. And, of course, there's the actual article contents, which are chock-full of learnin'. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 22:15, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
- Great - I will get back to you shortly. For the time being, remember: when you make an edit to a talk page, be sure to sign your username at the end of the statement with four tildes (~~~~). ~ ωαdεstεr16«talkstalk» 00:16, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reminder, I am just used to forum style discussions with posts that have the signature automatically at the end of them, or where each post is connected to the specific user. :) I Grave Rob (talk) 00:24, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
- Fair enough; I understand. Well first, I believe you are required to put this {{Adoptee|wadester16}} on your userpage so you're noted as "taken". (I'm just following the rules here). I'm currently on my way out for the night, but I will start you off here. Answer some questions for me (for your own sake, don't reveal personal information - it will be here indefinitely if you don't request its deletion). ~ ωαdεstεr16«talkstalk» 00:27, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Usurpation/bloglog
I have no idea - sorry. Agathoclea (talk) 18:06, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the advice, but the reason I put it as vandalism, is because the bio tag is about a real person, not a made up person, which is what the author says it is in the article. But I'll make sure to try to find more specific speedy delete tags in the future. FingersOnRoids (talk) 00:45, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
Removing a Tag
Ginger Snowman —Preceding unsigned comment added by GingerSnowman (talk • contribs) 13:51, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
Hi Rob thanks for acknowledging the mistake with the remove tag on Lorraine Platt. As a new user I see that the warning is still up on the article..Can you advise how that is removed?—Preceding unsigned comment added by GingerSnowman (talk • contribs) 13:51, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
Jimbo's Barnstars
Many thanks to everyone who has let me freely organise Jimbo's Barnstars but I feel I might have accidentally deleted a barnstar in the process, if you could tell me the name of the person who's barnstar I accidentally deleted in the process it would be much appreciated. :)
- Don't worry sorry, I realised the problem. I removed evilwendyman's smile from inside the real life barnstar and that confused me now.—Preceding unsigned comment added by I Grave Rob (talk • contribs) 13:51, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
AfC
Thanks for your help at AfC. Just a gentle note. We like to keep track of the articles created through the project by adding {{WPAFC}} to the talk pages. (We even do this for redirects.) Don't bother doing the ones you've already created, just a request for the future. Thanks and keep it up, Martinmsgj 18:03, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for all your hard work
Thanks for all your hard work on Proposed naming of Oprah Winfrey to Barack Obama's senate seat. SamanthaG (talk) 18:06, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Speedy tagging
Hi. When you tag an article for speedy deletion, like PRN Studio just now, it is a good thing to copy onto the author's talk page the warning notice which is provided in the template on the article page. That way he knows what has happened and is given some pointers as to why; otherwise when he sees the article gone he just thinks he pressed the wrong button and simply puts the it in again. If he's a new user with nothing on his talk page, I think it's a good idea to put some kind of welcome message before the warning, to soften the blow and give some more links to help him learn; some of the warning templates now do that automatically, but if not you can put {{subst:welcome}} ~~~~ or one of the others. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 10:56, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
- Good point. You'll find those here. ~ ωαdεstεr16♣kiss mei'm Irish♣ 23:17, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

Shared IP address
Hello, I got a message from you about me vandalizing wikipedia pages. I haven't. I work in a high school and use wikipedia often. Looks like it's a shared IP address. I do have a wikipedia account, but decided now not to log in so you see the IP number. Cheers. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 148.83.128.14 (talk) 13:30, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
Rollback
I have Grave Rob/Archive 1 granted rollback rights to your account; the reason for this is that after a review of some of your contributions, I believe I can trust you to use rollback correctly by using it for its intended usage of reverting vandalism, and that you will not abuse it by reverting good-faith edits or to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback and Wikipedia:Rollback feature. If you do not want rollback, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Good luck and thanks. –Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 13:43, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

The Original Barnstar | ||
Your contributions here have been excellent and I have been happy to be your adopter. You've become a valuable asset to the community and I'm glad you came aboard. You've got enough time and edits now to sport a service badge (specifically, the Burba). Find a copy of it I left below this barnstar and, should you so choose, wear it proudly on your userpage! Cheers! ~ ωαdεstεr16«talkstalk» 05:26, 29 March 2009 (UTC) |
Proposed merge of Proposed naming of Oprah Winfrey to Barack Obama's senate seat
Hello, I Grave Rob. I have proposed that Proposed naming of Oprah Winfrey to Barack Obama's senate seat be merged into Rod Blagojevich controversies or Rod Blagojevich. Please see the talk page to discuss the issue. Thank you.

Hello
Just curious, are you responsible for the funny and somewhat scary image appearing here? I can't seem to figure out where it's coming from and it's very creepy. Beach drifter (talk) 06:09, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
It's pretty hilarious, I've had a few beers and was somewhat concerned he was going to follow me to any page I navigated to, forever. Beach drifter (talk) 06:24, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
Re: ACC
I admittedly know nothing about ACC, but checking here, it seems the system does not recognize you as an account creator. I'm not entirely sure how to go about it, I am only a humble article builder and image handler :-), but you may want to try Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Acc. You may also want to contact User:FastLizard4 who is both a sysop and an account creator. Sometimes you just have to look for the right person... ~ ωαdεstεr16«talkstalk» 13:03, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
From an IRC chat earlier:
- closedmouth: wadester16: i think that diff was supposed to include his chosen name in place of §
- Ironholds: closedmouth: also its meant to be in the edit summary, I believe
Hopefully you can work from this. ~ ωαdεstεr16«talkstalk» 14:58, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
