Deletion of Hamid Jebelli page
[edit]Hi INeverCry,
I'd like to know why the page, Hamid Jebelli, was deleted. This person is an important figure for the new generation of kids in the very corrupt and morally polluted Iran. He deserves recognition. I would like to do anything in my power to contribute to the restoration of this page. Thankyou FYI this is the reason posted for the deletion: (A7: Article about a real person, which does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.15.38.42 (talk) 18:00, 7 June 2013 (UTC)
- This was deleted because it failed to show the notability of the subject using reliable sources. INeverCry 19:18, 7 June 2013 (UTC)
The deletion of Outgrow.me
[edit]Hi, I was very disappointed and sad to see that you deleted the article I created. Please see what I responded to User:Blanchardb on my talk page. As I said, this wasn't meant to be an advertisement, and with a few edits it could be made with more NPOV and therefore I ask to un-delete it. Thanks, Yambaram (talk) 17:57, 8 June 2013 (UTC)
Deletion of photograph onAlbert and Shirley Small Special Collections Library page
[edit]Hello. I do not understand your justification for removing the photograph I placed on this page, showing a typewriter. I am the photographer, and I believe I stated that clearly in the information requested by Wikipedia while creating the image file metadata. I do not understand whose copyright you believe is being violated. William Faulkner did not create the typewriter or make any marks upon its surface that might be said to be his intellectual property (indeed, he made no marks on the surface of the typewriter itself that I know of); therefore his literary estate does not hold copyright over the typewriter. The typewriter itself is a commercial product, rather than a creative work, and an image of it is not protected by copyright, though I am sure that there are patents over the technology of the typewriter, but those patents are not violated by the image of it. The company that produced the typewriter risks no loss of typewriter sales because I have placed a photograph of it on this page.
Please note the numerous photographs of typewriters on the Typewriter entry, which do not show permission from the company that produced the typewriters in question.
I request that you replace the photograph for these reasons. Thank you.Leofstan (talk) 18:51, 8 June 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Hi INeverCry! Since coming to Wikipedia a few months ago I have been patrolling recent changes and reverting unconstructive editing. I believe that I could be more effective in helping the project with reviewer and rollbacker rights. I have learned Wikipedia polices and have a record of successfully distinguishing good faith edits and vandalism. --Way2veers 04:59, 10 June 2013 (UTC)

Deletion Enquiry/Undeletion Request
[edit]I have been making edits of a very technical nature to pages with a lot of pharmacologic content. It seemed appropriate to simply write on my User Page (KMAnomalocaris) that I have degrees in medicine and organic chemistry; i.e., I'm qualified to make such changes. Can you explain why you wanted to delete this information? KMAnomalocaris (talk) 15:46, 11 June 2013 (UTC) I am baffled by your decision to delete the page I created about the Fishbowl Radio Network. This is the second time that the page was deleted and I insist on knowing why. I also insist that the page be restored. (By user SkeeterVT on June 10, 2013)
Please undelete the entry I wrote for hellstar the death elf. You flagged it as a hoax which, as a fictional character, isn't accurate. Stop hating. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.91.255.32 (talk) 12:48, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
I would like to request the undeletion of the recently deleted page on Amigo Loans. It was deleted under G4, but I don't believe the page meets the criteria for G4, as it was not substantially identical to the deleted version and also because the reason for the deletion (notability) no longer applies, as displayed by article sources, from mainstream broadsheet and tabloid press, covering the company. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Flingsby (talk • contribs) 08:04, 5 June 2013 (UTC)
- I would suggest you post this at Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion. INeverCry 23:53, 5 June 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for the reply, but I did read the "requests for undeletion" page before posting here and it was clear that I should contact you directly to discuss this: "If you feel an administrator has erred in closing a deletion discussion or in applying a speedy deletion criterion, please contact them directly. If you discuss but are unable to resolve the issue on their talk page, it should be raised at Wikipedia:Deletion review, rather than here." I believe that the page doesn't meet the criteria for speedy deletion. It appears that the page was previously removed on the grounds of notability, since which time the subject has received significant, regular and widespread coverage from reliable sources (news publications such as The Independent, The Mirror, The Sun, The Times, The Mail etc). Do you disagree that the subject is notable, therefore not meeting the criteria for speedy deletion under rule G4, due to the exclusion: "This excludes pages to which the reason for the deletion no longer applies"? Would appreciate your thoughts and if you agree, your undeletion of the page. Flingsby (talk) 08:50, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

Deletion Inquiry/Undeletion Request
[edit]Thanks for your advice. Prelert https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Prelert was deleted. We've made changes to reflect your feedback. All of those changes are in my sandbox https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:BrianS88/sandbox My question is that if this is satisfactory, where do I move the text from my sandbox to? I am not clear if I have to try to create a page with the same name or if you undelete it, I can then put the new changes in to make it live. Can you clarify the process? Thanks. Brian — Preceding unsigned comment added by BrianS88 (talk • contribs) 17:23, 12 June 2013 (UTC)
- I've made a slight adjustment to the tag at the top of the page. You now have a link that says "Submit the page!", which you can use to have someone review it and see if it qualifies to be in mainspace, and if not, to advise you on how to go forward. INeverCry 17:29, 12 June 2013 (UTC)
Please restore Stivasoft in my Sandbox or in my page section. I do not agree with the reason for deletion because this article has been written by example of one that has been accepted. There are a lot of resources and references to be added . I followed the instruction and actually have an example of an article that had been accepted before. I do not agree with the deletion, language is neutral and based on facts and company events and I would like to have it in my sandbox or my page in order to request feedback. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gadelichka (talk • contribs) 07:17, 13 June 2013 (UTC)Gadelichka (talk) 07:24, 13 June 2013 (UTC)

[edit]I would like to ask you about a deleted page Norconex HTTP Collector and the reason for deleting it? I made sure that the page doesn't have any promoting sentences. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kalhomoud (talk • contribs) 18:55, 13 June 2013 (UTC)
- The entire page is written in a promotional tone. The use throughout of "you" and "your" is inappropriately geared toward prospective individual users. Phrases like "While developers will see more benefits, the out-of-the-box features remain documented and easy to configure for non-developers", or "Free is good. Open-source: you do not like something, fix it and never get stuck again!" are blatantly promotional. You have to give a neutral account of the product without using the "you" and "your" angle, and without touting the benifits of using it. You also have to show the product's notability using reliable sources. INeverCry 19:05, 13 June 2013 (UTC)

Inquire About a Deleted Page
[edit]I would like to ask for more information about why my page "Allard Motor Works" was deleted? It was still a work in progress and a lot more information and source references were being added. There were already three source references on the page. I am not affiliated with the car company but value the additional information since it is a continuation of an older company now defunct. There are pages for numerous other comparable and currently operating car makers - Morgan Motor Company, Intermeccanica, etc. Could you give me some suggestions? I would like to correct the page so that it can be restored. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Summerlake (talk • contribs) 22:40, 16 June 2013 (UTC)

I didn't really leave much for you to do this time, what with finding my own pictures, but thanks for the fixes. As usual I look at the finished product and it's not quite what I hoped for, but at any rate I no longer worry about the obvious missing sections, i.e. Themes, Modern Criticism and so on. There are people who like doing that sort of thing: let 'em. I feel these days that it's enough if your edit leaves Wikipedia a micron better than you found it. I also don't want to get bogged down in a biggish new article for the time being, so expect a bit more brevity.
Like the cat. --Antiquary (talk) 18:39, 17 June 2013 (UTC)
- That's a damned good article! I've also come to loathe literary criticism over the last year or so, not that I ever liked it. Like Chekhov, there's the books I like, and the ones I don't like. I prefer covering the writers themselves, and letting someone actually read the writer's works to get an idea of themes, etc. I just read Oliver Twist over the past few days, and found it to be an excellent read. I've read about half of Dickens's novels, and I've yet to be disappointed.
I've been thinking of doing some work on this inspirational gentleman's article sometime soon. He's been a hero of mine since my younger days, and I still think he deserves to be in the hall of fame...but that's neither here nor there. I need new subjects, like baseball players, artists, historical figures...I also just got a book on the world's cheeses. ;) Maybe I can get up a few GAs and DYKs with somewhat less complex subjects. As you say, the criticism and themes kills me. Crabbe was a chore in those areas. INeverCry 22:01, 17 June 2013 (UTC)

Incorrect summary at deletion discussion
[edit]Please revert your closes at Wikipedia:Files_for_deletion/2013_June_7#File:Valley arts rj advert.jpg and Wikipedia:Files_for_deletion/2013_June_7#File:Rj certificate.jpg, as you didn't follow the proper procedure - you failed to follow step 2, "Determine whether or not a rough consensus to delete has been reached". The deletion criterion you used is not a summary of the consensus achieved at the discussion (none of the editors discussing the image talked about WP:NFCC#1, so it can't be used as the basis for deletion), and therefore this is an improper closing. If you wanted to introduce that criterion, you are expected to do it with a comment as a participant in the discussion (so that a different admin can use it later and other editors can discuss it), not with a close as an administrator. Diego (talk) 22:59, 18 June 2013 (UTC)

I'm not quite sure how the aims of the journal will go with changes made to articles by other editors, nor how it will fit with the original research limitations, but the license is fully compatible,. Whatever happens, though, I think we'll need to tag those articles like we did with the old Encyclopedia Britannica ones to highlight the original source, at least on the talk page and ideally on the article. Deletion of Mekaela Academies page
[edit]Jambo, INeverCry,
I would like to know why the page "Mekaela Academies" was deleted after more than 5 years after its creation. If it contained advertisement it was certainly not intended, unless someone has contributed to the content recently I am not aware of. Or, in other words, what would have had to be changed for the article not to be deleted?
Regards, Stefan SW2001 E (talk) 10:30, 23 June 2013 (UTC)
- I'm surprised that was around for so long without being tagged for deletion. The tone is very unencyclopedic, and sounds more like something you would expect to find on the school's website. The "history" section is written in a strange mixture of past and present tense: some entries use "were" and "was", while others use "are" and "is". There are also no inline refs for any of the information. This article needs to be re-written in a more factual, neutral tone, and in a tighter format. Take a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Schools/Article guidelines for a guideline on how to go forward with this article. I've emailed you a copy of the old article. INeverCry 15:47, 23 June 2013 (UTC)
Thanks, got your email. It helps because I did not keep a copy of the article. I will work it over next week, when done should I just start a new article or will you restore the old one? I would prefer the latter because it contains the logos, maybe you could just delete the contents while I am working on it? Regards, Stefan Stefan (talk) 18:19, 23 June 2013 (UTC)
- I would suggest working on it in a sandbox, like User:SW2001 E/Mekaela Academies and tagging it with {{userspacedraft}} so you can submit it for review when you feel it's ready. INeverCry 18:24, 23 June 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, you deleted the page The Reformation (album). Can you please restore the most recent incarnation of the page to my sandbox? Wikitam331 (talk) 14:19, 26 June 2013 (UTC)
- I'd rather not. With 5 prior deletions and 2 AFDs, I think it's time to stop kicking this dead horse. I would suggest moving on to a notable subject. Of course, you can ask another admin or file an undeletion request if you'd like. INeverCry 19:52, 26 June 2013 (UTC)
- Dude, all I want to do is save the code in the event that the subject does become more notable, then I won't have to type out that entire page all over again. Wikitam331 (talk) 20:19, 26 June 2013 (UTC)

BLP Deletion Request
[edit]Hello! I hope your mission went well last night :) I was digging through the BLP Deletion requests and found this one. It still has no references. Delete? Dusti*poke* 20:52, 26 June 2013 (UTC)
Now there's a mystery, or even two. Why did I upload those articles as a pair, and why am I straying perilously close to your territory? The answer is that I found a reference in a highly repected reference work (Grove's Dictionary of Music) to an opera by Bogatyrev called The Two Foscari, based on Byron's play, so obviously I bunged a reference to it into an early draft of the Foscari article. It soon emerged that he had no WP page, and that, though unknown in the West, he's very well known in Belarus. The next step was to cobble up a short Bogatyrev page, but as I was finishing it I noticed that no other source mentioned the opera, even those that gave pretty thorough lists of his major works. Googling "Bogatyrev Foscari" (without the quotes) got me no hits even when I did it in Belarusian and Russian. So, there's almost certainly no such thing. The two-sentence article on Bogatyrev in The Concise Oxford Dictionary of Music got one fact wrong as well. I begin to think that there's a lot of misinformation about minor Soviet figures in Western sources, whether from the lack of communication across the Iron Curtain or from official Soviet lying. You know more about this sort of thing – what do you think? --Antiquary (talk) 21:07, 26 June 2013 (UTC)
- 2 more nice articles. I've added a few little things to Bogatyrev; the be.wiki article says he died September 13, but I've decided to leave that out for the moment, as you've sourced the 2003, and I don't want it to look like the exact date is sourced as well. I've had alot of problems with inaccuracies in sources. The best thing I can suggest is to try and find sources from the late 90s and later, published in the US or UK.
I added the Hayez painting to the Foscari article, along with the 1st ed title page, which I was able to use for Cain as well. INeverCry 22:56, 26 June 2013 (UTC)
- I don't know why I didn't think of adding the Hayez painting myself. Good call on leaving Bogatyrev's DOD as is: if you look further down the be.wiki article in the Біяграфія section you'll see it's given as 19 September 2003, a date used by several other Belarusian-language sites, but who knows if they're reliable? --Antiquary (talk) 20:26, 27 June 2013 (UTC)

Deletion of Co-Optitude
[edit]I'm wondering why my article Co-Optitude was deleted if another article by the name of TableTop comes out on the same Youtube channel, Geek & Sundry but has been around since March 25, 2013? Youre2490 (talk) 00:36, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
- TableTop uses numerous reliable sources to establish the notability of the subject. Your article didn't. INeverCry 00:54, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
This has been tagged for speedy deletion for awhile, author works for the company and doesn't understand certain important policies. Can you take care of it? Dusti*poke* 01:31, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
- I've declined the speedy, as another editor has worked on the article to remove the promo tone and make it sound more neutral. The Business Week source is reliable, and with a quick search I noticed a CBS news source too, so I think notability isn't an issue. Looks like a bit of copy editing is needed though. my page was deleted
[edit]I recently created a page " Elucid Magazine " which was deleted because it found that the content was copied and pasted from a particular site. I wanted to let you know that the information was a bio to a company and was also written by me.
please let me know if you would like me to re write a bio or would you authorize the content that I added — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ankitrauniyar (talk • contribs) 20:07, 27 June 2013
- The copyvio is a problem (copyrighted material has to have a free license at the source, or permission for use through WP:OTRS), but the bigger problem is that your submission was written like an advertisement. Articles must be neutral and factual, and the subject's notability must be shown using reliable sources. INeverCry 20:27, 27 June 2013 (UTC)

Deleted Page Delta Controls
[edit]I understand the reason for deletion of the page Delta Controls, however, I had contested it, and would at least like an explanation. While I respect the grounds on which it was deleted, I was creating a page that is similar to many of the Delta Controls competitors listed on the Building Automation page. The list of Manufacturers on that page is comprehensive, but Delta Controls is a manufacturer and if all those companies meet the requirements to not be deleted based on Section A7, then Delta Controls should meet those same requirements.
If the article was something that needed to be improved, please restore it, and I'll make the necessary edits.
Thanks, Kmcrady (talk) 16:37, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
- The problem with this article is that you didn't cite any reliable sources to show the subject's notability. I've placed it in a sandbox for you: User:Kmcrady/Delta Controls. Once you've included reliable sources, you can submit the article to be moved back to mainspace. INeverCry 16:57, 28 June 2013 (UTC)

Deletion of draft page in userspace
[edit]INeverCry, I think you've made a mistake deleting my page User:N at Appcelerator/Appcelerator Platform. As I commented on the talk page before you deleted it, the page was the beginning of a draft for an article I intend to submit to articles for creation. If it had failed the process there or I had determined on my own that there were not sufficient reliable sources to make the topic notable, I would have asked for it to be speedy deleted myself.
As I understand it, one of the best practices for people with conflicts of interest is to submit new pages and edits to other editors rather than making them directly, and I'm perfectly happy to abide by this. I don't understand how that process can work without the ability to make drafts of new pages in userspace. As the user pages guideline states: "other legitimate uses of user space include (but are not limited to)...drafts, especially where you want discussion or other users' opinions first, for example due to conflict of interest or major proposed changes." —N at Appcelerator (my conflict of interest) 22:01, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
- Done INeverCry 22:07, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks, I appreciate it. I understand you're just trying to keep up with the massive amount of work that has to be done here, but here's some food for thought: even as someone who's been an editor in my personal life for years, it was rattling to have that page summarily deleted even after I had contested it on the talk page. If I had just been a newbie doing my best to adhere strictly to the conflict-of-interest best practices, I would probably have come away very angry and disillusioned with the Wikipedia community. —N at Appcelerator (my conflict of interest) 22:15, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
- I'm not a fan of employee editors. What's your basic motivation? Publicity and exposure. Whether you write a decent article or not, you wouldn't be writing it if you didn't work for the company. An alternative to that line of reasoning would be that you're writing the article because it's really such a great product that the world should know about it immediately, and you're neutral and disinterested. I don't buy it. But I don't make the rules, so carry on. INeverCry 22:31, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
- Agreed, I'm definitely not a neutral observer, and agreed, I wouldn't be working on this if I didn't work at Appcelerator. And to be completely honest, until I was asked to help on this I had very little sympathy for employee editors myself. But what are the risks of my editing? That I create a page that isn't notable? I'm only going to submit articles to articles for creation and not create them directly. That my inevitable bias in favor of Appcelerator creeps into my edits or that I remove criticism from the company's pages? That's why I'll only be proposing edits on talk pages, not editing directly. That people don't give my suggestions proper scrutiny because they don't realize my conflict of interest? That's why I created an "at Appcelerator" username for these edits, linked to a disclosure in my signature, and plan to mention my conflict whenever I get involved in a discussion about Appcelerator's articles. Do those safeguards (and the fact that you have every right to keep a close watch on on my edits) do anything to assuage your concerns? As I see it, all those barriers allow me to contribute to the extent that my interests align with those of the Wikipedia community and not further; that seems mutually beneficial to me. (I'm don't want to argue with you or waste your time; I'm just curious to know what you think since obviously you've seen a lot of this, while this is a new role for me.) —N at Appcelerator (my conflict of interest) 23:24, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
- I think the risk is that employee editors learn how to create articles that technically meet notability guidelines (often just barely) for products and companies that really aren't yet notable or important. Then what you have is more benefit to the companies and their products than to Wikipedia and it's readers. Alot of the resulting articles are glorified spam. If a company or product is really notable and important, an unconnected person will start an article for it. Having an employee do it smacks of publicity seeking to me. I think it also gives readers the wrong idea about Wikipedia when they see that a company employee has written the article they're looking at. My personal gut reaction would be to take such an article with a grain of salt, or skip it. INeverCry 00:08, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
- Well, if we're worrying about articles that technically are allowed but shouldn't be, we should improve the guidelines, not ban the editors who follow them. And even though most notable topics eventually get articles created by a volunteer, there's no telling how many years that might take. Our main product (Appcelerator Titanium) has had an article for four years now, but our company still doesn't. Reader distrust is a valid concern, and I don't think I could quibble with you or any for taking employee contributions with a grain of salt—but on the other hand I'd say that's just one of several reasons, along with vandalism and non-specialist editors (like me, when I'm editing personally), to treat everything on Wikipedia with a healthy amount of skepticism. —N at Appcelerator (my conflict of interest) 21:14, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
- It's still a question of motivation to me; the vandals clearly want to do damage, the non-specialist editors usually want to build something, no matter how clumsily, and the COI editors want to satisfy the boss. If it takes years for a decent article to be created, that's the natural progression of things, according to reader demand. The truly popular companies, apps, gadgets, etc, get covered pretty quickly in my experience. INeverCry 22:20, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
- I agree motivation is an important to keep an eye on, but on some level I feel like it may not matter. If a employee contribution, after scrutiny from neutral editors, ends up basically equivalent to what an uninvolved editor would have written (which I think is difficult but quite possible, especially when the company isn't particularly controversial), what difference does the motivation make? Obviously if it's not substantively equal, whether because of tone or important omissions, that argument doesn't apply. At any rate, it's clear you have well-thought-out reasons for your position, so I appreciate you taking the time to lay them out for me. —N at Appcelerator (my conflict of interest) 00:10, 2 July 2013 (UTC)

Evolving digital ecological networks
[edit]I just noticed that you deleted Evolving digital ecological networks on grounds of Wikipedia:CSD#G12 with respect to this copy of the article. I suggest you take a closer look.
In doing so, you are likely to discover that that version itself is copied from doi:10.1371/journal.pcbi.1002928, and quite rightly so, since this original (which I am embedding here again for your convenience) is licensed CC BY and thus fully compatible with reuse on Wikipedia. Indeed, this is not just licensed compatibly with Wikipedia, but this peer-reviewed article was written for Wikipedia, under the auspices of Wikipedia:WikiProject Computational Biology. For more information on this scheme, see this old blog post as well as the one I am drafting right now, or this slide from a recent presentation.
The fact that the article incorporated text from an open-access source was signaled both via {{OA-attribution}} and on the talk page. If any of this was not clear, I would appreciate suggestions for improvements (see also Category:Wikipedia articles incorporating text from open access publications). For background on how open-access content is reused on Wikipedia, see or get involved with WikiProject Open Access, which puts a lot of effort into making scholarly materials reusable and in engaging scholars with Wikimedia projects.
I would also appreciate if you could circulate this information amongst fellow admins.

Hello, I saw you speedy deleted the topic Tuned City. Imo this was done a bit too quick. I understand sound art related topics are niche (small audience) events, but this one was an international active event that took place in Berlin, Brussels, Tallinn (Estonia) and is active for 5 years already. The list of artists is relevant in teh field of sound art, although unfort not very present in articles on wikipedia due to the specific niche. There are enough sources and references on Google that confirm the relevnce of the festival. However most of those links are not in English but in German, Flemish or Estonian, since the festival took place in Europe.
- The Brussels event took place in le Botanique. As you can see on the picture in that topic not a small venue.
- The Tallinn event was part of the official program of the European Cultural Capital Tallinn 2011
- The Brussels event took place all over the city centre, see this map : http://www.tunedcity.net/?page_id=3586
- This list of high profile sponsors for the German event also shows it is not a small event: http://www.tunedcity.net/?page_id=25
- Here's an article in Gonzo Circus, the biggest music magazine in the Flemish language: http://www.gonzocircus.com/voorbeschouwing-tuned-city-brussel-27072013-30072013/
- One of the main organisations behind the festival are the people from the Amsterdam & Berlin based organisation Staalplaat
- Here's a German site about sound art that announces the Belgian festival: http://www.dock-berlin.de/?p=841
- Here one in De Morgen (the biggest Belgian newspaper): http://www.demorgen.be/wca_digi/agenda_detail/102/931510/Tuned-City-Brussels-Tentoonstelling-Installaties--Walks.html?locationId=
- The org published a book in 2008 that has been reviewed by The Wire (magazine). Source: http://www.tunedcity.net/?page_id=422
All by all, I hope this clarifies a bit more why I started this topic. Can you restore the article and in case you need more references and sources tag it with a label, so that I can improve the article?
Kind regards, Les Peuples des herbes (talk) 20:21, 1 July 2013 (UTC)

I just received notice that this article was nominated for speedy deletion, when I went to contest the deletion I see that it had already been deleted. [edit]Hi. Regarding the change you made on the aforementioned article - thank you. I had attempted to place a template {{unreadable}} or really try it out on the article and once I tried and realized it did not work, in my pursuit of trying to find an appropriate template, I forgot about that post. I was trying to comment on the incomprehensible posting of Maxim Gorky's summary of the text, so I am really looking for a template that can either be posted for whole articles or sections of an article (where appropriate) that suggest that the verbiage expressed is linguistically incomprehensible. Do you happen to know of any templates that would achieve that statement? I am familiar with Wikify but that is too generic and really applies to format issues probably much more than expressive issues. If you can make any suggestions or know of any templates such as what I am referring to, that would be very helpful, as I frequently come across pages that I cannot get back to (for lack of time or resources) but need attention from someone. In particular, I see this most frequently on Chinese topic pages or to a lesser extent (as here) on Russian pages, where all of the references used are in the Russian language or on the Chinese articles, in the Chinese language, which is neither useful, citable or in many cases, the information being asserted cannot be contested because we cannot read the source of its citation because of its being given in an unreadable language on the English Wikipedia. Do you also know of a citation or template that can be used for those indiscernible moments? Thank you. Stevenmitchell (talk) 04:09, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
- I've helped the author of this particular article clean up quite a few articles, such as Nikolai Leskov. The author, Evermore2, has 6 DYKs here, and many FA and GA articles on ru.wiki. I'll eventually fix up and maybe expand this one. I understand what's being said, but I guess it takes an expert at 19th century Russian lit. ;) As for a template to tag these with, I don't know of one. INeverCry 23:12, 5 July 2013 (UTC)
- I am the guilty party, Steven, sorry for having provided the text that's offended you. Should have given more thought to the Gorky's quote. His style of writing is quirky, translating it is a real challenge, for me, anyway. I've changed the bit slightly, so hopefully now it looks better.--Evermore2 (talk) 14:16, 8 July 2013 (UTC)
Don't get me wrong, we're all guilty of this in varying capacities, but there was a minute between article creation and nomination. I always find it hard to look at the timings when I'm deleting (cause it's really easy not to), but I think we've got to give new editors a chance! At least leaving them a message.
Again, all completely guilty of the same crime. That one just made me sad to look at. PanydThe muffin is not subtle 20:48, 6 July 2013 (UTC)
- Speak for yourself. Did you look at the actual content? It's one lumpy looking sentence about an unheard of "rapper", and might even be a complete hoax. I don't feel at all guilty or sad about getting rid of garbage like this. INeverCry 22:34, 6 July 2013 (UTC)

- Less reactionary reply - Did you yourself look at the actual content? The article made a reasonable claim of significance ("has many hit singles across Africa") - which may well have been a hoax, or factually incorrect (I can't find anything to support it) - but - there's no way in heck that you could have exhausted all levels of enquiry, or have made a reasonable decision regarding whether the at-face reasonable claims were enough to warrant an A7 deletion, within less than a minute. This is basic stuff. Regardless of which, your tone is very much one that goes against everything we stand for with regards to interactions. I understand that you're new, and that some of the things you see as an administrator day in and day out can callous you to the basics, but this is important. This is fundamental. We're supposed to be the caretakers who look after editors, work with editors, and are beholden to editors. If those types of attitudes prevail we become 'above' editors. And we're just not.
- Furthermore, this was the editors first and only edit. I am sure that this could have been prevented with some patience and dialogue. Let's welcome these people into the fold, rather than chastising them away! PanydThe muffin is not subtle 13:09, 7 July 2013 (UTC)

In addition to Panyd's excellent points on editor retention, I would ask you to think about how endorsing (by deletion) the deletion of an article which patently didn't satisfy the A7 criterion, and describing the good faith edit which produced it as "garbage" would have affected your RFA. Truth In Action Ministries
[edit]Good afternoon INeverCry,
I just wanted to check with you why you deleted my page Truth In Action Ministries (TIAM). This Ministry was formerly known as Coral Ridge Ministries (CRM) and had a page on Wiki. But that page was falsely redirected to Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church. Though both have been founded by D. James Kennedy, they are not affiliated.
I also understand that my article was somewhat short, but proper research takes some time and I wanted to correct the obvious mistake to think that Coral Ridge Ministries and Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church are the same.
I you would please be so kind and undelete the article and give me some time to expand it, I would highly appreciate that.
I am also aware that people affiliated with an organization (as I am with TIAM) are to be very careful as to what they write about their own organization, so it doesn't seem like a self-advertisement, as well as what they are writing about their competitors. Later I think is very little risk, since Christian organizations normally don't compete with each other, but rather work hand-in-hand.
I am awaiting your response. Thank you for your time
May God Bless you.

- The majority of the article is promotional and unacceptable. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a place to further the aims of a ministry. Only the history section would be at all appropriate as an article, but reliable sources are needed to demonstrate notability. You need to write a neutral, factual article, which is very difficult with a religious subject and a conflict of interest. I've emailed you a copy of the deleted article to work on. INeverCry 22:48, 8 July 2013 (UTC)

- The page you're pointing to needs some cleanup, but has a number of references and wikilinks to other articles about a specific connected company (France Télécom) and a notable involved person (Serge Soudoplatoff). The page you created has one reference and no links. You need to write a factual, neutral, encyclopedia article, showing notability using reliable sources. In the end, I'd suggest you focus more on what you're doing than on other articles by other people. INeverCry 05:03, 10 July 2013 (UTC)
Inappropriate deletion, many reversals.
[edit]Please explain your deletions. Simply deleting w/o explanation when there are opposing views is inappropriate. For example, please explain: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Possibly_unfree_files/2013_June_30#File:Catawissa_Bottling_Moxie_Bottle.jpg --Elvey (talk) 20:05, 10 July 2013 (UTC)
Also your many deletions on commons of Moldovian stuff need reversals, as FoP now applies, as I've noted there.--Elvey (talk) 20:05, 10 July 2013 (UTC)
- What you call an opposing view is just conjecture. I deleted this as per consensus; the packaging artwork is copyrighted. The 2 delete votes make the reason for deletion quite clear, and so I left the PUF to be closed by AnomieBOT, rather than manually closing it and repeating the delete votes and nomination rationale. As for the Commons issue, I'm sure the deleted files will be restored some time soon. [edit]Hi, I'm just querying the deletion of the article on Tetsudo. Not that it has been deleted, just that I'd like a bit more details on why.
Now, I was figuring it'd be a tough sell as far as notability was concerned, and that was flagged up in the review, so the article getting deleted for that was always a possibility. The thing is, apparently you deleted it for for G4 (Recreation of a page that was deleted per a deletion discussion).
Looking at the deletion logs, the last two versions were deleted for copyright violations. That wasn't even something that was flagged when the article was reviewed, and was something I was aware to avoid when I wrote it.
So, my version has been deleted for being much the same as the previous deleted versions. But the previous versions were deleted for something that did't apply to this one.
I'm not arguing against the deletion, as I said it was always a possibility, I'd just like a bit more guidance as to exactly what I fell foul of. Could you let me know, please?

Hi! I'm currently trying to figure out how to handle the crosswiki damage from the above case, where basically people paid a company a lot of money to get a Wikipedia article written about them. It may be different people meatpuppeting but it seems to be one company, so we treat them as one. I've made a summary of the crosswiki part at m:User:Rschen7754/Reports/Morning277 of all the blocked accounts on this wiki, whether found by behavior or CU. What would be the best way to handle this? Commons got a lot of the impact - there's a lot of corporate logos and personal photos that I fear are copyright violations without any proper OTRS ticket or fair use (which can't be done on Commons anyway). Also, my guess is that you want to block all the accounts and CU for any more that pop up.
What's the best way to handle this? I figured it would be better to ask than dropping this on the CU request page with no explanation --Rschen7754 11:43, 19 July 2013 (UTC)

Normally I'd perform a non-administrator close for the AfD thread, but since I contributed to the discussion there, can't do it. Northamerica1000(talk) 08:43, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
Cross-wiki blocking
[edit]Some time ago, you blocked Commons:User:Tu Real Socio. Someone's now asked (bottom thread in this revision of WP:AN) for action against this user here at en:wp, based partially on the user's actions at Commons. Could you check the situation and take any necessary actions? Nyttend (talk) 18:23, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
- Commented there, and blocked User:Tu Real Socio here. INeverCry (talk) 18:50, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks. I wasn't aware of the reason why you said they were the same; if I'd realised it was CU data, I wouldn't have taken your time. Nyttend (talk) 19:50, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
A page you have written has appeared again!

Deleted Page Exosite (company)
[edit]You're listed as the user that deleted the page Exosite (company) with the reason that the page was created by a banned user, that as far as I can tell was banned because they were getting paid to make pages. I'm an employee at Exosite and I'm not aware of any being paid to create this page (but I was not directly involved in it's creation). I am not an expert of Wikipedia's rules, but we are certainly not intending to break any of them. Looking through what's left of various bits of history it looks like all User:Hoomanhaz (Listed as a sockpuppet of User:Morning277) did was move our page from Exosite to Exosite (company). Is it possible to un-delete our page or can I recreate it without getting myself banned? Azdle (talk) 22:25, 22 July 2013 (UTC)
- When the above blocked user moved the page it was just a redirect. Another blocked sock, User:SobontueoB then created all the content, turning it into an article. The deletion was justified. If you wish, you can create a new article any time you like. INeverCry (talk) 17:18, 23 July 2013 (UTC)
i don't know why you speedily deleted this page. As these parliamentary elections have started, & actual voting is on 31ts. July 2013. Please research, before you delete,& from briefly seeing other talk contributions, its like this is not the first time you deleted work, which has taken hours to do ! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ekhaya2000 (talk • contribs) 11:32, 23 July 2013 (UTC)
- Feel free to re-create the page, but you may want to start with something more than a bare title. It might be better for you to work this up in a sandbox, so that you have material sourced with WP:RS to start with. As for your remark about "other talk contributions", I've done more than 25000 deletions here, so a few mistakes are of course unavoidable. I do my best. INeverCry (talk) 17:25, 23 July 2013 (UTC)
A Barnstar for you!

Amazing work, seems like you are always the one to delete pages here, files at commons, and to complete repetitive admin tasks. Keep it up. Surfer43 (talk) 02:51, 24 July 2013 (UTC) |

Eric Corbett
[edit]What consensus did you see anywhere to terminate Eric's block early?—Kww(talk) 22:53, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
- Discussed at WP:AN#Eric Corbett unblocked—Kww(talk) 23:04, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
Hi INeverCry - I've restored the block of User:Eric Corbett for the time being. There is a presumption that consensus has not changed until it is shown otherwise, so your unblocking went against the consensus at the previous AN thread. If the new thread (linked by Kww above) shows this consensus has changed then your unblock should be restored shortly. Regardless of the eventual outcome, please do not modify blocks resulting from consensus at a noticeboard without discussion. Doing so can be considered wheel warring. Let me know if you have any questions, Prodego talk 23:50, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
- The block was put in place before the discussion. How can it be a "result"? Block first and ask questions later, but don't unblock until there's days more of discussion. Seems convenient for the blocking interest. INeverCry 23:52, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
- The consensus was not to change the original block. Undoing my block restoration has clearly crossed the line into wheel warring, which will lead to an RFAR. I strongly encourage you to reverse this action. Prodego talk 23:54, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
- I hate to say it, but that is wheel warring for sure... you may want to reblock, or ArbCom will most likely desysop you. :( --Rschen7754 23:56, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
- I'm not going to have my name seen in Eric's block record with anything but "unblock". A desysop would be unfortunate, especially seeing that I average several thousand log actions per month, and do a huge ammount of work here. You have to do what you think is right though, and I've done so. INeverCry 00:11, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
- I know, I'm just saying this because I don't want to see you desysopped, and I fear that ArbCom will, because wheel warring is generally an automatic desysop, no questions asked. :( --Rschen7754 00:16, 25 July 2013 (UTC)

RFAR
[edit]Conscious and intentionally yanking on the wheel to get your own way only leads to one place: Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case#INeverCry.—Kww(talk) 00:13, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
ArbCom
[edit]The section titled "Arbitrators' opinion on hearing this matter" is only for ArbCom members. If you wish to respond to an ArbCom's comment,[2] it should be placed in your own section.[3] Prepend "@NuclearWarfare" if you wish to make it clear that your response is directed at a particular ArbCom member. An ArbCom clerk will probably move your post to the correct section, but you can save their time by moving it yourself. Thanks and good luck. A Quest For Knowledge (talk) 02:11, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
- Nevermind, someone has already moved it.[4] A Quest For Knowledge (talk) 02:13, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
- Yeah, AQFK explains pretty well how comments are done in that page. Just to note that although I am a clerk, I did the change in my editor capacity, given that I recused from that request (I am your RfA nominator, and thus I'm biased). — ΛΧΣ21 02:15, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks. I've had more than enough. See you down the road. INeverCry 02:54, 25 July 2013 (UTC)

Seriously?
[edit]I'm very sad to see you go. You were a great admin, you stood for what you thought was right - and the fact that you're being thrown under the bus is disgusting. I hope to see you back in ranks sometime soon. Dusti*Let's talk!* 03:17, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
My comments
[edit]INeverCry, I am sorry that I felt the need to speak plainly with respect to your admin actions today. I've been observant of your work on Wikipedia, and those actions seem very out of character for you; I've always thought well of both your editing and your admin actions. People burn out, but those who are most dedicated to the project keep pushing themselves until something breaks if they feel there's nobody else to take over the tasks they've put a lot of effort into. I suspect that this is what has happened here. I do hope that you'll continue with the project, although you might want to take some time to decompress. I don't normally "discuss" an arbitration request directly with a party on their talk pages, but I thought I should let you know that I really wish things hadn't gone this way. Best, Risker (talk) 03:24, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
