Remember to always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes (~~~~)
at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to this (your talk) page, and a timestamp.
To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own private sandbox for use any time. Perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Mekaela academies. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Mekaela Academies
[edit]I wanted to change the articles header to "Mekaela Academies" with one capital letter for each word. Now it stands at "Mekaela academies" with I found rather ugly. SW2001 E (talk) 18:48, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
Mekaela Academies
[edit]I edited this page in a hurry (my fault) and spoilt the article's header to leave the word "academies" without a capital "A". How do I change that? SW2001 E (talk) 18:49, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- I replied on the article's talk page. I'll move it for you if you want. GlobeGores (talk | contribs) 19:36, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- I've tagged one of the articles for speedy deletion to make way for the move. GlobeGores (talk | contribs) 19:38, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- I could not find a "move" button at the top of the article, but I found a deletion request comment. I do not understand why the information was not verifiable or reliable?!? I would be very happy if you could sort this out for me. SW2001 E (talk) 22:14, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
Mekaela Academies
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Mekaela Academies, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}}
to the top of Mekaela Academies.
- I have converted your lowercase title to the uppercase naming, but the article still requires sources demonstrating its notability ot it should be deleted from Wikipedia. —dgiestc 21:40, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the help. However have not understood why the article should be unfit for publishing. Would links to newspaper articles or TV footage be considered as reliable sources?
- Things published by mainstream media not affiliated with your group would be great. Things like press releases, not so much. —dgiestc 22:46, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- I added a few links to the article, but apart from ZDF and Hamburger Abendblatt that can hardly be called mainstream media. We have stories which covered the project in German yellow press and on in a UK paper, but none of them is available online, we just have the scans. I got the point, though.SW2001 E (talk) 23:03, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- While having online versions of your sources is nice, it is not required. You can still cite offline versions. For more information, see Wikipedia:Citing sources. —dgiestc 23:20, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

No objection to the deletion of Amina_2007_e.gif because it is our old logo, the new one has slightly altered colours. SW2001_E

Mekaela Academies - a frustration?
[edit]I have seen your frustration at the talkpage of Jax. Sorry to hear about it but I guess you are talking about "Mekaela Academies". What I can suggest to you is to use Wikipedia:Articles for creation, with a thorough check before it being launched. You can use Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion to request the deleted article to be "userfied" or in normal language: move to your own article space. With the article in your own userspace you can work on it without being bothered by deletion procedures. I do strongly advice to use Wikipedia:Adopt-a-user, as a coach can help you prevent many pitfalls. The Banner talk 14:31, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
The admin who deleted my article qualified it as being promotional. That may indeed have been the case, i.e. the underlying tone may have been too enthusiastic. I have started to re-edited the article in my sandbox and attempted to make it more matter-of-factly. There is still some information missing which I shall add, but by and large that article pretty much describes what Mekaela Academies is all about. Stefan (talk) 15:04, 25 June 2013 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of File:Amina 83x146e.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:Amina 83x146e.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. We totally agree with Wikipedia's policy of not using protected images in its articles, but "Amina" is a copyrighted logo of Watoto e.V. which founded Mekaela Academies and would like this logo to be displayed in the schools' Wikipedia article. The question is, how do we achieve that? Stefan 07:58, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
Donating copyrighted material
[edit]Hi there! Copyrighted images can be donated to Wikipedia by licensing them for free use. Although you provided a free license, there was no proof that you were the original copyright owner. The image appears on Mekaela Academies' official website, which has a copyright notice at the bottom of the page. The easiest way to prove that the image is free to use is by explicitly saying so on the Mekaela Academies' official website. This notice must state that the image is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-Sharealike 3.0 Unported License (CC-BY-SA) and the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) (unversioned, with no invariant sections, front-cover texts, or back-cover texts) or that it is in the public domain.
If you do not wish to place a notice on the website, you can alternatively send an email to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org with a declaration of consent. It's recommended that you use Wikipedia:Declaration of consent for all enquiries. Once you have sent the email, you can then upload the image to the Wikimedia Commons. Be sure to place {{OTRS pending}}
on it. Someone will reply to your email, indicating whether the content and your license is acceptable and update the page to indicate that the confirmation of the license has been received.
Finally, if you are not the copyright holder and cannot release the rights on the image, you can still upload the logo to Wikipedia with a fair use claim. Usually, Wikipedia allows images of copyrighted logos for the purposes of identifying the organization they represent. To do this, use Wikipedia:File Upload Wizard and select the option "This is a copyrighted, non-free work, but I believe it is Fair Use." and follow all instructions.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask them on my talk page. Regards, Michaelzeng7 (talk) 23:40, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
