Tuned City is an international music and arts festival focused on sound art, sound installations, experimental musical instruments and field recording. The main organisor of the event is Staalplaat in collaboration with local organisations. The festival takes place irregularly and everytime in a different city on multiple locations throughout the whole city. Events have taken place in Berlin (2008), Nürnberg (2011), Tallinn (2010/2011) and Brussels (2013).
Tuned City Talinn was part of the official program of the European Cultural Capital Tallinn 2011 and is co-produced with MoKs – Center for Art and Social practice and is supported by the Tallinn 2011 Foundation, Estonian Cultural Endowment, Estonian Ministry of Culture and EC programme Culture. The Brussels event was co-organised by Q-O2, WORM and Aifoon and held place at The Botanique (the main info point) and several other locations. Other organisations that contributed to the festival were Erasmus Hogeschool RITS/Radio, Sint Lukas Transmedia. Q-O2 hosted two international workshop groups from the Masters of Artistic Research program (MAR) from the Royal Academy of Art (KABK), The Hague, Netherlands and The Braunschweig University of Art (HBK), Germany.
