Lead Section Size

The lead section of a Wikipedia article is the section before the first heading. The table of contents, if displayed, generally appears between the lead section and the first subheading.

Rule of thumb: If a topic deserves a heading or subheading, then it deserves short mention in the lead.

The lead section should contain up to four paragraphs, depending on the length of the article, and should provide a preview of the main points the article will make, summarizing the primary reasons the subject matter is interesting or notable. The lead should be capable of standing alone as a concise overview of the article, should be written in a clear and accessible style, should be carefully sourced like the rest of the text, and should encourage the reader to want to read more. The following table has some general guidelines for the length of the lead section:

< 15,000 characters medium size > 30,000 characters
one or two paragraphs   two or three paragraphs   three or four paragraphs

Speedy deletion nomination of Gilbert Eugene Peters

[edit]

Hello Hurungudo,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Gilbert Eugene Peters for deletion, because it seems to be an article that was previously deleted by a consensus decision.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Image without license

[edit]

Unspecified source/license for File:CCAZ Logo.jpeg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:CCAZ Logo.jpeg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: Once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 12:00, 17 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:CCAZ Logo.jpeg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:CCAZ Logo.jpeg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, bot-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:02, 19 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Rachel J moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Rachel J, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. I took a look at the version at the time of the AfD and the most recent re-creation. Yes, you added additional references that were not present when the AfD happened. However, I am not convinced that these references are enough to overcome the concerns raised in the deletion discussion.

My suggestion is, rather than recreate the page, you need to discuss what Nyathi has done since the AfD to become a notable individual and/or to discuss how these are new sources providing additional, in-depth coverage that does not come from a press release. —C.Fred (talk) 19:53, 22 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Mbeu

A tag has been placed on Mobarz Kidifa requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Editing with a possible conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Hurungudo. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the COI guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.--SamHolt6 (talk) 22:04, 31 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please answer the inquest above at the earliest possible convenience, preferably without making too many more edits. Thank you. SamHolt6 (talk) 22:52, 31 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

SamHolt6 Thank you for the message, i really appreciate it. I read COI policies before and am aware of Wikipedia's position on that. However i do not have any connections to the subjects. I just do my research and i write, i am focusing on Zimbabwean subject mostly because here we have very few contributors who are consistent so i try to cover as much as i can both organisations and persons who are notable. You find some notable individuals here may poor online press coverage but i will be knowing very well that this person or company or event (especially awards events here) is notable but then no one will care to write about them so i then try to research as much as i can online or listen to tv and radio interviews for example.

Some existing articles have poor coverage so i try to research more and add the info for example if you look at Net*One Zimbabwe article it is very poor and misinforming with old information without any references so as soon i finish research i will improve it. There are several pages like that especially local politicians or office holders, you find that articles about them will be mentioning old positions they nolonger hold, that is how behind we are here in Zimbabwe so am trying to cover that gape. That is what i usually do without any contact of the subject but at my own personal time so that Zimbabwean subjects are properly covered on Wikipedia.Hurungudo (talk) 04:51, 1 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reasons left by SamHolt6 were: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. This submission is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: Rejecting; draft creator and submitter has been blocked for undisclosed paid editing, and this article has already been deleted from the mainspace three times.

Request reason:

Good morning, i am puzzled with how this action was reached at so quickly but however we are here now and i always appreciate your intentions of keeping Wikipedia clean, it is good i love that. I think this issue i was treated unfairly in the sense that after SamHolt6 questioned if there is a possibility of paid editing in my recent contributions and i think i responded clearly with a clean conscience expressing that i do not get paid, the next moment i noticed that Doc James blocked me of which i think this issue was not well discussed, i was not given a chance to be listened to but i appreciate Doc's intentions as i know they are not personal but for clean wikipedia. However, i am kindly asking to be unblocked, if it is the Edd Branson page i wrote with language that seemed like advertising, if it is what may have caused the suspicion i think it can be properly created and mistakes can be corrected. I am someone who works well with other contributors, i have respect you can check my record. Each time i get a correction i fix it, if there is something i did wrong in my edits am ready to fix it, if possible i will contribute further with communication with the admins, i wont add a page without communicating until that trust is rebuild. I have also read the policy and guide to appeal. Please i am sincerely asking to be unblocked Hurungudo (talk) 07:35, 2 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Your subsequent abuse of multiple accounts makes this unblock request moot. Yunshui  22:30, 4 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

SamHolt6 I am blocked to participate on the forum, however i do not have anything to say regarding the accusation as i am not sure who Gukura is although i have noticed he or she usually is active on my contributions just like another user called Ceethekreator and C.Fred, i usually see them on my contribution so i thought he probably had me on a watch-list i have no idea. What should i do? Any advise?Hurungudo (talk) 10:12, 4 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the delayed response, work is disrupting me today and condoning me to mobile editing. I actually do not know the policy regarding blocked editors commenting on SPIs, so @Bbb23: can you shed some light on the policy? Thanks. SamHolt6 (talk) 16:47, 4 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Seeking guidance

[edit]

Good afternoon SamHolt6, i am seeking advise regarding issues that have been raised concerning my activity on Wikipedia. I am also seeking to know why you suspected that i could be paid for editing Wikipedia, what could i have done to raise that suspicion. I earnestly would like to know because right now everything is happening too fast, like one time there is a COI issue raised and the next moment am blocked, i appeal the block and the next moment a sockpuppet investigation, i am deeply puzzled and need things to get back to normal, i love Wikipedia so much, i enjoy contributing and looking at the fact that here in Zimbabwe we dont have any consistent contributors, i though i could be working on having articles on Zimbabwe with organised research.

I also wanted to have some Wikipedia events for the first time in Zimbabwe in the near future but with these cases against me, will this ever happen, i have no idea.

I want to be trusted contributor again, what do i do? All the contributions i did will it be lost?

Kindly assist me, Hurungudo (talk) 10:27, 4 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
