Wikipedia and copyright
[edit]Hello Het666! Your additions to Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 16:09, 14 August 2022 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Arvind Kejriwal into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. Venkat TL (talk) 13:49, 17 September 2022 (UTC)
Netball at the 2022 National Games of India
[edit]Hi. Currently the article (Netball at the 2022 National Games of India) says that games were played between October 26 and 30, but it's currently the 1st; how is this possible? Ovinus (talk) 03:32, 2 October 2022 (UTC)
It's from Oficial site of national which shows it was concluded on 30th September, that's was right too. Check Oficial website. Het666 (talk) 04:27, 2 October 2022 (UTC)
- Huh? The article says
Netball events were held from 26 October 2022 to 30 October 2022
. Is that a typo? Ovinus (talk) 04:33, 2 October 2022 (UTC)
Ohh it's my mistake Het666 (talk) 07:25, 2 October 2022 (UTC)
- Gotcha, thanks for fixing it. Also in the future, please use more edit summaries; it really helps others understand what you're doing, even if you think it's relatively simple. For example, "fixing dates" might have been a good edit summary for Special:Diff/1113590806. Cheers. Ovinus (talk) 18:44, 2 October 2022 (UTC)
Adhering to copuright policy
[edit]You have been previously warned about copying text, and yet have done it again. Adhering to copyright policy is not optional. Whpq (talk) 13:21, 9 October 2022 (UTC)
2023 National Games of India moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, 2023 National Games of India, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. [edit]Please do not add or change content, as you did at 2022 Gujarat Legislative Assembly election, without citing a reliable source. Why Gautam Adani is shown as Narendra Modi's ally? On 2022 Gujarat Legislative Assembly election Het666 (talk) 09:21, 15 October 2022 (UTC)
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on 2022 Gujarat Legislative Assembly election. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Venkat TL (talk) 09:29, 15 October 2022 (UTC)
I have put that on talk page for consensus so don't add wrong information there Het666 (talk) 09:43, 15 October 2022 (UTC)
- The consensus process is not complete. You cannot add controversial content, before a consensus is reached. Venkat TL (talk) 10:21, 15 October 2022 (UTC)
Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Surat district, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Thank you. Dhruv edits (talk) 17:24, 20 October 2022 (UTC)
Removed places are not in Surat District at all. Unai and Dandi are in Navsari District and Tithal being in Valsad District while Vansda National Park is situated in Navsari District thus it is not rated Surat District there for deleted Het666 (talk) 17:32, 20 October 2022 (UTC)
Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed your recent edit to Surat district does not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits a summary may be quite brief.
The edit summary field looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button. Thanks! Venkat TL (talk) 18:02, 20 October 2022 (UTC)
Het, instead of explaining this in the talk page, you should have used the edit summary option to say that. Venkat TL (talk) 18:03, 20 October 2022 (UTC)

Wikipedia as a source
[edit]Venkat TL(talk) hey please help, can we use other Wikipedia s page as source?
- Het666, no, You cannot use just a wikipedia page link as a reference. However you are free to use the text and the reference from that wikipedia page and copy it while clearly mentioning the source in edit summary. You should use this exact phrase "Copied content from 14th Gujarat Assembly; see that page's history for attribution" . So that way you can recycle content from Wikipedia. But if the page you want to use has no source for the content you want to copy, then you should not copy. Venkat TL (talk) 18:20, 20 October 2022 (UTC)
Ok again thank you Het666 (talk) 04:00, 21 October 2022 (UTC)
Discretionary Sanctions alert
[edit]This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
To opt out of receiving messages like this one, place {{Ds/aware}}
on your user talk page and specify in the template the topic areas that you would like to opt out of alerts about. For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

BRD
[edit]Hi, Are you familiar with the WP:BRD process. If you add something and it gets removed by another user, you should not add it until a consensus is achieved according to the WP:DISPUTERESOLUTION methods.
Right now both articles are protected and have been reverted to a version that is not mine and is a version before the recent edit warring disputes. I need your support and cooperation to prevent any further edit warring on the election pages. Or else the admins will protect the page and it cannot be updated anymore. If WP:BRD is violated and a second revert is made, those should be reported. I have said more on Talk:2022_Himachal_Pradesh_Legislative_Assembly_election#Status_Quo_version_of_5_October_restored and Talk:2022_Gujarat_Legislative_Assembly_election#Status_Quo_version_of_11_October_restored. Disambiguation link notification for October 17
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Kinnaur district, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Kalpa. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Speedy deletion nomination of Contingent Share
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Contingent Share requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.investopedia.com/terms/c/contingent-shares.asp. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. [edit]Please stop your disruptive editing.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at 2022 Gujarat Legislative Assembly election, you may be blocked from editing. Dhruv edits (talk) 08:25, 3 November 2022 (UTC)
Again it's on your side above rule applies to you in fact If you have any doubt regarding that information talk on page otherwise don't Het666 (talk) 08:31, 3 November 2022 (UTC)
- @Het666 That's not how wikipedia works. You have to justify your addition to the article to get consensus. Dhruv edits (talk) 08:49, 3 November 2022 (UTC)
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
Dhruv edits (talk) 08:50, 3 November 2022 (UTC)

Hey As i already said that my intension was not to break copyrights and earlier when i added images such notice is not given and also I was unaware of copyright policy of Wikipedia i was doing that same with Wikipedia:Assume good faith I thought Copyright is not attracted to Wikipedia sites and after knowing copyright issue and also i didn't know how delete it I am assuring you that this will never happen again Please i request you to unblock me User:Bishonen Het666 (talk) 02:18, 5 November 2022 (UTC)

You got four warnings, so you have no reasonable excuse not to know about our copyright policy. In addition, your unblock request fails to demonstrate the necessary proficiency in written English needed to contribute constructively. MER-C 11:08, 5 November 2022 (UTC)

- This talk page has four sections where people provided information/warnings about copyright:
- Wikipedia and copyright
- September 2022
- Speedy deletion nomination of 2023 National Games of India
- Adhering to copuright policy
- In addition, an earlier version (21 October 2022) warned about copyright at "Problems with upload of File:Gonda lasoda fruit.jpeg". Johnuniq (talk) 04:10, 5 November 2022 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) with Johnuniq, sorry if there's some overlap, but I think it may be useful to have both our commentary. Het666, how could you be unaware of Wikipedia's copyright policies after the warnings and the information you have repeatedly received about them? See here, near the top of this page, here, and here. On Commons, where they are deleting your copyrighted images as we speak, you said yesterday you thought specifically images were free.[1] But how could you think that? The copyvio warnings you have received in the last few months on this page are indeed most of them directly about text, but they usually mention images as well. Here's one from August:
"We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images"... "To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse".
And one from October:"For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites".
Another from October:"For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted...
...Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing"
(bold in the original.) Also, in May you received this warning, specifically concerning the copyright status of an image (now deleted as a copyright violation), where you were urged to read the Image use policy as well as Wikipedia:File copyright tags. (You have removed this warning, but that does not mean it ceases to exist.) People have gone out of their way to warn you and advise you about copyright on Wikipedia, seriously, repeatedly, and in detail, and you're expected to read these things. There comes a point where "I didn't know" fails to convince. Bishonen | tålk 04:21, 5 November 2022 (UTC).

- will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
