- Thank you for looking into this page so quickly. This helps me improving the article as a first in a series about internationally famous (living) Dutch people. I started based on the Dutch page which has more references. I removed some of those references because they are entirely Dutch. Was this a stupid thing to do? Can I just give links to Dutch articles as a reference in an English text? If so I will sometime this or next week update the page and make it suitable for wikipedia. There are some English sources for Willem Middelkoop of course too. Mostly interviews on social media. Can I use those as a reference too? Hajosmit (talk) 05:57, 1 September 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Hello Hajosmit. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Hajosmit. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Hajosmit|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Liz Read! Talk! 05:35, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
- To put things straight: I do the Wikipedia editing for Willem Middelkoop and Commodity Discovery Fund pro bono. I do not recieve any compensation for it. In the deletion discussion page I have merely indicated that I have met Willem Middelkoop at some point. And that I have done some paid copywriting directly fr the fund in the past. I once made a brochure and I wrote a blog post. Back from that time I retain a high interest in matters relating to commodities and monetary issues. So I decided om my own part to improve Willem Middelkoops Dutch Wikipedia post. My edits there have been welcomed and accepted. Then I first did a Willem Middelkoop page in English, and after that got rejected (it wasn't adequately sourced), I started on an objective well sourced English page on Commodity Discovery Fund, after I checked that many comparable small funds have Wikipedia pages. I don't mind disclosing that in the past I have done some paid work for this company. How can I mark there that I am not paid for my work on Wikipedia? Hajosmit (talk) 19:10, 26 October 2022 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia: check out the Teahouse!
[edit]Hello! Hajosmit,

- Hello, Hajosmit,
- You know, AFDs are not the best place to ask questions about policies on Wikipedia and how things work here. Discussion in an AFD has to be focused on determining the notability of articles and whether they should be kept, merged or deleted.
- However, the Teahouse is set up as a forum for newer editors to ask questions of experienced editors to get advice and support. I recommend you bring your questions there. Rather than asking a question of one other editor, you have the entire pool of editors who frequent the Teahouse who are available to respond so the knowledge pool is greater. Good luck. Liz Read! - Thank you so much. Will do. May I invite you to weigh in on https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commodity_Discovery_Fund and whether it can be retained? I really feel it's notable and well sourced. Yet it is no Goldman Sachs or Blackrock. Hajosmit (talk) 19:36, 26 October 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Skiing. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. HopsonRoad (talk) 21:59, 25 February 2023 (UTC)
- Excuse me many times... I just tried to show to a friend how Wikipedia works. I write "skiing sucks" or something and never wanted to publish that. Then later I made a small grammar improvement. That I wanted to publish to show to my friend. Then the first bullshit edit was published too. So I immediately undid that action. Vandalism was never my intention! [edit] Hello, I'm Sumanuil. Thank you for your recent contributions to Saifedean Ammous. I noticed that you added an image to the article's infobox as a thumbnail. In future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox, as this is against the Manual of Style. When adding an image, supply only the filename to the |image=
parameter and the caption to the |caption=
parameter instead. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using; please consult the Template page for the infobox being used on that page for proper instructions and documentation. Thanks! - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 09:03, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for this valuable feedback! Did you correct these things already in the article? I will check. Looks like you have. What should I do with this recommendation:
- This template is missing TemplateData, and its parameters have been autogenerated. As a result the template and its parameters lack descriptions. There might be additional information on the template's page. Hajosmit (talk) 09:24, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
