Merge discussion for Timeline of Sun Myung Moon
An article that you have been involved in editing, Timeline of Sun Myung Moon, has been proposed for a merge with another article. If you are interested in the merge discussion, please participate by going here, and adding your comments on the discussion page. Thank you. Steve Dufour (talk) 15:49, 5 July 2013 (UTC)
- I have no expertise in this area, and it appears that I was only involved a while back in solving some reference link issues in the article in question. I have no opinion on the proposed merge. Thanx anyways. Guy1890 (talk) 18:21, 5 July 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for August 1
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Kirtu, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Indians (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
- Fixed. Guy1890 (talk) 21:23, 1 August 2013 (UTC)
Thank you adding key information to the article. Are you a fan? Do you like porn!? Good work on the references. Herzlicheboy (talk) 23:11, 3 August 2013 (UTC)
- You're welcome, but I don't believe that I've ever heard of this adult actress before. I am a member of the Pornography project though. You really should familiarize yourself with PORNBIO before you attempt to create articles about adult film actors/actresses though. The deletionists on here (and, for the record, Gene93k is one of those for sure) and some other Wikipedia editors that appear to have deletionist tendencies for articles that they didn't originally create (or have a significant amount of input into in the past) will be quick to attempt to delete articles in the porn genre. Good luck... Guy1890 (talk) 03:48, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
- So, have you gotten a chance to check out any of Sarah Jessie's work yet? She's hot! Herzlicheboy (talk) 01:34, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
- "Hotness" is very subjective and not really a factor in whether or not a subject has a Wikipedia article about them. I would also caution you from appearing to be too much of a "fan" of the people that you are creating Wikipedia articles for...it will end up working against you in the future. Mike Adriano
Silk Purse Award | ||
This award in appreciation for your improvements to the Mike Adriano article, expanding it and providing sources so as to demonstrate clearer evidence of his meeting our guidelines. Well done! Cavarrone 05:04, 5 August 2013 (UTC) |
- Yes, I second that. I am impressed at how you turned this article around. Good job. Thank you for your hard work. Herzlicheboy (talk) 05:15, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
- You're both welcome, and thanx for the barnstar. To be totally fair, I only started a minor overhaul of the article in question after "Gene93k" started to add some more stuff. I guess that editor has more of an open mind on adult film-related articles than I originally thought, given that they actually changed their vote eventually at AfD.
- I would still suggest to "Herzlicheboy" to be a little more discerning when creating articles on Wikipedia. Use both your recent positive and negative experiences to learn how to use the tools (mentioned here & elsewhere) that are out there to help in adding the necessary citations to articles in the future. I would suggest using your own sandbox first and trying to model any future adult articles (in terms of style, tone, layout, etc.) after some of the more developed articles that are already out there. When you think that an article might be "ready for prime time", you might even ask for some input on it from the community here as well. I wish that the Porn Project had more of a team environment to it, but I know that there are at least a few editors involved in the project that have an open mind & more experience (especially more than I do) on common issues that crop up with adult-related articles. It's easy to take things personally when an article that you've worked on ends up at AfD. Many people have done that on here (even myself), but try & avoid it if you can. Userifcation is an option that you might want to explore if anything that you create gets deleted. Myself and others aren't always going to be around to "save your bacon from the fire". ;) Good luck... Guy1890 (talk) 06:25, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
- Yeh, Gene made excellent improvements too, he's a nice guy and in the past I saw him voting to keep several articles in this field, he has definitely no prejudices of any kind. If he votes to delete a pornography-related topic, you can stay sure that 99% the subject fails our guidelines, he rarely misses. However... you should consider the above award as a general recognition for the usual work of improvement you regularly do to the articles of this field, it was not unnoticed and it was about time you had a barnstar. Keep up the good work. Cavarrone 07:52, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
