I just wanted to thank you for creating huggle, I use it very often. Thanks again!--Cubs197 (talk) 21:38, 17 October 2009 (UTC)

Q

No, not Q, a real Q.

I noticed a question in a admin-coaching thingy saying, "Does Huggle require Rollback permission?" - and whilst I suspect most people will say "yes", it doesn't seem so clear-cut. Perhaps you could give a more full, appropriate answer? (On my talk pls; I'm rubbish at watching things) Cheers,  Chzz  ►  23:53, 27 October 2009 (UTC)

Depends what you mean by "require". Huggle is quite capable of operating without rollback, otherwise it wouldn't be able to revert vandalism by multiple users. On this wiki, Huggle's configuration page directs it to refuse to work for any user account lacking rollback; this is because of paranoia about misuse, not for any technical reason. Huggle haz Checkuser?

Hi Gurch, an interesting feature of Huggle that I wasn't aware of, it seems to be able to link IP editors to their accounts. Kalpesh dave was nominated as G7 today despite the blanking being done by an IP not the author. The tagger NellieBly told me that "I tried to revert the blanking and Huggle told me it had been blanked by the creator and asked me if I wanted to tag it as CSD." Does Huggle have a checkuser ability or has the swine flu virus made Huggle's tail go curly? ϢereSpielChequers 13:59, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

Probably just broken. I couldn't tell you why without the page history. If it got a page tagged for deletion that should have been deleted anyway then it doesn't seem like that much of a problem. Gurch (talk) 17:37, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
OK, just in case this is a sign of a wider problem, I've restored it and moved it to User:WereSpielChequers/Kalpesh dave. ϢereSpielChequers 08:40, 14 November 2009 (UTC)

Hi - just a quick note on your last !vote comment at the discussion for friendly... the way it was written sounds like the author was canvassing which may not go over well with future !voters commenters. Just wanted to know if you wanted to clarify (or if in fact he was canvassing people should be made aware of that). Huggle issue

I put it at the bottom of Huggle's talk page. The Arbiter 17:22, 26 November 2009 (UTC)

Heres what I put. When I use Huggle, random tabs open up sometimes in my web browser. For example, I'll be just working on Huggle, but all of a sudden my web browser will open a window for National Geographic Kids, Cybersitter 11, AntiSpamSniper, etc. These are not malicious sites, but what makes them keep popping up? Some appreciation

I've just started using Huggle- very impressive. It was heartwarming to discover that I was already on the whitelist.

Thank you for your time in developing the software, as well as your sheer, inhuman patience in supporting it. From the looks of the feedback page, some users have really put you through the wringer with suggestions that don't quite make sense- all the while maintaining a delightfully sardonic attitude (much like some of my favorite people). --King Öomie 20:53, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

attack pages?

Hi Gurch, I was wondering whether Huggle takes special notice of people who have received one or more of the warnings generated by {{G3}}, {{G10}} or {{db-attack}}? Aside from the fact that some such editors respond with personal attacks on the taggers, it would be helpful if creators of multiple attack pages were escalated to AIV a bit more smoothly. Apologies if Huggle picks up on this already, but I'm sure I've seen level 1 warnings handed out to people who've responded to an attack page warning with a personal attack. Chzz's talk page

I was curious as to why you just added a message concerning an edit in September, particularly as Chzz is gone anyhow.  fetchcomms 23:13, 12 December 2009 (UTC)

gurch added the message because i was chatting with him while going through my watchlist. I gave him a link to the article so that he could see in the history that the article creator actually sourced their plagiarism. gurch saw in the history the edit by Chzz which reverted a helpful contribution. The message to Chzz is a bit late but i think gurch put it there on the off-chance that Chzz comes back. Hasty use of huggle is a concern for gurch as he is was its developer. delirious & lost~hugs~ 20:12, 16 December 2009 (UTC)

User pages

Meh. The problem here is that you're trying to set what's actually done by writing down what you think should be done. You don't think the redirects should be disowned and deleted as U2? That's fine, but people will just continue deleting the redirects by shifting their position to one of "ownership" and deleting them as U1 or even G7. --MZMcBride (talk) 09:51, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

Slap

Whacking with a wet trout or trouting is a common practice on Wikipedia when experienced editors slip up and make a silly mistake. It, along with sentencing to the village stocks, is used to resolve one-off instances of seemingly silly behavior amongst normally constructive community members, as opposed to long term patterns of disruptive edits, which earn warnings and blocks.

Example

Whack!
The above is a WikiTrout (Oncorhynchus macrowikipediensis), used to make subtle adjustments to the clue levels of experienced Wikipedians.
To whack a user with a wet trout, simply place {{trout}} on their talk page.

This was silly, don't do that again please! Majorly talk 18:04, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:Blue Öyster Cult - (Don't Fear) The Reaper.ogg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Blue Öyster Cult - (Don't Fear) The Reaper.ogg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved, as you did at Alexander Schukoff. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.

Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.

If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. --bender235 (talk) 13:27, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Huggle, Sweden

An editor has nominated Huggle, Sweden, an article which you have created or worked on, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator, Belugaboy535136 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log), doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Huggle, Sweden and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to address the nominator's concerns but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. - Eastmain (talkcontribs) 01:41, 1 February 2010 (UTC)

Huggle top toolbar filter

It might be helpful in future versions of Huggle to have a way to easily make custom toolbar icons for the top of the interface i.e. The standered revert + warn button is for vandalism. but a way to add other revert + diffrent warning buttons might be helpful (along with assigning a keyboard command for each) also if there was a better way with wikipedia browser intergration into the program for viewing pages better. thanks great program though so far! also i notice sometimes it crashes when you try to revert a edit back and then try to revert a warning back. Thanks! also sometimes the pages seem to load slow or not load at all...maybe its a browser thing though :-) but overall very useful program! keep up the great work! Title of 1st Harry Potter book

Would you would volunteer for a month to revert all incorrect changes of title to ... Sorcer's Stone - which includes the taxoboxes of all the articles on the books, plus Harry Potter? If you wan't to volunteer for the task, I suggest you show not expect others to do it, and you should support a banner that discourages incorrect changes. --Philcha (talk) 22:44, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Having a large banner (and an equally large message complaining that said banner should be on the talk page) on the top of an article that isn't even the article whose title is in contention seems pointless, and distracting to readers. Especially when the article whose title is in contention lacks said banner. Gurch (talk) 22:48, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Just so you know...

Huggle has been rendered unable to login, due to a recent change in the login system. The Thing // Talk // Contribs 01:54, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

Huggle, new versión

Hi Gurch, i was added this code to Huggle using SVN

           If Result.Contains("<input type=""hidden"" name=""wpLoginToken"" ") Then
               Login.Token = Result.Substring(Result.IndexOf("name=""wpLoginToken"" value=""") + 27)
               Login.Token = Login.Token.Substring(0, Login.Token.IndexOf(""""))
           End If

Did you publish this?, so, i see you correct and add Token to login class. greetings Hprmedina (talk) 16:55, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, I don't quite understand your request. The commit changed both Login and Request classes, compiles and (as far as I can tell) works correctly, and the changes are included in version 0.9.3, so there shouldn't be any need to fetch it from SVN. Is there another problem? Gurch (talk) 17:26, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
Today i downloads the source and i add this lines:

           'Agregar login token
           ' <input type="hidden" name="wpLoginToken" value="8f75526565e9aeb40e90b403f80e7667" />
           Dim wpLoginToken As String = String.Empty
           If Result.Contains("name=""wpLoginToken""") Then
               wpLoginToken = Result.Substring(Result.IndexOf("name=""wpLoginToken"" value=""") + 27)
               wpLoginToken = wpLoginToken.Substring(0, wpLoginToken.IndexOf(""""))
           End If

then i post the source and i was have an error from SVN. after that, appears the code:

           If Result.Contains("<input type=""hidden"" name=""wpLoginToken"" ") Then
               Login.Token = Result.Substring(Result.IndexOf("name=""wpLoginToken"" value=""") + 27)
               Login.Token = Login.Token.Substring(0, Login.Token.IndexOf(""""))
           End If

then the question is, Did you correct my source and add Token to Login class. It doesn't coincidence, the source are equal. Did you receive my udpate? or is very coincidence?

ok, indeed we need in spanish wiki to add this line in ReportRequest.vb line 208: Actual line:

Report &= CRLF & "* Usuario que reporta: ~~~~" & CRLF & "* Acción administrativa:" & CRLF

New required line:

Report &= CRLF & "* Usuario que reporta: ~~~~" & CRLF & "* Acción administrativa: (A rellenar por un bibliotecario)" & CRLF

i was send this change using SVN, but appears not work SVN or the line was ignored. Do you understand me?, Can you do this change and make 0.9.4 please Hprmedina (talk) 17:57, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
