I've added the article to my watchlist and will help keep an eye on it. Right now it doesn't look like the vandalism is heavy or persistent enough to semi-protect, but if it gets worse I'll protect it. And a Merry Christmas to you! Dreadstar 18:47, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

I see you had to do this right after responding to me...so I was convinced.... :) Semi'd for a month. I'll keep it on my watchlist after that, but let me know if it continues. Dreadstar 22:13, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

Shannon Lucas

Yeah thanks for the fix. I was just about to do that. My booklet does say that though. The 2nd edition of the album does in fact say that Shannon Lucas was the drummer. I don't know so I just went with whatever Shannon Lucas said. I just went to his Wikipedia article and it says that he says that he wrote the drum parts. So yeah I trust him more. I also noticed that he wasn't on the "This Calling" video. That video was released 2 months before the album was released. So i am confused as hell. Can you help me understand? I don't know why my booklet says Mickey was the drummer, but the 2nd edition said Shannon Lucas was the drummer.--Kevinlovesyou (talk) 00:07, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

Because "This Calling" was a promo single before The Fall of Ideals was released, Shannon did not perform on that song, I believe Mickey was the one that did perform on that song and the reason why he was credited on the first edition of the whole album was because that was a mistake, later fixed for the second edition. -~- GunMetal Angel 01:08, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
Okay then because I have both where the 1st edition says Mickey was drummer, and the second edition, which I recently purchased just to be sure, said that Shannon was the drummer. I also saw an interview where Shannon explained that he wrote the majority of the drum parts. So maybe Mickey was credited on only This Calling I guess. See I myspaced Phil and he said that Razor and Tie/ Prostetic records just copied and pasted the entire credits from the previous album. So that is the only reason why they had to release the second edition. Well thanks anyways for fixing it, I was just about to fix it, when I saw your edit 10 minuted after. Close one.--Kevinlovesyou (talk) 04:30, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
Also dude, The Weak Willed is considered by the band as "the death metal song". I don't want to post anything without a reference, so I am coming to you, as you have been a member the longest. I have seen them live twice, and they refer to it as just what I said. I don't know if it is relevant to the part where you put that it is the most varied song.--Kevinlovesyou (talk) 04:35, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

That's odd, death metal does not have any of the standards that The Weak Willed shares in the song, (before, I would say it would be a deathcore song, but I noticed 5 words of clean vocals sung near the end). So if that's the case, if you can find a cite reference, it would be best to state on the article "the band refers to the song 'The Weak Willed' as a 'death metal song'", instead of stating "The Weak Willed is a death metal song". ~-~ GunMetal Angel

Oh definitely, but they just refer to it as "the death metal song" not a death metal song. It's some sort of a joke because everyone laughs and gets pumped, but the only reference that I would have is youtube videos, which of course are not valid.--Kevinlovesyou (talk) 02:23, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Actually, YouTube videos would be technically valid if they are used in the correct context, in this case, a sentence used, I know this because I noticed the article for Tool's third album Lateralus, a reference citation for a YouTube video is used for pronouncation for the album. In this case, I'm quite sure a video can be used for your theory, and above all, be sure to be bold. -~- GunMetal Angel 16:58, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

What?? I was asking a question. -- GunMetal Angel

Re: Apologies

Really no problem. I know how you must feel because I too was confused about it all but in the same situation an admin explained it all to me and I just accepted it as it is. People at WP:CATEGORY and WP:ALBUM would probably say the same things. Anyway I was going to clean out and add to the category sometime soon. Also, you do know that on the artist album categories that all of their albums would fall into those categories which is not wrong in the way of categorization (but can be a little confusing to people that associate their albums to different genres). As for articles now, musicians that played other genres before should still be added - especially if the act is strongly associated with that other genre, for instance Job for a Cowboy with deathcore and death metal still being seen as having deathcore elements to some. Glad you understand now. FireCrystal (talk) 18:53, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

I APPROVE OF THESE MATTERS!!!

• THE APROVER •

Spaces

When modifying a paragraph, could you avoid adding or removing spaces around the paragraph? It causes the diff to show the entire paragraph in red (example), making it difficult to quickly see what you've changed. If you must change the spacing, then could you do it in a separate edit? For example: here, if you compare the top and bottom revisions,[3], then you'll see a lot of red, making it very difficult to see what I've done; however, if you examine each diff individually, then it's easy to see the minor changes. Thanks. —LOL T/C 05:31, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

I'm aware of the dif' glitch. And as for making unnecessary spaces, it will not happen again, thank you. - GunMetal Angel 19:46, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

Slipknot (80's band)

Stop putting in the Slipknot (1980 band) article "Not to confuse by the heavy metal band Slipknot". Although I don't believe that nu metal is a subgenre of heavy metal (I don't mind if it has the word "metal" in it's name), this is a thrash metal band, that is also heavy metal, if you like saying that. In your terms, there are both heavy metal bands, so is better to leave the disambiguation as "nu metal band". --Anarkangel (talk) 21:00, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

Slipknot is not a nu metal band, maybe if it was just best to remove "nu metal" altogether. - GunMetal Angel
Yes, I think is better. But one thing I don't stand is that people says that is a heavy metal band. I have listened to Slipknot and at the beggining was nu metal, and now alt metal. Heavy metal refers to bands like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden or Motörhead. --Anarkangel (talk) 21:10, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
Heavy metal refers to any/all bands that are heavy metal among Wikipedia articles, see Lamb Of God, Chimaira or Trivium. - GunMetal Angel

You didn't use my joke!!! T_T. GunMetal Angel
It was not ready. Finish it first! ;-) I think it's rather flat to only address wearing a mask. Guitar World had a brief history of masked guitarists back in the October 2008 issue (with Tonkpils on the f'n title!). Well, just find a link here on Wikipedia or anywhere else on the internet that has both of them in it, plus being funny in a certain way. Did you know that Dan Monti has worked with both? Also note that any member can work on the newsletter, not only me. It's still a WikiProject and no personal blog or something like that. --Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 20:31, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
I just wish there was some kind of funny picture where Carrol would pull the massive nose on the mask of Chris Fehn, or at least have some kind of creative Photoshop somewhere on the web, but alas there is nothing! -- GunMetal Angel
Well, and actually the Reese thing I found today was just too good to not include. I just couldn't wait until next christmas. *lol* Be patient, though I don't like Tonkpils I'll have a look for something... --Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 20:47, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

How about this:

With Corey from Slipknot starting work on his side project called Superego, the rest of the band has headed into the studio with Buckethead to record an album under the working title “hockey stick guitars and goofy getups”.[4]

--Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 19:14, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

Don't know what the link was about, all it seemed to say was just a bunch of randomness as far as how someone didn't like the 2001 movie Vanilla Sky. - GunMetal Angel

I didn't revert your edits, I modified them. For example, your edits said "a song by Disturbed," mine say, "a song by American heavy metal band Disturbed." Your say, "a song by Disturbed, the song was released as a single, etc" and mine say "a song by American heavy metal band Disturbed, released as a single, etc." Mine are simply more descriptive. --The Guy complain edits 21:21, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Parkway Drive

Singles are by no means inherently notable. We don't need pages on every single ones, especially ones that didn't chart. Most songs don't warrant an article unless they prove exceptional notability through coverage in multiple reliable sources. Please do not undo my redirects unless you address the problem by adding third party sources (i.e., significant coverage that isn't the band's official website/MySpace/etc.). Those articles pass WP:Songs, and furthermore, when redirecting so for future notice, you are supposed to link the redirect to the album it's from NOT the artist's article. - GunMetal Angel 01:02, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Nu metal

1. My intentions were not vandalism, do not assume that.

2. You decide after a month to post a message?

3. Consider putting a source next to the genre, it took me time to find out the album has nu-metal elements.--F-22 Raptor IV 00:35, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

You had no reason for your reverts either. Also, add a source before reverting back to questionable material. And assume Wikipedia:Good Faith.--F-22 Raptor IV 18:47, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

Didn't I talk to you about backing up genres with a source?--F-22 Raptor IV 21:12, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

RE: July 2009

Maybe you're right about the spaces, but if you'd lurk moar, you'd see that even if the comma in the date isn't there in the source, it still shows up on the article, Wikipedia made it that way for a reason. Chris9086 (talk) 02:09, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

30 STM

What are you doing here? You have to not delete the sources. I deleted the Indie London's source because it isn't reliable: Kerrang! Awards: Enter Shakiri v My Chemical Romance - YOUR London Reviews. I deleted post hardcore because the source does not say that 30 STM are post hardcore. You don't delete neoprogressive because there is the source: http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=11:3zfixql0ldke~T0 . I don't understand because you cancelled my edit, Can you explain me?--Matthew Riva (talk) 22:48, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

I'm sick of the vandal that is continously removing categories, he should be blocked or better yet, the article needs to be semi-protected. As for the genres, please add them back with the sources. — GunMetal Angel 22:58, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

July 2009

Metallica is also a rock band in broad context, but yet their article says they are a heavy metal band in the first sentence. If so, Aerosmith should get to keep the hard rock tag as well. Heavy metal is a specific genre of music that falls under the broader category of "rock", and the same goes for hard rock. Aerosmith and Metallica are both rock bands, yet one is hard rock and the other is heavy metal. I think it'd be better to clear that up by putting the more specific genre of music (hard rock or heavy metal) than the broad genre (rock). Also, hard rock is what the source (Allmusic) says anyhow...that Aerosmith is a hard rock band. In fact, Allmusic actually says Aerosmith is a hard rock band TWICE in the first sentence of their biography of Aerosmith. Nowehere does it just say "rock".

Additionally, the lead already says that Aerosmith was formed in 1970 in Boston, but in a more appropriate place. Not every band article needs to have the exact same first lead sentence that you think it should be. If it seems more appropriate for a certain band article to have it say when and where they were formed in the 2nd or 3rd sentence to make for a better read that fits with the chronological nature of the lead, then that's what it should be.
