Both are missing a full reference to Van Alles Wat 1880. If you could add it, that would be great.@Headbomb:Thank you, I added it.Grieg2 (talk) 06:14, 27 May 2021 (UTC)
Also, you can install User:Svick/HarvErrors.js to get noticed of such issues in articles when making use of short footnotes in the future. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 21:07, 26 May 2021 (UTC)

Hi thanks for creating Oud Haerlem Castle which I’ve just reviewed. Is it partly translated from the ml.wiki article? If so there us a template I need to add. Thanks Mccapra (talk) 12:44, 30 October 2021 (UTC) |
- @Mccapra:Well thank you! To answer your question: I normally do not translate pages, and this also applies to Oud Haerlem Castle. I would like to translate pages, but in general, the pages for which I create English equivalents, do not have enough verifiable references for me to trust the content.Grieg2 (talk) 15:22, 30 October 2021 (UTC)

Hedel Bridge
Hi thanks for creating this article. When we translate or borrow from other language wikis it’s a requirement to acknowledge the source. The best way to do this is to include it in your edit summary (e.g. “translated from nl.wiki”) and there’s also a translation template you can add to the talk page. Happy editing and please leave a message on my talk page if you need any help. Mccapra (talk) 12:39, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Mccapra. It's true that I often start with a Dutch page as a kind of template for what should be in a new page, but that's about all that I use.
- Indeed the Hedel Bridge page is a good example of how I actually recreate a page from references. The English page has the pontoon bridge opening in 1861, the Dutch version erroneously has it opening in 1864. The Dutch version has that the bridge was repaired in 1942, the English version has: 'It's not clear how much of the bridge was repaired in 1944'. I simply could not find a reference that it had been repaired after May 1940. Some parts of both pages are the same, but that's because the Dutch version and the article by Jean Pierre Klaver contain the same sentences.Grieg2 (talk) 16:04, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
Gerhard Moritz Roentgen moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, Gerhard Moritz Roentgen, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. scope_creepTalk 16:05, 31 August 2022 (UTC)
- I added references to the page and reworked it. The section about Roentgen's character I could not reference, and I therefore deleted that section. Grieg2 (talk) 11:12, 5 September 2022 (UTC)
- Hi @Grieg2: Great piece updating that article. It turned out really well. I took out a couple of references that weren't cited by the sources and put them in their own wee section. Solid work!! scope_creepTalk 14:59, 5 September 2022 (UTC)

scope_creepTalk 14:56, 5 September 2022 (UTC)- Well thank you, it inspires me to write a new page about Hercules, the tugboat with a compound steam engine Grieg2 (talk) 04:06, 6 September 2022 (UTC)
Hi. What you did is called a WP:CUTANDPASTE move, which is not allowed on WP. Also, the name in the lead, matches the name in the title, so do you really want to make that name change? If so, do you need help doing it, since moving the article might be blocked by the current redirect? Ping me to let me know. And thanks for all you do on the project. Onel5969 TT me 14:35, 8 October 2022 (UTC)
- Indeed I need help for the reason you mentioned. The problem is that I thought to use a modern spelling when I created Nederlandse Stoomboot Maatschappij (without 'ch' in Nederlandse). It turned out that in practice older Dutch companies retain the 'ch' in Nederlandsche. See e.g. De Nederlandsche Bank (the Dutch central bank), but also the Dutch wiki page for Nederlandsche Stoomboot Maatschappij.
- So I tried to move Nederlandse Stoomboot Maatschappij to Nederlandsche Stoomboot Maatschappij, but it turned out that Nederlandsche Stoomboot Maatschappij (with 'ch') was a redirect to Fijenoord, the shipyard founded and owned by the shipping line. Hence the cutandpaste move. The intention was just to move Nederlandse Stoomboot Maatschappij to Nederlandsche Stoomboot Maatschappij. Please help to do this with retention of the page history.
