Greenman
[edit]Are you on the Pay Roll of the Dictator Jose Eduardo dos Santos?
If not, why are you placing the Sao Tome Born Dictator with a clear violation of Wikipedias rules on verifiable content. No one known in "angola" where this sun of both Parents of Sao tome Island was born what they know is that he was not born in "angola" but apparantly you seem to have seen the unexistant birth certificate of the Dictator.
Also it is very suspicious and shows what kind of a individual you are not by not having the balls of placing your real name.
The world is a sad and remains more ignorant and misinformed ny individuals such as you.
Sincerely and yours truly, etc..., etc....

Hi Greenman. You removed the PROD from this article, indicating that there was ample evidence that he existed. I still haven't been able to find anything other than Wikipedia mirrors. (I haven't tried searching in Greek, though.) Can you add a reliable source to the article? Thanks! Pburka (talk) 03:19, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
History of South Africa
[edit]Communicat's edit may have appeared "valid and sourced". It may even be so. However, Communicat has a record of selective quoting, misquoting, or not reading sources he lists;[1] [2] pushing a fringe POV;[3][4] and plagiarism.[5] Have you checked the actual sources to see if they are reliable and that Communicat used them accurately? Currie Cup team names
[edit]Hi there, There are two issues here.
Firstly, you changed templates linking a team name to a URL. For example, you changed {{Rut DHL Western Province}} to show text "Western Province" instead of "DHL Western Province". If someone used it as follows: "{{Rut Western Province}} - also known as {{Rut DHL Western Province}} for sponsorship reasons", that would now display as "Western Province, also known as Western Province for sponsorship reasons", which doesn't make sense at all. There are other templates set up for all teams without their sponsored names, so the correct action would've been to use the other templates instead.
The second issue is the usage of the sponsorship name in team names (which I would concede might be open for discussion). Why should common names be used? I fully agree that the article names for the teams should be their common names (with no more than a reference to their sponsored name on the page). Yet, the articles you changed referred to specific Currie Cup seasons. In the 2011 Currie Cup season, for example, the team is called "DHL Western Province". If you look at the fixtures, the results, match report etc., on the official site, the sponsored name is used, which is a sure indication that that's the team name recognised in this competition by the governing body. Again, using Western Province as an example, on their official site, the fixtures, logs and match reports use the sponsored name as the actual team name.
I definitely do not propose that it be changed in articles regarding the history of the Currie Cup, etc., but surely using the team name that a team played under for a season should be used in an article regarding that season? TheMightyPeanut (talk) 15:35, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

If you need my help with this article, ask me; my sense is to shorten it (remove unreferenced stuff), and the intro should give a better sense of what it's about, how popular or prevalent it is, etc. This is one of those situations I think in which less is more -- in this case, much more, and that tightening and honing the article will help it survive.--Tomwsulcer (talk) 15:18, 5 October 2011 (UTC)

Inviting you to WikiAfrica Incubator!
[edit]Hey Greenman,
WikiAfrica invites you to support the Africa Incubator
WikiAfrica is pleased to invite you as a self-declared African Wikipedian to evaluate the Africa Incubator. WikiAfrica has created the Africa Incubator to support and assist new authors, as they create their first articles and learn the ins and outs of contributing to Wikipedia.
The Africa Incubator is a ‘soft landing’ for new authors to develop articles that relate to Africa. It assists them in becoming compliant and knowledgeable of Wikipedia principles and rules. Based within the Wikipedia framework, the Africa Incubator is fully interactive and enables feedback, assistance and forums.
This is where we need your help! For the Africa Incubator to be successful, it needs the intervention, interaction and experience of Incubator Mentors. We are looking for a pool of active experienced Wikipedians to consistently participate in ’owning’ the Africa Incubator. Incubator Mentors will assist new comers through the editing process. They will also help test and expand the Africa Incubator, and will play a vital role in encouraging newcomers to be Wikipedians for life
Please visit WikiAfrica Incubator to give us your honest feedback and evaluation. WikiAfrica is a ground-breaking project that is designed to Africanise Wikipedia by generating and expanding 30,000 articles over two years. Find out more about this project here WikiAfrica. [edit]Hi Greenman, apologies for the hassle I caused. I mis-read this web page and assumed too much. The article Johannes Mabusela has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. reddogsix (talk) 01:34, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
The article Ras Dumisani has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- This is clearly a WP:BLP1E. This person's "notability" is based on a single incident.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Roger (talk) 08:00, 27 August 2012 (UTC)

SBW fight
[edit]Please, before you go around alleging that the fight was fixed please provide definitive proof that states it was fixed, rather than throwing in the negative opinions of every Tom, Dick and Harry you can possibly find. Thankyou.Suid-Afrikaanse (talk) 03:47, 10 February 2013 (UTC)
- Wikipedia is based on reliable sources, not opinions. I provided multiple sources that Botha and others claimed the fight was fixed. Whether you or I believe it was is not important. Greenman (talk) 17:29, 10 February 2013 (UTC)
- If you had cared to ask before accusing me you would have discovered that the reason i didn't have an edit summary was because i used the rollback feature, which does not allow an edit summary. That is why i then bothered to add this section on your talk page to clarify my reasoning for my edit. I agree completely that Wikipedia is based on reliable sources. However, you have completely contradicted yourself: you say "Wikipedia is based on reliable sources, not opinions", but you then go ahead adding the very opinions of others such as Botha, Lewis e.t.c. Yes the source must be reliable such as a reputable news website, but the information in the source must also be reliable. And the unreliable (and later disproven) comments of a just proven drug cheat and others who have no intimate knowledge of the whole SBW-Botha saga should not be included in any reputable encyclopedia. It has been proven by Botha's own manager that the bout was shortened just BEFORE the fight - not during as you would like to have added in the article. Wikipedia is not the place to add disproven information, no matter the actual source of that information. Thankyou.Suid-Afrikaanse (talk) 01:53, 11 February 2013 (UTC)
- I suggest reading up on Wikipedia policies, for example Wikipedia:Verifiability, not truth, which makes it very clear that one " 'may not remove sources' views from articles simply because they disagree with them." Greenman (talk) 07:17, 11 February 2013 (UTC)
- I am not removing content simply because i "disagree with them". You stating such an argument only proves you have not taken much notice of my comments. I stated very clearly - but let me repeat - that i removed the edits because they have been proven as false. To continue arguing for their inclusion is unwarranted because they are clearly false. Let me ask you: If the Wikipedia article on the planet earth clearly states based upon proven science that the earth is a sphere, do we then add as probable fact that the opinions of centuries ago stating that it is flat are true? I hope we can come to a logical and sensical resolution of this issue. Thankyou.Suid-Afrikaanse (talk) 09:13, 11 February 2013 (UTC)
- Please discuss the article on that article's talk page so that others interested can follow. You have been requested to do this before by other editors. Any further comments here will be deleted. Greenman (talk) 13:36, 11 February 2013 (UTC)

SBW
[edit]I don't think that source should be used to authenticate SBW didn't secure that WBA title. 1. It states that Botha was leading on points when it was the other way round. 2. It states a WBA official without naming or quoting them. 3. It's a South African source without any other news agency reporting this WBA matter. If SBW really isn't the holder of the title then one would expect many more agencies to report this recent revelation - but none have.Suid-Afrikaanse (talk) 02:50, 13 June 2013 (UTC)
- The claim was unsourced, and I added a sourced version. If you wish to dispute it, find a reliable source. Greenman (talk) 08:40, 14 June 2013 (UTC)
- Can you please explain how you came to the conclusion that the claim is unsourced? I find this very strange when it is clearly referenced in the SBW & Botha articles. & you also didn't answer even 1 of my points above if you want to talk about reliable sources.Suid-Afrikaanse (talk) 15:06, 14 June 2013 (UTC)

cryptocurrency editting war
[edit]Please do not add coins from ages ago.
Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you get reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. You reverted the page from age old material, adding non-trival coins like 'titcoin' 'mazacoin' back to Cryptocurrency, every one of your edits re-adds BlackCoin which you also removed my template for deletion without discussion. Your cite of 'previous discussion' was just yourself talking to yourself with no consensus. Please avoid doing this, as it doesn't take a lot of commonsense to see you are motivated by something here. Please hlpe keep Wikipedia updated and correct. WinterstormRage (talk) 14:08, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
- seeing you start reverting without discussion on both cryptocurrency and BlackCoin and now adding trash like 'titcoin' into the list earns you a report. ==Notice of Edit warring noticeboard discussion==

ICC Test Championship standings in articles on Test cricket teams
[edit]Without intending to be rude, may I ask if it is really necessary to include the ICC Test Championship standings at the start of the respective Records sections in the articles on the ten national cricket teams that have Test status?
The championship was only introduced in 2003, and only takes into account Test matches played in the last four years. And it is only a notional competition, even if the top-ranked team gets to hold a trophy. Bluebird207 (talk) 10:32, 7 January 2015 (UTC)

Terrorist and NPOV
[edit]Hi Ian, a conversation has started on Talk:1993 in South Africa about whether or not the term "terrorist" should be used when describing certain individuals. I would like to get your input on this as I feel it is an important discussion with regards to South African history articles in general especially ones that cover the anti-apartheid phase.--Discott (talk) 12:47, 28 January 2015 (UTC)
