Hello, I'm Scott, pronouns they/them. I've been editing for 21 years (user #5413), and I've been an admin for 17. My use of the tools is largely limited to archival and history maintenance functions. I was Hex for a while, which is a handle I use in a lot of other places.

I also often edit now without bothering to log in. Try it, it's liberating - if you're lucky enough not to be in one of the vast IP ranges permanently prevented from participating in "the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit".

Anyway, after being here so long, I can tell you for sure that this isn't the paragon of universal knowledge that people make it out to be. Lmao. Not even close. There's a lot of good to be had here, but never let it slip while you read that this is a game, and everyone's trying to win somehow.

I'm on our Discord so do say hi if you are as well.

11th of November 2022: I registered on Wikipedia twenty years ago today. This wasn't my first wiki - I'd been editing at the original WikiWikiWeb and MeatballWiki for two years already at that point. I've been involved with wikis for half of my life, and I expect that to continue for many years to come.  — Scott talk
