RfC on reliable sources for Eurovision articles

A second RfC has been started on sourcing for Eurovision articles, you can view it at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision#RfC on reliable sources for Eurovision articles. This RfC is critical as it will help determine how current and future Eurovision articles are sourced, and as much participation as possible is needed for a consensus to develop. You are being notified as you are listed as an active user of Wikipedia:WikiProject Eurovision, and hence the results of this RfC could have a large impact on the articles you edit. Straw poll on reliable sources for Eurovision articles

The second RfC on sourcing for Eurovision articles has now being running for several weeks, you can view it at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision#RfC on reliable sources for Eurovision articles. In order to help gauge the spread of opinion and draw conclusions from this discussion a straw poll has been started at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision#Straw poll. All project members are encouraged to read the RfC thoroughly and then cast their votes as they see fit. Rationales are still encouraged in the main discussion area above the poll, and participants can add appropriate new sources or options to the poll as they wish. Minos EMI edits

Hey Greekstar, I was happy to see that the Minos EMI page is getting some attention, since after I created it I have kinda abandoned it as of late :(. However sakis rouvas music is by no means a music publisher. Sakis Rouvas is now more of an independent artist. He fully finances himself through Sakis Rouvas Music, and then he licenses the rights to his material to Minos EMI. This is a very common scheme in the music industry. Sakis Rouvas Music (aka Sakis himself) is the copyright holder and holds the masters, and Minos EMI is licensed by Rouvas to market and distribute the recordings. I suggest you read up on music publishing and ownership of master recordings to clear up your apparent confusion. Also the Billboard article is useless, at least in the lead, as it's 11 years old. We all know how different the musical landscape was back then, not to mention that market share is a very fluid thing. Imperatore (talk) 16:48, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

PS. I have some ideas to transform this page now that I've backed off of it for a while now and that I have more solid understanding of the business of music. I may also be doing a Sony Music Greece page soon provided that I can find enough sources. Imperatore (talk) 16:58, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
