Hello, and thanks for your recent contributions to the Denmark article. I have (perhaps temporarily) reverted your edits, not because there was anything wrong with them, but because I've started a discussion on the talkpage about whether info on Greenland and the Faroe Islands should be included in that infobox. I would very much recommend you to participate in this discussion. And please don't worry, your additions to the article can be easily reinstated if consensus is reached that the infobox should contain info on the entire Rigsfællesskabet. A tag has been placed on +977, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}}

Speedy deletion of Millennium Force (Left Behind)
A tag has been placed on Millennium Force (Left Behind) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Hi. I noticed you're adding 'Democratic socialism and social democracy' in many articles. Do you have any sources for these additions, our are you supposing that any social democratic party is 'democratic socialist and social democratic'? And if always using the the terms together, are there any difference between the two? --Soman (talk) 21:07, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
Hi, the reason i have been adding Democratic socialism and social democracy in many articles is because ideologically i believe that most parties that define themselves to be democratic Socialist are social democratic as well and vice versa because most socialist parties will try to remove the injustices of capitalism and reform it but not remove it and support a mixed economy, that is social democracy, but also most also support a welfare state and an evolutionary, electoral, democratic path towards Socialism and/or a fairer society which is democratic socialism, in contrast to a revolutionary path. most Centre-left parties wether they define themselves as social democrats or democratic socialists believe in these basic things and also if you look at the two ideologies in depth they are very closely intertwined with each other and it is my belief that both ideologies are so closely related that they should be used synonymously with each other. as for the parties i have added these two ideologies to i have read their policies over and over and have deemed them to adhere to these two idologies and as you know it is difficult to provide a reference that states explicitly that they adhere to these two ideologies.

Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice
Hi,
As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.
We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.
You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.
We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

positions
generally its not a good idea to add left/right positionings in the 'ideology' section of political party infoboxes. These definitions are generally difficult to deal with in an npov way. For example, what's the source that the Socialist People's Party (Denmark) would be center-left? In Danish politics they are generally seen as 'venstrefløj' (left wing). And dubbing the Portuguese Communist Party is a bit complicated, the far left definition in southern Europe has traditionally been the parties to the left of the mainstream communist parties. --Soman (talk) 20:06, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

Are you looking for a project you can really sink your teeth into?
I noticed you are a member of the Geography WikiProject. I thought you might be interested in this...
A huge collaboration is underway, in which participants all work on 247 pages at a time. That's right, there are 247 pages in the set, and we're all working on all of them! We kind of cheat, by using advanced wikitools like AWB and Linky that let you load or switch between pages quickly (and other tricks).
We're building a geography reference aid for Wikipedia covering every country of the world. Organized as topic outlines (a type of structured list), these pages present maps, pictures, basic information on each country, and links to essential articles about each country on Wikipedia. We have created 247 drafts (one for every country of the world), 28 of which have been completed enough that they've been moved to article space already (so people can make use of them, even though they're still under construction). The rest are getting pretty close.
Each of these pages in turn form part of Wikipedia's outline of knowledge, and when completed, this branch of the outline will be the best general navigation aid for browsing country-related information on Wikipedia.
We're looking for users who love geography, and who use or would like to start using:
- WP:AWB, or
- Firefox, with the Linky add-on, or
- similar tools and/or other tricks
...to edit many pages fast.
While some of us work on completing one country page at a time, most of the work we do entails completing a particular knowledge item on all of the pages. For example, filling in the population figures for each country, or creating redirects to "bluelink" standard link names used throughout the set, or placing a specific type of map on each page, etc. etc.
Working in this way is kind of like traveling around the world, since you get to visit the page of each country of the world to work on it.
Tasks range from the simple (filling in blanks, search/replace, copy/paste) to the more complex (Customizing sections to each country, Google searches of Wikipedia to find relevant articles, etc.).
This project is very important, because information is only useful if you can find it, and these pages show you what's here on Wikipedia without you having to guess at what to type in a search box.
To give you an idea of what these pages will look like when complete, here are the most complete ones so far:
- Topic outline of France
- Topic outline of Iceland
- Topic outline of Japan
- Topic outline of Thailand
- Topic outline of Taiwan
If you are interested in joining in on the fun, please drop me a note.
Sincerely,
The Transhumanist 03:20, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

Geography WikiProject update
We've been steadily developing the set of country outlines, and they are getting close to being ready to move to article space. There's over two hundred of them, so when the move takes place it will be a pretty big event.
Penubag has been hard at work creating the images for awards for this project, in preparation for a collaborative contest we will be hosting that is expected to attract new editors to the team.
In the meantime, I and a few others have been working on 3 fronts:
- On the outlines in article space to complete them so they will be good examples for editors working on the rest of the set.
- Adding or correcting other data (fixing redlinks, filling in blanks, etc.) in the overall set. This is the main type of work participants in "the contest" will be doing. The reason we're doing some of this now is to get a feel for it, to develop the fastest methods for each type of task.
- Improving the overall design and implenting changes on all 247 pages, whether in article space or not.
The main thing that needs to be done to the outlines so that they can be moved to article space is correct and complete the government branches sections, many of which include incorrect information that was placed there as temporary data by a template when these pages were created (in order to match the most countries and cut down on the work load).
We're looking for editors who love to work on lots of pages fast, who use or would like to use advanced tools like AWB and Linky. Most of the tasks entail working on a specific item on all of the pages in the set.
We're having a blast.
If you'd like to join in on the fun, drop me a note.

Another country outline moved to article space!
Topic outline of Zimbabwe is now in article space. It still needs images and some bluelinking, and is undoubtedly missing some relevant links.
Please take a look at it. You will no doubt spot things you can easily fix that I overlooked.

Image copyright problem with File:400 logo lista.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:400 logo lista.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}}
(to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

ICMLPO and Hoxhaism
Hi. Please take note that the parties participating in ICMLPO don't describe themselves as Hoxhaist. Most of them consider Hoxha as a great revolutionar, most of them critise Maoism but they don't use the term "Hoxhaism" as far as I know. Thanks, Magioladitis (talk) 00:24, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
- Hi. I agree with Magioladitis on this. The term 'Hoxhaism' is a label that is quite different from say Trotskyism and Maoism, and should be avoided for classifications of parties at wikipedia. Also, its good to use references, I feel sometimes descriptions of parties get somewhat arbitrary. --Soman (talk) 00:30, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
- Also, 'ICMPLO (U&S)' is a name not used outside of wikipedia, the tag (Unity and Struggle) is added for wiki disambiguation purposes. Its better to just link International Conference of Marxist-Leninist Parties and Organizations. --Soman (talk) 00:31, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:New social democratic party of macedonia logo.gif)
Thanks for uploading File:New social democratic party of macedonia logo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Just interested...
I'm intrigued as to why you do not like the Strict Baptists, made clear by your misrepresentation of them on Wikipedia? Navy Tulips (talk) 10:56, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
Response
Please accept my apologies if it was not you who made some of the more derrogatory comments on the Strict baptist page. Wikipedia informed me that some of the anonymous posts were made from the same IP address as 'gr8opinionater', therefore I presumed it was you. Sorry if not.
As a Christian who currently attends a Strict Baptist chapel, I am concerned that the webpage should at least not represent us inaccurately. Navy Tulips (talk) 07:27, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
Request for help
I thought it might be a good idea to run a contest or two through the Countries WikiProject to attract editors to improve country coverage on Wikipedia, especially the country outlines.
I noticed you are a member of the WikiProject, and was wondering if you could help.
I've posted a message at Countries WikiProject talk page to get discussion started on what the awards programs should be and how they should be run.
Your ideas and feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Far-right userboxes
Hi Gr8. I notice that you created a number of userboxes representing far-right poltical positions, even though this is completely contrary to your own political views, judging by your userpage. I'm a bit confused as to why you would choose to do this. Maybe you are just obsessed with userboxes.
I wonder if you considered at the time that this may have consitituted doing a sort of minor marketing job on behalf of the far-right, and that maybe it would be a good thing in the name of anti-fascism if you deleted them.
'Scuse me for poking my nose in, and have a nice day whether or not you decide to pay any attention to me. --FormerIP (talk) 22:54, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
- PS I notice from your comment when someone else suggested the Nazi userbox should be deleted that you are of the view that people should have to opportunity to express themselves no matter how awful their views are.
- But do you have to actively help them? In Real Life, would it be acceptable to stack chairs at their meetings in the name of "supporting free speech". I'm confused. But, like I say, have a nice day. --FormerIP (talk) 23:12, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Democratic Left Alliance logo.gif)
Thanks for uploading File:Democratic Left Alliance logo.gif.
You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 07:42, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Infoboxes
Hi, a number of issues: I really think it makes no sense linking those colors everywhere (see history pages!), also adding http is pointless, as websites don't use it anymore or just add it automatically.
As for PSOE, just adding there again Democratic socialism was not of much use, as I think someone had already argued at your talk. Regards, Miacek and his crime-fighting dog (woof!) 19:26, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
