[edit]Hello, I'm Mutt Lunker. I noticed that you made one or more changes to an article, Edinburgh, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. - @Mutt Lunker: Thanks for the "good faith" tag. I transferred it from Scots Wikipedia, so I assume it's correct, but I agree that I shouldn't have added it without a source. I can find uses in primary sources (e.g. The National Scots-language articles); are these acceptable? Or does it have to be a dictionary or something? – Gormflaith (talk) 22:19, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
- Regarding the use of Wikipedia as a source, and why that is to be avoided, you can check out WP:CIRCULAR; the rest of the policy should also be informative. Also, I haven't participated much in the Scots Wikipedia for a number of years but, unless things have changed lately, the only regular contributors there were not native speakers which isn't to say that the content has no validity but caution would be advised. The terms you added are reasonably familiar jokey colloquial pronunciation spellings but I think it would be pushing it to give them the status of legit Scots. All the best. Nice job!
[edit]Good job with all your redirects! Reading the names of all the pages linking specifically to Chrodegang made me laugh as I went through them - so thanks for that :) I see you're a fairly new editor so if you ever need any help feel free to reach out! - @Semmendinger: Thanks! I've been on Wiktionary for a bit, but Wikipedia is pretty new to me. I'll be sure to reach out if I find myself stuck in Wikipedia's huge amount of policies and unwritten rules :) – Julia (talk) 17:24, 25 May 2018 (UTC)

Nepolitan language code
[edit]Just FYI on edits like this the lang code for the Neapolitan family is nap and not nea which is the code for the Ngadha language of Indonesia.Le Deluge (talk) 11:10, 6 June 2018 (UTC)
- @Le Deluge: I don't know why that happened. All the other edits I made (I think) were with
nap
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Thanks for telling me though, I don't want to be sprinkling wrong ISO codes all over Wikipedia. – Julia ☺ 12:42, 6 June 2018 (UTC)- No worries, I know how easy it is for things to slip through when you're doing a lot, and you can see how your subconscious was thinking with nea! The only other one was Acquappesa - I only caught them because I was working through red-link categories and they were automatically putting themselves in Category:Articles containing Eastern Ngad'a-language text.Le Deluge (talk) 13:00, 6 June 2018 (UTC)
Removal of demographies
[edit]Hi! I removed them because: 1) they were added by a bot a lot of years ago; 2) therefore they are very difficult to update. Thanks--'''Attilios''' (talk) 10:00, 14 July 2018 (UTC)
Native names and pronunciations
[edit]Hi Julia,
Thank you for your edits. Just one thing: please do not paste native names and especially pronunciations without making sure the latter correctly match the help page they link to on Wikpedia, it may be misleading for some readers. Concerning names of places in Italy, do not hesitate do ask for my help, if you need any. Keep up the good work! イヴァンスクルージ九十八(会話) 18:11, 4 September 2018 (UTC)

Garza and Schwartz
[edit]Is Alicia Garza's birth name Schwartz? The New Yorker just said that she grew up using that name, which is not the same as saying she was born with it. I see that her stepfather is Jewish; what is his last name? If he's a Schwartz then her birth name is very likely something else. Binksternet (talk) 00:04, 19 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Binksternet: I changed it because the wording was awkward, not thinking that "grew up as" probably doesn't mean "born as". I'll change it, thanks for pointing that out. Julia ☺ 00:13, 19 June 2020 (UTC)
Saint-Mathieu moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Saint-Mathieu, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Celestina007 (talk) 17:51, 19 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Celestina007: It's a disambiguation page, why was it moved? Julia ☺ 17:53, 19 July 2020 (UTC)
- Well, I moved it back, because I'm assuming you made an error. Julia ☺ 20:21, 19 July 2020 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Inuktitut-language surnames
[edit]A tag has been placed on Category:Inuktitut-language surnames requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! [edit]Speedy deletion nomination of List of people with surname Routledge
[edit]Hello Linshee,
Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Joseywales1961, and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, List of people with surname Routledge, for deletion, because there's already a page about that topic at Routledge. Please don't be discouraged; we appreciate your effort in creating new articles. To avoid this in the future, consider using the search function to find pages that already cover what you want to write about.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.
For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Joseywales1961}}
. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~
. Thanks!

@Joseywales1961: Yes I was about to nominate myself. I'm dealing with this thing right now; I was going to split Routledge (surname) into a condensed version of the History... page and make another article with the list of people, but have since decided to keep it all in Routledge (surname) which I am working on now. Thanks, Linshee ☺ 13:57, 2 November 2021 (UTC)
