Anarchism
[edit]Hi Gorgonopsi,
I saw your work on articles related to anarchism and wanted to say hello, as I work in the topic area too. If you haven't already, you might want to watch our noticeboard for Wikipedia's coverage of anarchism, which is a great place to ask questions, collaborate, discuss style/structure precedent, and stay informed about content related to anarchism. Take a look for yourself!
And if you're looking for other juicy places to edit, consider expanding a stub, adopting a cleanup category, or participating in one of our current formal discussions.
Feel free to say hi on my talk page and let me know if these links were helpful (or at least interesting). Hope to see you around. czar 13:57, 20 November 2023 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Wa State
[edit]A tag has been placed on Category:Wa State indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Liz Read! Talk! 22:13, 9 January 2024 (UTC)

Euahlayi People's Republic moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Euahlayi People's Republic. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and 90% of the article is unsourced.. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. scope_creepTalk 04:16, 28 January 2024 (UTC)
Imgarri dialect moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Imgarri dialect, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. [edit]Hello, I'm Mlkj. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to Edward Campbell (politician)—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. Mlkj (talk) 16:32, 24 February 2024 (UTC)

- You're right, I apologize for the wrong revert. I saw that you added and removed Category:British Fascists, and that looked like the sort of editing tests vandals do, but I should have read the article more closely. I apologize again! Mlkj (talk) 16:52, 24 February 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of David Tully
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on David Tully requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Twinkle1990 (talk) 15:55, 3 March 2024 (UTC)

The article Communist Party of Guernsey has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
No secondary sources, fails WP:ORGCRIT.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. AusLondonder (talk) 11:37, 15 March 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Duma Polska
[edit]Hello, Gorgonopsi,
Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Cremastra and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, Duma Polska, for deletion, because a consensus decision previously decided that it wasn't suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. If you wish to restore a page deleted via a deletion discussion, please use the deletion review process instead, rather than reposting the content of the page.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.
For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Cremastra}}

Hi. Changes to categorisation (just as anything else) should be verifiable (per WP:CATV). And changes to categorisation (just as anything else) should be explained (per WP:ES).
I have reverted several of your changes (as, I note, have other editors) which added "regional" political parties in the UK to the category of parties representing "minorities". If you feel that people from the north of England, or the Shetland islands or Scotland (or women for that matter) are somehow a "minority", then please provide references and explanation for those changes. (In what sense are these groups "minorities" - whether in their own localities or the UK as a whole or in Europe as a whole?)
Otherwise, absent a reference or other justification to support these changes, it doesn't seem reasonable to suggest that all "regional" political parties are (de facto) representative of "minority" groups.... Guliolopez (talk) 13:31, 3 October 2024 (UTC)
- Orcadians aswell as northern english in these parties identifying as Northumbrian the criteria i was mostly using was representing one specific group of people. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gorgonopsi (talk • contribs) 13:38, 3 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hi. In terms of:
- WP:CATV, the "
Categorization of articles must be verifiable [and] It should be clear from verifiable information in the article why it was placed in each of its categories
". There is nothing in the Women's Equality Party article or the Northern Independence Party which describes women or Northumbrians as a "minority". Or describes either party as representing a minority. - WP:CATDESC, if the title of the category isn't enough to identify what its members should include, the "
desired contents of the category should be described on the category page, similar to how the list selection criteria are described in a stand-alone list
". While the categories you are adding (and creating) do not do this, the word "minority" does NOT simply mean "one specific group of people". (People who like Taylor Swift are a "specific group of people". That doesn't make them a minority group.) - WP:CATDEF, articles should not be categorised arbitrarily. Categorisation would ideally be based on a "
defining characteristic [..which..] reliable sources commonly and consistently refer to in describing the topic
". The approach you describe (applying your own broad interpretation of what "minority" means) doesn't appear to align with this conventiom.
- WP:CATV, the "
- If, as seems to be the case, you plan to continue creating and populating these categories, I would recommend that you raise a thread at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Politics. And perhaps seek input on the approach (with consideration to the related guidelines) before mass-moving or mass-adding categories. Thanks. Guliolopez (talk) 13:56, 3 October 2024 (UTC)
- I notice that you continue to create "Political parties of minorities in [country X]" type categories. And to populate those (and existing) categories with organisations that do not appear to represent minorities and organisations that do not appear to be political parties. As above, I have opened a related thread at 'Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Politics'. Your input is more than welcome. Guliolopez (talk) 12:55, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
- Indigenismo or minority ethnic groups are ones that are of minorities. Gorgonopsi (talk) 12:56, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
- I would contend that not all indigenous groups are "minorities". Ethnic Bavarians are not a minority in Bavaria for example. Or people from the North of England in the North of England. In my own opinion, regionalist/nativist/separatist/nationalist parties do not (almost to the reverse of your own logic) represent "minorities". As above, please consider providing input in the related discussion. So that a clear inclusion criteria can be agreed. And perhaps confirmed with related WP:CATDESCs. Thanks. Guliolopez (talk) 13:11, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
- Bavarians are Catholic whom are a minority group in germany whom some do consider seperate, including wikipedia Bavarians. Gorgonopsi (talk) 13:49, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
- To confirm, that Wikipedia article does NOT describe Bavarians as a "minority". Not in Bavaria. Nor anywhere else in Germany. Guliolopez (talk) 14:29, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
- they also speak Bavarian language, You don't have the worlds oldest kingdom up until the 1918 without developing your own culture. I'm not Bavarian but Wikipedia still seems to retain that bavaria is a seperate identity. Gorgonopsi (talk) 13:51, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
- What is it about "developing your own culture" or "speaking your own language" would make you (or me) a "minority"? In your (or my) own country? Japan has its own culture and language. It doesn't make Japanese people a minority - certainly not in Japan. Why would Bavarians be considered a minority in Bavaria? Regardless, and as already highlighted, WP:CATV and WP:CATDEF expect that categorisation be based on clear and verifiable information in the article, ideally represent a defining characteristic of the topic and be supported by reliable sources - that commonly and consistently refer to the characteristic when describing the topic. None of that is the case for your classification of the Bavaria Party as a "political party of a minority in Germany". Please continue this discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Politics. I won't respond further here. Guliolopez (talk) 14:26, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
- Bavarians are considered a Minority within Germany. i don't see how that was hard to grasp. that the majority of Germans aren't Bavarian. Gorgonopsi (talk) 16:19, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
- Prove it. Bring your sources to the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Politics. (Potentially including reliable sources which commonly and consistently refer to Bavarians or "right-wing extremist" Saxons as "minority groups" within Germany, Northerners or women or feminists as minorities in England, and vegetarians or Italian-American fascists as "minority groups" within the US. And/or, ideally, sources which describe any of the related political organisations as ones which represent minorities in those countries). As noted by several editors, secessionist, nationalist, ethnocentrist, indigenist or special interest groups do not automatically represent "minorities". Especially where the group in question is, arguably, in a majority in the region in which the organisation is based. Guliolopez (talk) 16:40, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
- they were made for the interests of certain minority group. even if I personally disagree with these right wing groups the inclusion criteria. also since you've requested me to prove that the majority of germans aren't bavarians. The Bavarian language is spoken by around 15 Million and considered a vulnerable Language. the population of Germany is 82,719,540 so to claim that Bavarians constitute a majority of Germans is purely ludicrous on your end. Gorgonopsi (talk) 13:37, 6 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hi. RE:
- "
The Bavarian language is spoken by around 15 Million and considered a vulnerable Language. the population of Germany is 82,719,540 so [Bavarians are a minority]"
. That is not a reliable reference. That is original research. Please provide a reliable reference which describes the Bavaria Party as representing a minority. - "
to claim that Bavarians constitute a majority of Germans is purely ludicrous on your end
". I did not claim that "Bavarians constitute a majority [in Germany]". Or anything like it. But several parties, which you have classified as representing minorities, state that they represent groups which other articles describe as a majority. (Like the National Democratic Party in Namibia, which states that it "[had its base] amongst the Ovambo people". Which the linked article describes as the "single largest ethnic group in Namibia, accounting for about half of the population". How, by any measure, is the "single largest ethnic group" a minority? And how do the article/body/references/context support the classification of the National Democratic Party as a "political party of a minority in Namibia".) - "
purely ludicrous on your end
". Please read WP:CIVIL.
- "
- Thanks. Guliolopez (talk) 23:28, 6 October 2024 (UTC)

- Hi. RE:
- they were made for the interests of certain minority group. even if I personally disagree with these right wing groups the inclusion criteria. also since you've requested me to prove that the majority of germans aren't bavarians. The Bavarian language is spoken by around 15 Million and considered a vulnerable Language. the population of Germany is 82,719,540 so to claim that Bavarians constitute a majority of Germans is purely ludicrous on your end. Gorgonopsi (talk) 13:37, 6 October 2024 (UTC)
- Bavarians are considered a Minority within Germany. i don't see how that was hard to grasp. that the majority of Germans aren't Bavarian. Gorgonopsi (talk) 16:19, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
- Bavarians are Catholic whom are a minority group in germany whom some do consider seperate, including wikipedia Bavarians. Gorgonopsi (talk) 13:49, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
- Indigenismo or minority ethnic groups are ones that are of minorities. Gorgonopsi (talk) 12:56, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hi. In terms of:
Take just a handful of your edits today... what minority does the Independent Guanacaste Party represent? Or Winaq? Or the Peruvian Nationalist Party? --Soman (talk) 00:36, 5 October 2024 (UTC)
- Historically Native Americans. whom are a minority within south american countries. Gorgonopsi (talk) 13:32, 6 October 2024 (UTC)
- Literally you posted a native american name of a party that is indigenist yet cant join the dots Gorgonopsi (talk) 13:37, 6 October 2024 (UTC)
- The point here is that indigenist parties where the majority are indigenous aren't minority parties. --Soman (talk) 14:46, 6 October 2024 (UTC)
- You do not seem to understand what indigenismo is. its an ideology of Indigenous Liberation, it refers to the pursuit of greater social and political inclusion for indigenous peoples in Latin America. Ethnocacerism is Indigenous Ethnonationalism. Gorgonopsi (talk) 15:52, 6 October 2024 (UTC)

WP:CATV
[edit]Per WP:CATV, categories added to articles must be verifiable in the article body. You created Category:Political parties of minorities in China and have been adding it to multiple articles without adding additional context or sources. It appears to me that you are using your exclusive definition of what a minority might be in China and its claimed territories.
For example, adding the category to the articles of political parties in Macau is non-sensical because they do not represent the minority in the Macau SAR. Who exactly is the minority? Macau is made up of mostly Han Chinese, like in Mainland China. Cantonese speakers are the majority in Macau, and although they are the minority in Mainland China, the Macau parties do not run in elections on the mainland. That is why you will not find reliable sources describing the parties as "parties of minorities". If you do not cite such sources, you cannot add the category with terminology you coined to articles. - @Yue and @Gorgonopsi, this is very similar to the concern that I had raised above and at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Politics#"political parties of minorities". That, absent references to support WP:CATV and/or a WP:CATDESC that more firmly establishes what constitutes a minority (in a political sense), these categories are (to my mind) being applied arbitrarily and subjectively. Almost to the point that just about ANY type of group has/can be classified as a minority. (Pensioners in England? Minority. Women in the UK? Minority. Bavarian nationalists? Minority. Single largest ethnic group in Namibia? Minority. Religious people in Switzerland? Minority. Right-wing, secessionist or regionalist groups anywhere? Minority.) @Gorgonopsi - Multiple editors have raised concerns about the approach taken here - and yet you persist with this broad and (clearly) contentious categorisation. Can you consider taking in the feedback please? Guliolopez (talk) 10:40, 24 October 2024 (UTC)

Hi Gorgonopsi, why have you added a whole lot of regionalist parties to these categories? For example Savoy Region Movement? Also other non-party organisations such as Bahrain Freedom Movement? AusLondonder (talk) 12:06, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
- Savoy Region is for the Arpitan people, Bahrain Freedom Movement is for Baharna living in United Kingdom] Gorgonopsi (talk) 12:18, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
- The Bahrain Freedom Movement is not a political party though. I can't see anything to support the claim the Savoy Region Movement represents a minority, either. What about the Labour Muslim Network? Again, not a political party. AusLondonder (talk) 12:32, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
