The article Elizabeth Campbell, Marchioness of Breadalbane has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
No significant coverage in multiple reliable secondary sources, fails WP:BIO.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Pilaz (talk) 05:06, 30 March 2024 (UTC)
Copyright Violations
Walter Scott (MP for Roxburghshire), an article you created is almost entirely copied from this article. I see no evidence that any of that material is public domain, or otherwise freely licensed. You cannot just paste in copyrighted material even if you provide a citation. -- Whpq (talk) 03:21, 3 April 2024 (UTC)

- @Викидим He is called this in Crusader Kings II. GoldenBootWizard276 (talk) 05:29, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Викидим I am blocked and as such can you please include the preceeding information in the discussion. GoldenBootWizard276 (talk) 14:12, 13 April 2024 (UTC)
- As you might know, it is against the rules to edit on behalf of a blocked user, see WP:BLOCK#Proxying. So I have to form my own opinion first. When I followed the link provided by you, I hit a computer game and stopped right there, since a redirect from a title of a fictional character to an article about a real-world person makes little sense anyhow, and I did not research further. Викидим (talk) 17:30, 13 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Викидим: The redirect is not from a "title of a fictional character to an article about a real-world person". It is a redirect from a title of a real-world person in a fictional game to an article about a real-world person. GoldenBootWizard276 (talk) 20:21, 15 April 2024 (UTC)
- There is no escape from the fact that nobody outside the game uses this title. The real person's titles were different and IMHO would not have triggered an RfD. If you check the redirect target, the title "sultan" is conspicuously absent there. So here we have a case of game imitating the reality, not replicating it. Викидим (talk) 20:34, 15 April 2024 (UTC)

Unblock request 2
GoldenBootWizard276 (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
I would like to apologise for any copyright violations that I have committed and I can assure that I will not commit any in the future. I will now answer in my own words the following questions which were asked by Yamla in my previous unblock request:
- What is copyright?
- Copyright is a type of "intellectual property" (IP), which relates to the right to copy creative works, these could include books, movies, paintings, photographs, movies, songs, plays, computer software, sculptures, and architecture.
- Copyright is intended to protect the rights of authors, to financially incentivise the creation of creative works, and to prevent the unauthorised copying of and profiting from works which the author has created.
- Copyright applies only to the tangible expression of an idea and not to the idea itself (this is known as the "idea–expression dichotomy"). Furthermore, in order to obtain copyright protection, works must meet the "threshold of originality", meaning that they must be sufficiently original in order to obtain protection. This means that copyright does not protect names, titles, slogans or short phrases, which in some cases may be protected as trademarks.
- There are several limitations and exceptions to copyright which may vary by jurisdiction, such as "fair use" and "fair dealing". Fair use is usually decided by a court of law with several factors being used to determine whether or not something is fair use.
- The public domain (PD) refers to creative works which are not protected by any intellectual property laws and can therefore be used by anyone without obtaining permission and cannot be owned by anyone.
- How is Wikipedia licenced?
- Most of Wikipedia's texts and many of its images are co-licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0) and the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) (unversioned, with no invariant sections, front-cover texts, or back-cover texts).
- Text contributed directly to Wikipedia is licensed publicly for reuse under the CC BY-SA and GFDL (unversioned, with no invariant sections, front-cover texts, or back-cover texts).
- The CC BY-SA 4.0 license permits content to be shared and adapted under the condition that proper attribution is given to the original author, and all derivatives are distributed under the same license as the original with no additional restrictions.
- The GFDL allows for material licensed to be copied, redistributed and modified (with the exception of "invariant sections") but requires all copies and derivatives to be licensed under the same license.
- Why is copyrighted content not allowed on Wikipedia?
- Copyrighted content is not allowed as it would infringe on the rights of the original authors and make the Wikimedia Foundation liable to lawsuits. Furthermore, the use of copyrighted conent hurts the ability for Wikipedia's readers and end users to reuse the content under the free license.
- Under what circumstances can we use copyrighted content?
- Copyrighted content which is licensed under a compatible free or public-domain equivalent license such as Creative Commons or the GFDL can be used on Wikipedia, provided the conditions of the license are met. Content in which the author has given permission for it to be used solely on Wikipedia, is not permitted.
- Non-free content is permitted as long as it meets the 10 criteria of the Non-free content criteria also known as the "Exemption Doctrine Policy".
- How do you intend to avoid violating the copyright policy in the future?
- I intend to avoid violating the copyright policy in the future by not committing the same mistakes that I have made in the past such as being under the assumption that close paraphrasing did not count as copyright infringement. In the future, I shall take better care to not commit copyright infringement such as by noting key information from multiple sources (rather than using phrases) and then revisiting it after some time to clear the original phrasing from my mind.
