This is a courtesy notice to you. I see by a notation that on Sept 23, 2011, you deleted a Talk Page for the Goodman-LeGrand House. As far as I can tell, you only deleted a talk page by that name. I have just today created the article for the Goodman-LeGrand House, so I have also created a talk page. If you have any questions, please let me know. Maile66 (talk) 19:40, 1 January 2012 (UTC)

I don't know your position on Futurama, but I do know you are an admin who frequently edits TV show articles. There is a discussion on whether Futurama episodes should be listed by the intended production order (which is also the broadcast order in many countries and is the order the DVDs use) or the US broadcast order (which the producers shun). The argument for the production order is that it is the true order that Futurama should be watched in (per the producers) and it is the only order consistent world-wide (as all the DVDs/BDs across the globe use this order). Pretty much all past discussions have had consensuses for using the production order; the last discussion was in September if I recall correctly. The argument for using the US broadcast order is that many casual American readers are confused that the order here does not match the order that IMDB and other sites use (though it should be noted that the pages do clearly state they do not use the broadcast order).

I was wondering if you could give your input on the discussion. Thegreyanomaly (talk) 19:40, 1 January 2012 (UTC)

Not J Brito again...

Hi Gogo, could you consider salting this page due to the number of recreations. We had the same problem with its caps brother J BRITO. Or if its the same IP perhaps a block. Thanks Pol430 talk to me 23:00, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

I salted J Brito‎ and handed out a few blocks after figuring out which seems to be the earliest account created. Hopefully that will put a stop to this nonsense. I don't know if they are all the same IP as I'm not a CheckUser, but it is likely the same person from the Dominican Republic making all of the edits. I wouldn't be surprised if it is the artist, too. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 23:12, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

Hey Guy, you deleted the page I was creating before I got a chance to edit in all the info. I had the dudes name, birth place and all that jazz and I saved it so I could get the proper citations for his musical work and stuff.

talk on (non) article removed

A few days ago I made some corrections to various entries in the encyclopedia regarding a friend, Adam Recht. I noticed at that time that he did not have a page of his own, though he was mentioned on other pages (fewer now, as I was actually mostly removing incorrect references to him, though some still show if searching on his name). I did not start an article on him, as last time (many years ago now) I started an article on a much more famous friend, it was unceremoniously deleted on copyright grounds (despite my having permission, which I will clearly state on the discussion page in future). I did however start a talk page with some starting facts and references, in the hope that someone else might at least create a stub to which I could contribute. You deleted this, G8, however I would suggest that whilst it may have been appropriate to flag it for deletion, thus giving me the opportunity to attempt to justify my starting the discussion, to delete it outright was rather heavy handed and possibly not in keeping with the G8 note regarding "excludes any page that is useful to Wikipedia, and in particular deletion discussions that are not logged elsewhere".

I do not know where I should be suggesting an article be started, and anyone seeing his name on another page would at least have been able to see his IMDB page and personal website.

I write mainly because I have often found Wikipedia (rather than you personally) very frustrating and unwelcoming to anyone making all but small corrections (which I generally seem to get away with without a problem). Adagio67 (talk) 14:34, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

deleted talk page

A friend decided to start a talk page regarding the many news articles that appeared during both my political campaigns. The idea was to start engaging in some meaningful debates over these news articles. You deleted the page before we had a chance to get started. All you are doing is discouraging people from sharing ideas. You should be deleted! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.248.134.196 (talk) 06:55, 6 January 2012 (UTC)

Well, I will ignore your personal attack for the moment. Since you did not identify which talk page you are referring to and I really don't want to go wading through the thousands of talk pages that I have deleted, I really can't comment specifically on why your talk page was deleted besides that it was likely an orphaned talk page. Are you notable enough for inclusion on Wikipedia? Are you an elected international, national or sub-national office member? If you are just running a campaign to get elected, then you are probably not notable. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 07:13, 6 January 2012 (UTC)

My recent edits

Before I can be reported to the "vandalism-in-progress" page or something and then blocked, I would like to let you know that I am getting really pissed off at reverts of my edits mis-identified as vandalism. I am intending to be a good contributor to Wikipedia, and I don't want to get into any more trouble. I think there is some defect in the bot that keeps reverting my edits. Please look into the situation and get back to me on that one. 69.123.125.243 (talk) 23:09, 7 January 2012 (UTC)

I am not sure why you are asking me about this as I do not run the ClueBot NG anti-vandalism bot that you are having issues with and I have not had any previous interaction with you unless you have edited under a different IP address. You will have to ask the ClueBot NG operators why it thought your edit was vandalism. I recommend that you report a false positive at User:ClueBot NG/FalsePositives. Just a hint, but yelling and cursing at the operators like you did here is not likely to get things fixed. Instead, report it through the false positive reporting page. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 05:20, 8 January 2012 (UTC)

Nicole Robinson

The edits I made to Nicole Robinsons info are facts. She has lost custody of her children for the reasons stated and I am in possession of the court documents stating so. I am unfortunately directly involved in this matter and am in close daily contact with one of the children. My reason for providing such an update is to educate and pass on information. Nicole has sent me countless telling me to take care of her child etc. I would gladly forward them if it would support anything here. The honest truth is -- is that Nicole has been declared an unfit mother by the State of New York-- I have this proof. Adolph Rupp Page

I saw your notice on my talk page. A bit of background... The situation has been ongoing for a few weeks now. A few weeks ago I went on the Adolph Rupp page to read the history of the coach. I was curious about his past and I did what I usually do to learn about something quickly, I checked his wikipedia page. When I read the page, I found it loaded with points that were not cited, extremely subjective, not in a neutral point of view and just generally slanted towards making the individual looks as good as possible. Many of the points that were cited were cited from a popular UK basketball blog. I began to make some smaller edits and removing content that was not acceptable to an encyclopedia. Every edit that I made was reverted immediately by the same user. I also attempted to add in a section about some serious violations of NCAA rules that happened when Adolph Rupp was the coach at UK. Essentially, UK basketball was the first school to receive any penalty from the NCAA for rules violations. I added what I thought was a fair and objective section on the event that I cited to a few unbiased sources on the web. My edits were again reverted by the user. He claimed that my edits were not factual and completely inaccurate. At this point I became frustrated and alerted another editor of this situation. This editor went through and made some changes to the page based on the same issues that I wrote about above, the article was not meeting academic standards at all. He was very helpful and neutral in his edits. However, the user who was reverting all these edits became angry and combative to the changes being made to the page. Eventually, we were able to reach consensus on a few points. However, this user kept changing the page even after we agreed on the edits to be made. He also added all the other sections back in that were not written in a neutral point of view. A few days ago, he made over 45 edits to the page. This user has a long history of making biased edits to UK basketball pages. He also has a long history of reverting any other edits to the pages that he personally disagrees with.

There are no other editors of the page to discuss this with. This guy is the only person and he reverts literally every edit I make. I am unsure as to how to resolve this issue. This user continues to add things in this article like "Rupp's overall philosophy to sports and basketball was that victory was paramount." When I tried to remove this to tell him that this is not up to wikipedia's standards, he reverts every time and tells me that "One of the things that peope said that made Rupp unique was his extreme love of victory. Once again, common historical knowledge with good sources." I don't know of a sports coach that didn't have an extreme love of victory. These types of changes don't belong on wikipedia. Gogo Dodo, about the Adolph Rupp page.....

I am reverting edits on the Adolph Rupp page that I feel take away from the factual basis of the page. All the information I have provided on this page is done in good faith, researched, and listed with reliable sources. I have tried to use wording that is unbiased, and simply relay facts, backed up with verifiable research. An consensus between myself and a Administrator who watches and edits this page was reached weeks ago, and the all the information that both he and I added was researched extensively, with sources listed.

You should know that this page has to regularly protected from vandalism, and is often vandalized by unregistered users, and users creating multiple accounts for such a purpose.Jbfwildcat (talk) 02:29, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the help with the revert warring issue. As you can see by my talk page, and archive as well, an issue has been had for the past couple weeks or so over neutrality on the article and I was unceremoniously thrown between the two to fix it. A lot of it is simply re-wording it to fix the neutrality, but one editor wants to keep it the way it is and the other wants to completely remove it. I'm about at wits' end with dealing with both of them and I've tried to remain impartial throughout the whole ordeal and make the article factual, but both are very stubborn in their ways to keep it how they like it. Hopefully the protection will give them a break and we can work something out. — Moe ε 05:51, 23 January 2012 (UTC)
I browsed your talk page, but it was a little TL;DR on a topic that I'm not familiar with nor particularly interested in. Both of the editors should have been blocked, but I was feeling kind since they never issued the standard 3RR warning even though you had mentioned it couple of times to them. Good luck on working something out. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 06:12, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

Music Radio Creative page

Hi Gogo Dodo,

We have recently attempted to update the details on the Wikipedia page relating to our company (Music Radio Creative Ltd) and the page was deleted (we were told that the details we try to inpu are untrue - for example the fact that company is based in the UK as supposed to US - well we are UK registered company so I am not sure what else is there to say!) As we are reputable UK based company we would like to hold a Wikipedia page with accurate details on there. How could we rectify the problem?

Friendly question

Hi GD - just wondering why this block was necessary after only 2 edits? Is there a long term abuse pattern with this website that I'm missing? Also - popups is showing the account is both blocked and locked, something I've never seen before... do you know what that is? Thanks  7  07:24, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

I blocked Janicejohnson11 because I ran across two other accounts that were spamming the same thing or similar things: Janicejohnson1 and Liposuctionbeverlyhills. The random first name, lower case last name, with a number and no spaces is a pattern that I've noticed lately with the spammers. Like Scotkaiser95, Stellamercer 9, and Joannawinston919. They do the whole SEO link thing on their talk page right after account creation and make zero other edits.
As for the LOCKED thing, that would be a global lock in lieu of being globally blocked. See here, too. And the log entry on meta. The domain that were spamming got globally blacklisted, too. So the spammer got noticed by somebody else, too. They also made a mistake and edited while logged out, 202.53.74.2 (talk · contribs · WHOIS). -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 07:55, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
Got it - thanks.  7  09:35, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
No problem. The locked thing confused me when I first saw it, too. I was like "Locked? I didn't lock them out of anything." I had to read the source code to figure out what it meant and even then I was confused. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 17:11, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

Hello, I'm new to the author side of Wikipedia and I attempted to add an external link to the Wiki page for the game Darkspore. I'm the author of a video game review blog that was created with the sole purpose of providing 'gamers' with information I've collected through playing a particular game. In short, I like to think of my reviews first and foremost as a resource for others to use in order to learn more about a game before they decide whether or not to buy it for themselves. I believe my edit was promptly deleted on the grounds that it was made purely in the spirit of self-promotion, which is certainly not the case as my identity remains on anonymous on my blog as well as on Wikipedia. Please let me know if there's anything else I can do to clear up the matter or if my personal resource just isn't acceptable. Thank you very much. What can I do next?

Hi GD,

I noticed you have deleted a Page I created for TodaysDraw.com. I have reviewed the Wikipedia policies and I do realize that I was in violation. I was not trying to promote the website but trying to create a buisness page since a lot of our subscribers want simple facts about us.

I have two requests:

1. Can you guied me about how I can go about creating a business page. Just to clarify, I have put a request for an article creation by editors.

2. When people search for todaysdraw, the deleted, Wikipedia page is coming up. That is bad for us. Can I redirect the page or request for a userfication?

Please advise. Am really interested in creating a positive experience here at Wikipedia and do not want to violate any policies, while providing information baout TodaysDraw.com

Thanks.

Hi GD,

Thanks for your response. Have noted ur feedbaack.

Please do restore and userfy the article. I understand that there will be no redirects. As long as we don't feature on a Google search/Deleted Wikipedia Page, we are good. Meanwhile, I will review the Business Page policies and only then consider creating a Business Page.

Thank you.

Lirfers

I noticed that User:Lirfers vandalized several UConn-related articles and then you blocked him for multiple accounts. We had an issue a couple months ago with vandalism on those same articles (Ray Reid) in particular. People were just adding nonsense to it. Someone said he was hit by a soccer ball at an Occupy Storrs protest, among other things. One of the members of Goal Patrol (fan group) is also a leader in Occupy Storrs and was really upset. So basically, being an experienced Wikipedia editor and a Goal Patrol member myself, I calmed him down and said I would watch the page more closely in the future and undo any changes as soon as I could. But it appears Lirfers vandalized it. I was in class at the time, but I see you managed to undo it pretty quickly. You blocked him, which is good, but I'm wondering if he has any other socks out there, especially since he's editing articles that had previously been targeted. Perhaps it's something to look into... MSU Interview

Dear Gogo Dodo,

My name is Jonathan Obar user:Jaobar, I'm a professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University and a Teaching Fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Program. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Wikipedia administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the community HERE, were it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.

So a few things about the interviews:

  • Interviews will last between 15 and 30 minutes.
  • Interviews can be conducted over skype (preferred), IRC or email. (You choose the form of communication based upon your comfort level, time, etc.)
  • All interviews will be completely anonymous, meaning that you (real name and/or pseudonym) will never be identified in any of our materials, unless you give the interviewer permission to do so.
  • All interviews will be completely voluntary. You are under no obligation to say yes to an interview, and can say no and stop or leave the interview at any time.
  • The entire interview process is being overseen by MSU's institutional review board (ethics review). This means that all questions have been approved by the university and all students have been trained how to conduct interviews ethically and properly.

Bottom line is that we really need your help, and would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you. If interested, please send me an email at obar@msu.edu (to maintain anonymity) and I will add your name to my offline contact list. If you feel comfortable doing so, you can post your name HERE instead.

If you have questions or concerns at any time, feel free to email me at obar@msu.edu. I will be more than happy to speak with you.

Thanks in advance for your help. We have a lot to learn from you.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Obar --Jaobar (talk) 19:35, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

Survivor Names

Hello. I noticed you reverted my edits to adding names to Survivor contestants (I apologize for using a random IP address beforehand). The reason you gave was "Rv, names as listed in show". However, I would like to point out that many other contestants didn't use their real names on the show, such as GC, Sugar and Bob in Gabon and I see no reason why Susie's was deleted exclusively. The same applies for all 23 articles I have edited to make better. Regards! ZephyrWind (talk) 03:55, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

Truco in Venezuela, speedy deletion

Why is this article set for speedy deletion? It is a local variant of an international game with it's own national history and game structure. Saying this article is unnecessary is like saying that the article on australian football is not necessary because we already have the one on association football. I intended to write a very complete article in the next few days. I will not continue working on this until I know my work will not be "speedy deleted" without the consensus of other authors who are knowledgeable in the topic. I was editing the content of the article while you were deleting it. All my content was gone because you deleted the article before I could make the first edit (less than 5 mins since its creation). Also, if you need the article to be complete in the first edit, then you don't understand how a wiki works. Articles will be stubs when they begin and grow into good articles. You are unnecessarily disrupting the work of editors and discouraging us with bureaucratic bs. Let us edit and stop excessively enforcing rules that hinder the progress of this encyclopedia. Hi Thank you for the "Welcome" and I do have a quick question ... I'm very new to this sorry!

I'm interested in electronic music and I like and follow the artist "Pepper MaShay". In one of Pepper's recent Twitter's she sent out to all her fans, she mentioned that her next single "A Little Closer" will be coming out soon on a U.S. Label called "Psychedelic Records". I was curious about this record company and searched on Wikipedia, but I didn't see it listed in the "P" section under record labels. So I did some more research on Google, Discogs, and iTunes, and found out this record label has a website and it has been around since at least 2001. I also found out they released another of Pepper MaShay's songs called "Beauty Shop" which was the theme song for the Queen Latifah movie "Beauty Shop" release by MGM Studios (seems like they have some pretty "major" stuff going on anyways) ... so if this record lable has been in existence for over a decade and is doing all this big time stuff I figured there should be a Wiki article or at least a Wiki link in the "P" section under record labels by this point?

Again, I'm very new to this "editing" so I apologize for my lack of experience in these matters, I'm not quite sure what are the proper requirements for including a record label article on Wikipedia. Can you tell me how do I properly submit this record label for a possible Wiki article?

I don't think I should write the article because I'm so new to this. So I'm wondering, is there a way I can send a "request" to someone on Wikipedia who could start an article about this particular record label?

Thanks so much! Lisa — Preceding unsigned comment added by Londongoagirl (talkcontribs) 04:05, 29 February 2012 (UTC)

OK, so this is my first reply. I hope it turns out correct. I found some more information about Psychedelic Records on the Sony "Acid Planet" website at this link: http://www.acidplanet.com/peppermashay On Psychedelic Records Pepper released “Beauty Shop,” which was used in the MGM Queen Latifah movie of the same name.--Londongoagirl (talk) 10:35, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
In case this is helpful to know, the Sony ACID Planet website is mentioned in the Sony ACID Pro page on Wikipedia at this link, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acid_Loops#ACID_Loops --Londongoagirl (talk) 10:41, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
Replied on your talk page. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 21:07, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
I contacted the label via email about the Sony Acid Planet article. Chris Davis at Psychedelic Records responded to my email and said that "Brian Harris" (President of Psychedelic Records) was specifically interviewed by "Steve Foldari" (an employee at Sony) who runs the Sony Acid Planet website and wrote that specific article. Chris Davis said that the label was in direct contact with Sony in order for that remix contest to have ever taken place. So to confirm this information, I then emailed Sony Acid Planet which verified there is an employee by the name of "Steve Foldari", who I then emailed directly. Steve Foldari then replied to my email saying specifically "Yes, record labels are in direct contact with Sony when Sony hosts remix contests on the Acid Planet website. The labels are actually the judges of the remix contest, so therefore a remix contest could not have taken place without permission from (and direct contact with) Psychedelic Records." Therefore, my research indicates that the Sony Acid Planet artcle was not written "in passing". I further verified a statement made in the Sony Acid Planet article about Psychedelic Records having released a Pepper MaShay CD entitled "Beauty Shop (The Remixes)". I verified there is actually a release of Pepper MaShay "Beautyshop (The Remixes)" on both Amazon and CD Baby. The Amazon link I found is: http://www.amazon.com/Beauty-Shop-The-Remixes/dp/B000QZXDVM/ref=ntt_mus_dp_dpt_2 --Londongoagirl (talk) 01:05, 15 March 2012 (UTC)
The CD Baby link I found is: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/electroillusion2 --Londongoagirl (talk) 01:05, 15 March 2012 (UTC)
There is no possibility that this Pepper MaShay "Beauty Shop" CD does not exist, because we can see it for sale on 2 websites. As I mentioned in my first message I am a fan of Pepper MaShay which is how I came across this label name (Psychedelic Records) in the first place. I have been to one of Pepper MaShay's live performances so I know she exists. There is also a Wiki article that verifies that Pepper MaShay herself does infact exist as a recording artist: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pepper_MaShay --Londongoagirl (talk) 01:05, 15 March 2012 (UTC)
Further research indicates, on that Pepper MaShay Wikipedia page it lists the CD "Beauty Shop".--Londongoagirl (talk) 01:05, 15 March 2012 (UTC)
I have purchased Pepper's CD "Beauty Shop (The Remixes)", so I am holding it in my hand right now, so that is a definite fact of reality that this CD exists. I do see a "Psychedelic Records" logo on the back of this CD. So the fact that I am holding it in my hands, and the fact that we can see this CD for sale on 2 websites is verification that the CD does in fact exist. If the CD exists, then the record label "Psychedelic Records" does in fact exist. (There is no other way around that logic). I'm really not sure how much more "proof" I can provide that the label does in fact exist other than that which I have just written, which is why I am asking for help in writing this article.--Londongoagirl (talk) 01:05, 15 March 2012 (UTC)
Here's another article about "Psychedelic Records" from 2005 http://www.24-7pressrelease.com/press-release/pepper-mashay-signs-with-psychedelic-records-3681.php --Londongoagirl (talk) 01:40, 15 March 2012 (UTC)

PowerDNS

Hi Dodo,

I am wondering if it would not be more accurate to also split the PowerDNS line in the comparision chart into one PowerDNS and one PowerDNS Recursor line - the same way as for Example Nominum CNS and Nominum Vantio are split.

At the same time this differences between the authoritative PowerDNS and the PowerDNS Recursor should be marked up accurately, for example that the latter does not support DNSSEC wheras PowerDNS does.

Could I ask you to have a quick look at something for me. Somewhat eschewing the normality of assuming good faith, I am a little suspicious about a recent entry on my talk page. It started out being signed by an IP, then changed to a newly created user (User:Lilnone). The message relates to the above article, which is semi-protected for twelve months, seemingly due to previous sock puppet activity. I may be being unduly wary of the intent of my correspondent, but I am keen to not unwittingly get involved in a subject matter that I know little about.

For that reason, could you please reply on this page, which is now on my watchlist. Thanks,

Derek R Bullamore (talk) 19:12, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

The new account changing an IP signature is not that unusual as I've seen that before. What is suspicious is that they are aware enough to follow you to my talk page and understand what a sock puppet is. Very unlikely for a new user. I would file an SPI report on the editor. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 00:14, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
I think I will decline. I am not familiar with filing SPI reports, which anyway on cursory glance, appears a little complicated. Plus, I am not aware what comparison there is for the said user and other potential sock puppet(s). However, if you wish to pursue this further, I have absolutely no objection. Thanks,

Explaination

Please do not delete my page 99.99.41.83 (talk) 22:32, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

You will need to explain why the user page should not be deleted on the MfD discussion not on my talk page. You will need to explain why the user page does not violate the user page guideline. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 00:16, 21 March 2012 (UTC)

I'm a student of integral university lucknow and i was editing the wiki page of integral university lucknow with the help of my college website www.integraluniversity.ac.in.

yeah i know those copied texts may violate the copyright acts but those were genuine and was been sourced as a trusted material please do save my changes..

the wiki page of my college is too Old and wasnt been edited since long time and it looks too bad giving a bad image of my college to my family memebers .

my college has changed too amuch and the wikipedia page of integral university doesn't represents the real image of integral university.. please allow me to edit the integral university lucknow page.. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vijayintegral (talkcontribs) 03:07, 25 March 2012 (UTC)

No Problem And A Request

I figured it was a sockpuppet. :P And I'm wondering if you could block an account for me. I could go into details but so I can stay brief, I'll just direct you here: Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/IncidentArchive409#User_Continuously_Blanking_Archived_Messages. One of the accounts was blocked and the other was warned and things were quiet for almost 3 years. Until now as the user just reverted my talk page to a really old version. (She must've forgotten about the archives as she didn't touch those.) Considering that her account has never since been used to make any constructive edits, except for blanking/reverting my talk page, and also deleting any evidence of her own sockpuppetry, would it be appropriate to just block her now? -WarthogDemon 03:02, 29 March 2012 (UTC)

Actually upon further examination it seems she made some kind of article since then, but considering she HAS been told multiple times not to blank talk pages I think some action should be taking. (Hopefully I'm not being rash here.)
