Responsable Editors
[edit]To be a Wikipedia editor is about contributing something valuable, however being a good and responsible editor is putting personal wishes aside and making sure that content is accurate.
That is why I will continue to search for the document that will prove that Dunfermline is a city, and I will do it in the search for truth.

Re: Reference to deletion of Talk:Shay Carl
[edit]Re your message: I see that have had discussion about the status of the article with Beeblebrox. The only other thing that I would have to add is that a high number of views and subscribers does not infer notability. However, with a high number of views/subscribers, it usually means that somebody had written about him. It is those articles that would establish his notability. His media company may also be a source of articles to establish notability. His appearances on television shows may also help if they are particularly notability. If they are one off guest appearances, than they are not likely to establish notability. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 05:39, 17 January 2012 (UTC)
- Ok, a lot of other YouTube personalities have Wikipedia articles and from those that I have seen some references are cited by that individual's own videos. Shay went through a period of weight loss where he lost 100 pounds, this was a journey that he recorded the steps of that and uploaded it to a specific YouTube channel, it was a significant event and inspired a lot of people, however apart from all of his videos it would be difficult to cite that specifically. This seems to be a recurring theme with articles about YouTube personalities, and is something that seems to have been accepted for these types of articles.
Please wait until Shay Carl becomes an article before making such links at articles. Many thanks, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 08:38, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
