November 2023
Your recent editing history at Javier Milei shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. DYK for Sounds of North American Frogs
On 14 November 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Sounds of North American Frogs, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that a 1950s album of frog calls developed a cult following? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Sounds of North American Frogs. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Sounds of North American Frogs), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Citation added to article about Sandra Mae Frank
Hello, I just added a citation to the article about Sandra Mae Frank. I am a bit unsure and also put {{bcn}}, as I would prefer a newspaper article that states her main birth data. What is your opinion about this? Thanks in advance! Bernhard.rulla (talk) 08:10, 14 November 2023 (UTC)
- @Bernhard.rulla The Right Rasta source doesn't strike me as very reliable. It looks like a content aggregator site that doesn't have any editorial control. Still, the {{bcn}} tag might be the best way to encourage others to find a decent source. Also, if we get the date wrong, subjects will often offer a correction after their social media followers start wishing them a happy birthday on the wrong day. gobonobo + c 13:37, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
- @Gobonobo Thanks for the feedback, got it. The good thing is that I for sure know that this date is correct by personal experience. This just does not help for the article. Bernhard.rulla (talk) 15:07, 20 November 2023 (UTC)

Administrators' newsletter – December 2023
News and updates for administrators from the past month (November 2023).

Now, non-extended-confirmed editors may use the "Talk:" namespace solely to make edit requests related to articles within the topic area, provided that their actions are not disruptive.
- The Arbitration Committee has announced a call for Checkusers and Oversighters, stating that it will currently be accepting applications for CheckUser and/or Oversight permissions at any point in the year.
- Eligible users are invited to vote on candidates for the Arbitration Committee until 23:59 December 11, 2023 (UTC). Candidate statements can be seen here.

Pedantic Aristotle
Since you took Pedantic Aristotle at AN, I think it could be of interest to you that there could still be behavioral issues. More specifically, among others, there is this discussion at Talk:Political positions of Javier Milei, where they pinged you but you never replied. I would like to hear your thoughts (preferabily here, rather than there, lest they accuse me of canvassing, which is not what I want), more specifically what do you suggest to do, since we are just having back-and-forth exchanges. An RfC? Taking the reliable sourced stuff they removed under pretentious grounds at WP:NPOV, since that is what they complain about? In particular, they removed Milei's positions about climate change, Cultural Marxism, sale of children, and vaccines, arguing that these are not political positions, even though they clearly are, have been routinely mentioned by reliable sources in articles about Milei, and are discussed at, say, Political positions of Donald Trump (just substitute Cultural Marxism for Trump's Obama conspiracy theories). They also removed this sourced example, Milei's vote against a law to expand the Congenital Heart Disease Program on the grounds that it implied "more presence of the state interfering in the lives of individuals and ... more expenses", which to me seemed a fitting example, per reliable sources, for a section named "Government size and public spending". I could be wrong of course but to me all of this just looks like "I don't like it" and they look like a single-purpose account that is aimed to improve Milei's image.
Davide King (talk) 13:34, 12 December 2023 (UTC)
- @Davide King I can't say I'm surprised. It does look like their series of reverts in the last day or so is a 3RR violation. I've given up on trying to get an admin to do anything about it though. The AN/I report outlined the tendentious behavior in detail, but didn't even result in a slap on the wrist. The political views spinoff was kept with its glaring omissions, despite being a pretty obvious POVFORK. One of the admins up for ArbCom even mentioned how not blocking that editor was one of the best examples of their discretion. The prospect of getting sucked into yet another endless IDHT talk page conversation with an editor who doesn't abide by BRD and is seemingly exempt from the rules feels futile at this point. gobonobo + c 15:44, 12 December 2023 (UTC)
- It is very weird indeed since, of the few users to answer beside me, there was UnironicEditor, who said: "Pedantic Aristotle's actions are very dangerous to the function of this encyclopedia. He should be banned or at least topic banned from politics in Argentina." Perhaps it should be re-opened, with now even more further examples? Honestly, I did not even realize they violated 3RR, so perhaps they should be reported at least for that? I do not blame for you that but I hope that you also do not give up editing or discussing article just because of them, otherwise it would be conceding their beahvior won and it would not be right. Indeed, I have stopped replying them at Talk:Political positions of Javier Milei and took the sourced content removal at NPOVN, starting with climate change. I think from now on that is the way I will follow to avoid "endless IDHT talk page conversation[s]". Davide King (talk) 16:08, 12 December 2023 (UTC)

Request to Revert Edit Due to Inaccurate Information
Dear @Gobonobo
I am writing to request the deletion of an edit I made to the article Afua Asantewaa on 29 December 2023.
I have since learned that the information I added was inaccurate even though some media websites had published it on their websites which I later found out they got it all wrong. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Specific details of the edit:
Page: Afua Asantewaa
Specific text added: The current, reigning world record holder for the longest singing marathon in the Guinness Book of Records, Sunil Waghmare, traveled to Ghana to congratulate Afua Asantewaa.
Reason for deletion: There were some reports by some Ghanaian media that the reigning world record holder of the longest singing Marathon, had traveled t, o congratulate Afua Asantewaa who was attempting to break that record. But I later found out that there was no such travel by the sunil Waghmare.
I kindly request that you revert the article to its previous version to ensure the accuracy of the information. Thank you for your understanding and attention to this matter.
Sweetabena (talk) 08:29, 31 December 2023 (UTC)
- Hi Sweetabena. There's no need to request to revert an edit like that. I was a little surprised that Waghmare would make such a trip myself. I'll take care of it. In the future, feel free to jump in and edit yourself. Just leave an explanation in the edit summary if you think people might object. gobonobo + c 08:39, 31 December 2023 (UTC)

Wikimedians for Sustainable Development - December 2023 Newsletter
Dear Wikimedians for Sustainable Development,
As we bid farewell to 2023, we reflect on a year that has been an uneven year for our user group. While the journey has been marked by some truly inspiring events, most of our efforts have been largely uncoordinated and the user group hasn't been the support it could have been. Yet, there's a glimmer of hope and a world of potential for 2024.
Highlights of 2023:
- Newsletters Galore
- We kicked off the year with zeal, sharing updates and inspiration through four newsletters. The number of things happening in the movement is astounding, but we need to rethink the format of the newsletter going into the next year.
- Growing Strong
- The Wikimedians for Sustainable Development family welcomed 33 new members in 2023. Your passion and dedication continue to inspire us, and we look forward to nurturing this community spirit in the year ahead.
- Wikimania Talks
- Our voices echoed far and wide at Wikimania, where several members of our community took the virtual stage to share insights and ideas about everything from Wikipedians-in-Residence's to open data. Your contributions showcased our commitment to sustainable development on a global scale.
- Content Creation Magic
- Throughout the year, our extended community demonstrated incredible dedication to expanding the knowledge base on Wikipedia. Countless hours were spent creating and curating content that aligns with our mission, contributing to a more sustainable digital ecosystem.
- Campaigning hard
- We saw a large variety of campaigns, from writing challenges to editathons. The willingness to experiment with new formats and partners, as well as learning from past efforts, shows great promise for the future.
Acknowledging Challenges:
While we celebrate these achievements, we acknowledge that 2023 presented its fair share of challenges. A lack of global coordination reminded us that the road to sustainable development is not always linear. However, it is precisely these challenges that fuel our determination to work together more cohesively in the coming year and proof that the user group is needed.
Hopeful Anticipation for 2024:
As we turn the page to 2024, let's carry forward the lessons learned and the successes celebrated. We are optimistic that, with renewed energy and a collective commitment, we will overcome obstacles and create an even more impactful and connected Wikimedians for Sustainable Development community.
Here's to a year of collaboration, growth, and making a lasting impact on the world through our shared passion for sustainability. Together, we can turn challenges into opportunities and pave the way for a brighter future.
Wishing you all a joyous holiday season and a Happy New Year!
Warm regards, User:Ainali, User:Daniel Mietchen
PS. We have started writing our yearly report, please add your activities to it.

Hi! I didn't notice in 2020 that this page had been overwritten with copyvio and then left a skeleton when that was removed. I've reverted it to the marginally better content I'd written before that (i.e., a while ago), and so removed your prod tag. I'm not myself entirely convinced it meets WP:NCORP, and not particularly inclined to spend a lot of time seeking to prove that it does, so please do as you think best. Regards, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 18:37, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
- Hi. I'll probably take a look at it later. Thanks for the note, I appreciate it. gobonobo + c 18:42, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
Fátima Florez
Hello! Can you edit the Spanish Wikipedia about Fátima Florez in relation to the year that she was born? It's 1978 and not 1981. The page about her is locked, and the talk page has been removed. Thanks! Dragonlb (talk) 22:45, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
- Hi. I can't promise it'll stick, but I'll try. gobonobo + c 23:01, 2 January 2024 (UTC)

On 8 January 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Heart of Frédéric Chopin, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Heart of Frédéric Chopin. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Heart of Frédéric Chopin), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Help with editing
Hey Gobonobo, thank you for looking over my second Wikipedia page. Is there any help you can give with regards to the feedback you gave around sources? What can I do to improve in the future? thanks!
p.s. i'm new here - that was my second article (of many, hopefully)! Journalist0071 (talk) 13:34, 9 January 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Journalist0071. First, welcome to Wikipedia. I know draftifying can feel pretty rude, so I hope you don't get discouraged. Draft:Prash Ladva raised some red flags for me, as it has many of the hallmarks of an article created by someone with a conflict of interest. If you did have an external relationship with Ladva or NHS, you would be expected to disclose it.
- As to sourcing, most of the references being used in the article are not independent, being associated with Ladva, his company LinkMedics, or his employer, NHS. The Telegraph and Argus and Newshopper references you added are both marked as "sponsored" by LinkMedics, so are not independent. The Bolton News references seem to be the only sources in the article that would count towards notability. With new articles, I like to collect all of the reliable, independent sources I can find first. If there are enough to qualify for an article, I try to build it using only those references. In reviewing your article, I conducted my own search for reliable sources and concluded that there just weren't enough at this point in his career to meet our notability criteria (WP:BIO). I hope that helps. gobonobo + c 14:36, 9 January 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you Gobonobo. No relation to the NHS or the individual - just trying to find my niche, as there are a tonne of notable people in UK healthcare who are not written about (subjective, I know). Will work on improving this article, as don't want to start another before this is done - if that's the right way to go about it? Journalist0071 (talk) 21:08, 9 January 2024 (UTC)
- @Journalist0071: It looks like you've already submitted the draft, but I recommend taking a look at WP:ORGIND. Good luck. gobonobo + c 00:06, 10 January 2024 (UTC)

Thank you very much for the file name change of the North Atlantic Fellas Association Logo over at Wiki Commons. I have apologized on Xtwitter[1], hopefully my phone will stop sounding like it was invaded by crickets soon. I am really sorry! I really know better and I feel really brain-dead for pronouncing this nonsense. Best wishes, Ellin Beltz (talk) 08:56, 14 January 2024 (UTC)
- Lol. Hi Ellin Beltz. No problem. Seems like an honest mistake. Those fellas sure do get riled up though. Maybe change your notification sound to something soothing from this album? I'm partial to the spring peepers myself. I like your edit history, by the way. I hope our paths cross again. gobonobo + c 14:30, 14 January 2024 (UTC)
