Custom signature fix needed

[edit]

Hi there! You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. A change to Wikipedia's software has made your current custom signature incompatible with the software.

The problem: Your signature contains a syntax error, specifically formatting tags that not longer work as intended.

The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, or you can fix your signature.

Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:
 1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
 2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
 3. Remove anything in the Signature: text box.
 4. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (The red "Restore all default settings" button will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)
Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:
 1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
 2. Change the signature as shown below, or make other edits to make the signature appear how you want it to appear.
 3. Click Save to update to your newly fixed signature.

Current signature:
<font color="grey">GMc</font><font color="black">(talk?)</font>

Fixed signature:
<span style="color:grey;">GMc</span><span style="color:black;">(talk?)</span>

More information is available at Wikipedia:Signatures#Customizing how everyone sees your signature. If you have followed these instructions and still want help, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Signatures. Thanks. – Jonesey95 (talk) 18:45, 21 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2021 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add NoACEMM to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:12, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Katie & Peter has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable series, no sources

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:03, 25 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Regarding this edit, the article was redirected and removed from the template, so it should not have been re-added as navigational templates are a repository of links to existing articles, not a place to catalogue all of a musical act's releases. That's what a discography page is for. Please see WP:EXISTING. Thanks. Ss112 08:04, 9 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Mr Bean revision

[edit]

You corrected a mention of ITV the channel to ITV the network. This is incorrect. ITV is both the name of the network of multiple national channels and the leading channel in that network. That channel was called ITV until 2001, six years after Mr Bean last premiered. You refer to the series "airing on the entire ITV network, not just ITV1" - at the time of broadcast there was only a single ITV channel, and even now no programme airs on the entire network at once. The edit should be reverted to referring to the channel, and not the network. Windrose202 (talk) 10:12, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please see both ITV1 and ITV (TV network) - My edit was correct. The ITV network is currently made up of ITV1 (including UTV (TV channel) and STV (TV channel). ITV (TV channel), which now redirects to ITV1 is the part of the ITV network in England, Wales, Scottish Borders, Isle of Man and Channel Islands (plus UTV). Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Shoot to Kill (1990 film), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page UTV. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Hits Radio logo (2018 - ).png

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Hits Radio logo (2018 - ).png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to participate in a research

[edit]

Hello,

The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.

You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .

Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,

WMF Research Team

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add NoACEMM to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:11, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
