Speedy deletion declined: Samuel Robinson (Actor)
Hello GeoffreyT2000. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Samuel Robinson (Actor), a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: New article is not substantially similar to any deleted version. More recent references suggest notability may need to be revisited. Thank you. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 21:55, 3 January 2018 (UTC)
- The article is now at AfD: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Samuel Robinson (Actor) (2nd nomination). GeoffreyT2000 (talk) 03:04, 9 January 2018 (UTC)
AfD close - Satelite best actor
Hello,
This is obviously a contentious AfD [1] in that there is clear disagreement. As a non-admin I don't think you are supposed to close AfDs such as this. I think as a non-admin, you are supposed to close only AfDs where is there is clear agreement - like everyone ivotes "keep" (with rationales) or everyone ivotes "delete" (with rationales). I request that you withdraw this close and I will request an Admin closure over at WP:AN. I doubt this will problem. Thanks. ---Steve Quinn (talk) 18:11, 21 January 2018 (UTC)
- That's all right, Steve Quinn. Non-admins are allowed to revert their own AfD closures, so I have just done that now per WP:NACD bullet #2. GeoffreyT2000 (talk) 01:03, 25 January 2018 (UTC)
Relisting this discussion is completely needless. An actor with zero reliable source, zero significant role gets relisted; but AFDs on notable Nigerian entertainers such as Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Okey_Uzoeshi, Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Matse_Uwatse, Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Makida_Moka (all these topics are notable) are deleted promptly without a thorough discussion. The first phase of the AFD contained two delete votes from regular editors, while the only editors voting keep were from COI editors. I interpret relisting as a case of double standards. If you don't mind, I want to know your basis for relisting an obvious AFD? I think Wikipedia is structured to favour (in decision making) certain editors that presents themselves in a certain way, instead of adhering strictly to the books. articles for creation move?
On 1 January 2018 at 23:08 (UTC), I re-wrote the page Corey Maison from whole cloth. When it was deleted under A7, I asked for what I'd written to be put in my userspace at User:Fourthords/Corey Maison; DGG (talk · contribs · blocks · protections · deletions · page moves · rights · RfA) obliged me. On 4 February 2018 at 04:57 (UTC), you added {{AFC submission}} to my userspace page, despite my having no interest yet in doing so (as it's plainly insufficient to yet be an article). You then moved User:Fourthords/Corey Maison out of my userspace to Draft talk:Corey Maison saying, "Preferred location for AfC submissions". So far as I know, nobody (save yourself) submitted that content I wrote to Wikipedia:Articles for creation. What's going on? — fourthords | =Λ= | 14:41, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
- You may be right: considering that it's a blp, perhaps I should instead have listed it at MfD for deletion as unencycopedic content. The best move I think is to withdraw it for now, and work on it outside WP if you really think you can get it into shape as an article. . If you want me to move it back to your user space I will, but I will then nominate it for MfD. DGG ( talk ) 17:51, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
- As it's inappropriate for the articlespace, I'd like the whole caboodle that I wrote from scratch in my userspace (preferably at User:Fourthords/Corey Maison), whether it has the history baggage of everybody else's unused edits or not. I ask why you'd nominate that page for deletion, though. WP:BLP#Non-article space says only that "Contentious material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourced and not related to making content choices should be removed, deleted, or oversighted, as appropriate." I assure you that the aforelinked version as I wrote it is 100% reliably verified. — fourthords | =Λ= | 22:27, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
Deletion Article Draft:Sam Davis (producer)
Hello @GeoffreyT2000,
I don't understand why the article Draft:Sam Davis (producer) has been deleted. The last time the submisson of this article was declined was because of the following: "Please edit this submission for grammar, spelling and capitalization before resubmitting." I've corrected this and now the article has been deleted and I don’t know why. Sam Davis is a very successful producer in Germany, he even won an International Emmy in New York for one of his films A Day for a Miracle - which is very very rare for a German producer. Winning an International Emmy, which along with the Oscars are the most recognizable entertainment award worldwide, is sufficient grounds for an English language Wikipedia article.
Also his German Wikipedia article has no issues and has been accepted. I have given a lot of soures to show his notability. If you look at other Wikipedia articles, for example, of another german producer [[Stefan Arndt}}, there are only a few sources to show his notability and his article has been accepted. Fair standards. So please help me to have the article of Sam Davis equally accepted.
Thanks KatharinaRB (talk) 10:01, 7 February 2018 (UTC)
- @KatharinaRB: I have requested undeletion at User talk:Premeditated Chaos#Restore Draft:Sam Davis (producer). GeoffreyT2000 (talk) 01:03, 10 February 2018 (UTC)

Trump
Trump.
Do you think I am talking about the game?
Ha ha, no, I am talking about the disambiguation page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Trump You closed it as "snow" in October. I believe it is a contentious issue that deserves full consideration, not a snow. Snow makes it look like railroading. One side will think it is corruption and the other side will not think they really won it. New2018Year (talk) 23:53, 8 February 2018 (UTC)
Please respond. Thank you. New2018Year (talk) 18:01, 9 February 2018 (UTC)
- @New2018Year: I assume you mean the RM discussion at Talk:Trump#Requested move 3 October 2017. I have closed that discussion per WP:SNOW because it has 5 oppose votes, 2 of which say "speedy close", which sounds like a SNOW close. GeoffreyT2000 (talk) 23:20, 9 February 2018 (UTC)

Dear GeoffreyT2000,
I was wondering if you could help me out with the Artist biography of: AIX1 And i was also wondering if you could help me with the biography of Recordlabel: Akhadir Recordings Amsterdam Wiki Link AIX1: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AIX1 Wiki Link Akhadir Recordings Amsterdam: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akhadir_Recordings_Amsterdam
These pages are not for commercial purpose endings but for independence for both the artist and the record label

Jay Hunter
Hello - thanks for reviewing my earlier submission. I realized I had not used most of the sources available for him. I have kept the content pretty much the same since I thought the points were still relevant but the references were changed significantly. Most of the ones I thought were not significant were removed. Let me know if I can improve this further. Heart613tm (talk) 04:05, 30 March 2018 (UTC)
New Page Review Newsletter No.10
ACTRIAL:
- ACTRIAL's six month experiment restricting new page creation to (auto)confirmed users ended on 14 March. As expected, a greatly increased number of unsuitable articles and candidates for deletion are showing up in the feed again, and the backlog has since increased already by ~30%. Please consider reviewing a few extra articles each day.
Paid editing
- Now that ACTRIAL is inoperative pending discussion, please be sure to look for tell-tale signs of undisclosed paid editing. Contact the creator if appropriate, and submit the issue to WP:COIN if necessary.
Subject-specific notability guidelines
- The box at the right contains each of the subject-specific notability guidelines, please review any that are relevant BEFORE nominating an article for deletion.
- Reviewers are requested to familiarise themselves with the new version of the notability guidelines for organisations and companies. A further discussion is currently taking place at: Can a subject specific guideline invalidate the General Notability Guideline?
Nominate competent users for Autopatrolled
- While patrolling articles, if you find an editor that is particularly competent at creating quality new articles, and that user has created more than 25 articles (rather than stubs), consider nominating them for the 'Autopatrolled' user right HERE.

Disambiguation link notification for April 14
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Jeff Fraser, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bloomberg (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Upcoming changes to wikitext parsing
Hello,
There will be some changes to the way wikitext is parsed during the next few weeks. It will affect all namespaces. You can see a list of pages that may display incorrectly at Special:LintErrors. Since most of the easy problems have already been solved at the English Wikipedia, I am specifically contacting tech-savvy editors such as yourself with this one-time message, in the hope that you will be able to investigate the remaining high-priority pages during the next month.
There are approximately 10,000 articles (and many more non-article pages) with high-priority errors. The most important ones are the articles with misnested tags and table problems. Some of these involve templates, such as infoboxes, or the way the template is used in the article. In some cases, the "error" is a minor, unimportant difference in the visual appearance. In other cases, the results are undesirable. You can see a before-and-after comparison of any article by adding ?action=parsermigration-edit to the end of a link, like this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_Foss?action=parsermigration-edit (which shows a difference in how {{infobox ship}} is parsed).
If you are interested in helping with this project, please see Wikipedia:Linter. There are also some basic instructions (and links to even more information) at https://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikitech-ambassadors/2018-April/001836.html You can also leave a note at WT:Linter if you have questions.
Thank you for all the good things you do for the English Wikipedia. Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 21:18, 19 April 2018 (UTC)

Hi GeoffreyT200, Greetings to you. I am not technical and I saw you placed AFC submission|t||ts=20180420225011|u=Menno.Ryckx|ns=118|demo= on Draft:2018 US Darts Masters (I use "move to draft" from More menu button to general the script) and would like to know, what "t", "ts", "ns" "demo" means/parameters. Where could I find info of such in Wikimedia to understand wikitex/HTML such tlc; div; u; demo; ns ;and etc. Thanks in advance. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 01:09, 21 April 2018 (UTC)
Request on 03:56:23, 15 May 2018 for assistance on AfC submission by Alikouros
I have tried listing detailed, independent media (Wall Street Journal, etc.) in which the subject of this article is not just mentioned, but the focus. I have also actively complied with every instruction sent my way by editors, or have sought information from them in order to do so, but this whole process has been so discouraging, I stepped away from it and all of wikipedia for months. Is there someone who can tell me why the independent, national-level media stories about this subject appear inadequate? Alikouros (talk) 03:56, 15 May 2018 (UTC)

Hello GeoffreyT2000. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Talk:Host Healthcare, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: assuming the associated article exists, blank talk pages are fine. NPR Newsletter No.11 25 May 2018
ACTRIAL:
- WP:ACREQ has been implemented. The flow at the feed has dropped back to the levels during the trial. However, the backlog is on the rise again so please consider reviewing a few extra articles each day; a backlog approaching 5,000 is still far too high. An effort is also needed to ensure that older unsuitable older pages at the back of the queue do not get automatically indexed for Google.
Deletion tags
- Do bear in mind that articles in the feed showing the trash can icon may have been tagged by inexperienced or non NPR rights holders. They require your further verification.
Backlog drive:
- A backlog drive will take place from 10 through 20 June. Check out our talk page at WT:NPR for more details. NOTE: It is extremely important that we focus on quality reviewing. Despite our goal of reducing the backlog as much as possible, please do not rush while reviewing.
Editathons
- There will be a large increase in the number of editathons in June. Please be gentle with new pages that obviously come from good faith participants, especially articles from developing economies and ones about female subjects. Consider using the 'move to draft' tool rather than bluntly tagging articles that may have potential but which cannot yet reside in mainspace.
Paid editing - new policy
- Now that ACTRIAL is ACREQ, please be sure to look for tell-tale signs of undisclosed paid editing. Contact the creator if appropriate, and submit the issue to WP:COIN if necessary. There is a new global WMF policy that requires paid editors to connect to their adverts.
Subject-specific notability guidelines
- The box at the right contains each of the subject-specific notability guidelines, please review any that are relevant BEFORE nominating an article for deletion.
- Reviewers are requested to familiarise themselves with the new version of the notability guidelines for organisations and companies.
Not English
- A common issue: Pages not in English or poor, unattributed machine translations should not reside in main space even if they are stubs. Please ensure you are familiar with WP:NPPNE. Check in Google for the language and content, tag as required, then move to draft if they do have potential.
News
- Development is underway by the WMF on upgrades to the New Pages Feed, in particular ORES features that will help to identify COPYVIOs, and more granular options for selecting articles to review.
- The next issue of The Signpost has been published. The newspaper is one of the best ways to stay up to date with news and new developments. between our newsletters.

Draft: 2018 silly season
Hello. I see that you successfully nominated Draft:1017 NFL Season for deletion. I've found a host of others from the same IPv6 /64 (list). I'm not sure that I can G3 them: it may be a little early to add useful content to Draft:2133 NFL Season but it does look like a good-faith contribution from a misguided enthusiast. Any advice please? Certes (talk) 11:26, 29 June 2018 (UTC)
