Re: Articles_for_creation/SSC_Laser_Cutting

[edit]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/SSC_Laser_Cutting

Hi FunnyPika, thanks for your comments, have attempted to follow your recommendations - can you help me with any suggested further amendments? I have tried to resubmit the article for consideration again (see above)

I've tried looking at another wiki article which seemed simpler yet seemed to better to conform to the requirements. I've for instance added quite a few links within the article to direct readers to further information concerning content in this article - what else can I learn from this existing page? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laser_Design,_Inc.

many thanks (30/5/2013) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Addisonc (talkcontribs) 18:54, 30 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The page currently reads like a promotional business directory listing rather than an encyclopedic article. I don't quite see how the references go to show how this company is notable. Like DGG mentions, the page needs reliable secondary sources for it to meet the inclusion criteria for companies. This excludes routine press releases, talking about employment and investment, and brief passing mentions by reputable sources, like a newspaper citing person x used this company. Try to add more in-depth profiles/reviews of the company and avoid inserting irrelevant information. Funny Pika! 17:52, 31 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Just to let you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Towson University College of Graduate Studies and Research because educational institutions are specifically not legible candidates for WP:CSD#A7 non-notable articles. If you think that the article should still be deleted, then I would suggest WP:PROD or WP:AFD. Stephen! Coming... 16:37, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Parikipandla Narahari

[edit]

Hello FunnyPika. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Parikipandla Narahari, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: it seems the deleting admin restored the article, so not G4; I will ask him to coment at the AfD. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 14:28, 6 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello FunnyPika,

I have reverted your redirect to the main campaign article, because I believe there should be more discussion. I favored the redirect in March, but there was no consensus for either deletion or redirect. With the passage of time, I think further discussion is warranted. Okay. I didn't think that something still in NPP would've gone through Afd already - my bad for not checking the history properly. I'll wait a few months before bringing it up again, but thanks for letting me know. Funny Pika! 22:05, 11 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The Threshold Audio article vanished

[edit]

I appreciate the efforts of all Wikipedia editors reading proofing and accepting articles. I have written several Wikipedia articles which have been accepted an published with not a problem.

Your comment that the article is blank has me very concerned. I completed the article the same as the others, did the preview to verify everything and then submitted it as I did the previous articles. My question is--where is all the text I submitted? How can it disappear? I do have a copy of the text in Word, so I could resubmit it but don't want this problem to happen again.

Thanks for your contributions. I'm not sure what happened to your submission but I couldn't find any visible text on Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Threshold Audio when I came to review it. There's a preview feature near the save button that shows you what the page looks like before it's submitted. You could use to check your future work next time. Hi FunnyPika. Appreciate you putting links to discussion at ITN/R, but could you use permalinks rather than wikilinks? If archives are changed, your links won't work. A permalink to the diff where the consensus (or whatever) was achieved is far preferable. Thanks again. The Rambling Man (talk) 17:54, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Will do. Thanks for the heads up. Funny Pika! 18:16, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Electronic Entertainment Expo 2013 may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "{}"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Bling Ring

[edit]

Hi. I had created the pages for a few actors from The Bling Ring. You redirected them unto the movie's Cast page. I thought it was at least worth discussing whether they deserve their own page (especially Broussard and Chang who have now appeared in more movies and have been profiled by many newspapers, including the NYT), so I had mentioned a discussion on the Talk page of the Chang article. Could you explain a bit more why you think all the pages should just be redirected? They seem to me to pass the notability guidelines, especially Chang, so I'd at least like to know more about what you think!

Why was this rejected?

Thanks

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
