Hey, what do you think about the new title I've suggested? Also, I've edited the mentioned skin names - it's a bit confusing, people ask us to change the skin name entirely, so I hope that for now, the label with the brackets will be a bit more precise and clear. WikiCup 2022 September newsletter
The fourth round of the WikiCup has now finished. 383 points were required to reach the final, and the new round has got off to a flying start with all finalists already scoring. In round 4, Bloom6132 with 939 points was the highest points-scorer, with a combination of DYKs and In the news items, followed by BennyOnTheLoose, Sammi Brie and Lee Vilenski. The points of all contestants are swept away as we start afresh for the final round.
At this stage, we say goodbye to the eight competitors who didn't quite make it; thank you for the useful contributions you have made to the Cup and Wikipedia, and we hope you will join us again next year. For the remaining competitors, remember that any content promoted after the end of round 4 but before the start of round 5 can be claimed in round 5. Remember too that you must claim your points within 14 days of "earning" them, and importantly, before the deadline on October 31st!
If you are concerned that your nomination, whether it be for a good article, a featured process, or anything else, will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed (remember to remove your listing when no longer required). If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to help keep down the review backlogs! Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. The judges are Sturmvogel 66 and Cwmhiraeth. Question from SuperHyper74 (11:17, 20 September 2022)
Eric, good morning. I need your help editing a Wikipedia controlled Bing page. --SuperHyper74 (talk) 11:17, 20 September 2022 (UTC)
- Hi SuperHyper74, what page are you referring to? Justiyaya 11:25, 20 September 2022 (UTC)
- Good morning, Justiyaya. I am referring to a Bing search, of which Wikipedia controls the content. If you do a bing search for Bella Hadid, you will notice a disturbing word that appears twice on the page, once under her name. And then a second time underneath her photo. The word is "untermensch", a German word that means "subhuman", and was used by the Nazis to describe the Jews and other groups of people who they believed were less than human during the Second World War!!!!!! I should not have to comment any further. Now I need your help to remove that filth from the page!!!! SuperHyper74 (talk) 11:37, 20 September 2022 (UTC)
- @SuperHyper74 Thanks for raising your concerns, I was unable to locate the word in the article, although the bing search has the word in it under her photo. After some digging, it seems to be caused by recently reverted vandalism added on Wikidata about a month ago, see wikidata:Special:Diff/1699148984. We do not have control over a saved index of Wikidata by bing, please contact microsoft/bing support. Thanks! Justiyaya 12:13, 20 September 2022 (UTC)
- Justiyaya, I have already contacted Microsoft and Bing support, and they keep sending me back here. Now, as you can see from that wikidata page, someone hacked in and vandalized that page. We need to restore the original content of that page, and kick that vandal off the internet immediately!!!!! SuperHyper74 (talk) 12:27, 20 September 2022 (UTC)
- @SuperHyper74 It was removed 12 days ago with Wikidata:Special:Diff/1723528387. Can you ask Microsoft support to reindex the Wikidata page or review the search result again linking to this thread? If Wikidata is causing this issue it was fixed 12 days ago on our side, I don't think I can help much. Justiyaya 12:39, 20 September 2022 (UTC)
- Justiyaya, here is the funny thing about this. Whilst we were chatting back and forth, I noticed that I when I tried to access the page again, half of the problem had been solved. In other words, it now says American model under her photo on the right half of the page, but it still says "untermensch" under her name and smaller photo on the right side of the page. SuperHyper74 (talk) 12:58, 20 September 2022 (UTC)
- On the left side of the page, I meant to say, you can still see the grotesque insult. SuperHyper74 (talk) 12:58, 20 September 2022 (UTC)
- Also, the vandal, whose name is Roshkara, needs to be kicked off the internet permanently!!!!!! SuperHyper74 (talk) 13:02, 20 September 2022 (UTC)
- @SuperHyper74 Uhh Roshkara did not vandalize... They did restore a good revision of the page though... I did try the bing feedback feature few hours ago not expecting it to work on that specific section, probably caused by that I guess? Anyways, if it is not resolved within ~24 hours please send a report to Bing Support instead of here. Bye! Justiyaya 14:19, 20 September 2022 (UTC)
- Oh, sorry about the confusion!!! SuperHyper74 (talk) 15:18, 20 September 2022 (UTC)

Question from SuperHyper74 (06:01, 21 September 2022)
I need to know who is responsible for the content on the top of this search page. Is it Bing, or is it Wikipedia!!!!! Whoever is responsible needs to remove the heinous insult "Untermensch" seen under Ms. Hadid's name on the top of the page. --SuperHyper74 (talk) 06:01, 21 September 2022 (UTC)
- bella hadid - Search (bing.com) SuperHyper74 (talk) 06:02, 21 September 2022 (UTC)
- I have been working tirelessly for nearly two days now to resolve this problem. Wikipedia, I am happy to say, solved half of the problem, as this insult actually appeared twice on the same page. But the other half of the problem needs to be fixed as well!!!! SuperHyper74 (talk) 06:04, 21 September 2022 (UTC)
Question from Shootr McGavn (16:57, 21 September 2022)
Hey, I added a couple relevant sentences to a page. It was well-sourced and properly-written.
It immediately was removed on very flimsy grounds. What are my next steps? Is it a fight just to add new info to this site? --Shootr McGavn (talk) 16:57, 21 September 2022 (UTC)

The primary goal of this session is to generate as many contributor and publisher items as we can in advance of the two following sessions which have to do with batch editing -- we want enough to make a good batch! We will review how to add items, but then reserve the bulk of the session for open editing, kind of like a mini-editathon! Naturally, participants can ask questions and share thoughts at any point during the editing! You are, as always, welcome to bring your own data to work on. Little problem at the Signpost
Hello @EpicPupper. I noticed you're one of the editors in chief at the Signpost. Well, we've got a little problem over there. We've got four days left for writing and not a single one of the articles is ready yet. I was thinking to message the copyeditors about this issue, but I don't know what would be preferable to you to do. I messaged JPxG but so far there is no response. If I don't get a response by tomorrow I'll probably message the copyeditors myself. Thanks! Helloheart (talk) 00:26, 27 September 2022 (UTC)

Administrators' newsletter – October 2022
News and updates for administrators from the past month (September 2022).
- Following an RfC, consensus was found that if the rationale for a block depends on information that is not available to all administrators, that information should be sent to the Arbitration Committee, a checkuser or an oversighter for action (as applicable, per ArbCom's recent updated guidance) instead of the administrator making the block.
- Following an RfC, consensus has been found that, in the context of politics and science, the reliability of FoxNews.com is unclear and that additional considerations apply to its use.
- Community comment on the revised Universal Code of Conduct enforcement guidelines is requested until 8 October.
- The Articles for creation helper script now automatically recognises administrator accounts which means your name does not need to be listed at WP:AFCP to help out. If you wish to help out at AFC, enable AFCH by navigating to Preferences → Gadgets and checking the "Yet Another AfC Helper Script" box.
- Remedy 8.1 of the Muhammad images case will be rescinded 1 November following a motion.
- A modification to the deletion RfC remedy in the Conduct in deletion-related editing case has been made to reaffirm the independence of the RfC and allow the moderators to split the RfC in two.
- The second phase of the 2021-22 Discretionary Sanctions Review closes 3 October.
- An administrator's account was recently compromised. Administrators are encouraged to check that their passwords are secure, and reminded that ArbCom reserves the right to not restore adminship in cases of poor account security. You can also use two-factor authentication (2FA) to provide an extra level of security.
- Self-nominations for the electoral commission for the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections open 2 October and close 8 October.
- You are invited to comment on candidates in the 2022 CUOS appointments process.
- An RfC is open to discuss whether to make Vector 2022 the default skin on desktop.
- Tech tip: You can do a fuzzy search of all deleted page titles at Special:Undelete.
