Talk on including committee and party leadership positions for senators
[edit]Since you're invested in the topic, just wanted to direct you to the debate currently taking place at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Politics/American politics#On organising the infoboxes of members of Congress. That WikiProject page attracts little human traffic so I'm spreading the word to interested editors. SuperWIKI (talk) 08:53, 1 October 2023 (UTC)

Suggestion
[edit]Hello. I just wanted to recommend you to "enrich" your user page somehow – for instance to add some content and userboxes that you can identify with, that describe you somehow. That way, other users would have a better perception of you. Also, as you are from India (I may be wrong about that?) I wanted to ask for your opinion about Celina Jaitly, her activism etc. I am a fan or her; sometime ago, I created this userbox about her. — Sundostund mppria (talk / contribs) 13:44, 5 February 2024 (UTC)
- I was interested in this for a long time but i dont know how to do it and i am bit shy about asking for help. Also thank you for the help with GoldRingChip i was planing to respond at your talk page but i was busy irl so again thanks for this . Friendlyhistorian (talk) 13:11, 7 February 2024 (UTC)
- As from my country of origin i am from europe not india Friendlyhistorian (talk) 13:12, 7 February 2024 (UTC)
- Oh my bad then! For some reason, I thought that you are from India. As for your user page, just start to slowly add some material that you can relate to – write something short about yourself and your work here, add some userboxes that you like and such. Its very simple actually; and there is no reason to be shy, just ask for help when you need it. And, don't worry about being busy in real life and not responding, it's perfectly fine. — Sundostund mppria (talk / contribs) 13:33, 7 February 2024 (UTC)

In countries with a Parliamentary republic, the choice of president is the product of consensus of all parties, not a one-party victory. D.S. Lioness (talk) 18:25, 7 April 2024 (UTC)
- Thats all and good but people are affiliated to parties almost all lists mention that . It is true that for parliamentary republics the heads of state does not matter but all lists have their political affliliation and its not cause i added it to them they existed long before i started editing so they should be there in my view Friendlyhistorian (talk) 20:30, 7 April 2024 (UTC)
- But we should mentions when the head of state is ceremonial cause it can legit lead to confusion Friendlyhistorian (talk) 20:31, 7 April 2024 (UTC)
- I known that is a common practice. Just mention some thoughts. A broader consensus would be needed for such a change. 👍 D.S. Lioness (talk) 17:38, 8 April 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah but like we could put notes or something i am not a full time editor i am still learning stuff anyway i wish you good editing and for you to have a nice day Friendlyhistorian (talk) 18:18, 8 April 2024 (UTC)

List of presidents of Burundi
[edit]Hi, I noticed that you reverted some of my edits on List of presidents of Burundi. The thing is that I've nominated that list for FL, and it had already got a few reviews on it. You've removed table accessibility features that were added, including sorting based on the last name. Some of these changes are specifically requested in most FL nominations. Could you undo your changes please? -MPGuy2824 (talk) 08:39, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
- Ok listen i was not aware of this . If you mean the table column being grey then i guess thats ok but like having sortable tables really messes the article . But listen i did not meant to cause an issue . What things would you like restored ? Friendlyhistorian (talk) 09:00, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
I did not meant to cause an issue.
I wasn't thinking that at all. Don't worry about that. I'm happy to be discussing this with someone who is ready to respond. Here's a list of things in the current revision that FL reviewers will have problems with:- Sorting on last name. - This has been pointed out on every biographical FL nomination that I've noticed lately.
- table accessibility - scope=row/rowgroup/col/colgroup. This is per MOS:DTAB.
- The colors in the first column. Are you a fan of them? There are some rules about text colors not clashing with background colors. I prefer using the {{Party name with color}} template which separates the color from the text. This also puts the color next to the party name which makes putting those colors in the legend redundant. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 09:21, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
- btw due to me not being as experienced as you . What does FL mean ? would it be possible to do like the list of australia ? Also i think the burundi colors are based on party colour if not i will fix it . Friendlyhistorian (talk) 09:28, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
- If it is matter of urgency you can revert if you want and we can chat it later . I just try to get all the lists heads of state or pm to be as similar as possible depending on the country Friendlyhistorian (talk) 09:30, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
- Not particular urgent, in the sense that it can wait a day or two. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 09:38, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
- btw was referring to the list of prime ministers of australia Friendlyhistorian (talk) 09:30, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
- List of prime ministers of Australia is already an FL (Featured List). It wasn't promoted very long ago, so it might meet most (if not all) of the current FL-criteria already. If you notice that something more can be done for that list, then go ahead. They've removed sortability from that list, otherwise the FL reviewers would have commented about last-name sorting. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 09:37, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
- Ok here is what we can do you dont have to if you dont want . put the grey column and sort-ability but if you can make the letters in the name column not bold my only issue keep the number and column on the same column and pictures before the names we can discuss the sortability later . Could you do it ? Friendlyhistorian (talk) 09:42, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
- And sorry for causing an issue ok Friendlyhistorian (talk) 09:46, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
- Check User:MPGuy2824/sandbox2. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 10:02, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
- I apologize for the delayed response yes its ok if you are ok with that go for it . For the Burundi presidential page Friendlyhistorian (talk) 12:24, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
- Check User:MPGuy2824/sandbox2#Party colors moved where I've moved the party colors next to the party name. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 12:40, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
- Btw i just the message personally i prefer the previous one to be honest . Also people did revert my i edits i reedited the pages kept the most of the stuff you added . If you can and you want too could you just make the grey column letters not bold and put the colors and letters into one as it was . If you dont want too i understand i will raise the issue another time Friendlyhistorian (talk) 20:10, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
- Check User:MPGuy2824/sandbox2#Party colors moved where I've moved the party colors next to the party name. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 12:40, 16 July 2024 (UTC)

- Hehe, Wikipedia editors are present in all timezones of the world, and most editors aren't bothered when someone doesn't respond to them immediately. I've seen conversations where there is no overlap at all between two editors' times. WP:NORUSH is what people like to say here. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 12:45, 16 July 2024 (UTC)

- Also sorry for reverting your stuff you meant well ok . I just try to keep articles as standardized as possible for example the image should be before the name . and the column bar and number bar should be the same . Those articles for some reason get vandalized a lot or get weird edits ok Friendlyhistorian (talk) 09:03, 16 July 2024 (UTC)

[edit].Hello! No worries about the Chief Advisors thing, its something people haven't thought of for years now and at this point, certain things are still vague about them, we are all learning, I myself learnt a lot about them fairly recently. Note: I have a hunch (which started a while ago) that you might be right that Fazlul Haque was an acting Chief Advisor. Not only did he serve for 1 day upon the resignation of another Chief Advisor, there are very few news articles about him, and its possible some news articles wrongfully (or rightfully) dropped the word "acting." If you can find any reliable source which proves he was in fact an acting Chief Advisor, contrary to other sources and beliefs, do please make the amendments necessary and provide the source too. I will of course check it before doing anything. Also, yes sure you can ask any question, and I am of course willing to help to the best of my abilities. - Ok thanks for responding . My questions is is the Bangladesh Krishak Sramik Awami League aka BaKSAL party or a colation of parties . Cause in some articles it written that this is a party but the wiki pages says it was coaltion and then party but in the categories its written that it was a coalition . Do you have any info on that the reason i ask is cause need to write in on the tables for president and prime minister of bangladesh if it was party it gets to stay but if it was a colation it should be a small note under the party name . I am not well versed with Bangladeshi history thats why i am asking . Btw thanks for numbering the chief advisors it is better than having a split page like the did in the pakistan article it really needs to be fixed at some point. Friendlyhistorian (talk) 14:14, 9 August 2024 (UTC)
- Hi,
- 1. As a Bangladeshi, I can tell you that Baksal (or Bakshal as we call it in Bangla) is a political party, not a coalition. Baksal was formed as a merger of several political parties, like the Awami League, the Communist Party of Bangladesh, Jatiya Party and several others. I think that's why some people misunderstand it as a coalition. However in reality, certain political parties allied to Sheikh Mujibur Rahman or were left-wing like Sheikh Mujib merged together to form BaKSAL, dissolving their own parties in the process to form this one political party, while every other political party which did not join BaKSAL were banned. No one except BaKSAL members could become MPs and hold governmental jobs, etc.
- So yes, its a political party, certainly not a coalition, more like a political party formed by the merger of several other parties. When BaKSAL dissolved, the political parties "re-formed" (not reformed) themselves to their original state.
- 2. Oh, your welcome. I personally disliked the idea of having a separate page as that would just make things unnecessarily complex. Considering the Chief Adviser and Prime Minister are essentially the same position almost. GucciNuzayer (talk) 16:43, 9 August 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for the info. I hope someone rewrites the Baksal cause it really give the idea that i was a coalition of parties at least at first . I was planning to edit the lists for while the protests and revolution came legit out of nowhere but i do hope it will bring more attention to Bangladeshi election articles since they have been neglected and like not mentioning results correctly or coalitions also like hope for the best for Bangladesh Friendlyhistorian (talk) 13:54, 10 August 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you so much, I greatly appreciate your work. If you want I can try rewriting the Baksal page (unless you want to do it yourself, but since you said that you hope someone rewrites it, I guess you would be fine with someone else doing it). I also always felt like certain Bangladeshi-related pages (like Baksal) to be extremely poorly written, and fixing them is literally like 60-70% of my work here in Wikipedia.
- Where are you from by the way? Just curious. You can decline to answer if you wish. GucciNuzayer (talk) 20:31, 14 August 2024 (UTC)
