Articles for creation
I highly recommend un-signing yourself up for Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/October 2013 Backlog Elimination Drive. The reason is that Articles for Creation requires some skill and judgment that is extremely rare in new Wikipedia editors. In general, you should have at least several hundred edits to articles spread over several months of editing as well as a good understanding of Wikipedia's policies and guidelines before "accepting" or "rejecting" articles. We usually do several backlog drives a year. If you make a hundred edits to articles a month and spend some time reading Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, there's a good chance that you will be a good editor and ready to start accepting or rejecting articles two or three backlog-drives from now.
In the meantime, you are welcome to participate in AFC in other ways, such as commenting on articles and participating in the project-related discussions in that WikiProject. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)

Advice needed
Hello. I'm PrismAira, a new user who just joined yesterday and I have a question. Is it alright to translate information from another language's Wikipedia into one of the articles in this language? This is because the other language's wiki has more complete information that can be found on the English one. The article in question is List of Beatmania video games and the corresponding foreign language wiki article is https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beatmania Please do reply as I intend to update the article. Thank you in advance. PrismAira (talk) 04:22, 5 November 2014 (UTC)
- It should be OK. But don't take my word for it. Transwiki material is not my strong point. Francinum (Talk) (Contrib) 13:06, 5 November 2014 (UTC)
- Alright. Thank you. PrismAira (talk) 13:30, 5 November 2014 (UTC)

Autoblocked because your IP address was recently used by "Shrek6969420". The reason given for Shrek6969420's block is: "Clearly not here to contribute to building the encyclopedia".
Accept reason: I've given you IP block exemption to allow you to edit through the IP block. PhilKnight (talk) 13:53, 5 November 2014 (UTC)
- Could you try editing now? I think your underlying IP has changed, and from what I can tell, you aren't currently blocked. PhilKnight (talk) 15:08, 4 November 2014 (UTC)

IP block exempt
I have granted your account an exemption from IP blocking. This will allow you to edit through full blocks affecting your IP address when you are logged in.
Please read the page Wikipedia:IP block exemption carefully, especially the section on IP block exemption conditions.
Note in particular that you are not permitted to use this newly-granted right to edit Wikipedia via anonymous proxies, or disruptively. If you do, or there is a serious concern of abuse, then the right may be removed by any administrator.
Appropriate usage and compliance with the policy may be checked periodically, due to the nature of block exemption, and block exemption will be removed when no longer needed (for example, when the block it is related to expires).
I hope this will enhance your editing, and allow you to edit successfully and without disruption. PhilKnight (talk) 13:53, 5 November 2014 (UTC)
Speedy tagging
Hi. Thanks for patrolling new pages, a tedious but essential job. One piece of advice: rather than write something like {{db-reason|1=A7- Unremarkable Person, Self Promotion.}}
, it's better to use one of the standard templates listed at WP:CSD, in this case {{db-person}}. That gives a rather more specific explanatory template, which has a link to the actual speedy specification at WP:CSD#A7. Also, adding "Unremarkable Person" and "Self Promotion" may confuse things, because those are not speedy-deletion reasons and might be arguable, and if the speedy reason is valid there is no need to get into discussion about them.
There is good advice for speedy taggers from an experienced admin at WP:A7M and WP:10CSD. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 14:54, 7 November 2014 (UTC)
IP block exempt - removed
Hello, Francinum. Just so you know, I have removed your IP Block Exemption flag, as it appears that it is no longer required. From a check of your recently-used IP addresses, it does not look as though any of those IP addresses are blocked; IPBE is only granted on an as-need basis, and when that need no longer exists, the flag may be removed. If you encounter any difficulty editing as a result of this action, please post an unblock request using the {{unblock|your reason here}}
template, mentioning the block message you are seeing. If you have any other questions, or you believe that you do still have a need for the IPBE flag, please let me know. PhilKnight (talk) 03:01, 9 November 2014 (UTC)

Slipknot
Thanx for your concern. But 'Consensus on Slipknot's genre is finalized' is not viable in Wikipedia as one of Wikipedia's basic advantages IS the ever-evolving information. And as for Slipknot's genre, as all the genres Alt metal, Nu metal, Groove metal, Heavy metal and even the umbrella term Extreme metal have enough Reliable Sources to back them up, it's just the matter of consensus. My concern on changing the genre was due to the current version's misleading aspect. A band tagged as Alt metal, Nu metal and Heavy metal can easily be identified as a band similar to Disturbed, Godsmack or Stone Sour, Corey Taylor's other project. So I figured changing them and emphasizing on more extreme sourced genres like Groove metal and Extreme metal, would clarify their characteristics. The only reason I didn't bring this subject up on Slipknot's talk page is because of Slipknot's both die-hard angry unreasonable fans and haters who do not agree on Slipknot being Metal or Not, to begin with. I will eventually begin another discussion about this matter on Slipknot's talk page when I'm patient enough for dogma comments against sourced information. But for now I just wanted to make it clear that it was a good faith edit. 31.59.83.242 (talk) 14:24, 15 December 2014 (UTC) (This is a shared IP. Wikipedia is filtered in my country.)
