Malcolm Archer edit war

[edit]

Regarding the situation at Malcolm Archer, I believe Paulus Domum and 2A02:A469:4131:1:255D:9E4:EC8:9144 are the same person. I'm not familiar with the CheckUser process; do you think it would be appropriate to request one or is it too small to worry about? {{u|Bowler the Carmine}} (he/him | talk) 22:10, 13 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for reaching out! I think the protection will be sufficient to stop the issue. If it continues, I think proposing a edit block on both accounts will fix the issue. Foxtrot620 (talk) 22:16, 13 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Warning templates

[edit]

Information icon Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template index/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. 47.227.95.73 (talk) 23:26, 14 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

November 2022

[edit]

In good faith, the following message is retained. To be clear, the edit was a speedy deletion proposal that was fully valid under the guidelines, but, I don't believe in removing or blanking notices and warnings, even those given improperly:

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Harvey Manger-Weil, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Pls stop messing up the page. This is uncalled for. Be warned! Padibso (talk) 00:01, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Spheniscus chilensis discovery story

[edit]

Where in the cited source does it describe the discovery of the first bones? I can't seem to find it. Brendansoloughlin (talk) 05:54, 29 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

On the first page, in the last paragraph, quote "Fossils of this Penguin were originally found by one of us (CGC) in the locality in 1980"
Hope this helps!! Foxtrot620 (talk) 05:59, 29 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

CS1 error on War

[edit]

Hello, I'm Qwerfjkl (bot). I have automatically detected that this edit performed by you, on the page War, may have introduced referencing errors. They are as follows:

  • A "missing periodical" error. References show this error when the name of the magazine or journal is not given. Please edit the article to add the name of the magazine/journal to the reference, or use a different citation template. (Fix | Ask for help)

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can (bot)&section=new report it to my operator. Thanks, Qwerfjkl (bot) (talk) 17:15, 5 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ummm

[edit]

I am not sure why or how you are creating a speedy delete for an item created in 2008.

The creator of the article has not edited since 2021.

I have long moved on from anything to do with such subjects or issues,

I do not see why there is any need for a speedy.

I would be fascinated to see a reasoning for such a particular process at this point.

JarrahTree 07:59, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Also reasoning in edit summaries is not how wikipedia works - edit summaries are usually lost before you start, and many editors leave vast amounts of text in them unaware that such arguments/components of arguments are relatively pointless, as it is not where a reasonable conversation with other editors can proceed. I have no interest in the article in any way, but I am quite concerned that the demise of the article is not adequately covered by what I would call reasonable process as understood by general practices in wikipedia. I did not have the item on my watch list, and will be very unlikely to respond or show any interest in the article or subject further than this comment. Best of luck, and bye bye. Declined speedy deletion of Mak Erot

[edit]

I have declined your A7 on Mak Erot. The standard for A7 is not notability as you seem to think based on your note on the article talk page. The article need only make a credible claim of significance to clear the very low bar of A7. In this case the presence of reliable sources reporting on the subject means that it is not eligible for A7. Please read and understand the CSD|criteria for speedy deletion. -- Whpq (talk) 11:44, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Edgewood Arsenal human experiments, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Belladonna. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
