Hello Wiki Reviewers,

I have been waiting patiently for someone to review my entry on the Mydolls, since I have made necessary changes, can anyone help?

Scimitar oryx and other copy edits

FoCuSandLeArN, if you're going to copy edit at FAC level, please slow down and familiarise yourself with relevant aspects of MOS. Scientific names of Genus and Species names are itialicized. --Stfg (talk) 13:38, 20 February 2013 (UTC)

I have exchanged emails with Torchiest and we've agreed that I will re-do the Scimitar Oryx copy edit. Sorry, but there are too many errors introduced and too many left uncorrected there. --Stfg (talk) 14:56, 20 February 2013 (UTC)
Fair enough. I apologise for the inconvenience. FoCuSandLeArN (talk) 16:28, 20 February 2013 (UTC)

Eric Cutler (guitarist)

You denied my article for not having reliable sources. I used the website for the record label Eric Cutler has been signed to for 20 plus years. I fail to see this as unreliable. You and wokipedia are lame. Necrosiceric (talk) 16:47, 20 February 2013 (UTC)

i'm sorry you feel that way. we call those primary or self-published sources, and they're not enough to establish the subject's notability. please see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners. regards, FoCuSandLeArN (talk) 16:57, 20 February 2013 (UTC)

Patent nonsense speedy delete

FoCu, just so you know, the patent nonsense speedy delete should only be used on articles that make no sense. Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Phoolan devi says "phoolan was a good woman" - that makes sense. However, there isn't enough context to determine who exactly Phoolan is, so I switched it to A1, no context. It is important to tag articles for the right reason, since patent nonsense is rather insulting to potential new editors. Ego White Tray (talk) 13:32, 1 March 2013 (UTC)

Proof of Heaven

I'm confused by the comments about the Proof of Heaven page. I've reviewed numerous Wikipedia pages that have no external refernces or links and are just very breif overviews about a person or event or the like. This is just essentially a write about a published book that is selling well on Amazon and other book sellers.

Can you please provide information as to why you believe it sounds like an advertisement, rather than just a writeup about a book and why it is necessary to have verifiablility when many other Wikipedia postings do not have them?

In fact, the page was modeled after the Eben Alexander, MD webpage, except that it's about the book and not the author.

Please advise. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Proof of Heaven (talkcontribs) 21:47, 3 March 2013 (UTC)

i'd appreaciate a link to the article, as I can't recall much about it. yes, you can find unreferenced wikipedia pages, but that's precisely the point of following the AfC process: you get feedback from experienced editors, and one of the most important things about an article is that its subject needs to be verifiable and notable. i believe in your case, those criteria weren't met. it was a mere promotional article. please see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners. regards, FoCuSandLeArN (talk) 14:40, 4 March 2013 (UTC)

Phinehas (band) page

Hey FoCuSandLeArN,

What do I need to do specifically in order to get this band's wiki page up and running? They are signed to a major label (Red Cord Records) and have a full length and an EP with that same label - do they need TWO full lengths in order to be notable? At the moment they are an up-and-coming band, but they are a big enough name where they will need a wiki page. They are touring nationally at the moment as well (They are CA native and are touring even through the midwest right now). They also have several music videos available for viewing

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Phinehas_(band)

Just wondering if you had a specific for me in order to get this rolling! Thanks!

Myollinir (talk) 16:30, 5 March 2013 (UTC)

i've found a source that looks to be a real published source (Substream Music Press) - has physical copies issued, and had an article about the band - listed in my references on the page now

Refugee Protest Camp Vienna

Greetings, FoCuSandLeArN. I'm writing back about the article you declined. Your feedback was "This submission appears to be a news report of a single event and may not be notable enough for an article in Wikipedia." The "single event" has been ongoing since November last year. It has made headlines at least weekly in all the Austrian newspapers and been featured on the television news. It inspired a right-wing counter-protest and was featured on campaign posters by the far-right Freedom Party. Furthermore, Austria's president, Heinz Fischer, and highest ranking church official, Cardinal Christoph Schönborn, have both been in personal contact with the refugees. I didn't get into this in the article, but the protest is related to ongoing events in Afghanistan and Pakistan. I provided an account of the protest at the article for the Votive Church, but that has now been removed: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Votive_Church,_Vienna&action=history: "The reference to the occupation of the church by asylumseekers - an unfortunate but minor event - took up a quarter (!) of the text." At the same time, there's a German language article on the protest that no-one seems to think is inappropriate: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Refugee_Protest_Camp_Vienna. Please advise how to proceed. Thanks. Yours, Toanke (talk) 07:39, 6 March 2013 (UTC)

Ralph Kot

Hi There,

I have question about my article about Ralph Kot. You said, that submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources. Rafal is fresh in public, so he's not such a "talked about" person in media. I'm from his close circle of friends, I wanted to make this article about him whitch he approved.

What I suppose to do to publish the article if there is no other reliable source than Ralph himself?

Ah, I see my recent message is in Archive 5.

An update: I reinstated the info on refugees in the Votive Church article - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Votive_Church,_Vienna#Refugees - but would prefer to make a separate article about the Refugee Protest Camp, now that it has moved into the Servite Monastery and continues to make headlines in Vienna (today's unfortunate example was about a fight that two of the men got into, resulting in brief hospitalization for both: http://www.xn--sterreich-z7a.at/nachrichten/Pruegel-Orgie-unter-Asylwerbern/97414394)

Regarding User:Deven94

Good morning,

Regarding Deven94 and this proposal: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Dev_spears_(pure.uk)

You may wish to know that the user recently vandalised/inserted unconstructive edits to Hanley Castle High School both whilst logged in and also whilst logged out of WP.

I've been keeping an eye on his edits and have tried to revert ones that I am aware he has/had made unconstructive/vandalising edits to the project, though I may have missed a couple.

In regards to his proposal for the article, I believe that he is likely to have requested to create that article as a joke, or possibly just not understanding that WP doesn't accept biographies for people who are not 'significant' enough to be elegible for one in the opinion/view of WP (is that right?).

I know has was editing for a while from a college (currently IP blocked for vandalism - I've notified college admin) possibly as a prank on myself. In cases where I knew this had happened I did revert his edits and posted a note on the talk page where possible, though a couple of other users (possibly using bots) already placed a warning before I managed to work out how to post one. I'll keep an eye out for him for now.

Regards, Usual people in life (talk) 10:50, 11 March 2013 (UTC)

well yes, that article was simply not even going to be considered. seems like you have a good grip on the situation. it might be prudent to maybe request a block on that user. cheers, FoCuSandLeArN (talk) 11:13, 11 March 2013 (UTC)

Denied article - Travis House (Producer)

I have read what you had suggested and I still do not understand where you are coming from I guess. The article was written with only facts and no fluff. Billboard Mag has mentioned him (Referenced) His name is on countless albums (Referenced) and is a vital part of what created these artists in the first place so many people could enjoy their music. He is the guy behind the scenes creating what you hear.

Not to sound like a brat but what does it take to get a Wikipedia if breaking into the music game with a major label artist and working with other major label artists is "nothing"?... I am just confused.\\

Sorry again but what do I need to do? — Preceding unsigned comment added by JustinDRIP (talkcontribs) 21:12, 11 March 2013 (UTC)

i understand your frustration. it's a problem easily solved with proper referencing (full in-line citations from independent, reliable sources). please note that references must establish the notability of the subject, and if the subject is not notable in a stand-alone manner, then it's very likely that the subject can't be included on wikipedia. let me give you an example: a producer might seem notable because they've produced an elvis song, however that says nothing about the producer's notability, i.e. why is this particular producer notable; he might have changed the producing industry, perhaps. as i said before, if the producer is indeed notable, you'll have no problem in establishing that through referencing. cheers, FoCuSandLeArN (talk) 21:37, 11 March 2013 (UTC)

Creation page Alain Kirili declined

Hi, I understand that you have declined the page for Alain Kirili because it was blank. There has been an error in saving the text. As suggested in the message that I received, I have clicked "edit" and removed the text above, then "saved". Will this article be resubmitted automatically? Thank you very much in advance for letting me know.Annaluka (talk) 19:07, 15 March 2013 (UTC)

villa

Dear FoCuSandLeArN,

I sincerely beg you to have a second look at this prospective submission:

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Mónica Villa

Perhaps not being familiar with our environment and culture, you may not have noticed the true scope of accomplishment of actress Monica Villa. I will spot just a few things that may have passed overlooked:

1) one of a true artist's gifts is MODESTY, which is why she did not submit a life-size CV that would take long lists of names and dates that may say very little to a foreigner.

2) Monica Villa is the FIRST Argentine actor EVER to have obtained a Master's degree awarded by the University of Buenos Aires, a world renowned house of studies that produced talents of the statue of Nobel laureates César Milstein, Adolfo Pérez Esquivel, Luis Federico Leloir, Bernardo Houssay and Carlos Saavedra Lamas ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nobel_laureates_by_country ) and where, among many others, writer Jorge Luis Borges once taught Anglo-Saxon Literature. Her accomplishment sets a precedent that paves the way for future performing artists to imitate and is totally unprecedented in our country of more that 40 million inhabitants.

3) She was the ONLY ONE actor in the cast of "Waiting for the Hearse", an all time cult movie in the Spanish Speaking Americas and Spain, to be awarded an international prize (Huelva, Spain) shared with American Actor William Hurt, at the same level of relevance and peer competence.

4) In the Wikipedia's page dedicated to that movie five (5)other actors of the cast, not at all above her in terms of notability, have links to a biographical Wikipedia page. Villa is, at least, as accomplished as any of them, and rightfully deserving equal treatment. And this is surely an omission that must be redressed. Please see for yourself http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waiting_for_the_Hearse

5) Maintaining a dignified professional attitude in a most hostile environment, such as Argentina's, chronically corroded by flawed democracies and military interventions, is in itself a feat that deserves praise. So much so if the person involved embraces study as a means of self assertion and example for the younger, comparatively weaker generations.

I do ask you to reconsider this submission and offer myself to facilitate all other information that you may think is required.

the Wikipedia notability guideline may be a bit different from what seems to be notable. please see Wikipedia:Notability to understand what i meant. once the appropriate references are in place, feel free to resubmit the article. FoCuSandLeArN (talk) 20:16, 16 March 2013 (UTC)

Remember to check for CV. This is/was a direct copypaste from the "source" listed. Danger High voltage! 07:06, 17 March 2013 (UTC)

Your recent AfC review

Hi, you've placed a Declined review template on my talk page after you reviewed Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Schooling the World: The White Man's Last Burden but this is a mistake, it is not my draft. I only helped the actual article creator to fix a minor problem. The creator of the draft is User:Casenns. I'm not sure how to fix this. Roger (talk) 15:45, 18 March 2013 (UTC)

fixed. regards, FoCuSandLeArN (talk) 18:00, 18 March 2013 (UTC)

Rejection of new musical in London

Hi, while I'm very impressed with your speed, I don't understand why you placed a rejection template in "The Perfect City", an article of a legit production of a new musical in London. Any pointers how to improve the article? Many thanks, --Phoniker (talk) 15:59, 18 March 2013 (UTC)

YourGarageSale (talk) 21:31, 18 March 2013 (UTC) Hi FoCuSandLeArN

I am contacting you because you declined our page page wikie because of unrealible soruces. Can you help me understand how I fix this? I am new to wikipedia and do not know what to do next. I appreciately your time and effort while I learn how to use this wiki

hello. i don't know which article you're referring to, but good resources when in need of referencing are Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners and Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources. hope they help, FoCuSandLeArN (talk) 21:41, 18 March 2013 (UTC)

Okay, I am talking about the YourGarageSale company page. I copied it from a couple other sites and changed all the refereences. Are you able to tell me what needs referencing? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.199.64.87 (talk) 21:47, 18 March 2013 (UTC)

do to copyright issues, wikipedia's unable to accept any copied material. there is no criteria as to what needs referencing, just better judgement. however please have a read about what is considered appropriate; you'll find that very clearly laid out in those links i mentioned earlier. Also be aware that there are policies regarding personal involvement with companies one's writing about. regards, FoCuSandLeArN (talk) 21:55, 18 March 2013 (UTC)

Response: Request For Reliable Sources On Fractal Art Composition

Hello FoCuSandLeArN,

I received the message you sent me on citing reliable sources.

I'm unable to do so because as far as I'm aware I'm the only one that is doing that type of fractal manipulations (It actually goes beyond that).

That's why I decided to start the wiki to get the word out and to provide a central place where people can go to answer the question that they have on how I create the images I do using fractal elements.

Besides my website xzendor7.com, my type of fractal artwork isn't being produced by anyone else.

I've looked around the net since I first started doing this about 2 years ago and I haven't found anyone else that does my kind of art.

If you chose to see what I mean the links below are the best examples to my digital art approach:

The Exploration Of Space

Brimitin Warrior

The Angel Wing Sword Of Arkledious Imperial Wings

Temple Of Golden Fire

The Throne Room

i'm afraid that without extensive independent coverage from reliable sources the article won't be accepted. regards, FoCuSandLeArN (talk) 11:10, 20 March 2013 (UTC)

Article of Sándor Tirpák

Dear FoCuSandLeArN!

Thank you for reviewing my Wikipedia article about Sándor Tirpák. I was sorry to read, that you didn’t find him a notable person as he is one of the best nature artist in Central-Europe both in oil paintings and porcelain painting and a recognized nature and bullfighting painter in Spain. I wanted to add pictures about his award winning works, but it seems that I still can’t add photos (Message of Wikipedia: Your account has not become confirmed yet.) I’m still working on the article before asking for a second review. Could you please give me some tips how it could work? I am new on Wikipedia.org so I would be pleased if you could help me.

Thank you in advance.

Jannamaria (talk) 12:59, 20 March 2013 (UTC)

he didn't fulfil the notability guideline, which is detailed here: Wikipedia:Notability. to be confirmed you have to make a few edits on wiki, which you can easily do in a few minutes. regards, FoCuSandLeArN (talk) 13:15, 20 March 2013 (UTC)

I see you accepted this article a few months ago. It is, in fact, nonsense. Lord Harmar-Nicholls was in fact created a baronet in 1964, as the article states, but all actual sources indicate that the title became extinct upon his death in 2000. Brothers and nephews do not, in fact, get to petition for special privilege to succeed to baronetcies. Since you approved it, the article actually metastasized and became much more ridiculous, with imaginary titles going back several centuries, connections to royalty, and so on and so forth. I've turned it into a redirect to Harmar Nicholls, but perhaps it should be deleted entirely. The lesson, I guess, is to be careful about approving articles without checking out the details. john k (talk) 13:52, 20 March 2013 (UTC)

These things happen regularly. I read an article a few weeks ago in the signpost that mentioned a very extensive non-factual Portuguese invasion somewhere. It took editors something like 5 years to notice, so thank you for doing so! FoCuSandLeArN (talk) 14:01, 20 March 2013 (UTC)
