Run image

[edit]

The run image is a screenshot taken from the episode, all screenshots are fair use property. Bignole 18:18, 11 February 2006 (UTC) You need to be a little more specific about what you mean when you say a rational of fair use placed on it. I don't see your template. Also, The source is television, hence why I put TV screenshot as the source. I went back to the picture and attempted to upload a current version of it, by the off chance that I forgot to put TV screenshot as the source of the picture but it wouldn't allow the change. Either way the source is from the television, what do you want me to do tell you who my television was made by? Bignole 16:07, 12 February 2006 (UTC) Well how do I correct the image to say that cause when I attempted to even alter the picture it would not allow me to do so.[reply]

Youthcomm

[edit]

Re: Your message at User talk:DHowell#Youthcomm about the Youthcomm article

Chrisleydon uploaded all the content. All I did was add a logo that he uploaded, and a {{wiki}} template. You should be putting this message on Chrisleydon's talk page. DHowell 00:46, 28 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Template:User_AMI

[edit]

I just wanted you to read my latest post about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Templates_for_deletion/Log/2006_April_5#.5B.5BTemplate:User_AMI.5D.5D

I don't want you to think I undercut you by changing the template's meaning after you proposed deletion. I now see what I posted was probably not the best thing for Wikipedia. However, I have now changed the meaning and I hope it meets with your approval. --Mboverload 06:11, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I understand. Now that the tfd has been started it must finish though... I have changed my vote to subst and delete. Please do not remove the notice on the template until the debate has been closed by an admin officaly. (responding here as directed on your talk page) Happy editing, 22:52, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
Oh, ok. Sorry, I wasn't really sure about how these things go down =) --Mboverload 23:48, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Reminder...

[edit]

When using template tags on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:test}} instead of {{test}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template. — Ian Manka Talk to me‼ 22:48, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

User page

[edit]

It would be good if you wrote a little about yourself on your user page. It is not a home page, but it belongs to the wiki as general information. Perhaps, take an interest in the layout of others' users pages before starting your own. Snowman 23:12, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Comments from Zazzer, moved from user page

[edit]

Dear Flying Canuck, My name is User:Zazzer. You edited the Royal Canadian Air Cadets Wikipage, recently (02:13, 20 December 2006). You put it as NCO, which means Non-Commissioned Officer. Officer. It, actually, should be NCM. Non-Commissioned Member. Member. If you are non-commissioned, you are not an officer. Not in the least. NCM is the proper term for somebody that is not an officer, not NCO. I am a military member. I know these things. -User:Zazzer. P.S.: Don't fix things you don't know about.

Hello FlyingCanuck. In addition to being a member of the Canadian Forces, I am also the Commander of a Cadet Squadron in the city that I live in. -Zazzer

P.S.: I didn't imply that you knew nothing about the topic. I meant to say that that one little detail was incorrect. Cheers -Zazzer

Let me know if it worked. Mkdwtalk 00:08, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GAC backlog elimination drive

[edit]

This form message is being sent to you either due to your membership with WikiProject Good Articles and/or your inclusion on the Wikipedia:Good article candidates/List of reviewers. A new drive has been started requesting that all members review at least one article (or more, if you wish!) within the next two weeks at GAC to help in removing the large backlog. This message is being sent to all GA members and even members who have been recently reviewing articles. There are almost 130 members in this project and about 180 articles that currently need to be reviewed. If each member helps to review just one or two articles, the majority of the backlog will be cleared. Since the potential amount of reviewers may significantly increase, please make sure to add :{{GAReview}} underneath the article you are reviewing to ensure that only one person is reviewing each article. Additionally, the GA criteria may have been modified since your last review, so look over the criteria again to help you to determine if a candidate is GA-worthy. If you have any questions about this drive or the review process, leave a message on the GAC talk page. --Nehrams2020 23:52, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

July 2007 GAC backlog elimination drive

[edit]

A new elimination drive of the backlog at Wikipedia:Good article candidates will take place from the month of July through August 12, 2007. There are currently about 130 articles that need to be reviewed right now. If you are interested in helping with the drive, then please visit Wikipedia:Good article candidates backlog elimination drive and record the articles that you have reviewed. Awards will be given based on the number of reviews completed. If you have any questions about this drive or the review process, leave a message on the drive's talk page. Please help to eradicate the backlog to cut down on the waiting time for articles to be reviewed.

You have received this message either due to your membership with WikiProject: Good Articles and/or your inclusion on the Wikipedia:Good article candidates/List of reviewers. --Nehrams2020 23:20, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:CC No Rights Reserved.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:CC No Rights Reserved.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rappingwonders (talk) 17:33, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Marble slab logo.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Marble slab logo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 00:58, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Canex logo.gif. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

The following images also have this problem:

GA Sweeps invitation

[edit]

Hello, I hope you are doing well. I am sending you this message since you are a member of the GA WikiProject. I would like to invite you to consider helping with the GA sweeps process. Sweeps helps to ensure that the oldest GAs still meet the criteria, and improve the quality of GAs overall. Unfortunately, last month only two articles were reviewed. This is definitely a low point after our peak at the beginning of the process when 163 articles were reviewed in September 2007. After nearly two years, the running total has just passed the 50% mark. In order to expediate the reviewing, several changes have been made to the process. A new worklist has been created, detailing which articles are left to review. All exempt and previously reviewed articles have already been removed from the list. Instead of reviewing by topic, you can consider picking and choosing whichever articles interest you.

We are always looking for new members to assist with the remaining articles, so if you are interested or know of anybody that can assist, please visit the GA sweeps page. In addition, for every member that reviews 100 articles or has a significant impact on the process, s/he will get an award when they reach that threshold. If only 14 editors achieve this feat starting now, we would be done with Sweeps! Of course, having more people reviewing less articles would be better for all involved, so please consider asking others to help out. Feel free to stop by and only review a few articles, something's better than nothing! Take a look at the list, and see what articles interest you. Let's work to complete Sweeps so that efforts can be fully focused on the backlog at GAN. If you have any questions about the process, reviewing, or need help with a particular article, please contact me or OhanaUnited and we'll be happy to help. --Happy editing! April 2010 GAN backlog elimination drive

[edit]
WikiProject Good Articles will be running a GAN backlog elimination drive for the entire month of April. The goal of this drive is to bring the number of outstanding Good Article nominations down to below 200. This will help editors in restoring confidence to the GAN process as well as actively improving, polishing, and rewarding good content. If you are interested in participating in the drive, please place your name here. Awards will be given out to those who review certain numbers of GANs as well as to those who review the most. Hope we can see you in April.
