Merger of Saugat Bista in Love You Baba

[edit]

Hello, I successfully merged Saugat Bista to Love You Baba. But would you please take look at the destination page to make sure everything is okay, and that I didnt goof-up somewhere in the process? Thanks for your guidance. —usernamekiran (talk) 19:23, 13 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

In this case, all of the content in the director article has already been mentioned in the film article, so a merger is not really required. The director article could have been converted to a redirect immediately. feminist 13:53, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Loser.com

[edit]

On 30 April 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Loser.com, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Loser.com used to redirect at different times to Kanye West's and Donald Trump's Wikipedia entries? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Loser.com. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Loser.com), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Facepalm Facepalm so what should I do, spread out their creation? Many articles of actors and filmmakers don't have separate filmography articles so these redirects are useful, but... feminist 16:00, 16 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah. Probably isn't any obvious solution. I'm not really complaining. Although... it would be handy to have an "Ignore AWB" option on these fancy new beta tools. TimothyJosephWood 16:18, 16 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I dispute the consensus as redirect. It should have been delete and redirect as none of the content was salvagable. Please void your close and let an admin do this one. Spartaz Humbug! 16:54, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, although I think another admin would also close this as redirect and not D&R. feminist 00:37, 19 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
D&R it was... but I looked through your recent closes and didnt see any issues whatsoever. Its simply that this was a very tricky one and the d&r outcome is obviously reserved for admins. -Spartaz Humbug! 14:21, 19 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
To be fair, two "delete" votes that were explicitly against a redirect were added after I reversed my closure. feminist 16:10, 19 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

New Page Review - Newsletter No.4

[edit]
Hello Feminist,

Since rolling out the right in November, just 6 months ago, we now have 805 reviewers, but the backlog is still mysteriously growing fast. If every reviewer did just 55 reviews, the 22,000 backlog would be gone, in a flash, schwoop, just like that!

But do remember: Rather than speed, quality and depth of patrolling and the use of correct CSD criteria are essential to good reviewing. Do not over-tag. Make use of the message feature to let the creator know about your maintenance tags. See the tutorial again HERE. Get help HERE.

Stay up to date with recent new page developments and have your say, read THIS PAGE.

TFD closes

[edit]

You're off by a day, friend. May 22 doesn't roll over until tomorrow. Cheers, Primefac (talk) 18:01, 29 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Deletion process states Discussions are usually closed after seven days (168 hours). Or is it still better to wait until the next day? feminist 18:07, 29 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I generally wait until I see discussions in Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Old unclosed discussions. The "day" rolls over at midnight UTC, so there can be a bit of fudging as far as the exact hours go. You're just the third person I've seen in two days that is closing discussions early, so I've been notifying all parties about it. Primefac (talk) 00:56, 30 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
What I mean is, I don't consider closing discussions that have been opened for more than 168 hours as early. feminist 01:45, 30 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

AXN Pakistan

[edit]

You closed Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/AXN Pakistan as "redirect", but AXN Pakistan was not actually redirected because the target you chose is the same as the article you would redirect. The article should be redirected to AXN (India). GeoffreyT2000 (talk) 02:08, 1 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed, thanks. feminist 10:52, 1 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I wonder whether it was the right idea to close Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/SAS Tag Team Championship as "merge to SAS Wrestling" given that the SAS Wrestling article doesn't exist. (It was a redirect to a page that has since been deleted, and the redirect itself has been deleted.) Did you mean to move the article to SAS Wrestling instead? --Metropolitan90 (talk) 14:31, 3 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

That's funny, when I closed that AfD discussion I don't remember seeing an AfD tag on SAS Wrestling. Either I was wrong and that article was indeed nominated for deletion (in this case I am happy to reverse my closure), or Jo-Jo Eumerus deleted an incorrect article. feminist 01:27, 4 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
SAS Wrestling had been a redirect to Real Quality Wrestling since 2009, but the latter was deleted yesterday via AFD. You'll probably have to reverse your close if only because the only real option from here is to close as "delete". Primefac (talk) 01:34, 4 June 2017 (UTC) (talk page stalker)[reply]
I see, thanks. I have reversed my closure. feminist 02:17, 4 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The US dictionary template was deleted after discussion by only 4 editors even though it fills an important niche since hundreds of millions of English-speakers have grown up with it. I suspect those editors involved may have little anglospheric experience outside the United Kingdom.

I teach English and have worked in dozens of primary and secondary schools in Australia and in dozens of elementary, middle, and high schools in the USA; I have even taught in cued speech. None of these schools taught English pronunciation with the IPA; they all used the short vowels ă, ĕ, ĭ, ŏ, ŭ, o͝o, and ə for æ, ɛ, ɪ, ɒ, ʌ, ʊ, and ə; the long vowels ā, ē, ī, ō, and o͞o for eɪ, iː, aɪ, oʊ, and uː; the digraphs ah, ar, aw, er, ow, and oy, for ɑː, ɑːɹ, ɔː, əɹ, aʊ, and ɔɪ; and the digraphs ch, dh, kh, sh, th, wh, zh, and ng for tʃ, ð, x, ʃ, θ, hw, ʒ, and ŋ. The relationship between short vowels and long vowels is crucial to teaching emerging phonics and this is done naturally with the breve ◌̆ for short vowels and the macron ◌̄ for long vowels. The only new character a student must learn is the schwa ə. This breve and macron system is employed in museums, zoos, dictionaries, and teaching aids across Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the USA.

Could you please reconsider the deletion? Thecurran (talk) 04:31, 16 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Camelcamelcamel, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Hi. You contributed in a previous part of the discussion, so this is just a reminder to you (and any interested talkpagewatchers), that it's the second week of our Movement Strategy Cycle 3 discussion. There's a new topic each week in July, and this week's is: How could we capture the sum of all knowledge when much of it cannot be verified in traditional ways? You can see more details, and suggest solutions or respond to other people's thoughts (from this week and last week) at Wikipedia:Wikimedia Strategy 2017. You can also read a summary of discussions that took place in the past week. Cheers. Quiddity (WMF) (talk) 03:13, 12 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding closure of Lechmi

[edit]

Hi, Feminist, I see that you closed the deletion discussion for the article on Lechmi as "No consensus". I don't disagree that the discussion lacked consensus, I think it lacked a sufficient number of participants to have had any meaningful consensus reached, and I wanted to bring it to deletion review— can I get your thoughts on that? Thanks! KDS4444 (talk) 21:13, 3 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

True. It failed to reach a meaningful consensus after two relists, so a "no consensus" close is appropriate. feminist 03:18, 4 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
