How is link to no-specific-information page http://www.imslp.org helping people to obtain more knowledge about a composer?

And what are chances 3 days old project will survive and grow in next few months? Pavel Vozenilek 04:48, 19 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can't comment on what the odds were, but IMSLP seems to have beaten them in every respect! congrats! -- Myke Cuthbert (talk) 16:18, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hehehe... thank you! :) --Feldmahler 19:20, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Not to mention that you consistently placed your information-free link as the top one. Pavel Vozenilek 04:52, 19 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wasn't supposed to be an info page you know. If you had read the front page of IMSLP even a little you will realize it is supposed to be a score library. You find info of a composer on Wikipedia. You find their scores on IMSLP. Simple right? And for the 3 day old thing, "just watch me" (quoted from Trudeau). And FYI, the project started on January 28. The coding took more then half a month because the programmer was lazy so I had to code it myself in the end. Feldmahler 05:51, 19 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am not going to touch it, it's not my area. Just playing the link on Dmitri Shostakovich doesn't work and neither the one on Edvard Grieg (nonexistent pages). You may move the links from top place. Invalid link on top has short life. Pavel Vozenilek 21:55, 20 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Both links work for me. I also checked from another computer connected to a different ISP. Feldmahler 21:59, 20 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
(The links now work). If you are adding the link to every composer perhaps you should ask to create an IMSLP template for it (like IMDb has). It would be easier and less prone to deletion as spam. Probably Village Pump is the best place. Pavel Vozenilek 21:28, 1 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the advice. I will look into it. Feldmahler 03:56, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
And done. Feldmahler 04:11, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

==IMSLP No More==

[edit]

I'm terribly sorry to read about the demise of your project/web site. But: chin up and don't let the bastards (Universal) grind you down.

It seems to me that Wikepedia has now a bit of a problem; there are thousands of articles linking to the IMSLP site and two templates (Template:IMSLP, Template:IMSLP2) specifically for this purpose. What's going to happen to those? Michael Bednarek 06:21, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, another IMSLP contributor and me are currently in the process of negotiations with an organization in the interest of continuing the IMSLP. Therefore, it may be a good idea to just temporarily note in the templates that the site is down. :)
Also, thank you for the support! --Feldmahler 06:51, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That's good news. I sincerely hope it works out. Michael Bednarek 07:10, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Can you do a 'repair table phpbb_sessions;'? The forum is supposed to be still up :) Regards --Xlotlu (talk) 12:09, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's too bad that the site had to come down, as under Canadian law Universal didn't really have a leg to stand on had you chosen to fight. The case has broad implications, as under their doctrine Wikipedia might have to comply with every law (decency, freedom or lack thereof of press etc.) passed by any country. I hope the IMSLP comes back up in some form or another soon: I tried using web.archive.org to find it but it was impossible to download the PDF files because of robot.txt. --Grand Slam 7 | Talk 02:05, 8 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
