[edit]Trecento generations question
[edit]Hi Mscuthbert, I hope all is well. You had helped me greatly by taking a look at my work on Grimace (composer) and F. Andrieu—I have a quick question for you, if you don't mind. I tried to re-sort the composers at Template:Music of the Trecento into generations; however, I'm not sure how successful I was. I know the concept of generations exists because Landini is considered the height of the second generation and (as I understand) Jacopo is the master of the first. Yet I have been unable to find any sources which list each representative in a specific generation (or defined them one by one), making me unsure about if I put people in the right place. Any thoughts? Best – Aza24 (talk) 20:03, 15 January 2022 (UTC)
- It looks very good to me Aza24 -- the only thing I think is to move Marchetto to his own generation; he's so far from Piero and the others (at least 30 years, more likely 40-50) that it's odd to list him with them. 0th generation? Maybe instead of "Works" we could say "Manuscripts" and hope that great individual works get their own articles later. (My goodness Caccia doesn't have an article! That needs to be fixed). How wonderful that you've done this!. -- Michael Scott Asato Cuthbert (talk) 07:28, 29 January 2022 (UTC)
- I went with a "Predecessors" row for Marchetto. I'm considering adding the few Italian troubadours (like Sordello) and Casella (Divine Comedy) to that row as well, but maybe that's a stretch? I hope to get a few Trecento musicians to GA in the coming future... but it will take me some time to get familiar with the literature on the topic. Aza24 (talk) 22:08, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
- That's fine. Maybe "Earliest" would be better, since Marchetto isn't a predecessor to the trecento, but right in it. Or even, the defining part of it. -- Michael Scott Asato Cuthbert (talk) 05:15, 31 January 2022 (UTC)

Charles III requested move discussion
[edit]There is a new requested move discussion in progress for the Charles III article. Since you participated in the previous discussion, I thought you might like to know about this one. Cheers. Rreagan007 (talk) 06:49, 24 July 2023 (UTC)
A♭ clarinet article
[edit]Hi Michael, I've had a go at getting the A-flat clarinet article up to potential WP:GAN, and left a couple of comments on the talk page. Would you be up for recording a scale and uploading it to Commons? That would be super awesome :) I've been meaning to do it myself for contrabass trombone and cimbasso but life has been weird lately — Jon (talk) 04:51, 28 August 2023 (UTC)
- Hi! I'll try to do it -- I recently moved so I don't have my microphones set up and need to adjust the tuning of the Ab for the humid weather. Thanks for doing a lot with the article! -- Michael Scott Asato Cuthbert (talk) 00:46, 29 August 2023 (UTC)
