Please help us on the Deletion of Joseph Brant Arseneau

We have worked with Dr. Arseneau and have recorded our work for 4 years on WIkipedia. We did so because we and many people belive it is very notable. To be fair it read very much like a resume 2 years a go but we have been trying to edited to concentrate on the contribution we made by recognizing him. Please let us know what needs to be done. I understand your concern, no worries. Familiarize yourself with WP:N and other policies to have your articles included in the future :). -Falcon8765 (talk) 22:32, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

We will read the regs, what should we do for now...? Start again? Thank you very much, your's is the first constructive critisim.Thank you—Preceding unsigned comment added by Bobuller (talkcontribs)

Well your article hasn't been deleted yet, that is up to an administrator's discretion. Just look through the welcome message I put on your talk page for hints and guides and such on how to help :); additionally, the page in question itself has links as to why exactly the article is in contention. Welcome again, we all have to start somewhere here! -Falcon8765 (talk) 22:38, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

I'm having Trouble!

Hi, I just tried to add a reference to the page. Something went wrong and the article was once again deleted. I'm new to Wikipedia, and I'm still learning the ways of the editing page. Would you be willing to insert the cite and reference for me? The reference to the article is "Humongous (Game Developer). This is another Wikipedia page, so a cite may also be added. Thank you.

Please Put the Article Back

Hello, you recently deleted an article I edited on Backyard Baseball 2001. It was right for you to delete it, however it was my fault for forgetting to cite a source. Please put the article back as soon as possible, then let me know. Once I get the message, I will gladly put the cite and references on the page. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by CirqueDelMar (talkcontribs) 05:44, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

I'm actually doing this to see how long it takes to get this computer banned. This is a school computer and I want to get it blocked because there's some super nerd that freaks out when he's banned from Wikipedia. --209.232.112.211 (talk) 20:45, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made: You may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit was inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. Abce2|Free LemonadeOnly 25 cents! 23:30, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Vandalism?

Can you point to one piece of vandalism done by me and, if so, tell me why it is vandalism? I'm not a vandal and never have been. Don't make pointless, unexplainable comments on my talk page anymore. 71.225.223.62 (talk) 00:34, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

That wasn't me though. That edit was done by 173.2.13.19 [1]. That's your vandal. 71.225.223.62 (talk) 01:32, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
No problem. Mistakes happen. It's just that I get accused of this all the time when I never intend to do anything wrong. 71.225.223.62 (talk) 01:38, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

Not vandalism

The final warning you gave here was not vandalism, as the IP gave a thoughtful summary. I've let a note on the talk page about WP:CENSOR, in which the user has not received any warnings based on that. ZooFari 04:03, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Oh, I see. I believe the IP is in violation of WP:Autobiography? ZooFari 04:18, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
Oui, not necessarily vandalism, but repeated reverts of that sourced controversy section while blasting it as "liberal garbage" and such in the edit summaries. -Falcon8765 (talk) 04:20, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
So then it's a WP:3RR? ZooFari 04:25, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
I'd say so, yes; if there is an issue with the section, the person could bring it up on the talk page instead of chain reverting. -Falcon8765 (talk) 04:30, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Take a look at my edit again - I removed a completely unsourced "controversy section" as per BLP guidelines. 98.248.32.178 (talk) 05:43, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Go for it, say why on the edit summary and talk page though. -Falcon8765 (talk) 05:44, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Then please remove the warning from my page, with an edit summary stating it was issued in error. 98.248.32.178 (talk) 05:45, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Paracetamol, NYtimes ref

I have reverted this for 2 reasons.

1. This is not a final FDA regulation but so far only a discussion and opinion of the advisory committee. As such it is not established fact as long as no regulatory action has resulted. Then we can take the FDA guidance as a ref. Now I feel it is too early. They don't imply that the mixture is particularly damaging to the liver, but that it may lead to high dosage and long term use. The other concerns of the committee are similar: Lowering tablet dosage to 325mg and limiting package size like in the UK - also these are only valid concerns and opinions so far, as seen in other countries and their attempt to damage control.

2. As soon as this becomes final regulation, some higher value ref will be available in the form of a FDA released decision. NYtimes is generally not to be used as a medical ref, but such resulting peer reviewed decision or report. I propose to wait until then. It is now too new. The connection of mixtures to liver damage is cloudy in this description. That is why I deleted it until it is final.

Can you reconsider, given these reasons? 70.137.141.26 (talk) 05:53, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Reasonable enough :), please document your rationale on the article's talk page so others will have a record of it. -Falcon8765 (talk) 05:55, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Article

I am very sorry, as you can see I am not very good with Wiki using. I just mistakenly put what I wanted to write in the box above, my apologies. However there is an inmortant issue that I need rectifying. I recently made changes to two articles. Ritchie Neville and Emily Scott. The insertion of text from IP address 114.73.156.242 on 28th June 2009 is not the absolute facts. There is a court case regarding this issue pending and until such time this content needs to be removed as it is liable. Please contact me about this issue. I have never edited a wiki profile before so I apologise for not getting it right the first time, I didn't understand how it works. This information however, is not correct and because of the sensitivity of the issue it needs to be removed immediately. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.242.186.241 (talk) 23:39, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Dear Falcon8765

On Paul Lendvai he said it in this hungarian article about being in the ÁVH from 1951 to 1953. Of course for someone it is better to hide this fact as Mr. Lendvai is well known of his critical view on the hungarian right and in general on Hungary, so he needs his "reputation" abroad so he doesn't look like a sadist communist as most of the ÁVH members were.

This is the original hungarian article:

Hello Falcon8765, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. I am just informing you that I declined the speedy deletion of Tunnel Hill Road - a page you tagged - because: There is sufficient context to identify the subject of the article. Please review the criteria for speedy deletion before tagging further pages. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know. –Juliancolton | Talk 03:13, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Notability guidelines for Ken Marcus

Hi Falcon, why did you add a notice that Ken Marcus's article might not meet General Notability Guidelines?

He started the soft-focus approach that was so popular for glamour photography during the '70s and '80s; he was almost continuously featured in international glamour magazines through that time; he's done worldwide, corporate-sponsored lectures throughout the world; he was the Artist in Residence at Yosemite National Park; and he's had some pop culture references to boot. Don't those things cover at least some of the criteria for Wikipedia's Notability of Creative Professionals?

Thanks, Erin sinclair (talk) 05:15, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

I tagged it because I wasn't sure if he was notable or not :P, since he is, feel free to remove the tag. --Falcon8765 (talk) 05:33, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
Additionally, more references have been added. --Falcon8765 (talk) 05:34, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion tagging of North Star Academy (Vista, California)

I removed your speedy deletion tagging of this article as schools are specifically excluded from A7. The criteria states "an article about ... an organization (e.g. band, club, company, etc., except schools). Per the long held consensus at AfD I've redirected the article to somewhere appropiate. I notice that there's a couple of other comments about your speedy tagging so can I suggest you review WP:CSD and be a bit more careful with your tagging. I don't use Twinkle but I'd be surprised if it listed the full criteria in it's interface but as someone doing the tagging you need to be aware of the full criteria and only tag appropiately. Thanks. Dpmuk (talk) 10:00, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Doh, I know that ><, I blame the hour :P. --Falcon8765 (talk) 10:04, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
Don't worry, we all forget things - it took me a long time to remember to redirect schools rather than prod. I may also have over-reacted a bit due to currently dealing with another user who I fear doesn't really understand the criteria and is using Huggle too readily. Dpmuk (talk) 10:13, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
I can understand, I reread the criteria anyways so I can stop making a fool of myself lol. The yellow bar is a source of dread! -Falcon8765 (talk) 10:14, 9 July 2009 (UTC

List of Deputy Presidents of the Polish Council of State

Hello, Falcon 8765!

I found the names of the Deputy Presidents in the Polish Wikipedia article about the State Council, and it is not allowed to cite Wikipedia as the source. I have, however, found similar information in a Zgapedia article. What is Zgapedia? Is it a Polish version of the Wikipedia or is it independent? Is it reliable? Can you please help me? Michael "Mash" Ashley

Just a fyi on Michael "Mash" Ashley. The article creator placed a {{hangon}} tag after you prodded the article. I assume that they really wanted to contest the prod, so I removed both the prod and hangon tag. However, since they didn't give a reason for removing the prod, I sent it to AfD. --Fabrictramp | talk to me 21:45, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

Little Rock Village

Hello Falcon8765. You added the {{wikify}} tag to a new stub article on Little Rock Village. It's a stub with several relevant (and no irrelevant) article links and references (more than the average stub). While I have no strong feelings on this and am not going to remove the tag, I'm not sure what is unwikilike about it. Beyond making it a non-stub, what specific changes would you make to this stub to better wikify it? Cheers. --Hunnjazal (talk) 04:11, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

A relevant infobox :). There isn't anything wrong with the article's content itself, but infoboxes help. -Falcon8765 (talk) 04:13, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

Vandalism warning

I note with some amusement you left a vandalism warning on my talk page. I'm rather disturbed by this on two levels, firstly, I didn't vandalize anything; a quick review of my edits to Aaron Gray would show I was trying to revert the vandalism and secondly, warning me two hours after I have edited the page is completely useless, warnings should only ever be made to try and discourage vandalism, drive by warnings are wholly unacceptable for any editors, but in addition to being unacceptable, they are completely and utterly pointless for IP addresses as the IP address could be reassigned by the time you get round to leaving a warning. Don't do it again. 92.13.142.215 (talk) 11:23, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Please note that the diff between the two revisions [3] and [4] make it appear that you had added an erroneous sentence and then removed it afterwards, with this in mind I left you a general note about editing tests (not exactly a stern warning). I see now that I was not correct and should have further examined the page history; however you should be aware of [WP:CIVIL] and the associated policies. I would be more than happy to rectify my error had I been informed in a non-patronizing manner. -Falcon8765 (talk) 18:10, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Oddly the AfD page is letting me open an edit window, but then won't let me save my !vote for deletion. I tried another AfD and the same thing happened. IPs aren't blocked from editing AfDs, so something odd is going on. Anyway, feel free to copy and paste my text plus sig:

*Delete The article is completely unsourced, and does not explain why it is notable. Google and Google Scholar have zero hits for any independent reliable sources that might confirm any of the purported meanings. It is probably a hoax. - 91.187.64.57 (talk) 21:13, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

I didn't say he wasn't important enough for Wikipedia; however, there are policies in place to guide article inclusion including WP:COI and WP:NOTE amongst others. If he is as notable as you claim (whether he is or not I don't care an extraordinarily large amount about), then the article won't be deleted and it will be improved upon. -Falcon8765 (talk) 04:43, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
Falcon, a NYTimes obit is considered here as unquestionable proof of notability--did you by any chance read it? the man is not just notable, but famous. . You probably will want to withdraw your nomination. DGG (talk) 06:30, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
I knew he was probably notable, but the COI issue combined with the one reference just made me want to be sure. -Falcon8765 (talk) 08:14, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

Hi Falcon8765 - I've moved your proposal of the name change of this category to WP:SFD where it belongs. By the way - why wasn't this category proposed for creation at WP:WSS/P? Grutness...wha? 02:09, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

I was under the impression that stub categories could be speedy created if there were in an upmerged category with more than 60 articles; I see that I misread the wording though. I removed the ProD; please see the talk page. Essentially, it is notable because two of its three partners became PMs. It needs refs. Bearian (talk) 19:47, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

John Benjamin Sainsbury

I think it is worthwhile having a Wikipedia article on John Benjamin Sainsbury. He was the second Sainsbury's Chairman, and father of Alan Sainsbury, who was instrumental in changing the way shops are displayed today. He helped grow the company by adding shops to Sainsbury's estate and also maintaining its reputation and market leadership. Unfortunately, there are not that many articles on him, and The Sainsbury Archive is a good reference point.

That there aren't many articles on him probably indicates he isn't notable insofar as Wikipedia policy is concerned :P; if you disagree with the prod feel free to remove it. -Falcon8765 (talk) 12:01, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

Make only you're buisness OK ! This article is in construction. The title is a question of the organisation of oil refineries. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fredoues (talkcontribs) 05:16, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

dePRODing of articles

Hello Falcon8765, this is an automated message from SDPatrolBot to inform you the PROD templates you added to a number of articles were removed:

  • PROD removed from Andrew Devane, by User:Phil Bridger, with summary '(contest prod - seems pretty notable to me)'
  • PROD removed from Irad (Torah), by User:Phil Bridger, with summary '(remove prod tag - anyone mentioned in the Bible is likely enough to have received substantial coverage in reliable sources to mean that the article shouldn't be deleted without discussion at WP:AFD)'

Please consider discussing your concerns with the relevant users before pursuing deletion further. If you still think the articles should be deleted after communicating with the 'dePRODer,' you may send them to WP:AfD for community discussion. Thank you - SDPatrolBot (talk) (Learn how to opt out of these messages)

Did you check for sources before proposing this article for deletion? If a film stars a number of blue-linked actors, particularly well-known ones like Frances McDormand and Penelope Cruz, it's a fair bet that it is going to be notable. It received quite a few reviews, see http://news.google.co.uk/archivesearch?q="Talk+of+Angels"+(Spanish+OR+miramar+OR+"polly+walker"+OR+"vincent+perez"). I'm adding sources now. Ditto Hampton Jazz Festival. It's 40 years old and has 700+ news hits. Fences&Windows 00:38, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

The articles themselves do not indicate how they are notable. -Falcon8765 (talk) 01:16, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
