A tag has been placed on David Finley Lighting Designer, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to a nonexistent page.
If you can fix this redirect to point to an existing Wikipedia page, please do so and remove the speedy deletion tag. However, please do not remove the speedy deletion tag unless you also fix the redirect. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Arrogant Sons of Bitches Confusion
Hey, I'm wondering if you can clarify a little more about why the Arrogant Sons of Bitches page keeps getting deleted. Before I created the article last night, I checked why it was deleted the first time, and it said "(CSD R1), was a redirect to an non-existent page." Prior to that, it looks like it was deleted for not being considered notable, yet a) there appeared to be notable sources, and b) multiple members are now in a now-notable band, Bomb the Music Industry!. The article I made last night was deleted for being a recreation of the earlier article (even though it was different), and I feel like it corrected the problem for which it was deleted previously. So yeah any clarification would be great. Thanks! Soave (talk) 17:38, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
- While the article was a bit different, it didn't address the problems brought up at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Arrogant Sons of Bitches. If you'd like to give the article another try, I'd suggest making it at a subpage of your user page. When you think it's ready, put a {{helpme}} tag (note the curly brackets) on your talk page, and have an experienced editor look it over. Hope that helps!--Fabrictramp | talk to me 18:32, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

I have aquestion as to why you undid my last edit, it had no link so it needed to be deleted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mike T Boss (talk • contribs) 00:57, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
- My apologies -- I didn't see there were two parts to your edit. You added <s>Strike-through text</s> in front of the section header -- this is what I (and later User:Frank Anchor) were trying to undo. I didn't see that you were also removing the link to West Geauga Local Schools. However, in this case, it's probably best to leave the redlink alone. There will eventually be an article on West Geauga Local Schools, at which time the link will automatically turn blue. The redlink may even encourage someone to write that article. Hope that helps!--Fabrictramp | talk to me 12:27, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

GOB articles
i left this message on User:Black Kite's talk page (the admin who deleted most of these) but that admin is on a wikibreak.
i noticed that you were the admin who deleted several GOB songs that were up for deletion. On some, you stated that the consensus was delete, when there were 3 people saying strong keep and 1 person saying week delete. I am asking for several of the articles to be reinstated, such as Give Up the Grudge (the bands most notable single that was featured in about 5 video games and received massive airplay), Oh! Ellin (the 2nd most notable single, been in several video games also), Underground (one of there more recent singles that recieved heavy airplay in canada), and For The Moment (there 3rd most notable single). I think that it is unfair that EVERY gob single got deleted, because the person who nominated them for afd nominated every single GOB song and every GOB album, almost in bad faith, i can live with the other singles not having articles, but the ones listed are too notable to not have an article. - -[The Spooky One] | [t c r] 12:41, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
Could you reinstate the articles stated above, i believe they were unfairly deleted. - -[The Spooky One] | [t c r] 12:47, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
- We've already had this discussion about another GOB song, so I won't rehash it again, except to repeat my closing advice: read WP:MUSIC thoroughly so that you understand the issues involved (and read WP:AGF while you're at it, because you've been throwing around a lot of bad faith accusations). Then you have two paths you can follow. One, you can rewrite the articles on a subpage of your user page, with lots of references to show why these singles meet WP:N. When you think they are ready for prime time, put a {{helpme}} tag on your talk page and ask an experienced editor to take a look at them to see if they address the AfD issues. Or two, you can take the issue to deletion review. --Fabrictramp | talk to me 13:53, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
Lima Campus
Are you sure that a redirect is the best thing for the Lima Campus page? I don't care either way, but the Lima Campus site was probably meant to be about the campus. The Lima Campus houses two entirely different schools. The redirect that you set up redirects to one of the individual schools. I don't have any worthwhile information about the campus itself, but maybe someone else does. Like I said, I don't care either way. I'm not arguing, just wondering.LWBuck (talk) 18:54, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
- The article at Lima campus before I changed it to a redirect seemed to me to be about Ohio State University, Lima Campus -- the first section of each article was the same, word for word.
- I had taken the section on James A. Rhodes State College to be an historical name of the school, but now that you've pointed out there are two schools there, I see that's so. *grin* However, James A. Rhodes State College already has its own separate article. Seems like Lima campus should either stay a redirect or be changed to a disambiguation page -- I'm not sure which is better. Any thoughts?--Fabrictramp | talk to me 20:02, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
- And a further question for thought -- if Lima campus changes to a disambiguation page, should it get moved to Lima Campus?--Fabrictramp | talk to me 20:03, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what should be done with the Lima campus page. I changed the information on the page, but I work on the campus so I am going to try to stay away from too much editing. I don't want to own or promote anything so whatever you decide to do with this page is fine with me. LWBuck (talk) 12:03, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
Mobpon
I just received a message saying this page will be deleted. Mobpon's sole purpose is to save people money and save the environment. Their are plenty of other pointless pages that could be taken down instead. Mobpon is not the bad guy. Thank you for your time. --Xfactor54 (talk) 21:19, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
- No one ever said Mobpon was the bad guy. But you might want to take a few minutes to read WP:Notability, WP:WEB, and WP:OTHERSTUFF. After reading those sections, if you think you can make a good argument that the page should stay, I encourage you to make it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mobpon. Thanks!--Fabrictramp | talk to me 21:52, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
KROQ Compilation Albums.
Hi, I added these in like any other compilation album. It is not just a random playlist I made up. I am in the process of finding where I can reference the track information from online, because so far, I have the album cover in my room I can scan in. I don't know why they don't have these compilations anywhere, but I thought I'd just share them with the world. Just letting you know it's not that useless. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JokestrMike89 (talk • contribs) 06:14, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
- You might want to take a minute to read the issues brought up about these compilation albums at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kevin & Bean's Christmastime in the 909. Also take a minute to read Wikipedia:MUSIC#Albums. If you think you can address the issues and requirements, the best way is to write a version of the article at a subpage of your user page. When you think it's ready for prime time, put a {{helpme}} tag (notice the curly brackets) on your talk page and ask an experienced editor to look it over to make sure everything's been addressed. Hope that helps!--Fabrictramp | talk to me 14:46, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
Trevelino/Keller
Hi! I've been trying to update the Trevelino/Keller page so it abides by the guideslines. I'm wondering if it would be best to stub the article? I've compared it to other articles regarding public relations firms and don't see how our site is any different. Could you please help me. Thanks! TKCG (talk) 17:51, 13 June 2008 (UTC)TK
- You really need to read WP:COI first. Wikipedia strongly discourages you from writing about your own company.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 21:58, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Please explain to me how other public relations agency's have articles on Wikipedia? TKCG (talk) — Preceding comment was added at 20:54, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
- A couple of possibilities come to mind. Either they waited for someone else to write an article, or they also have a problem with WP:COI. You might want to read WP:OTHERSTUFF.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 22:16, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Mark Masters Edits
Hi
Hoping you can help me out. I work with Mark Masters and am responible for updating and making changes to his wikipedia entry. This is a newly assigned task so I am just learning all this. I checked his article and it looks like you made some significant edits to it and it is now "protected" so that I cannot make changes. I can verify all the information that was in the original article before you changed it. Can you advise on how I can make the changes or why it was changed to begin with. I appreciate your help. karenkidd@talkradionetwork.com Karen
- The article was reverted back to a previous version (several times) because the new version violated a number of wikipedia policies, especially Wikipedia:NOTADVERTISING#ADVERTISING. Because you work for the subject of this article, you also need to spend some time carefully reading WP:COI. Wikipedia strongly discourages people who have a conflict of interest from editing such articles.
- Because this article has been edited a number of times by people with such a conflict, who have consistently tried to turn this article into an advertisement for Mark Masters, the article has been protected for a short period of time from editing by anonymous or newly registered users. (See Wikipedia:User access levels). If Mark feels there are factual errors on his page, Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_persons/Help#Editing_guide_for_people_with_biographical_articles has a list of accepted ways to fix any errors. Please remember that this applies to factual errors only, and does not mean that he, or anyone for that matter, is allowed to turn the article into an advertisement.
- I hope that helps. If, after reading the links I suggested, you still have questions, feel free to ask.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 17:59, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
Moisés Alou
I guess I understand why you reported my comment as vandalism, but why did you undo the edit? I felt that it clarified the article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mois%C3%A9s_Alou).
"citing numerous fights with umpires whom claimed had a vendetta against him."
It doesnt make any sense without adding the pronoun "he" between whom and claimed.

- My apologies. I read the edit summary and hit revert before I saw the edit you made. (Which I agree was helpful). Which just goes to show why that edit summary wasn't the best idea. :) Feel free to make the edit again, hopefully with a bit calmer summary.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 20:12, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

Hi and thanks for the cleaning up. Oe question though: I understood that linking dates (i.e. 6 January etc) rather than years was discouraged on WP. Was I wrong? Best. --Klein zach 23:45, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
- A date like 6 January can be autoformatted by adding the brackets to it. The purpose of this isn't so much to link it, because the link doesn't add to the readers understanding in most cases, but to format the date in accordance with the reader's preferences. That way January 6 and 6 January appear the same to a logged-in reader. (See Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style_(dates_and_numbers)#Autoformatting_and_linking for a more thorough explanation.)
- If a year is by itself without a month and day, linking the year is discouraged unless it would add to the reader's understanding of the article. If the article said "The Chicago Cubs are an unstoppable team in 2008", besides the obvious POV problems, 2008 shouldn't be linked because it wouldn't really add to the reader's understanding.
- Hope that helps!--Fabrictramp | talk to me 23:51, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Cheshire Cat Userification request
I don't think you are directly involved in the Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Cheshire_Cat_in_popular_culture_(2nd_nomination) or the resulting DRV, but I was wondering if I could trouble you to userify the article for me. If it is too much trouble or you don't want to do so in the middle of a DRV, that is fine, I can wait until the DRV closes (presuming it closes as endorse). My intention is to stub and reform the article per this discussion. Thank you for your help. Protonk (talk) 20:28, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
- As far as I can see, this is something you don't need an admin to do, as the article was simply changed to a redirect, not deleted. This was the edit that changed it to a redirect. If you click on the history tag, you can go to any version you want and copy the source, then paste it into a subpage of your user page. Just be careful not to accidentally restore a previous version in the process.

CDS International Delete - Willing to assist - No COI
Hi. As per your delete comment for CDS International, I am willing to provide assistance. User:RHaworth had good reason to send it to AfD. In regards to the article, the contribtor wrote the article like a news letter, references were improperly used and facts were not cited. Notability for this article will not be an issue. The pictures were not appropriate, content needs to be condensed, basically, a complete rewrite. I am not related to CDS and have no WP:COI whatsoever. Although I do not have a lot of experience, I have become VERY familiar with policy and believe I can fix this article. I will work on the article without creating it, when it's looking decent I'll forward the source for your review. Are you agreeable to this? Do you have the last content? Where do we go from here? - cheers - GaryECampbell (talk) 02:53, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
- I've moved the page to User:DustyRain/CDS. When you think it's ready, please don't forward it to me; instead put a {{helpme}} tag (note the curly brackets) on your talk page, and ask any experienced editor to look it over. Hope that helps!--Fabrictramp | talk to me 13:58, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
- Super - Thanks - DustyRain (talk) 14:14, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks so much, Gary. I don't know if it would be helpful, but using the article on CDS' psuedo competitor, that is similar to it both in stature and ageCIEE as a guide might be helpful. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to help! (CDS International (talk) 20:32, 8 July 2008 (UTC))
WP:HAU, Status, and you!
As you may know, the StatusBot responsible for maintaining the status of the Highly Active Users was taken offline. We now have a replacement in the Qui status system. This semi-automatic system will allow you to easily update your status page found at Special:Mypage/Status which the HAU page code is now designed to read from. If you are already using Qui (or a compatible) system - great! - no action is needed (other than remembering to update your status as necessary). If not, consider installing Qui. You can also manually update this status by changing the page text to online, offline, or busy. While it is not mandatory, the nature of HAU is that people are often seeking a quick answer from someone who is online and keeping our statuses up-to-date will assist with this. Note if you were previously using your /Status page as something other than a one-word status indicator, your HAU entry may have been set to "status=n" to correct display issues. Please clear this parameter if you change things to be "HAU compatible". Further questions can be raised at WT:HAU. This message was delivered by xenobot 22:40, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

I have removed the {{prod}} tag from Josh Bortolotti, which you proposed for deletion, because I think that this article should not be deleted from Wikipedia. Could you userfy this one for me, however that is done? I may have done some research on it and found some refs. Frankly, I can't remember without the article in front of me. So many are being nominated in this area, and so many clearly inappropriately, that I can't keep them straight; the name variants make them a nightmare for anyone, and especially an ignoramus like me. John McSweeney (martial artist)
I feel that you rather quickly closed the Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/John_McSweeney_(martial_artist) afd. A regular martial arts contributor and afd participant (Nate) nominated the article. Two regular martial arts inclusionists and afd participants (jjl and myself) managed only a 'week keep'. Mangojuice misunderstood that John McSweeney was not alive and that WP:BLP did not apply. Mike's assertion 'McSweeney is definitely notable' is without a reference or explaination.
Perhaps next time, a comment or a question before the closure and a few more days would be more valuable. I don't wish for any action - this is just for feedback<g>. jmcw (talk) 09:51, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
- Whether Mangojuice misunderstood about John McSweeney being alive didn't affect the AfD -- WP:BLP imposes stricter standards, and if his/her opinion was keep under WP:BLP, I can only assume it would be keep without it.
- The AfD had been going for 15 days, which doesn't seem like a quick closure to me. No one other than the nom made a deletion argument; the nom's reason for deletion was "gtest inconclusive" -- hardly a strong argument for deletion. Mangojuice, on the other hand, did come up with some promising sources. As I see it (and I've reviewed this again, after reading your comments), the consensus is clearly for keep, even if weakly. (FWIW, I discounted Mike's assertion, because no actual argument was made.) What do you feel it would accomplish by relisting the debate and letting it run for another five days? I have to admit I'm baffled here.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 13:48, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
- On July 21, the article had 7,877 bytes.[1] After the copyright violations were removed, there 2,842 bytes left. 48 hours later, you closed the AFD. That seemed like a quick closure to me after a large change in the article: just my opinion. jmcw (talk) 14:22, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
- You were the one who removed the material, and you !voted weak keep; Mangojuice's argument was based on books not included in the article. JJL's weak argument didn't appear to be based on the material in the article. I still don't see how the removal of the copyvio material affects the debate. (FWIW, I frequently relist debates where there has been a major change in the article since the majority of the debate occured, and I did note that you had removed the copyvio material before deciding to close the AfD). --Fabrictramp | talk to me 14:33, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

WP:PROD at Slaughter of pigs in Croatia and Serbia
A few months ago, you deleted the article Slaughter of pigs in Croatia and Serbia saying it was an expired WP:PROD, and quoting the reason listed by User:Steven Walling - The article's scope is far too nationally specific, which seems pointless as it contains no information to suggest that the process of pig slaughter in Croatia and Serbia is substantially unique in any way.
Unfortunately, I don't see how the original reason for proposing the deletion was relevant, when the English Wikipedia doesn't actually have a generic article about this process. The article Pig slaughter was a later creation, and yet the deleted article was more informative than any of Animal slaughter, Slaughter (livestock) or that one. The appropriate remedy to the specificity complaint would have been to merge the useful information elsewhere, not to have it completely removed!
This was a misguided application of WP:PROD. Please undelete the article. (I'd do it myself, but I was one of the editors of the same article.) Then it can be properly converted into a generic article, if necessary.

Mitsu Hadeishi
Hi --- I'm Mitsu Hadeishi, you recently deleted my wikipedia article, i.e., Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Mitsu_Hadeishi. I wanted to clarify a few things since I didn't notice the afd happening until after my article was deleted. First of all, I think the decision was probably justified, though I'm no Wikipedia expert and I really don't know what the standards are for inclusion or notability. I wanted to say, however, just for the record, that I didn't write the original article, I don't know who did, but it wasn't a vanity page written by me nor was it an "ad for my weblog" as someone commented. The original article contained some mistakes and I suspect someone posted it after reading one of the New York Times articles in which I was briefly interviewed as someone contributing to the life of my neighborhood in the Bronx. I did edit the page a couple of times when errors crept into it.
As far as my "notability" I also wanted to clarify some things. My blog, syntheticzero.com, is currently not a particularly well-known weblog, though for a time it was one of the top few hundred blogs in the country (at least according to a list kept by MIT) --- I started it back in 1999. One of my close friends is Heather Anne Halpert, who started the then quite well-known blog lemonyellow.com, and I was part of a core group of bloggers at the time who were relatively well known, also including Peter Merholz, Stewart Butterfield, Caterina Fake, and a number of others (Peter being the guy who coined the term "weblog", Stewart and Caterina who started Flickr, etc.). Peter, Stewart, and Caterina are all certainly far more well-known than I am right now, of course.
There are a few things the brief article didn't mention --- I've done some work with Miranda July, my Synthetic Zero events have been sponsored by the Bronx Arts Council and have been a fairly major part of the "scene" in Mott Haven, the neighborhood where I live, which is gaining some notoriety in the city as a new artist neighborhood. FInally, I was the CTO of a startup which is currently in stealth mode, which may become notable at some point, time will tell.
None of this is to argue against, particularly, deletion of my article --- I think objectively I probably do fall below the threshold of notoriety that at least some expect from Wikipedia, though again I have no idea what that threshold is, precisely. I did want to mention some of these things just to clarify some things that I didn't get to explain in the afd page which is now closed.
Syntheticzero (talk) 07:06, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
- You might read WP:BIO and WP:NOTABILITY if you'd like to learn about the standards for being notable enough for a wikipedia article. Hope that helps.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 14:18, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

CC:Faculty of pharmacy-ain shams university
Dear Fabrictramp
This is a CC of what I posted in DeadEyeArrow talk page, I'm sorry as I don't know how to send you a link.
Dear DeadEyeArrow I recreated Faculty of pharmacy-ain shams university using the data from the previous one and the web site, Ain Shams University is composed of a set of separated faculties In different places, I tried to merge this article but I found a page for Ain Shams University Faculty of Medicine, so I continue with the used style. I think the original Author was playing not writing, but I’ll try to enhance it more till someone from this faculty handles it. The name of this is Faculty is "Ain Shams University Faculty of Pharmacy" so can you please rename it as the used rule in Egypt is University->Faculty->Collages then schools. Best Regards--Puttyschool (talk) 21:02, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Funk Rock
I saw your were the one who closed discussion about deleting the article on Funk Rock, Unfortunately, I was not aware of the discussion so I was not able to practice. I would like to rise the question again, as I strongly disagree with the decition to merge Funk Rock to Funk.
First of all, it is not a good idea to nominate an unreferenced article for detetion - trying to find and add sources is much better. It I am sure that nominator did not try this, since if he would, he would find 1000's of articles on funk rock. For example, this genere is described at www.allmusic.com, the major music encyclopedia.
Second, the article is not an original research like some users suggested. Allmusic.com is more than enough to prove this, and there also are a lot of other sources.
Finally, I'm afraid you went a little bit formal when closing the discussion. As far as I remember, admins should count serious arguments, not votes. And users supporting merge had very weak arguments.
Merge should be performed when sub-topics are notable enough to be mentioned in Wikipedia, but not notable enough to have its own article (or similiar cases like content forking). That's not the case. The genre is notable enough for its own article - not having an article about the music performed by superstars like Red Hot Chili Peppers and Faith No More certainly would not improve Wikipedia.
So, how do I rise the question again? Or probably your are ready to reconsider your decition right away? Netrat (talk) 13:20, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
- I have reviewed the deletion discussion, and I still feel merge was an appropriate closure. (Please don't assume that I simply counted votes, because that is not the case). Merge and keep are simply two flavors of the same thing. A closure of merge is not a requirement to merge, simply a strong recommendation that it be done, based on what was presented at that time. Certainly if you can improve the article to the point where it justifies standing on its own, there will be no reason to merge.
- From Wikipedia:Guide_to_deletion#Closure: "The AFD decision may also include a strong recommendation for an additional action such as a "merge" or "redirect"." (snip) "these are actions which can be taken by any editor and do not require "admin powers". If they are challenged, the decision should be discussed and decided on the respective article Talk pages. A second AFD discussion is unnecessary."
- Hope that helps!--Fabrictramp | talk to me 14:53, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

Un-deletion request
I suggest your decision to delete the "Patrick L. Anderson" page was in error, based on the wiki policies for "people" and "companies." The comments on the delete discussion about "lightly cited" are clearly wrong; so is the comment about the lack of evidence for the relative size of the firm mentioned in the article, and so is the comment about publications. I am not claiming a lack of bias here, but your "delete" decision will result in new articles popping up that have not been carefully edited to include only accurate statements. I suggest a modest Google search to see if there is, indeed, only a couple of "lightly cited" mentions of this person.PLA 00:38, 8 August 2008 (UTC)panderson1959
- If you take a look at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Patrick L. Anderson, you will see that no one argued for keep. There really was no other decision I could make in keeping with wikipedia policies.
- Normally I would happily offer to userfy this page for you so that you could add the citations you say are out there, but given your username it is quite likely that you would run afoul of WP:COI or Wikipedia:Autobiography. Best to wait until someone else completely unconnected with you decides to write about you.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 16:01, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
- I did look at the record of the delete discussion; the statements I saw in support were clearly incorrect, and even cavalier. You could have checked (verifiability is listed clearly under the NPOV pillar), but apparently felt that was unnecessary. Also, the article was posted by someone else. I actually corrected the actual publications, dates, publishers after a note was published on the page indicating that more accurate citations were necessary; this is one of the recommendations under wikipedia's COI policy. Following it, apparently, renders you vulnerable.
- I don't check Wikipedia very often; now I see that is a wise decision.PLA 00:33, 8 August 2008 (UTC)panderson1959.
- Please note that I never claimed you wrote the article, I simply said that userfying it so you could work on it wasn't entirely appropriate. Yes, correcting errors in an existing article is definitely in keeping with WP:COI; userfying an article so you can completely rewrite it to demonstrate your notability is not in keeping with WP:COI. I would also appreciate it if you would read and follow WP:AGF in this discussion, and refrained from ascribing emotions and actions to me that are false.
- While the arguments about WP:V were not entirely correct, there were no references in the article or in the deletion discussion that showed WP:N being satisfied. Again, there was no other decision I could make in closing the deletion discussion. Yes, I have done a google search; I see you get quite a number of passing mentions and are frequently available to news organizations for quotes, but I'm not seeing any that meet the basic criteria of WP:BIO.
- If you still feel that the discussion was closed improperly, feel free to take your case to WP:DRV.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 15:09, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
Seoul public libraries
You will remember my AfD listing a month ago of 19 Seoul public libraries, which you closed "no consensus, other than these should be nominated separately. No prejudice against immediate renom, as long as they are not bundled together." Just for your information: I decided to wait to see if signs of notability appeared, and have now listed one test case at AfD here, with a proposal for a combined article if consensus is to delete. Ricky Boleto
Why is someone wanting to delete his Wiki entry? Because he is considered a "very minor" TV celebrity and his page is like a Bio. Very harsh. He is on Television reporting the news to our children. I want to learn who he is and why I can let my children listen to him.
This is what Wiki is about, so we can learn about who these people are. With time there will be more info on him. For the time being let us not be so self righteous and overly precious as to who deserve to or doesn't deserve to be on here.
If Ricky still worked in a clothes store then fair enough but as a TV presenter on FIVE and Newsround and a damn good one then I believe he needs all the help, support and encouragement we can give him. He is a young guy with a lot of talent and before long he will be doing very very well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bloomp (talk • contribs) 06:45, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
- I did not nominate the article for deletion, nor do I have an opinion on the deletion. I simply listed it at the television-related deletions so people who have a particular interest in the topic can weigh in, either to keep or delete.
- It would be much more productive to make your argument on the deletion page. Since the person who nominated the article for deletion is questioning notability, you would be doing yourself a favor if you read WP:Notability and WP:BIO first so you can make arguments about how the article does (or can) meet these standards.
- Hope that helps!--Fabrictramp | talk to me 16:00, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
Dead-end page cleanup
Hi. I was adding links to Liquid Bass, which I'd found on the deadend project page, when I saw that you'd edited the page with the edit summary "(Dead-end pages clean up project; you can help! using AWB)". I was a little puzzled because the page didn't have any links to other Wiki pages, so I compared your version with the previous and saw only the addition of a deadend tag. My understanding was that the edit summary you used is for when you actually add links to other Wiki pages (as I just did), rather than when you tag the page as needing those links. Am I missing something?
By the way, I like the "apostrophe-S" and "its and it's" user boxes on your page -- I might borrow those! Auntof6 (talk) 06:20, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
- It just means that I forgot to change the edit summary in AWB -- the other edit summary I use is along the lines of "added maintenance tags", with a link to the WP:DEP project. :) And thanks for helping on the DEP!
- Feel free to borrow any user boxes you like. I
stoleborrowed all of them from other users. --Fabrictramp | talk to me 14:20, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

(And I'm not hard to find -- messages on my talk page get answered very promptly.) --Fabrictramp | talk to me 00:24, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
what are you talking about? there is no way to cover everything in a few minutes. you can either let me call you via cell or figure something else out. I am not really sure how to even discuss it on here. suffice it to say there is a minor wiki war going on. I don't have many recourses. people are already way out of hand. do me a favor and delete this section. don't archive it unless we get good results later. Overmoon (talk) 00:29, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
- Unless you give me more information, I won't be able to help you. How about a link to said wikiwar? Have you read Wikipedia:Dispute resolution? --Fabrictramp | talk to me 00:34, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
- look, I don't want to seem rude. don't be dense. if I link you, that gives the other side ammo too. how about doing what I asked??? give me a way to talk to you that is more private. I am beginning to think that this site needs people on it with much more intelligence. I am not referring to you, but in general. Overmoon (talk) 00:39, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
- Let's look at it from my perspective. A new user come here, posts cryptic messages on my page and other users pages, all of whom have e-mail enabled, yet insists that IM or cell phones are the only way this can be discussed. pov on cub page
Why do you think that "June swoon" is POV? It is mentioned in the section. If that's the case "Heartbreak" is also POV. My reason is I want ot move "Heartbreak" to 1984.Wjmummert (KA-BOOOOM!!!!) 17:15, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
- Yikes -- bad edit summary! Break out the WP:TROUT and whack me. In the edit dif, "and ultimately settling back to mediocrity" was highlighted as a change (and appeared to be POV by an IP user), but now I see it was already there. Obviously time for a lunch break. *sigh*
- However, I'm not sure it's a good idea to change the section header to 1977-1979 and leave {{main|1977 Chicago Cubs season}} as the next line. If the header is three years, shouldn't there either be a link to all three years or none of them?--Fabrictramp | talk to me 17:30, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
- Usually, I'd agree, but for two reasons I think not in this case.... A- it would look choppy, and B- it is still the MAIN article, since it was the most pathetic example. This is, however, just my opinion. BTW dont sweat it. I always forget to sign inWjmummert (KA-BOOOOM!!!!) 17:35, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Kevin Hickey
Just a friendly note about the article Kevin Hickey, which you tagged for speedy deletion under A3, no content. Although another admin deleted the article (under A7, which was also wrong), I have restored it. The article has both content and context, and even asserts notability (see WP:ATHLETE.)

Sorry about that, but I thought that the user was allowed to place another tag on the page if he was editing it and it was not complete. I thought the editor had finished and left the page. - Good job on the article! I made a couple of minor changes here, such as mentioning the subject of the article in the first paragraph and adding the defaultsort tag which will make the article sort correctly in the categories you added.
- If you want to make this into a really good article, you might work on the first paragraph a bit. Wikipedia:Lead_section has some good pointers, especially Wikipedia:Lead_section#Introductory_text.

In the article/stub Integrated criminal justice information system You added an uncat tag but there was a category Criminal law stubs. Since I'm a new editor I don't understand the reason for the uncat tag. --Sultec (talk) 01:11, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

Redirect of Guyana acheivers
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Guyana acheivers, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Guyana acheivers is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Guyana acheivers, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. I think it is time to delete Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Biracial American. It's been around since September 6. Fclass (talk) 14:22, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
- It was relisted on the September 11. There's no deadline -- if the consensus stays as delete, it will get deleted. At the moment, I'm pretty busy in real life, so I'm only popping in for my talk page and watchlist, not to do deletions.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 15:18, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
Thought I should let you know, I assume you missed my notice on the moved talk page, that the article you moved from "Submit new article" to "Tokyo Union" had already also been created under the name "Tokyo union", hence there are now two copies of the same material (though one is missing all the tags you added). Speedy Deletion
I posted a new article "Camp Quality USA" which was deleted at the end of August. This was the first article I wrote & wanted to see if you could help me understand why it was deleted. I found your name there, which I think means that you flagged it? I am not totally sure, so let me know if I am coming to the wrong place. The note said that it was advertising, but I have found 4 other non-profits, specifically camps, that are on Wikipedia. I believe my entry was written without bias, and closely follows other Wikipedia examples I reviewed prior to submission. Can you give me any advice as to how I can get the article back online? Thanks CQNational (talk) 19:08, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, I tagged the article for deletion as an advertisement, and another admin deleted it after reviewing it.
- There are a couple of major problems with the article. First, your username indicates that you have a conflict of interest. Take a minute to read WP:COI -- Wikipedia strongly discourages you from creating articles where you have a conflict of interest, because it is just about impossible to write a neutral, unbiased article under those conditions. My advice is to wait for someone else to write the article. (Also check WP:OTHERSTUFF for the problems inherent in comparing two articles).
- Second, the article did not address the subject's notability in any way, and came off reading like a press release. WP:N and WP:SPAMMER are some good pages to read about this issue.
- Hope that answers your question.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 19:23, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

Aviansie
Hey Fabrictramp, thanks for the note about db-bio. That happened because for some reason, marking in Huggle "Unremarkable people, groups, companies and web content" makes the bio tag. I wonder if that's a bug... -FlyingToaster (talk) 05:12, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
- Looking at all the speedy tags at Deletion#Speedy_deletion, it looks like {{db-bio}} is the only one trying to cover A7, but the wording of the template is definitely not including A7. Looks more like a template issue than a Huggle issue.
- I note (with interest) that whether or not this article fits into any speedy category is being discussed at the AfD. (It's a stretch calling this unremarkable web content, even though the game is web-based). My gut feeling is that when it comes to an 8 minute old page by a first time contributor, prod is a little less bitey than speedy. Of course prods need to be watch listed so they can be taken to AfD if contested, but speedies need to be watch listed as well, since many new editors simply remove the speedy tag.
- Hope that helps, and keep up the good work!--Fabrictramp | talk to me 16:51, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Gojan School of Business, and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Gojan School of Business & Technology. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 22:33, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

question about {{R from other capitalisation}}
greetings Fabrictramp, first off, i'm a newbie so i apologise in advance if this is a stupid question :) i sometimes see you adding the above to some of the things i've redirected (or am watching) and even tho i've read the associated page i dont get it, if you have a moment can you clue me in? for instance...
#REDIRECT [[Steadfast Technology Services]] {{R from other capitalisation}}
what does it add to the redirect that wasnt there before? thanks Mission Fleg (talk) 02:54, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
- For the average user, it doesn't add a thing. (But then, most users never really see the redirect -- they just see the page they got redirected to). The redirect templates (such as redirect to section, from misspelling, etc) help some 'bots that work on redirects and some mirror sites that may not want to include certain types of redirects.
- I add the templates when I move a page because I can do it with just a couple of mouse clicks with Twinkle. If it took more effort than that, I wouldn't bother. :) --Fabrictramp | talk to me 13:16, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Coords
Hi. You asked about the use of coordinates. I changed the locations of a couple of articles, because pointing to the middle of the street seemed ambiguous. I point to more-or-less the middle of an object, or the front entrance, or something else that seems to answer the question, "where is it?"
One thing about {{coord}}: most of the parameters are stuck together with underscores rather than separated with pipes. E.g. "|type:landmark_region:US_scale:10000", not "|type:landmark|region:US|scale:10000" or "|type=landmark|region=US|scale=10000". Just to keep it interesting, the "display" and "format" parameters are coded in the latter form. :-)

- Thanks for the pointers! Much appreciated.
- Another question, if you don't mind. I got the coords I used from typing in the address into Google maps and snagging the latitude and longitude from the URL. Any pointers on how to get the geodata for the front/middle of the object? (Well, other than taking my GPS into the library with me next time I go. *grin*)--Fabrictramp | talk to me 18:39, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
- I use the ACME map site, which is on the list that coord provides. That gives you a cross-hair, and a box with the coordinates it's pointing at, which you can copy. And for the US, it gives you USGS topo maps (though I've seen places where they aren't aligned properly).
- ... Speaking of which, for the Sacramento library, I aimed at that archway on I Street, but afterwards I happened to look at the topo map, which seems to suggest that only the part of the structure to the east of that is a public building?
- — WWoods (talk) 19:32, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks again!
- You've got the pointer pretty much in the lobby of the main library. The part directly
eastwest is most of the stacks and thesoutheastsouthwest is a connected parking structure. Thewesteast side is a combination of public meeting rooms, stacks, and retail businesses, depending on the floor. (It's a bit confusing). Short story is, the pointer is at a great place.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 19:39, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

Question about Deleted Content
Hi my username is Bizzand. An article I wrote was deleted twice, first because someone said it wasn't noteworthy or "real," then because it was "blatant advertising." The article was on Trey Green - it's not advertising, he's an old bandmate of mine but I'm not advertising for him - if I was advertising I'd write one about my band! I just thought he should be in Wiki because he's now on television, radio, iTunes, etc - people ask about him...please let me know how to write this article so that people don't "speedily delete it" when you have a chance. At this point I think people probably read it and thing I'm making it up or something? Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bizzand (talk • contribs) 19:41, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
- I've read through the most recently deleted article on Trey Green, and I don't think think subject (at the present) stands a chance of passing the requirements at WP:MUSIC, specifically Wikipedia:MUSIC#Criteria_for_musicians_and_ensembles. And since he's an old bandmate of yours, you need to read WP:COI before you proceed, especially because the prior version definitely reads like an advert even though you don't mean it as such.
- If you decide you want to tackle the article anyways, make sure you write the article so that it's clear to the casual reader which part of Wikipedia:MUSIC#Criteria_for_musicians_and_ensembles is met, and make sure you include references that are independent of the subject (the previous version had no independent refs). I'd strongly suggest that you write the article in a subpage of your user page, and when you think it's ready for prime time put a {{helpme}} tag (note the curly brackets) on your talk page and ask an experienced editor to look it over.
- Hope that helps!--Fabrictramp | talk to me 19:51, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
Thank you - I appreciate the feedback, very helpful. Is there any way to get the text back for me to use in re-building? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.115.14.135 (talk) 12:53, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
- I won't provide the text because of your WP:COI issue (see the box at the top of this talk page), but if you take a look at Category:Wikipedia administrators who will provide copies of deleted articles you can find a willing admin without too much trouble. Again, I think reading WP:COI carefully will be a very good idea.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 12:58, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
Cleaning up dead-end pages
As you placed a "Uncategorized" tag on Ambient pressure as part of the clean-up project, I wondered if you could help me with the problem I had with that page? The background is:
- While editing Isobaric counterdiffusion I found that I couldn't wiki-link to explain "ambient pressure" as it had no article at that point; and I couldn't just link to "ambient" since it is a dab-page which doesn't mention ambient pressure.
- So I naively created "Ambient pressure". Of course, I soon realised that it would never be more than a dictionary definition, so I started the process to move it to Wiktionary.
- However, it arrived in Transwiki and has been sitting there since August in a category "Move to Wiktionary". I'd really like to have the wikipedia article "Ambient pressure" deleted and just use a wiki-link to Wiktionary in "Isobaric counterdiffusion" to explain the term.
Do you have any idea of what I should do next? You could speedy delete "Ambient pressure" for me as it is just a dictionary definition. But then what should I wiki-link to in "Isobaric counterdiffusion"? Should I just wait and keep hoping it will arrive in Wiktionary - or do you know of any action that I have to do to kick-start its move there? Thanks for any advice you can give. --RexxS (talk) 23:45, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
- Probably the best route would be as follows:
- Create the appropriate page at wiktionary yourself.
- Change your link in Isobaric counterdiffusion to [[wikt:ambient pressure]]
- Replace all the text in the ambient pressure article with {{Wiktionary}}, which will link the page to the wiktionary article for those who might search for the term independent of the isobaric counterdiffusion article. Remember that the {{Wiktionary}} tag is case sensitive, so you may need to pipe it to get the desired results if the case of the wikipedia and wiktionary page names don't match.
- Thanks for the prompt response! I actually considered the first two steps a while ago, but fell down at the first hurdle. Creating an entry in Wiktionary seems such a complex process, I gave up. I realise though that it's something else I will have to master, so I'd better knuckle down and do it. --RexxS (talk) 00:20, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
- Haven't done it myself, so I can't guide you there. Have fun!--Fabrictramp | talk to me 15:43, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
RCI0
I note that you have speedily deleted RCI0, without the courtesy of discussing the matter with me (I created it) first. That page where users with no Javascript are directed, if they click on the Javascript-based "expand" links in their watchlists etc. Please recreate the page, and list it at AfD if you wish to dispute its existence, Thank you. Andy Mabbett (User:Pigsonthewing); Andy's talk; Andy's edits 15:25, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
- I apologize for any hurt feelings you have about a lack of discussion. As an experienced user (which I did not know you where when I deleted the article), I'm sure you know that most speedy deletions aren't discussed much, that being the point of speedy deletion.
- I have no problem recreating the page. However, this doesn't seem like something that should be hanging around in article space, especially as it was. (99% of the people who don't have JavaScript installed would have been confused as to why they wound up there, especially since two other editors, myself and the editor who nominated it for deletion, did not understand what you were trying to do). So rather that just whisking it off to AfD, I'd prefer to do a little problem solving before recreation if you don't mind.
- It seems this is a software issue. Has this been discussed anywhere? Could you point me to that discussion so I can see the consensus? That might help me to put appropriate comments on the page to avoid this problem again.
- Again, I'm uncomfortable leaving this in article space, but articles also (generally) shouldn't redirect to other spaces, so I think this needs a broader discussion. I'm not convinced AfD is the appropriate venue for that.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 15:40, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
- Where did I say my feelings were hurt? As for your 99% statistic, can you cite that, or did you just make it up? You may be right about AfD; I'm not aware of any prior discussion, but I'd be happy to debate the page on its talk page, once you've recreated it. Andy Mabbett (User:Pigsonthewing); Andy's talk; Andy's edits 16:07, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
- The same applies to RCI1. Andy Mabbett (User:Pigsonthewing); Andy's talk; Andy's edits 16:10, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
- I didn't say you said your feelings were hurt, just that I was apologizing if they were. If you aren't upset about a lack of discussion, then I have nothing to apologize for. As for the 99% "statistic", you know full well that it was a figure of speech. There's no way to document something that hasn't yet happened, as evidenced by my use of the word "would".
- Since you don't seem to want to have a constructive discussion here, I've recreated the page as per your request. You might want to put a {{hangon}} tag on it. I didn't remove the speedy tag (because of the lack of constructive discussion, I don't really have a solid reason to decline the speedy).--Fabrictramp | talk to me 16:16, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
- Without being aware of this discussion, I subsequently speedied both. They simply have no business being in article space. It's up to Pigsonthewing to justify, via policy and guidelines, why they should be articles. He has asked that I restore them, and I've declined, because there is no justification. Rather, I suggested that if he wants to discuss further, he list them at DRV. We'll see where it goes from there. Just thought you should know. AKRadeckiSpeaketh 16:45, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

Richard Alan White
Hey FabricTramp, thanks for the deletion and the info. It's Important to note that I did not write an article about my self. All public relations material in regards to me the human flesh and blood and my person were written by my PR representative. My band, my accomplishments are all worthy of being posted at wikipedia as I Richard Alan White aka the Raw420 am a world renowed filmmaker and responsible for the world wide publicity for Bad Religion, Epitaph Records, and Brett Gurewitz.
With that said I elect you as the person to write or post an article about me at wikipedia. As you said someone will eventually do it,

- When I posted my reply last night, there was only one redlink on the list, Owain Wyn Evans, which was incorrectly deleted. Soldier First class was (incorrectly) deleted 6 hours later using A1, not the G1 you had tagged it. Megan Baker was also incorrectly deleted later as an A7 after my reply, but has since been recreated. (There were definitely assertions of notability).
- I'm not sure what the point is of bringing these up are, unless it's to try to justify your incorrect tagging by pointing out that others are making mistakes, too. At least, that's how it comes across.
- If you're keeping score, take a look here. All the edit summaries you see of "Requesting speedy deletion" are deletions that were declined. Yes, you had a lot that were also deleted (hopefully all of them correctly). But every bad deletion request means a potentially valuable new editor may leave wikipedia forever. It also wastes the time of other editors who have to clean up the wreckage, something I spent a lot of time doing last night and this morning.
- I hope you'll decide to take a few minutes and read the guidelines I pointed out to you on your talk page. If you do that, and apply them correctly, I'm sure you'll become a great editor and a wonderful asset to wikipedia. But if you blow off warnings and nitpick (yes, I still think your above posts are nitpicking, but perhaps that's because I'm still cranky from the amount of cleanup I did), you will have less and less fun editing. It's up to you.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 23:13, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

I have seen that you deleted an article under construction. This means that it is NOT COMPLETE. It is not fair to do this because no one else got to edit it. Redirect of High like five
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on High like five, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because High like five is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting High like five, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Steve McCabe deletion
hello, RE: Steve McCabe [musician] entry DELETION
can you post something about why this entry may have been deleted? it is referenced by other wikipedia and various other websites and references, and is more worthy than some i have seen, less than others.
I appreciate the need for credibility and support in order to keep wikipedia noteworthy and authoratative, if users could have some other guidelines a bit more specific than 'noteworthy' , 'citations required' etc. would be useful
but hey whatever... you may turn out to be the guy that didn't sign the beatles in 1964!
- There are some very specific guidelines, which are WP:BIO and WP:MUSIC. The article didn't have any information that would lead someone to think any of those criteria had been met. While the article was referenced (which I always appreciate), none of the references met the guidelines of WP:RS, and a quick internet search didn't turn up any obvious ones I could use to justify declining the speedy deletion request.
- If you want to sign in (or create an account if you don't have one), and if you think you can get the article into a shape where it will meet the above requirements, I'll be glad to [[WP:USERFY|move it to a subpage of your user page] so you can work on it. Andorno and Bioethics
Dear Fabrictramp, I have recently written (or completed) two articles in Wikipedia, one about myself (“Roberto Andorno”) and the other one about the International Bioethics Committee of UNESCO (“International Bioethics Committee”). In both cases have appeared warning messages at the top of the articles indicating that “A major contributor to this article or its creator appears to have a conflict of interest with its subject”, that “this article does not cite any references or sources” (in the first case), and that “this article or section is written like an advertisement” (in the second case).
I think those warnings are mistaken, because all the statements included in both articles are based on external sources that can be easily verified and are indicated in the articles themselves. The article on the “International Bioethics Committee” is not an advertisement, but just a description of a body the United Nations. Could you please tell me if (and how) I can remove those warnings? Thank you in advance Roberto Andorno
- Wikipedia strongly discourages you from writing about yourself or your organizations. (Please read WP:COI and WP:AUTOBIO.)
- While the articles are well referenced (thank you!), the problem with autobiographies and conflict of interest articles is that as human beings it is almost impossible to write in a neutral, unbiased way about ourselves or things we are closely connected to. The tags are placed on those articles to alert readers that such a bias may be in the article, and that the reader should be alert. The International Bioethics Committee article is a good example -- you see it as just a description, but I, as someone with no connection to anything close to it (my only bias might be that in general I think the UN and its agencies do a lot of good work), see it as a press release advertising the work of this committee. Obviously I'm not the only one who reads it that way, since a different editor added the {{advert}} to the article.
- So at this point, my advice to you is to stop editing those two articles (except in specific cases laid out in WP:AUTOBIO, either through your account or through your IP addresses. And please don't ask your friends or colleagues to edit the articles, which would still be a WP:COI issue. There is a cleanup task force that reviews articles with conflict of interest problems, so my suggestion is to let them work their way around to it.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 15:04, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
David Godman article
Dear Fabrictramp, I have just read the discussion that led up to the deletion of the article on David Godman (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/David_Godman])and I would like to bring this article up to wikipedia standards. I do not think it will be difficult to establish Godman's notability. He has written numerous books and is a leading expert on the Indian Sage Sri Ramana Maharshi and his teachings and disciples. Could you please let me know the best way to proceed? with best wishes, (Iddli (talk) 03:04, 27 October 2008 (UTC))
- Basically, my closing summary said it all: "While several editors have asserted notability, reliable independent sources haven't appeared." Check out WP:RS, and if you think you can find what's needed, I'll be glad to provide a copy of the article for you to work on.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 14:56, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
- Fabrictramp, Here is a quote from New Lives, ISBN 978-8186569498, published by Indica Books, 2004:
"David Godman still lives in Tiruvannamalai, almost 30 years after he arrived. He was the Ashram’s librarian for 7 years, then devoted himself to writing and research. He is now the most important living writer of books about Ramana Maharshi, and is best known for his anthology of Ramana’s writings and dialogues called, “Be As You Are”. To date he has published 11 books…and more are on the way." (This article can be found here: http://www.newlives.freeola.)
And here is the introduction to an interview of David Godman by Maalok (I tried to supply the link on Maalok's site but it triggered a spam filter.):
"David Godman is best known for his book, Be As you Are – The Teachings of Sri Ramana Maharshi (Penguin) which is one of the most articulate and well-organized books on the teachings of Sri Ramana Maharshi. Indeed, this book serves a reader in not only giving an excellent overview of the teachings of the Maharshi, but also provides an in-depth look at the very core of Sri Ramana Maharshi's instruction. David has also written or edited ten other books on Sri Ramana Maharshi, his disciples, and their teachings. David has a natural gift of interspersing the teachings with numerous anecdotes, making the reading easy to comprehend and, more importantly, very enjoyable! In my opinion, each of David's books provides a rare and multi-faceted glimpse into the infiniteness of Sri Ramana Maharshi.
There are two ways in which David's books are clearly unparalleled. First, on reading these books, it is clear that David has put in an immense research effort in ensuring that what is presented is authentic. He has gone to great lengths to verify the facts by corroborating them through multiple archival sources and interviews. The scholarship of these writings is therefore unquestionable. Second, the author and editor, David, is not merely a scholar on Sri Ramana Maharshi. He has been actually living the teachings of Sri Ramana (as will become evident from the interview that follows). After experiencing a state of silence by reading some writings on Sri Ramana Maharshi, David was impelled to visit Ramana's Ashram in 1976. His intention was to make a short trip. However, he never left, and since that time, for the most part, has been living in Tiruvannamalai -- the town in South India where Sri Ramana Maharshi spent all of his adult life. David has lived in the presence of many of Sri Ramana Maharshi's disciples, imbibing and instilling the attitude of devotion and seva to the Guru. In fact, the publishing rights (and monetary gains) of many of his books go directly to the ashrams of the various Gurus. Therefore, in addition to the obvious scholarship of his works, David is able to provide a unique perspective that is indeed experiential. The scholarship and experiential nature of David's writings makes his books a real treasure -- a treat for any reader, a spiritual aspirant or not!"
Please let me know if this is adequate proof of Godman's notability. I would be happy to supply more evidence if you feel more is needed. Thanks for your help, (Iddli (talk) 00:25, 28 October 2008 (UTC))
- I really don't need (or want) to see all your arguments for notability here on my talk page. I only need to know that after reading WP:RS you want to give it a whirl. Seems like you do, so I've userfied it to a subpage of yours, User:Iddli/David Godman. Edit it all you like there -- when you think you've resolved the notability issue (and read WP:BIO carefully), put a {{helpme}} tag on your talk page and have an experienced editor look it over.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 00:31, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

Call And Response: The Remix Album
I had added a reference from the bands official website (i.e. an official source) and there was a link to an independent retailer (Amazon) offering the album for sale, if this isn't proof that the album is going to be released and therefore a notable release I don't know what is! If you feel the album still isn't notable then nominate the artical for deleation and stop deleating the content yourself.
- Just because an album is going to be released doesn't automatically make it notable. Please take a minute to read WP:MUSIC and WP:N. The band's website is not an independent source and being listed on Amazon doesn't show notability, either.
- I have not nominated the article for deletion because I don't think it should be deleted. However, there just isn't enough proof of notability for a stand-alone article. WP:MUSIC says "Album articles with little more than a track listing may be more appropriately merged into the artist's main article or discography article", which is what I have done. (Please note that changing an article to a redirect is not considered the same thing as a deletion in wikipedia).--Fabrictramp | talk to me 18:18, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
DVXC (Band) Deletion
Heya. I noticed that the page was deleted, and looking through the "Why was my page deleted" article, I understand why it may have been deleted, but I just wanted to ask what "didn't assert the importance or significance of the subject. using TW" means?
Thanks in advance
Darko (talk) 18:57, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
- The full deletion summary was "Speedy deleted per (CSD A7), was an article about a band, singer, musician, or musical ensemble that didn't assert the importance or significance of the subject. using TW". Parsing it out, it means I deleted the article under Wikipedia's Criteria for speedy deletion #A7, which is for article about a band, singer, musician, or musical ensemble that didn't assert the importance or significance of the subject. In other words, there was no assertion that the band meet any of the requirements of WP:MUSIC or WP:Notability. The last part, "using TW", simply indicates which helper script I used to make this a bit easier. Did that answer it?--Fabrictramp | talk to me 01:20, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
Reading through WP:MUSIC, I see why now =P And I totally understand. Oh well! Thanks for the clarity! Darko (talk) 05:30, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
Wikipedia Editor Assistance Request
Dear Wikipedia:
We are attempting to create a Wikipedia Page for Lou Stanasolovich who is founder, CEO and President of Legend Financial Advisors, Inc. in Pittsburgh, PA. Our company Web site is www.legend-financial.com. We are having difficulty once we have created the page, it is being deleted and we are not sure what we are doing wrong. We are putting in descriptive content that uses a neutral point of view and we believe we are complying with Wikipedia's editorial guidelines. We are primarily seeking to post factual biopgraphical information about Mr. Stanasolovich. Mr. Stanasolovich is a highly regarded and an extremely accomplished financial advisory professional who is frequently sought after by the national media and industry conferences to speak about various topics. Our goal is to create a short, factual Wiki about him as his name is often searched upon in search engines due to the media recognition he receives. We have noticed that a friend of ours in the financial advisory profession, Harold Evensky has successfully built a Wiki article and we were attempting to model Lou's after his but it still got deleted. Could you please advise us as to how we can mold the content a certain way in order to create and sustain the article? Also, is there a Wiki customer service contact person we could speak with directly by telephone if we continue to experience problems? We are excited about being part of the Wikipedia community to provide objective information about one of the most prominent figures in the financial advisory profession. Please advise.
Best Regards,
Christopher J. Kail Legend Financial Advisors, Inc. (412) 635-9210 legend@legend-financial.com --LFA061807 (talk) 14:19, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I see you've just fixed the capitalisation of the "M" in the name of this article. I wonder though if it's correct yet. Sometimes the "L" would be a capital too. It's only one of several issues with the article, but it'd be good to check just now while the issue's in mind. (Although I guess maybe you were just checking recent article creations, but perhaps you know of the subject?) 81.178.67.229 (talk) 22:12, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

Hi Fabrictramp. Thanks for your feedback on the Douglas September page. I added some references as requested, can you specify other areas that require verification if needed, or if it's sufficient. Any other rrecommendations? Slowly getting the hang of this and I appreciate your input. --Nikkeynikkey (talk) 21:59, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
- Wikipedia:Citing_sources#When_to_cite_sources and Wikipedia:Verifiability have some good information about sourcing articles and a worth the read.
- Just a few comments on what's there: I'd recommend a some quality independent reliable sources if you want to ensure --Nikkeynikkey (talk) 23:24, 11 November 2008 (UTC)no one comes along and requests deletion on this article. The uncut.co.uk link isn't showing September's notability at all, and the www.chrisjensen.com link is a press release. They're a start, but by themselves aren't enough to meet WP:Notability.
- Also, the external links section is closing to begging for a linkfarm template. Probably just the link to www.douglasseptember.com is all that's needed.
Superscript text
I'm sorry, there is an uncut reference link on the page. the link http://www.uncut.co.uk/music/bob_dylan/special_features/27 is there as reference 3
On the page (about half way down) it states:
Tracks Influenced by Bob Dylan
1. Douglas September - Lady & I Taken from the Gold Circle album TEN BULLS Haling from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, poet, painter, storyteller and singer-songwriter Douglas September cites among his heroes Tom Waits, Captain Beefheart, and Rimbaud. But the name of Bob Dylan heads the list. With its lyrical reference to “Desolation Row” and extraordinarily Dylanesque voice, “Lady & I” first appeared on his 1997 self-released debut, but was re-recorded for his first commercially available album, 1998's Ten Bulls in this superior version with Bill Frisell on guitar. September's last album, 2001's Oil Tan Bow, included versions of Dylan's “Girl From The North Country” and Woody Guthrie's “I Ain't Got No Home”.
Isn't that sufficient? I am working to find many of his reviews from the sources, I am hoping other fans will help now that his page is up. Your help is appreciated. --Nikkeynikkey (talk) 22:52, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
Also added all music guide as a reference [3] does that help? really trying :) --Nikkeynikkey (talk) 23:01, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
- The allmusic link does help. And definitely keep trying! :)
- The problem with the uncut reference is that it doesn't show anything about why September might be notable. Yes, it does verify that September lists Dylan as an influence, but that's about it. --Fabrictramp | talk to me 23:19, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
Sorry not to be picky but the uncut reference gave Douglas September #1 on their chart of all songs influence by Bob Dylan and put his song on their magazine's CD with that special edition. Isn't that notable in itself? Thanks for the support, I'm going to keep at it. --Nikkeynikkey (talk) 23:24, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
- Not good to base notability just on that, because it's basically a mention in a list. Yes, he's first on the list, but there are a ton of lists like that out there (and the blog format won't help, either). I'm not saying to remove it, just that if you want to make a quality, deletion-proof article, you'll want a number of references about him (and the longer the mentions, the better).
- Wikipedia:MUSIC#Criteria_for_musicians_and_ensembles has some good hints on what to look for. On number 1, note the words "non-trivial". Based on my wikipedia experience, I'd say the uncut mention is borderline and the allmusic link is a bit better. HTH!--Fabrictramp | talk to me 23:35, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
i added cbc radio 3 under external links, should it be a refererence too or does that become redundant? How many more should I try and find to have the notice removed? thanks again.--Nikkeynikkey (talk) 23:42, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

Baseball Players in the 1990s
I noticed that there were several AZ Diamondbacks players who did not have pages on the Category:Arizona Diamondbacks pitchers {I tried to link but failed}. I added the Joel Adamson page and the link to the stub for 1990s baseball players was deleted and one added for {baseball pitchers born in the 1970s} was added. I, innocently, re-added the {1990s-baseball-pitcher-stub} link that I had actually only left from the Armando Almanza page I was using as a template. When it was deleted a second time, I contacted Waacstats who responded that this had been discussed and finalized in the past leaving the link to the stub sorting page WP:WSS/P but I did not find it, suspecting that the problem was I did not know how long ago this discussion occurred. Waacstats also commented that you were the only baseball person to resond. I am principally interested in why a solution of both is not the best choice, but additionally, as I largely do not care when a player was born and if I was searching around, when a player played would probably be the most useful information. Autkm (talk) 20:17, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
- Looks like this was discussed in September (Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Baseball/Archive_7#Stub_sorting)
- IIRC, my response to the proposal was that the original way ({{1990s-baseball-pitcher-stub}}) was chosen because it made it easier for references, but that the new way (and I don't remember why the change was proposed) wouldn't be the end of the world -- if you knew a player played in the 1990s, they were more than likely born in the 1970s or 1960s. I still think the old way is slightly better for readers and editors, but I didn't think it would be a huge deal.
- If it's bothering you, feel free to bring it up again at the stub sorting page. :) --Fabrictramp | talk to me 20:49, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
I didn't have any real problems and stub-sorting is among the least of wikipedia's problems. I still don't know what the accepted policy is on these conversations whether they occur in people's page or in an article's discussion. Should I leave everything for posterity or delete when I have acquired an adequate answer? Autkm (talk) 04:33, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not 100% sure I understand your question, but I'll take a stab at answering it anyways. :) Article talk page discussions generally get left as is. If it gets super long it might get archived, but that's pretty rare. Each user generally takes care of their own talk page (it's tacky for someone else to delete stuff). The preferred method is archiving, and there are bots that will do that automatically. Did that answer it, or am I way off the mark?--Fabrictramp | talk to me 15:19, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

Re: DataWeb Corporation
Hi, Fabrictramp.
Earlier today, I posted an article on DataWeb Corporation, a Seattle company for which I admit I've done some minor consulting work in the past. You deleted my article for "blatant advertising."
I admit I didn't check the Wikipedia standards before I wrote my article. However, I tried to steer towards giving descriptions of DataWeb's products without actually marketing them in the article. Other company articles I've found on Wikipedia seem to have more detailed descriptions of their high-tech products than what Wikipedia standards would indicate is proper. (See the pages of Triple Point Technology, GoldenSource, and XTuple).
But never mind. If possible, I would still like to post a Wikipedia article for DataWeb Corporation, even if it's a very short one. (I want to get past the possible COI and comply with Wikipedia standards.) The company is small but has a significant number of Fortune 100 clients. (AT&T selected DataWeb's HostRAD as its "Platform of Choice" for all manner of work.)
The problem is, DataWeb has not received much publicity or any awards for its work. I've only found two published articles about the company and its products on the web (the article links I attached to the first version of the article).
What I think makes DataWeb Corporation worthy of a Wikipedia article is this: When DataWeb's HostRAD platform was released in 2001, it was the first development platform to be offered as a Platform as a Service. Having a "first" in the high-tech world would qualify the company for an encyclopedia entry, wouldn't it?
I realize that Wikipedia is not meant to be a "vanity page," but I'd like to try again at re-posting the article. Would an article containing the following info be short enough and "informational enough" to comply with Wikipedia standards?:
1. A brief, one paragraph description of DataWeb Corporation, with a very general description of its core product area "web applications."
2. A list of DataWeb's products (HostRAD, WebAppsFast.com) with a short, one-line description of each.
3. A brief, one paragraph history of the company.
Let me know your opinion. I appreciate your feedback.

- WP:FIRST and WP:Notability would be good reads. Looks like notability will be a problem, since, as you say "DataWeb has not received much publicity or any awards for its work."
- And since you've done consulting work for the company, read WP:COI. (Yes, I know you said "minor" consulting, but it still applies).
- If you still want to take a stab at it, make the first draft on a subpage of your userpage, such as User:LindsayRS/DataWeb. When you think it's ready, put a {{helpme}} tag on your talk page and ask an experienced editor to take a look at it. HTH--Fabrictramp | talk to me 15:28, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
NEOTU
I received several times a message stating that there is a conflict of interest regarding Neotu
There is no conflict of interest. The two galleries (Neotu in Paris and Neotu in New York) closed in 2001. So far I am the main contributor and try to trace the history of Neotu galleries which had a major role in the furniture design. Others are welcome to contribute to this history and hopefully other designers, critics, historians will add their comments.
Please could you help me regarding this matter.
Thank you
Gerard Dalmon — Preceding unsigned comment added by Neotu (talk • contribs) 23:52, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
- You founded the gallery, so yes, there is a conflict of interest. The conflict of interest arises because it's highly unlikely you could edit that article in an unbiased manner. Wikipedia strongly discourages you from editing articles where you have a conflict of interest.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 00:44, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
- Yes I am one of the founders of Neotu. Neotu closed in 2001. I am entering a chronological history of Neotu and the references that I gave can be check by any one.The bibliography is the major one. I am hopeful that other people will contribute to this article. Beside I am simultaneously developing the FRENCH version and I did receive a message like this. In fact I received compliments and a message from a designer who added his name in the DESIGNERS section. Please check by yourself the French version: http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neotu . Let me tell you that the English version is only a translation of the French one. Best regards Gerard Dalmon. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Neotu (talk • contribs) 23:50, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
- The English and French wikipedias (and every other language version) have different rules for articles. WP:COI still applies.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 23:52, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
Let me reiterate that I am not offering a point of view. I am listing a chronological history of Neotu. I only list the facts of the designers and the exhibitions. I am not making a story of Neotu, nor am I making any profit from this "article". So I do not consider this "article" a conflict of interest.
- You don't, but wikipedia does. (See WP:COI, to which I've referred you several times). Stop removing the tag.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 00:02, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
- I regret strongly the English rules of Wiki and I am going to remove the English version giving only a reference to the French version. It is a shame for people who do not understand French and I sincerely think that is not the good way to broadcast the contents of this major Encyclopedia to all the world. But before erasing the English version could please provide me with your supervisors email addresses. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Neotu (talk • contribs) 00:12, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
- You don't need to delete the article, just stop removing the WP:COI tag. As for a supervisor, like yourself and just about every other editor at wikipedia, I'm a volunteer. If you think I've acted improperly, feel free to take the matter to one of the pages recommended at Wikipedia:Dispute resolution (and please do me the courtesy of notifying me if you do.)--Fabrictramp | talk to me 00:21, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
- You should understand that this WARNING on the top of an article is not the best thing to introduce a content. I do not want to argue and bring this matter in DISPUTE RESOLUTION I have better things to do with my time. Regarding your "notifying you", I do not understand exactly what you mean by this, knowing that you do not appear under your real name but under the alias FABRICTREMPE. I think that is the big difference between you and me, I am not afraid to appear under my real name and I am not afraid to give my email address in my profile. Fabrictramp I have a suggestion: why you do not start being a contributor to Neotu Gallery article. I am ready to help you. That could be, if you are interested in Design, a fabulous opportunity to start learning something about contemporary furniture design and help me in my task or other articles to be created in this field. Best, Gerard —Preceding unsigned comment added by Neotu (talk • contribs) 23:23, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
- I was directed here by Neotu after I readded the COI warning to the article. It's clear to me that the tag should stay up there as the article WAS EDITED with a conflict of interest. The WP:COI guidelines state quite clearly that it is impossible to edit an article about an association that one is affiliated with in a non-biased manner. The fact that the article exists alone can be a conflict of interest, as it could go against Wikipedia's notability guidelines. The COI tag should stay up as long as substantial information that was placed by the user Neoto remains on the page and is not cited by verifiable third-party sources. Themfromspace (talk) 18:55, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
Just let me tell you something. You probably understand that I am French. In French "a conflict of interest" (un conflit d'intêret) has a very strong and bad meaning. This meaning is very insulting to me. It suggests that I am making facts which are not real, that I could hide others, that I am in a way lying or at least not objective and bringing contents to increase my prestige. It is not my goal. If it were, I am also a designer, I would have put my name with the other designers who used to work with Neotu. I am working on this article as an historian gathering information from ex-secretary of Neotu, ex-clients, invitations cards of the exhibitions, magazines, books (that I am gathering and some time buying) to build an article that I imagine no one could have started. Neotu ended in 2001 I thought that was time to trace its history. I would like other contributors able to help me or to bring more matter to this article or to check the information. Why not to help me. Why not if you know how to do to ask other contributors to participate to the article. I understand your policy. I am just asking you to understand my point of view. What I suggest in order to solve this "problem" is to add in the warning that I found and put on the top of the article something more explicit that states that "sofar this article is written by a contributor who had a major role in the creation of Neotu gallery and this article requires other contributions or verifications by other experts". If you agree with this suggestion feel free to write this WARNING as you want. Please avoid "conflict of interest". I am sure that your English will be 1000 times better than mine. Thank you. Best. Gerard PS: I hope that you notice that I did not try to hide myself. I use the name NEOTU as a user name and put my name + email address in the profile. I could have pretended to be someone completely different with no bound to Neotu. This was not my decision.
- Neotu, this is the English Wikipedia. This is not the French Wikipedia. By the definition of WP:COI, you do have a conflict of interest if you are at all affiliated with the Neotu gallery. Why the tag must stay has already been established. Themfromspace (talk) 23:08, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
- I see this is going nowhere. I've listed the Neotu article for review at the conflict of interest noticeboard for further discussion. Themfromspace (talk) 23:33, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Howdy, thought you might like to know about this, [4] which seems like an odd edit. Did AWB hiccup or something? Cheers, Paxse (talk) 16:02, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, I'm dense today. What seems odd about it? The article was uncategorized, so an uncat tag was added. It's just a tad longer than a stub, so AWB removed the stub tag.
Would you like me to add an expand tag to it instead?I see you reverted my edit. No biggie, but I still think it was valid.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 16:04, 20 November 2008 (UTC)- Thanks for lightening response. I'm flattered you and/or AWB think it is better than a stub. The Cambodia stub tag gave it the only cat it had 'Cambodia Stubs'. So, removing the stub tag removed it entirely from the Cambodia cat tree. I agree it needs additional cats, but AWB killed the only pussy in the shop - just to add an uncategorised tag. Funny no? Paxse (talk) 16:14, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

Just a friendly note on Grange West. I declined the speedy because there was definitely enough context to identify the subject.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 15:29, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, I wasn't sure if I should have removed it or not, sorry about that. A friend told me he had posted an article re: Ranlyn Hill or Ranlyn Tilley Hill. I have not seen the article and am not aware of the content. It has been deleted. May I please view/have access to the deleted language? Many thanks- Ranlyn Hill —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.177.64.60 (talk) 03:03, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
- The article was under Ranlyn Tilley Hill, but was deleted because it didn't meet the guidelines of Wikipedia:Your first article. Unfortunately, if it's a friend of yours who posted the article, there is also a problem with Wikipedia's conflict of interest guideline, and I don't restore or userfy such articles. Thank you. --JonBroxton (talk) 18:31, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
- De nada. Kind of a IAR deletion, but it made sense.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 18:33, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
- To clarify (in case you were wondering) - Bowen has just signed for Los Angeles Galaxy from its own junior ranks, but has yet to make his debut for this (or any) professional team, and therefore doesn't meet the soccer player notability guidelines. Someone created a circular link to the Galaxy page from Bowen's link, which is really pointless, so I just took it upon myself to ask for the delete. When Bowen makes his debut next season he'll get a proper article. --JonBroxton (talk) 18:41, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, I did a bit of basic research on him and came to that conclusion. The other choice was to remove the link to him on the Galaxy page to avoid circularity, but without more info about him on the Galaxy page the redirect there wasn't helpful to the reader. No real speedy category for that type of page, but deletion made the most sense.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 19:03, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

A wiki-salute
Hi there FABRICTRAMP, VASCO from PORTUGAL here,
I saw your October 28, 2008, welcome message on PEP10's talk page. I surely do appreciate that gesture but, let me (sadly) say this:
Once upon a time ;) there was a user called PARARUBBAS whose MODUS OPERANDI and "contributions" consisted in: gluing sentences and paragraphs into just one, removing brackets but, much much more serious, removing all external links and references, at the same time he did contribute to some articles, although in a shabby way...To prove myself, here is a list of his deeds before he was blocked (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Pararubbas) and, so you can see he was duly (over)warned, here is his talk page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Pararubbas).
What is the connection you ask me? My fellow user, this PARARUBBAS "contributed" almost exclusively on articles regarding PORTUGUESE FOOTBALLERS and CLUBS (in 99,999999999% of the cases) and, as you can see from his cont.history, he wrote NONE, WHATSOEVER, edit summaries, not a single word, which is absolutely the same user PEP10 does (here is a list of his contributions http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Pep10), as well as several anonymous IPs he has too. As PARARUBBAS was blocked, the same person registered under a new name (PEP10) and continued his deeds. This new account has been warned too, and this is also why i dropped you this message, because i witnessed your friendliness towards him and know it will not be repaid with an honest hard work.
Hope this "vocal rambling" was of no incovenience, keep up the good work,
Have (a) nice week(s), VASCO AMARAL - --217.129.67.28 (talk) 21:16, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
- I try to always send a friendly welcome to new users if their first edit isn't vandalism, along with links to help send them down the right path. If they choose not to take that path, they'll have only themselves to blame for what happens. :)--Fabrictramp | talk to me 22:46, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Strange redirect
I admit I know zilch about anime, but the redirects looked like gibberish to me and I couldn't find any references to them in the articles. If you think they're OK, please accept my apologies. Gonna brush up on my anime in the meantime. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 00:55, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
- I know less than zilch about anime, but I did a search in the Dio Brando article and Za Warudo is mentioned in the infobox. Seems to me like it would be a logical redirect.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 01:00, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
Guns 'n' Bombs deletion
Fabrictramp, I went from the producers wiki page to his groups page and found that the page had been deleted. I don't believe this removal was a appropriate, the group (Guns 'n' Bombs) are well known artists in the electronic music scene, and are among a small group of fast rising electro groups from the North America. I've just seen them play in Ottawa/Canada while on tour and these guys are currently located in L.A. The deletion reason seemed to be a result of the band not being note worthy... just thought I would suggest trying a google or youtube search and see the hundreds of results for the group... as well as the large number of their remixes available on some of the top music blogs on the net. I appreciate your time! Thanks : ) dseal84 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:dseal84 10:00, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, the reason for deletion was that the article didn't assert their notability well enough. Granted, there were two sources in the article, but they were more of the genre of blog posts than professional reviews.
- Take a read through WP:MUSIC and see if you think you can get the article to a point where it meets that requirement. If you want to take a stab at it, let me know and I'll be glad to userfy the article for you so you can work on it. Note that I won't be around much until Monday -- if you want it sooner than that, Category:Wikipedia administrators who will provide copies of deleted articles has a list of admins who will provide the copy for you. Speedy deletion of Maitland nova scotia
A tag has been placed on Maitland nova scotia, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Grika Ⓣ 20:27, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
Deletion request
Odd for a couple of reasons. There was a "Maitland nc" article by this user (pumkinjuice) that was CSDed but I don't see it in his contribs. Also, when I tried to CSD the new article "Maitland nova scotia," somehow this redirect page got tagged instead? Grika Ⓣ 20:44, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
- That might have been a timing issue -- you were doing the CSD right when I moved it to Maitland, Nova Scotia. Which is now deleted, except, of course, that there really is such a place (it's a village in East Hants, Nova Scotia), and it was an editing issue, not a deletion issue.
- Still can't find an AfD to justify a G4, though.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 21:16, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, I've now created a valid disamb page at Maitland, Nova Scotia, created one of the two articles listed there, and fixed as many incoming links as I could fix confidently. Please drop me a note before nominating if you think any of these need to be deleted. Thanks!--Fabrictramp | talk to me 21:58, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

Fellow CA wikipidian seeks help with deleted article
I was wondering if, since you are one of the admins, you would be so kind as to help me recover a deleted entry. The name of the entry is "Whittier Conservancy", and it was deleted either yesterday (12/6) or this morning (12/7). I don't mean to trouble, but I also kinda want to figure out why it was deleted--would citing something other than the organization's website be helpful?
Purplebackpack89 (talk) 22:53, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
- It was deleted on 12/6, and the reason cited was " (A7 (group): No indication that the article may meet guidelines for inclusion)". If you need more detail than that, you might contact Gwen Gale, the admin who deleted it.
- However, looking at the deleted article, I'd say that independent sources would have been a major help. It sounds from your question that you'd like to work on it some more, so I've taken the liberty of userfying it and moving it to User:Purplebackpack89/Whittier Conservancy. This will give you time (but not unlimited time) to work on it. When you think it's ready to be moved back, place a {{helpme}} tag (note the curly brackets) on your talk page and ask an experienced editor to take a look at it.
- WP:FIRST has some really good tips on how to write an article that will stand a good chance of sticking around. Also WP:RS will give you some tips on sources that show notability, and WP:N tells you what an article must have to show notabiltiy. All worthwhile reads. The Time Radio Hour:Fruit article
re: The WP:OTHERSTUFF argument -- at the time I noticed the fruit article had been made into a redirect, all the other episode articles were still intact, so it seemed that you had arbitrarily deleted that one and no others.
I am not so clear on the "discussion" aspect of Wikipedia, where should I go to discuss this issue with a wider audience? If all the Theme Time Radio Hour episode pages are similarly marked for deletion/lack of notability, where should they be discussed together? (i.e. instead of brining it up on the individual talk pages for each episode) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Leekil (talk • contribs) 04:07, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
- Just a minor clarification. Changing an article to a redirect is not considered a deletion in the world of Wikipedia, as any editor can come along and change it back. Only admins can undelete an article. No biggie, but it might confuse others if you use the wrong term.
- A couple of places a wider discussion might make sense is Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Radio and Wikipedia talk:Television episodes. Yes, I know these shows aren't television, but radio episodes are very similar to TV episodes, and there was recently a huge discussion about the notability of individual TV episodes. (You might want to hunt down those discussions and read them first.) The outcome of those discussions was that unless an individual episode can show real world notablity in reliable, indepedent sources, it should be merged into a "list of episodes" type article. HTH.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 15:48, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
Just a note of some slight sloppiness in this one. You made it redirect to Bonnie Tyler's discography, and thus the title link here - appearing as such IN the discography - links to its own page. Granted, I intend to use it for a Kenny Rogers album of the same name, but with the title page being a disambiguation page...other albums by that name surely exist.
Anyway, I've gone ahead and removed the circular link on the Bonnie Tyler page. I may be willing to look for more info in the future on the album and may readd it from the deleted page info if I find a source; a 36 song album is not usually a budget release, and I'm sure some info exists on the thing! =) (It surprises me that you'd rather leave gaps in an artist's discography, though...I'd assume a full discography with information for each album is the goal of making an artist's list reach feature status, not by deleting albums...just my opinion however.)
Just a question, though. If composer info, track times, etc. were to be added (see revision 242876844 for that page, before your edits; those are missing), would that be enough to warrant the page's return? What about listing originating albums for each track, if not a studio album? This is work I've done on a lot of compilation albums thus far; it provides some encyclopedic content referring to historical albums, IMO. Maybe I can take some time out of Rogers' collection to fix up that page under the new title, and redirect the page to allow a Rogers' album at some point?
CycloneGU (talk) 03:13, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for catching the link in the discography article. I usually fix those, and must have gotten interrupted on this one.
- As to the redirect, it's not a matter of I'd "rather leave gaps in an artist's discography", it's a matter of meeting the notability requirements in WP:MUSIC. In a nutshell, for an album to have its own article, it needs to show notability. The two most common ways are either multiple professional reviews (I usually use allmusic.com or metacritic.com to look for this), or for the album to have charted on a national chart (again, going to allmusic). I did a good faith search for those, and not finding them, changed to a redirect.
- So to answer your last question, composer info and track info isn't enough -- notability has to be found. If you can dig it up, please do so. Otherwise, WP:MUSIC and much AfD consensus says it should redirect to the discography article. HTH.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 14:37, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
- Hey, I got your reply. I guess we have a difference of opinion here; I think to make an artist's discography complete, everything that can be found should be included. I suppose that is the beauty of the Internet; everyone has different opinions on things like this.
- I know I've covered - and am still covering - a lot of Kenny Rogers albums and that some of them might not meet the criteria you note - I've so far covered some Bargain Bin albums of note, and even a couple of these have been reviewed (AllMusic is my main source). I know I don't take every single album, and try to be selective; I just like to be complete. I also haven't checked charting info yet, and I'll be running every album through once I've done so in addition to searching notability myself. I guess I have an "edit now, ask later" approach; maybe this is a weakness. =D

- We always knew you were notable, DGG. :) --Fabrictramp | talk to me 15:21, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
Parlus Deletion
Hi Fabrictramp,
I don't understand why the Parlus article was tagged for deletion in the first place. References 1 & 2 refer to Parlus; references 3 & 4 original domain name of schoolfriends.ie - perhaps editors were looking for Parlus in the latter references and did not read the Parlus article itself to be aware of the original website name. References 6-9 were included based on a request for citation. The MAIN notability for this article is reference 10, the favourable Wikinomics review of the website; being part of the Wiki group, it is most definitely notable.
Regards,

- This isn't an article I've had any involvement with. I only listed the discussion at the correct watchlist.
- You should put any arguments for keeping the article at the deletion discussion, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Parlus. If you have specific questions on why it was proposed for deletion, ask those there or ask the editor who nominated it for deletion. HTH.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 18:40, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks. The user who proposed the page for deletion does not exist. This seems "fishy" to me! Regards, Penichet (talk) 18:51, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
- They don't have a user page (many wikipedians don't), but they definitely have a talk page at User talk:Christ Thomas. The only "fishy" thing I see is that they've been on a spree of nominating articles for deletion with no other contributions. Annoying, for sure.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 19:12, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
- I have stated my case against deletion; there haven't been any other entries. What happens now? How long do I have to wait?! Penichet (talk) 21:23, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
- Normally the AfD would run until December 15.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 22:02, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
- i have to admit i missed that. i'll look again and re-form my opinion on it. Thanks for your message, best, tomasz. 16:00, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
- No biggie. Keep up the good work!--Fabrictramp | talk to me 16:00, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
Speedy delete for categories?
Hello. Quick question: Is there a speedy delete tag for categories? I ask because Category:National Socialist Black Metal was created today, while Category:National Socialist black metal already exists. Clearly, the first is redundant and unnecessary (in addition to being empty). Thanks for your time! ---RepublicanJacobiteThe'FortyFive' 19:02, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, check out Wikipedia:SPEEDY#Categories. I took the liberty of deleting the duplicate for you. HTH --Fabrictramp | talk to me 19:12, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you! And thanks for the link. I have saved it for future reference. It seemed a needless waste of time to take it to CFD. ---RepublicanJacobiteThe'FortyFive' 19:14, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
