Vandalism

The changes i made to the talk page of Abahlali baseMjondolo are not vandalism. Please do not accuse me of vandalism. I believe this is an important article and very relevant to these projects.72.87.212.95 (talk) 17:43, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

This is what vandalism is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Vandalism —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.87.212.95 (talk) 17:45, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
Why exactly are you are changing the importance of the page? Did you just feel that it should be something else? Did you discuss it with anyone else?
Any particular reason at all why you feel that this particular page should elevated to a 'medium' level rather than low? Would you mind telling us how you came to such a wonderful conclusion?
I suspect, no reason at all, you did not bother to discuss it with anybody, just you own personal opinion about it. FFMG (talk)

China's Military Expenditure

Hi Pal

  • I read your message after I write discussion
  • BTW lets use Average Digit between you and me, until we get agreement tentatively. It is not Fair you unilaterally use your degit

--Jack332 (talk) 17:57, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

Sorry, but fairness has nothing to do with it. This is an encyclopedia and we have to find the best/most accurate. Note that I am not trying to push 'my' values vs 'your' values. I am simply proposing that the 2009 values _seem_ more accurate. I have no idea why the US claims to know better in 2007 what the Chinese expenditure will be but the 2009 article quotes an official[1].
But this discussion makes more sense on the Talk page rather than either of our pages. FFMG (talk) 05:55, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

Russian defence budget

Hello this is the newest article where it say thats the russian defence budget will not decrease in 2009 http://www.cnguy.com/financial/news/2009/02/17/4361/defense-procurement-budget-of-russia.html it will still be 1,376 billion roubles and in the current exchange rates this amount to $41.500 billion. i hope this will get on the list of largest defence expenditures thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.62.143.3 (talk) 14:56, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

I think that the other reference was better, as you cannot use a blog, (see SPS), but I see that you also attempted to change the value of India at the same time[2]. Why? FFMG (talk) 15:37, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

I think we should stay consistent over the whole list - that is, state the official budget and (if at all) stick the hidden spending in a footnote. Ultimately, unraveling those hidden parts are what the SIPRI list is for. I have added a sentence about the US to the examples on "hidden" spending. Lars T. (talk) 19:54, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

Unicode character corruption

Which browser did you use to make this edit? I ask because it corrupted a Unicode character from the Miscellaneous Symbols block; if that sort of thing happens in an article, people would complain. Anomie 11:53, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

I am using FF 3.0.11, (on WinXP pro), I guess I don't have certain Unicode characters loaded. I am not sure where I can them from.
But I am pretty sure that even if I don't have the font it should not change the character. FFMG (talk) 11:57, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Angus Buchan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. -- Alan Liefting (talk) - 04:05, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

I am not denying that it is a very worthy cause, but we have 'day of the women', 'day of the indigenous tribes' and so on, but we do not include all of them in the 2009 article.
Currently, the 350 day is fairly unknown, maybe it should be, but sadly it is not. FFMG (talk) 04:48, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
