Hallo Proudbolsahye
sorry, there was an edit conflict with you, and I was going to change my small "c", but my add-on to replace words in Mozilla disappeared, and you have been faster. Nice article! I hope that you agree with my modifications: I wrote quite a few articles about churches in Istanbul, so I tried to organise your article as the others. BTW, I saw also that you wrote also something about confiscation of Armenian properties in Turkey. I know that in Yesilköy an Armenian foundation just got back a large parcel of land confiscated in the forties, but unfortunately I have no reference about that. Alex2006 (talk) 10:25, 4 January 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for your contributions! Im always looking for someone to go over and help me out with these articles. Its a massive task! Theres still so much to be added regarding the minorities of Turkey and so much more to be learned. As you saw on the confiscated armenian properties page, theres hundreds of properties in that have been confiscated in Istanbul ALONE!!! Just check out the interactive map I put up!! Now just try to imagine how much confiscated properties the rest of Turkey (Particularly in the east. See: Western Armenia) has where the Armenian population was a majority. Anyways, I would love to see your contributions more and more. Also, I havent heard of the Yesilkoy property. I wish you had some resources and we could add it to the page. Thank you once again.Proudbolsahye (talk) 10:34, 4 January 2013 (UTC)
- I promise that the next time that I go there I will ask for a reference. In Yesilköy, the Bakirköy municipality just opened a nice little museum which is almost entirely devoted to the local minorities living there (as you now, a large part of the population in the quarter is Armenian). Things are starting to change in Turkey too... :-) Alex2006 (talk) 10:45, 4 January 2013 (UTC)
- Yes we must remain optimistic :) Proudbolsahye (talk) 10:51, 4 January 2013 (UTC)

Genç
Selam. Geographical name changes in Turkey'de küçük sorunları buldum. Index Anatolicus'a göre, Hani'nin 1869 S-Di: Hani [ Zaza hêni "çeşme" ], yani Kürtçe değil Zazaca olarak gösterilmekte (Ayrıca bakınız: Sevan Nişanyan). Birde Genç: Genc ([ Erm kants "hazine, gömü" ]) ilçesinin merkezi 1936'na kadar şu an Solhan ilçesine bağlı Kaledeydi. Takabeg (talk) 02:05, 22 January 2013 (UTC)
- Tesekur ederim ilgilendiginiz icin. Note'larda "Also known as Hêni in the Zaza language" koymaya dusuniyorum. Sence? Ustelik Genc olayi biraz karisik olmus evet ama Darahini'yi zaten Genç olarak koydum. Wikipedia'da Darahini'de yaziliyor. Ben onu Note'larda bi sekilde anlatmam gerekecek. "The village of Genc used to be Kants meaning Treasure in Armenian. It was part of the Solhan province until 1936 until it was moved to Darahini where the village was changed to Genç." Tesekur ediyorum tekrardan. Proudbolsahye (talk) 04:22, 22 January 2013 (UTC)
Evet. Burada Gürcüce ile Lazca, Kürtçe ile Zazaca, Arapça ile Süriyanice aynı kategorilere sokulmuşlar. İstemeden asimilasyonculara (o dilleri kendi lehçesi olarak sayanlar, lehçesi statüsüne indirmeye çalışanlar yani) yardımcı olmuş :) Ama daha ayrıntılı bilgileri vermek zor. Şimdilik "Georgian and/or Laz", "Kurdish and/or Zazaki" şeklinde yazılabilir. Daha ayrıntılı bilgileri veren kaynakları bulduğumuzda düzeletelim. Ne dersin ? Birde o maddedeki hayati (bence hayati) Osmanlıca adlarının yer almamasıdır. Osmanlı döneminde (İT dönemi haricinde) kökenlerine bakılmaksızın Osmanlıca adı olarak kabul edilmekteydi. İT'nin girişimlerine rağmen Cumhuriyeti'nin ilk yıllarında Osmanlı dönemindeki adlarının büyük bir çoğunluğu değiştilmemiştir. Bunu 1928 yılında yayınlanmış Köylerimiz ile de kanıtlayabiliriz. Takabeg (talk) 04:57, 22 January 2013 (UTC)
- Evet duzeltdim. What do you think?

Armenian women
Merhaba. I'd like to thank you for creating many articles on ethnic minorities in Turkey, especially the Armenians. It is much appreciated, as your articles are filling-out certain gap here on EN Wiki. I'd like to ask you however about one thing, out of my curiosity. I noticed that vast majority of articles about Ottoman/Turkish Armenians is about men. How about the notbale Armenian women? My amateurish guess would be that in the 19th/early 20th century the role of Armenian women was not to be much publicly active, as it was anyways with majority of nations back then. Is this the reason, or am I just delusional? :) Thanks. - Darwinek (talk) 10:12, 27 January 2013 (UTC)

Selam. Naber ? - Bushranger is right, even when there's a pattern of behaviour. By the way, your contributions in Armenia/Turkey article space are very impressive. But always good to get around and help out on other articles. I just had a look through AfD for example and found various badly-thought through AfDs which evidently don't subscribe to WP:WORLDVIEW (which is a guideline essay, not a policy unfortunately). Happy editing. In ictu oculi (talk) 02:43, 3 February 2013 (UTC)

- In fact I would propose Bols be given a civility award for grace under fire given the longterm attacks he has withstood from the other editor on a personal level through relentless personal attacks via the difficult to respond to edit-summary fields and also the filing of SPI reports. In addition to the personal attacks, Bols' articles have been subjected to multiple incompetent CSDs and AfDs and have been edited, sometimes severely, to erase mention of the Armenian Genocide from an editor already under ARBAA2 admin warnings. And see my comments at the Miran Pastourma AfD where I connect the dots that the AfD was based on a trumped-up excuse but the real reason was the mention of the Armenian Genocide in the Miran Pastourma article. Not a pretty picture, but Bols has withstood the onslaught with grace and good humour. Δρ.Κ. λόγοςπράξις 03:33, 3 February 2013 (UTC)

I am glad you don't let these difficulties discourage you. Your work in creating these great articles is important and it is also very much appreciated. Take care. The Original Barnstar | ||
For excellent work in a number of articles on Armenians in Turkey and Greece. It is refreshing to see something outside the ordinary political/military/pop culture/etc article around here, highlighting the more "ordinary" people. Keep it up! I'm not really a fan of soutzouki and pastourma, but damn, your articles make me want to go to these shops and try them out! Constantine ✍ 19:42, 14 February 2013 (UTC) |

Greetings Proudbolsahye. I wouldn't worry about the notice below. When the time comes that the image is needed, you can upload it then. I was looking to see if there was a biography for Krikor Apikoğlu, as that would be an article that likely could justify the inclusion of that image under fair use. I see that there is no biography at this time. Perhaps that might be one from your future. The man seems surly to have lived a life whose story is worth remembering, and telling.
I actually came here at first to leave a parting comment about the Apikoğlu Brothers article. I didn't mention this in the review because it occurred to me after I had closed my portion, and it was simply easier to just fix the problem. I did have File:Apikoglu logo.jpg deleted from commons because the logo is sufficiently original enough to qualify for copyright protection. It is a stretch to assert it as pd-ineligible, claiming simplistic graphics and text. If not for the cow and lamb in the lower right corner, it would qualify under that licenses. Please be diligent when it is your prerogative to decide if content is free or not. Mistakes that are copyright violations, are not long suffered on this site. It is the single quickest way to earn the ultimate chastisement.
In any regard, the file is now located at File:Apikoglu logo2.jpg with appropriate claims of fair use, as it should have been. I would have transferred the file from commons, retaining the attribution to you for uploading it, but that was likely to consume time that would have required putting the nomination on hold. Simply to expedite the process, so as not to require putting the nomination on hold, I instead uploaded a version on Wikipedia under a fair use rationale, orphaned the file at commons, and qualified it under CSD criteria. I did want to offer you this explanation for my somewhat out of process methodology, and to ask that no hard feelings be assumed. If you ever need assistance on Wikipedia matters, feel free to inquire of me, any time. Cheers.—My76Strat • talk • email 09:59, 21 February 2013 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (File:Apikoglu.jpg)
Thanks for uploading File:Apikoglu.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:30, 21 February 2013 (UTC)

Hi Proudbolsahye, thank for your articles about nations in Turkey. Btw, no need create such maps without sources. Zülfü Selcan is not RS and he has named this region as Zazaistan.(if the user wants, he can create himself) Then we can create (fake) new names for each place. This is same politics as Geographical name changes in Turkey. We dont need new names for cities or regions, we want their original names.
