Hi Star...I have a question: in the article about the Taboada Bridge that I created, I seem unable to activate or display the short description of the article...do you mind taking a look and letting me know why that is so?
Thank you so much!

Control copyright icon Hello Escuadro! Your additions to Vía de la Plata have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 03:33, 14 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

When you can only find information in crap sources, don't add it

[edit]

Hey, Escuadro. You added the address of the house where people were murdered in this edit, providing a source that looks pretty shaky to me. If you have to go to bad sources to find information, that's a good indication you shouldn't be adding that information. There really is no reason to add this information to the article. It doesn't do anything to help the reader understand the subject. Valereee (talk) 03:13, 1 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at 2022 University of Idaho killings, you may be blocked from editing. Adding BLP privacy issues repeatedly after being warned Special:Diff/1130972779 Valereee (talk) 19:18, 2 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You indicated previously that the source for the address was not to your liking so I replaced it with a better source (Newsweek). I do believe that enriching an article with truthful and relevant information is what Wikipedia is all about; adding the address where a major event occurred hardly can be construed as "vandalizing" Escuadro (talk) 21:45, 2 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Alirio Rodríguez moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Alirio Rodríguez,is not suitable as written to remain published. It appears there is a WP:UPE or WP:COI conflict. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, and have addressed the UPE/COI issue, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. As per WP policy, please do not move into mainspace yourself. Onel5969 TT me 10:42, 13 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I have resubmitted the article adding more references. Basically all the references confirmed everything in my article. I am unsure about the conflict that you mention, and I wonder if you could clarify it for me? I am not related in any way to this artist, or have collected any money for this article, I just do it because I love Wikipedia and I noticed that there was nothing on this artist, which I do admire. Please let me know, I always act in good faith. By the way, the artist picture is in Creative Commons public domain, and the painting picture is my own. If anything needs to be changed I am happy to do it...I am just learning. Thank you! Escuadro (talk) 14:33, 13 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have a question...I have a couple of books about this painter (I did mention the books as reference in the article and can certainly provide pictures of the books if needed), I do pull a lot of information from these books, how can you verify this information if you don't have the books?
Remember, this is a Venezuelan artists, there are not that many famous websites in Venezuela reporting about art, additionally, the websites are in Spanish, which is my native language.
Can you let me know how to proceed? Escuadro (talk) 15:50, 14 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
