your edit to my pageYou edited and removed some content off my userpage. I understand your reasoning to do so, but it states (and I quote): "The Wikipedia community generally frowns upon simulating the MediaWiki interface, and it should be avoided except when necessary for testing purposes." This means that it's not the best format, but it is allowed. Please consult with someone, administrator or not, before changing someones userpage or anything in it. It is considered bad etiquette to do that to other people. I appreciate it. I came onto the site to look for some informaton, and received your message. To the best of my knowledge, no one has had access to this PC, and I have not made any changes to any of your articles. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.104.205.175 (talk) 23:33, 15 March 2008 (UTC) I've just noticed the date of your message, I have obviously been issued with the IP of this person that made the change. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.104.205.175 (talk) 23:41, 15 March 2008 (UTC) You deleted this in November, following an uncontested prod. Could you dump the original in my userspace? Its a very encyclopaedic concept, with an entire subculture of academic work on the nabobs of the East India Company. Pano Logic - I need your help again!Eliz81: Thank you again for providing me with the original Pano Logic listing. I made significant factual changes and updates to accurately reflect the company profiled at www.panologic.com. This is a real company with real products that are shipping today to over a hundred customers. I used the existing company profile templates of existing companies listed in Wikipedia (I used the VMware, Inc. entry as a template). You can argue whether I went a bit over the top or not from a marketing perspective but I purposely left the entry a bit bare bones to allow other users to edit the information and add to the entry. However, after less than a day, Mr.Z-man took it upon himself to arbitrarily call the entry blatant advertising and remove the entry all together. No edits, no misgivings, just delete. I'd welcome your assistance and guidance on how to deal with this hypocritical and somewhat blatant disregard for the Wikipedia goal of providing user accessible / editable facts and factual information. Maybe the pictures were too much, maybe there was some marketing speak in the entry. We don't know as now I no longer have access to the entry. Everything in the entry was backed up by third party references and third party web sites and third party writers. There are even more references for me to provide but now I can't. I know this isn't your responsibility but I don't know where else to turn. Please help me! Thank you in advance for your guidance. BCC Research Updates+EditingFixed many of the issues that were raised with the article. Also put a large COI banner up top, as well as editing the draft on the sub page. I worked with Martijn another admin to understand the kind of source needed to establish Notablity and am working on locating one. Sorry for being a little hot earlier...just being a confused noob. ThanksStuartfost (talk) 00:50, 27 March 2008 (UTC)Stuartfost (talk) 18:32, 26 March 2008 (UTC) +Fixed a great many of the issues that you had with the article yesterday, and added references. I think I should be good on that front, any other advice/criticisim would be appreciated. Stuartfost (talk) 17:44, 27 March 2008 (UTC) Article deleted? Not sure why you deleted my article on Brian Darwas. His name is link to the punk rock band "Roger Miret and The Disasters" which has a page here on Wikipedia. I also cited several web sites which credit him as a known hot rod builder and documentray film maker. Please google his name. - Mark —Preceding unsigned comment added by Clean Linen (talk • contribs) 05:24, 28 March 2008 (UTC) Deleted article - Digital curationHi E, While editing and viewing a number of articles recently I noticed a number of links go red all of a sudden and I see from the deletion log that you have deleted Digital curation on 2008-03-27 for copyvio. I had not read Digital curation article so I have no comment. However, it has left a few articles missing wikilinks now. Can you put a copy of the Digital curation content on my talk page so that I can do up a legitimate version in line with original article when I get time ? Even, if I only non trivially stub it. Also, from what I can see if Digital curation was suspect then there might also be copyvio problems with a possibly related page Sheer curation ? If it also needs deleting then let me know so that I can get a copy first and legitimise it. Without knowing what was in Digital curation at this time, I suspect based on Sheer curation that perhaps Digital curation and Sheer curation should be merged anyway. I have put back a new article - only a stub for now - hopefully it is okay ? Peet Ern (talk) 00:46, 1 April 2008 (UTC) |
