No worries, it's alright now. For images like screenshots you just have to state the obvious, namely that "it is copyrighted (since it is a derivative work)" and "it is only used to illustrate the article for non-commercial means". That's pretty much it. Needless to say, some images require a much stronger claim; for example if there is doubt whether a free alternative could be created. And yes, non-free images are in a bit of a mess, so that explains why most likely you couldn't find other screenshots with rationales! -- Chris B • talk16:11, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, you would be surprised at the number of people who don't know about image copyright "as it should be". :) -- Chris B • talk16:44, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
As you wish
Report on your AIV usage back to Jan 2007 as asked for.
And a very detailed not blocked percentage at that. :) Thanks so much for running the tool Until, and thanks Ariel for the good job. This tool sounds like fun. Wish I knew some basic programming! ~Eliz81(C)07:08, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
Shouldn't it be entitled *OUR*SQL on wikipedia? :P I remember back in the day thinking that this friend of mine who made colored lines bounce around the screen in BASIC was the coolest guy ever. I shouldn't be afraid of code in general... heck Ariel designed my whole userspace for me, so I shy away on all levels! ~Eliz81(C)07:15, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
Pssssst
I did a little tweak to your userpage that makes the external links no longer have the funky arrow thing after them, it just makes pages look cleaner. If you hate it, feel free to revert it, but I think it makes it nicer with the clean layout of the userpage. ~*Hugs*~ Ariel♥Goldat 09:23, October 5, 2007
I noticed it in yours! Thanks for fixing it in mine. Also your small font time is way cute, can I fix that in my sig preferences somewheres? ~Eliz81(C)09:46, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
Eh, unfortunately, not really. It messes with SineBot (as I just saw) and it isn't compatable with Twinkle either, but I was testing it out just to see. Wish we could set those kind of preferences though. Maybe some day, lol. Ariel♥Gold09:48, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
Random Thought
Eliz81 said: Congratulations on having a prize winning salsa!! :) Any recipes that you can share? I make a tomato-free one myself with mango, red peppers, corn, and beans...mmmm... and as another thought, thank you so much for taking the time to go through the references carefully and thoroughly and for giving detailed rationale. Although I (clearly!) disagree with you about what constitutes local notability, I really appreciate AfD contributors who are doing more than firing off a Google search and really making the effort to dig up sources and evaluate the arguments. Your thoughtfulness has not gone unnoticed! All the best, ~Eliz81(C)09:32, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
Eliz, Thank you for the note and the kind words :-) I've had a rough day and if I seem snippy or abrupt, please forgive me. While I don't think the winery is locally notable, I do believe that I am still getting used to the 'locally notable' changes to policy. Oh, I have a reciepe for you actually:
Corn-n-Tomato Salsa
2 large tomatoes chopped into 1/8 inch squares (I don't seeded mine but you can if you like)
1 1/3 cup chopped red onion (Fresh is best!)
2 cups of fresh corn kernels (you can use frozen-thawed but I think fresh is the best)
1 cup fresh cilantro - chopped
a few fresh cilantro sprigs
4 tablespoons of olive oil
1 teaspoon of ground cumin
2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice (I squeeze a fresh lemon for this)
1-2 jalapeño chilis - minced (I seed mine as I don't like very spicy salsa but you can leave in the seeds if you want the extra kick)
2 peeled and pitted avocados - chop them up really nice.
Take all these ingredients and mix them together in a large bowl. Cover it and chill for at least 30 minutes before you serve it.
Ohhh Salsa! I make an evil, hot (so hot you sweat and your eyes water) salsa that is to die for! I don't have a recipe though, lol. Just lots of tomato (diced finely) and some onion (I'm not a fan, so sparingly), with lots of Serrano peppers, a few jalapenos, Habanero chilis, garlic (minced), lime juice, and loads and loads of cilantro (minced). Hoooo boy is it good. I haven't made it in about 10 years, but warning: Wear gloves if you make it because the chiles and peppers will not only burn your fingers, but they'll make them smell for weeks, lol. Ariel♥Gold09:57, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
Ooo thanks for sharing Ariel! Glad I got you into a good food conversation :P The way to a man's Eliz's heart is through his her stomach! ~Eliz81(C)10:03, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
Brian, I'm so touched! Thanks so much for sharing this with me. I'll definitely make it in the next few days. I'm with you on the jalapeño seeds... too much heat can detract from the lovely flavors. Sometimes I add a few, but a little goes a long way. I'm so sorry to hear you've had a rough day comforts but please rest assured you've sounded neither snippy or abrupt at all. Kudos for the mind/typing control, it ain't always easy... thank goodness the things we yell at the screen don't end up on the site! :P I notice you linked AWB on your userpage, and I must say fixing typos is strangely calming. Order will prevail. Anyway I hope your day/night lightens up and if there's anything I can do to help, please let me know. *hugs* ~Eliz81(C)10:03, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
I just saw you changed your mind at the AfD. My first thought was a bit guilty!! I just wanted to assure you, inquiring after you and your prize winning salsa recipes was not an attempt to sway you or anything. That would be very silly on my part, but since you originally said "agree to disagree", I want to make sure I didn't accidentally influence you or something. I understand and accept your rationale for deletion, local companies are notoriously tricksy. Just making sure!! ~Eliz81(C)10:28, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
Bschott said: Eliz, oh no you don't need to feel guilty at all. I reviewed the information again, reviewed the current policies and found your point valid. You only influenced me by making me stop and review the policies again. As long as the an article meets all guidelines I have no problem with it. Article subjects must be verifiable (which it is), must be notable (which after review of the policies I believe it is), must not fall into any catagory listed in Wiki is not (and it doesn't). You changed my mind via evidence and a well thought out AFD reponse --Brian(view my history)/(How am I doing?)10:49, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
AFD Barnstar
Solid research
I, Brian Schott, hereby award you this barnstar for very solid research and convincing arguements on the Byington VineyardAFD. - 5 October 2007
Brian, thank you so much! I've got access to all these full text newspaper archives at school, so I really try to make use of them to get those reliable sources out there. And your last message put my mind at ease. Here's to well thought out AfDs! ~Eliz81(C)11:06, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
My valiant heroes, both! You both reverted vandalism from the same dynamic IP, two different times. I step away from my computer for like 5 minutes and see what happens! Glad you guys have my back :) ~Eliz81(C)18:26, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
The link you put is a dead link. See ANI Mrs.EasterBunny 20:18, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
This ANI emergency is giving me a headache. I was going to edit but now I'm exhausted. I think it could have been handled better. What we probably have here is a hoax and an editor that should be blocked. What we could have is an emergency where an admin essentially threw away the information needed to help. Mrs.EasterBunny20:37, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
Thank you, can I have details as to what happened in the last hour, I was busy. Were you the one who called? What second threat? Thank you. This has been a horrible mess. Love always, Neranei(talk)22:24, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
(ec) THANK YOU for all the effort you've put into seeing this resolved. You did exactly what needed to be done, and don't let anyone convince you otherwise. I was going to say that someone ought to give you a medal, then I came to my senses and realized that this is a wiki, we do it all the time, and I can do it myself. :-) (Yes, I've been nearly as stressed out about the whole thing as you've been, in part because I grew up near Cincinnati, and still have local contacts there.) —CComMack (t–c) 22:39, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
Thank you CComMack and Neranei, that is so kind of both of you. The police departments where the IP and phone number are located are coordinating, they're going to get to the bottom of this for sure. ~Eliz81(C)23:00, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for all your efforts on this one. As someone who spent hours getting Chicago PD a report on an earlier incident, I know what you've been through... Good job. Georgewilliamherbert22:48, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
Another one
The Special Barnstar
Elizabeth, you did something amazing today, and I know it's tough. You did the right thing, and I hope everything turns out right. Always, Neranei(talk)02:21, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for supporting my RfA, which passed 63 to 1. I especially appreciate that you wrote such nice things about me. I hope that I'm doing a good job so far. Bearian20:41, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for supporting my RfA, which unfortunately didn't succeed. You raised a caution about being careful in areas that I was new to. I would have had this RfA been successful, and will if my next RfA is successful. Thanks for the caution, though! :) The majority of the opposes stated that I needed more experience in the main namespace and Wikipedia namespace, so that is what I will do. I will go for another RfA in two month's time and I hope you will be able to support me then as well. If you have any other comments for me or wish to be notified when I go for another RfA, please leave them on my talk page. If you wish to nominate me for my next RfA, please wait until it has been two months. Thanks again for participating in my RfA! -- Cobi(t|c|b|cn)01:35, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for reverting my userpage
It seems I've been vandalized quite a bit more than i thought, thanks for putting a stop to it, Cheers
You saved my poor defenseless userpage from marauding vandals, so as a way of saying thank you, I give you this here barnstar, Thanks Tennekis01:32, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
Restored revision
Eliz81
I see that the revisions from Ewing High School were removed at your request. However, I have put them back in and I'd like to explain why. The Dr. Logan, the principal, is investigating the incident, and it is important for his staff to have access to the revision so that he resolve the issue properly. I understand that the material is objectionable. However, as it is no longer in the main text of the article, I believe the needs of the school's administration outweigh any possible offense it may cause, especially since someone would need to know to look in edit history to find it. Thanks for your understanding on this issue. Ronnotel14:23, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
Presidents of the US
Hi - I don't mind the revision at all - I just felt that the century markings interrupted the flow of the page, as well as being relatively unnecessary information in relation to the article. Thanks for letting me know. — mrmaroon25 (talk • contribs) 03:46, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for applying for NPWatcher!
You've been approved to use it. Before you run the program, please check the changelog on the application page to see if there is a newer release (or just add the main page (here) to your watchlist). Report any bugs or feature suggestion here. If you need help, feel free to contact me or join NPWatcher.
Given this user had only made one edit (creating the attack page), they need to be warned first before being blocked (this is my general perception), as to note bite. If they recreate the attack page after being told not to, then we slap them. If you disagree with my course of action here, please leave me a note and I'll be happy to discuss it. It's all good now!! No more headache :) I'm pretty surprised at the Foundation, when they've added banners in the past they've been pretty good about it. Wikipedians united for once, hehe thanks for the concern, *hugs* ~Eliz81(C)00:54, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
Non-Mendelian Inheritance
Hi, I'm a new Wikipedia user and have spent some time expanding the non-Mendelian inheritance article. I noticed that you have made some edits on related articles, and was hoping you could lend some constructive criticism to my first attempt at an article. Bretsam05:18, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
Volapük Wikipedia
Hi Eliz81! I've recently seen your new userpage at vo.wikipedia. What are your plans for the Volapük Wikipedia? Did you know, by the way, that there is a Proposal for Closing the Volapük Wikipedia? Maybe you could help us keep it by casting a vote there against this proposal -- if you think this is a good idea?... --Smeira 23:26, 23 tobul 2007 (UTC)
