WPG assessments
[edit]Just wanted to let you know, its great work you are doing there! I hope, you are really enjoying it, I wouldn't! Anyway, I've started to tag all German football clubs with the WPG template, where missing and I'm hoping to get through with it in the next couple of days, lots missing. Just in case you were wondering why so many articles suddenly appear in the Category:Unassessed Germany articles. Have fun assessing, but don't work to hard! EA210269 (talk) 13:27, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
- Blooming heck! Quite a few indeed. As for not enjoying it: I reckon tagging articles with a template is just as thrilling. :-) Oh, and I don't work "too" hard. At the moment I am suffering from a lack of inspiration to write new articles or improve existing ones (even though I hav a list from here to eternity) so I thought i could use the time to do some assessment. It has the nice side-effect of coming across persons or topics I didn't know even existed. Cheers, --Ekki01 (talk) 17:01, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
- Good work, last night (your day), all doen, you must have the Heinzelmaenchen at your service! Regarding the tagging with a template, it gives me the chance to do a "stocktake" and see whats there regarding German football club articles and wheather any new ones have been created lately. EA210269 (talk) 22:42, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
- I'm done, another 160 pages in the category now. EA210269 (talk) 00:26, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

- No worries! EA210269 (talk) 23:05, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
That should be zero now and I had an editconflict with you over HADAG Seetouristik und Fährdienst - well done! Agathoclea (talk) 21:37, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
- Nae borra (as we say in Glasgow). I am trying to keep it at zero. My apologies for the edit conflict. Just a coincidence as I've been busy all evening working on something else (not publishable as yet) and just happened to check the "unassessd" page before logging off. Cheers, --Ekki01 (talk) 21:43, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
- It was reassuring to see someone else doing exactly the same rating I would have done ... Agathoclea (talk) 21:53, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
- P.S. You might want ot watchlist User:AlexNewArtBot/GermanySearchResult for new articles. Agathoclea (talk) 21:57, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

WP Germany
[edit]Hi, are you sure car model pages belongs to WP Germany? "Wikipedia’s coverage of the German republic, people, monuments and culture" -->Typ932 T·C 22:41, 3 March 2019 (UTC)
- If they are made in Germany or by a German company, why not? Actually, I didn't add the WPGermany templates to the respective talk pages. I only completed the assessment. Also, since you are referring to culture: aren't cars part of culture and/or technological achievements? Ekki01 (talk) 23:22, 3 March 2019 (UTC)
- Also: culture. When songs and books are, why not car models? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:33, 4 March 2019 (UTC)
- My point exactly. Ekki01 (talk) 20:35, 4 March 2019 (UTC)
- Also: culture. When songs and books are, why not car models? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:33, 4 March 2019 (UTC)
- I dont know just asked, but it seem slighly silly to add car models, maybe the manufacturer is enough, I dont know if any other car brand has its models tagged to country WP -->Typ932 T·C 14:40, 8 March 2019 (UTC)
- Well if it's only slightly silly, then it's almost okay, isn't it? I also think that one shouldn't take ""Wikipedia’s coverage of the German republic, people, monuments and culture" too literally. I, and in my experience other members of the project too, have always interpreted it as more or less anything related to Germany. About other country projects: I, quite frankly, don't care that much. Ekki01 (talk) 17:47, 8 March 2019 (UTC)

Thank you for quality articles around German topics such as Achstetten Castle, Bihlafingen, Celle Air Base and Oberholzheim, for improving articles such as Laupheim and Brazilian Army Aviation Command, for project assessments and creating article talk pages, for service from 2006, - you are an awesome Wikipedian!

Contact to find some info
[edit]Hi Ekkio,
I saw that you're quite familar with the squadrons based on the army base. I am in search or a person who was at the base in 1957. Maybe you can help me out (or not)?. I will send you my specific questions by mail. I sincerely hope you can help me. Thank you
Marco
@please if this is not according the wiki-rules I will delete this message. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MarcoB1982 (talk • contribs) 12:41, 7 May 2020 (UTC)
Dear Marco, as stated above, I will respond here to questions/remarks placed on this page. I am afraid I will not use the email address provided.
I don't quite understand which particular army base you are referring to. Also, I do not have any documents, or first hand knowledge, about individuals based on army or air bases except through family history, and that knowledge is not allowed to be used on Wikipedia as it is not verifiable. Furthermore it doesn't stretch back to 1957. Basically, all my knowledge is from books and other freely available sources.
I hate to disappoint you, but I fear that I cannot help you any further with your quest. Have you tried social media or other sources on the internet?
Good luck anyway. Cheers, Ekki01 (talk) 19:51, 7 May 2020 (UTC)
Dear Ekki, thank you for your quick reply. I am actually looking for my grandfather who most likely has served at the army air base in Celle during 1957. It's very diffcult to obtain information as we only have his name. I saw that you had some info about the air base and that's why I am now writing on your talk page. However I do understand that you don't have any info but it was worth the try. I tried indeed the internet and some other sources. Take care and again thanks for the quick reply. Cheers, Marco — Preceding unsigned comment added by MarcoB1982 (talk • contribs) 11:49, 8 May 2020 (UTC)
Dear Marco, I did indeed write a lot about Celle Air Base. However, I translated most of it from the German Wikipedia in conjunction with the main author there. I suggest you contact this author as I believe he used to work on the air base. He may be able to help you with documentation or give advise as to where to get it. The user is de:Benutzer_Diskussion:Turavien. Whether he is still active, I really don't know as I am not editing on the German Wikipedia any longer. But it's worth a shot anyway.
Alternatively, have you tried the MOD and their archives?
I sincerely wish you the best of luck. Cheers, Ekki01 (talk) 18:25, 8 May 2020 (UTC)
Thanks Ekki Yes, tried the MOD but no response yet. Don't want to bet on a single horse.(That's a Dutch phrase, but I saw you're living there like myself so you get it) Much appreciate your help!

Invitation to participate in a research
[edit]Hello,
The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.
You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.
The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .
Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.
Kind Regards,
BGerdemann (WMF) (talk) 19:28, 23 October 2024 (UTC)

Take the survey here.
Kind Regards,

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message
[edit]Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}}
to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:17, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
