No More Heroes (record label) moved to draftspace

[edit]

Unfortunately, an article you recently created No More Heroes (record label), is not ready as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage with citations from reliable and independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. I've moved your article to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's WP:GNG guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.M.Ashraf333 (talk) 02:15, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This is a friendly reminder to keep this community civil and to refrain from making retaliatory deletion requests. The sources are clearly not trivial as they are the primary topic mentioned in both the content of the articles and the title of the articles. These are the 2 sources (out of 4 total) that are being questioned.

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with No More Heroes (record label). Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. Thank you for the reminder! As the previous admins mentioned, I see that this will remain open to additional opinions for a few more days. Officialangrydub (talk) 18:38, 29 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon An article you recently created, Best Kept Secret (management company), is not suitable as written to remain published. An article needs more information and citations from reliable, independent sources to remain in the mainspace. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline, has suitable content and thus is ready for mainspace, click the Submit the draft for review! button atop the article. Many sources appear to be only trivially mentioning the company itself (WP:SIGCOV), or unreliable/overly promotional (WP:V). Silikonz💬 05:01, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Best Kept Secret (management company), requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Notice for my fellow Wikipedians

[edit]

It is beyond concerning to see so many instances of music-related articles from so many different users being wrongfully removed from Wikipedia due to biased or incorrect assessments of their content. The removal of such articles undermines the comprehensiveness and accuracy of the platform as a source of information, and runs contrary to Wikipedia's goal of providing a neutral and impartial representation of all subjects.

Before resorting to aggressive tactics like drafting or deleting an article, it is crucial to thoroughly research and evaluate the sources and their impact on the industry they are reporting on. This is especially important in the field of music and more specifically hip hop, as many Wikipedians may not be familiar with major news sources such as HipHopDX, AllHiphop, Lyrical Lemonade, XXL, and even Billboard. However, just because these sources may not be known to you, it does not make them any less notable or relevant in the industry they cover. It is important to consider the credibility and reliability of all sources, regardless of their area of recognition, to ensure that the information presented on Wikipedia is accurate and unbiased. Ways to improve $teven Cannon

[edit]

Hello, Officialangrydub,

Thank you for creating $teven Cannon.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

This article relies too heavily on sources that might not be sufficiently reliable to satisfy WP:BLPSOURCES and maintain notability for WP:SINGER criteria. While Lyrical Lemonade might be an engaging and entertaining platform for those interested in recent developments in R&B, hip-hop and other contemporary music genres, it does not not appear to be a vetted journalistic source; articles cited are marked as "posts" in their description and there is no editorial oversight mentioned anywhere on the website. In fact, it doesn't even have a description or mission statement as far as verifiability of its claims goes. This means it's an opinion source and a a blog per WP:NEWSBLOG and should be used sparingly, if at all, to support article content on Wikipedia. This article might be proposed for deletion if it doesn't meet verifiability criteria. Since you're relatively new here, I also recommend becoming more familiar with WP:ASSESS to know the specific criteria for page assessment as you move forward. Thanks and feel free to reach out with questions.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Ppt91}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Notice

The article $teven Cannon has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Doesn't seem to meet WP:SINGER or WP:GNG. Not finding independent coverage or notability for this artist outside of their association with their childhood friend, Lil Xan, which is mostly passing mentions. Sources provided are not considered WP:RS. 5 are to a blog named Lyrical Lemonade, 1 to an interview on Genius, a passing mention on hiphopdx, and an interview posted on an apparel company's website. The performer's YouTube page also only has 1 video with over 500k views.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Username

[edit]

While not an apparent violation of username policy, your user name raises a few questions. Normally, when someone sees "official" as part of a username, they will tend to think that some verification process has been done - no such thing exists on Wikipedia, so - aside from being a parody - it's just so much nonsense to claim to be "official". I tried to see if "Angry Dub" was the name of an artist or group, but there were no obvious hits of that sort; instead, it seems to be a label occasionally given to dubs or remixes by diverse artists. So, as I said, I don't find that your username is in actual violation of policy, but not everything that is allowed is a good idea. You may wish to consider changing your username. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 03:59, 17 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for that I've been trying to figure out how to change that since I decided to use this corny username. I used to have dreams to be a music producer like 16 years ago in middle school and the name stuck for my online persona within gaming communities but I do entirely agree it doesn't fit for this community.
On another note, thank you for answering my question about lists, I'm learning every day to be a more useful member of this community and appreciate everyone who contributes to the process. Officialangrydub (talk) 04:11, 17 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
