Speedy deletion of Gillian Jack

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Gillian Jack requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you.  Ravenswing  15:28, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you seem to know a great deal about this character, which is great for the project. There is a conversation going on about David Wicks on Pat's talk page Talk:Pat Evans#David Wicks - backstory, and if you have anything to add to the conversation, I would be interested to hear it.GunGagdinMoan 17:24, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hiya, thanks for your response about Pat. I think your explanation makes sense. It would be nice if we can dig up a source saying that she and Pete married in 1961 and not 1963, just so we cant be accused of original research. So if you know of any, please let me know.
Re Pat and Joe. Pat was certainly a lot more accepting of Joe as a grandson than she was of Bianca initially - she at first refused to believe Bianca was David's. They did share scenes, but nothing stands out in my memory, generally she was usually trying to persuade David to be a better father to him, and i'm sure that Joe lived with her when he first came to Walford, as did Lorraine. I think, and I may be remembering it wrong, that Joe fell out with Pat around the time David left, because following a row with his mum he moved in with Carol Jackson for a while and not with Pat. I'm wondering if he was blaming everyone close to him for David leaving, but like I say, I may be remembering this wrongly. Do you know of the website walford.net? That has episode descriptions for Joe's entire run. So, if you can be bothered to review them all, there will be descriptions of their scenes together.--GunGagdinMoan 13:23, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not too sure what you mean by downloading pictures. Do you mean capturing them, like screenshots? If so, then you just pause where you'd like to capture and you can press the 'print screen' button on your keypad, that will take a capture of your entire deskface, then you can edit it in a windowns image packagae or photoshop, to trim off the bits you dont need.GunGagdinMoan 15:57, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Have you got a source for Tanya's middle name being Marie? -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 17:16, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Molly Conlin

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Molly Conlin requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Matty4123 (TCA) 20:08, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Theo Kelly (EastEnders)

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Theo Kelly (EastEnders), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

No real-world notability, not established per WP:MOSFICT or WP:N. Character has only a few appereances in a long running show.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Proposed deletion of Roger Clarke (EastEnders)

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Roger Clarke (EastEnders), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

No real-world notability, not established per WP:MOSFICT or WP:N. Character appeared in only three episodes of a soap!

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Eastendersfreak! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 72 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Rebecca Egan - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Amy Darcy - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Deletion discussion about Debra Dean

[edit]

Hello, Eastendersfreak,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Debra Dean should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Debra Dean .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks,
