Fontanka Embankment moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Fontanka Embankment, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:

Belarus related business people article creation
[edit]Hi, ELindas I have started working on an article about businessmen from Belarus, after a brief research, I found that in the early years he has been connected with Viktor Prokopenya through Viaden Media. It's my first article so I'm looking for facilitation from more experienced authors who has relations to Belarusian businessman's articles to avoid doubt mistakes during creation. I'm going to create a new article at Special:Mypage/Nameofbusinessman so other editors can help me. So, what info should I provide you so you can check if you are interested to participate in it? User cruiser Ben (talk) 07:35, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
- Hi there! I think you'd better make a draft (in User:User cruiser Ben/Draft), this way it would be easier for other editors to read it. When I'll have time I'll also go and take a look! ELindas (talk) 15:17, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
- I prepared a draft User:User cruiser Ben/Ivan Montik, selected the most relevant sources. Those in which I doubt, I left in external links until I finish the work on the article. I am waiting for your feedback and facilitation.User cruiser Ben (talk) 09:34, 11 January 2022 (UTC)
- Hi again! I’ve looked through your draft! In my opinion, the reviewers might say that the section ‘Provably fair system in gaming‘ can be simply moved into the article about SoftSwiss, and that the section ‘Press and media freedom’ merely adds some facts to his biography, not really adding weight to notability. The main issue is with the sources. All that I see in References and External links, they are either Montik’s interviews, or briefly mention him. According to the Wiki rules, interviews of a person cannot be used as main sources of information. The reviewers will almost for sure recommend you to find independent articles, something fully dedicated to Montik and his business, not from the man himself. Unfortunately, only the fact that his company is notable is not enough.
- Thanks for your facilitation. Can you please show examples of fully dedicated-to-person articles, for example, Prokopenya? It will help me to understand chances to finish the article in this life xD User cruiser Ben (talk) 06:33, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
- Hi again! Sorry, took me some time xD You see, articles' volume and structure depend on the personality and its biography. It can't be long if a person hasn't lots of media coverage. As an example of an article I can recommend you Sequoia Capital, Don Valentine, or Douglas Leone. They are compact, but thorough and well-structured. Speaking about sources, you can refer to 1 & 2. If there are only interviews, one from a reliable respected publication might serve as well (like this).
- Thanks for your facilitation. Can you please show examples of fully dedicated-to-person articles, for example, Prokopenya? It will help me to understand chances to finish the article in this life xD User cruiser Ben (talk) 06:33, 20 January 2022 (UTC)

Some baklava for you!
[edit]Hi thanks for creating Church of the Immaculate Conception of Saint Virgin Mary (Babruysk). It’s a requirement of Wikipedia that when material is reused from one wiki to another, proper attribution is given for copyright reasons. If you’re translating material from another wiki you should state thus in your first edit summary. I can add a translation template to the article talk page if you can let me know what material you reused or translated. Many thanks Mccapra (talk) 08:05, 10 February 2022 (UTC) |
- Hi! Thank you for the information, will know! I've added the template {translated page to the article's Talk. However, in fact it has maybe two phrases from the text from ru-wiki, all I've written is from the source articles about the church.--ELindas (talk) 16:38, 11 February 2022 (UTC)
Edits on Chanel article
[edit]Hello! I see you have made some recent edits to the Chanel page. Would you be able to help me make some factual changes due to a COI?
I have put the request in the Talk section. Their HQ has moved from France to London and this is showing incorrectly in the infobox. Let me know if that is possible to correct? Thanks in advance. Occasionalpedestrian (talk) 15:27, 23 March 2022 (UTC)

- Thank you so much ELindas for correcting Chanel's HQ location and adding the two extra sources. Are you also able to help make two more factual corrections in the infobox? Leena Nair should be called Global CEO, and the industry should be changed to Luxury Goods which would align this article with that of Dior. Hoping this is an easy change and many thanks in advance. - Thanks for this! Can you help explain one more thing if there a reason why we can't change the industry to Luxury goods? I know it is referenced as Packaged goods on Forbes and that is being listed as a source, however Forbes only have limited categories to list industries and this is the closest they have but still inaccurate for Chanel. Is this possible to change or do we need to find a different source? Occasionalpedestrian (talk) 10:53, 5 April 2022 (UTC)

Shortened footnote references
[edit]Hey ELindas, this is just a quick note to let you know that if you're using the default formatting for short references with the {{harv}} / {{sfn}} family of templates then you don't need to set a |ref=
parameter in the long-form bibliographic entry. Indeed, doing so will stop the link from the shortened reference and the long-form bibliographic entry working (unless you set it to be equal to the default value). I think the the behaviour on ruwiki is different (based on references that I've transferred over). I've fixed a handful of references in articles you edited today by deleting the |ref=
parameter. If you're working a lot with shortened references then the script here is extremely useful: it highlights any no-target errors (generated when a shortened reference doesn't link to a source). If any of this didn't make sense please let me know and I will attempt to write a more comprehensive explanation. Best wishes, Wham2001 (talk) 17:40, 27 December 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, Wham2001! Thank you for your explanation! Indeed, ruwiki functions a bit different and I was using the template as I used to do there, now I see it's incorrect...—ELindas (talk) 11:46, 28 December 2022 (UTC)
Redirect of Elizaveta_Glinka to Elizabeth Glinka adding plot of Doctor Lisa

I need a plot summary that meets the draconian rules of Wikipedia. Here is what I have written thus far:
- The plot is of one day in the life of Elizabeth Glinka who is the head of Fair Care Foundation in Moscow in 2012. As the day starts, Elizabeth and her husband Gleb Glebovich Glinka are going to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary. Elizabeth is waiting for her three sons and close friends to arrive.
- Before the party, the last thing she needs to do is drop by Moscow Paveletsky Railway Station to check on weekly patients at the Fair Care fund and to send humanitarian supplies to people in need.
- At the clinic, a man calls Doctor Lisa. In a hospital in the Moscow suburbs his five-year-old girl, Eva, who is dying. The doctor on duty has to discharge Eva. Due to medical formalities the child, who suffers from cancer, is left without painkillers. Doctor Lisa agrees to help.
My Russian is bad so it is difficult for me to write a proper plot summary on Doctor Lisa. Thanks in advance. Metro2fsb (talk) 05:29, 10 January 2023 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, it's not clear to me, what assistance do you need?.—ELindas (talk) 19:35, 10 January 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did at Mass media in Belarus, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Dl2000 (talk) 22:41, 12 March 2024 (UTC)
- Dl2000, I disagree. If you carefully study my version and the original text, you will see that previously in the article half of the facts were unreferenced, the info was outdated. In the long lists of TV channels and radio stations many were not ref-ed at all or the links are dead now. Some paragraphs even do not have full stops at the end of sentences. Mostly the information in the old text is outdated for a decade. In my version, I have kept all the important information. It seems shorter because I've reduced repetitions, optimised the division by sections. My text is well-referenced and confirmed with quality, recent sources. ELindas (talk) 11:15, 13 March 2024 (UTC)
- While removal of unreferenced material and cleanup is valuable, your major edits after this version included some deletions which need some justification e.g. citations 3 (Volha Siakhovich) and 4 (Michael Harris) had refs and live or archived links, and seem to be relevant to the subject. This suggests there may have been some other debatable changes made among the many edits. Many of the changes may be worth reintroducing as you now suggest, but next time with better justification of what is removed, and if necessary discussion on the article's talk page. Dl2000 (talk) 02:46, 14 March 2024 (UTC)
- I've followed your advice, worked on the article a bit more, and published on the Talk page a full explanation of all edits. Check it out. — ELindas (talk) 19:46, 19 March 2024 (UTC)
