[edit]Hi EBY3221,
Thanks for your timely review and response.
As per your suggestions I have made the following changes on the page:
1. Citation - 7 new citation including citations from leading newspapers like Times of India (Owned Bennett & Coleman). 2. Increased Content in Introduction 3. Images are cropped according to specifications 4. Right side column information updated
Also I have a large database of Hard copy of articles in leading newspapers and magazines, is there anyway I could submit them as well?
I would be glad if you could review the page and let me know of any other changes that has to be done before submission. Link : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Yash_Aradhya

Ronnie Dell
[edit]I edited the Ronnie Dell entry with facetious stuff because I am convinced he exists only fictionally in the play/film "Grease." I'll leave it to wiki wonks to make a "constructive" correction. The contents of the Ronnie Dell entry are absurd. The cited references do not exist. I abdicate my self-appointed duty to protest nonsense with more over-the-top nonsense. Thank you for being serious about keeping Wikipedia serious. (I mean that without sarcasm; writing cannot carry my true tone.) I value Wikipedia as a resource. Thanks again.
Alleging Content to be Tendentious
[edit]I am certain your recent post to my talk page was not intended to express a certain amount of hubris on your part, so I'll presume you mean this with all good intentions. Kindly focus your constructive edits, not the long history we've had with going back and forth on deletions of my work. I'm open to hearing an opinion, I don't assert or presume ownership of any Wikipedia page. That's a comment out of left field. I'll restore the content and provide appropriate citation as you've got a real stickler on this subject of my work and for some reason you're focused on removing all the hard work that I do. Why? I don't know. I will presume there is some reason or agenda that I'm unaware of...but in the meantime, please know that I am within my rights as you are to post content and edit it.

[edit]I deleted your citation that referenced a self-published book because I don't believe that it qualified as a reliable source. [I'm about to raise the question at WP:citing sources talk page.
However I also wrote 'possible conflict of interest' which, given your editing history, is most unlikely. Therefore I withdraw and apologise for that remark. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 23:29, 12 November 2014 (UTC)

EBY (talk) 22:08, 15 November 2014 (UTC)Copyright checks when performing AfC reviews
[edit]Hello EBY3221. This message is part of a mass mailing to people who appear active in reviewing articles for creation submissions. First of all, thank you for taking part in this important work! I'm sorry this message is a form letter – it really was the only way I could think of to covey the issue economically. Of course, this also means that I have not looked to see whether the matter is applicable to you in particular.
The issue is in rather large numbers of copyright violations ("copyvios") making their way through AfC reviews without being detected (even when easy to check, and even when hallmarks of copyvios in the text that should have invited a check, were glaring). A second issue is the correct method of dealing with them when discovered.
If you don't do so already, I'd like to ask for your to help with this problem by taking on the practice of performing a copyvio check as the first step in any AfC review. The most basic method is to simply copy a unique but small portion of text from the draft body and run it through a search engine in quotation marks. Trying this from two different paragraphs is recommended. (If you have any question about whether the text was copied from the draft, rather than the other way around (a "backwards copyvio"), the Wayback Machine is very useful for sussing that out.)
If you do find a copyright violation, please do not decline the draft on that basis. Copyright violations need to be dealt with immediately as they may harm those whose content is being used and expose Wikipedia to potential legal liability. If the draft is substantially a copyvio, and there's no non-infringing version to revert to, please mark the page for speedy deletion right away using {{db-g12|url=URL of source}}. If there is an assertion of permission, please replace the draft article's content with {{subst:copyvio|url=URL of source}}.
Some of the more obvious indicia of a copyvio are use of the first person ("we/our/us..."), phrases like "this site", or apparent artifacts of content written for somewhere else ("top", "go to top", "next page", "click here", use of smartquotes, etc.); inappropriate tone of voice, such as an overly informal tone or a very slanted marketing voice with weasel words; including intellectual property symbols (™,®); and blocks of text being added all at once in a finished form with no misspellings or other errors.
I hope this message finds you well and thanks again you for your efforts in this area. Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 02:20, 18 November 2014 (UTC).

Thank you so much for writing back EBY. Fact is, the profile being created is different from the creator(being me), which I realised too late it will appear as conflict of interest. I went with the name of the profile to avoid confusion when its eventually approved. I am new at writing profiles on wiki and probably have not sufficiently mastered the art. I am learning from this experience and hope to become an editor as well(thanks for sharing the link to editing other pages).

[edit]Hello,
Just would like some more clarification about why you have flagged the post for deletion. I have been over the 'Biographies of living people' section, and purposely left out most personal information regarding Dr. Watling. The information I have provided has mostly (22/25 references) been edited and published in peer review scientific journals.

Deletions
[edit]Hi EBY, I'm a little concerned that you might be moving too quickly with your deletion nominations, and making some errors in the process. For example, Division of Afghanistan isn't a great article, but it doesn't qualify as A1 - that criterion is specifically limited to cases where you can't tell what the article is about, which wasn't the case here. Similarly, Milly Shapiro was a poorly sourced BLP, but it wasn't spam - indeed, most actor bios we have begin with some variation on "X is an actor best known for the role Y". I would also question some of your AFD nominations. Could you reconsider your approach to deletion tagging, and review the associated criteria? Thanks, Nikkimaria (talk) 16:28, 21 November 2014 (UTC)
- Nikkimaria - Thanks for the note. I will say that those actor articles, when they went live, were not sourced and neither actor is over 10 years old. The same new editor made a few of those all at once, it certainly looked like a pattern that overcame WP:AGF. The other article is (a) an essay about (b) something that is not real. There is no current plan within the country to split the country into further divisions. I will nominate it for deletion again unless a source that backs up the claim is submitted. And, frankly, if there is such a plan it then information about it probably should start as part of the TWO current Wikipedia articles about the Subdivisions of Afghanistan and the Provinces of Afghanistan. We disagree what meets criteria, and I can certainly do better at understanding what fits in what boxes, but I appreciate you saying so civilly.EBY (talk) 21:37, 21 November 2014 (UTC)
- I think you could make cogent arguments to delete both articles, actually, but the arguments you chose were not the right ones, and probably the way to do that would be either PROD or AFD rather than CSD. That being said, the potential division of Afghanistan is discussed in the literature - see for example this source - so I wouldn't say it isn't real, even if it doesn't end up happening and even if it doesn't merit an independent article at this time. Cheers, Nikkimaria (talk) 00:42, 22 November 2014 (UTC)
- Nikkimaria Nope. There is no current plan to further divide Afghanistan, as the essay tense presumes. 2 years ago, some countries pitched some ideas but none on the basis of language. So it is an essay of an article that asserts, with tense, something not true and contains, outright, unsourced and untrue information. I looked at each of those sources before hitting delete and found the essay, as written, to be not only false but possibly politically inflammatory. Not sure if it was original thought, opinion, soapbox, or hoax - definitely WP:FORUM. If the situations were reversed and there was an essay put into Wikipedia article space stating that England was possibly being newly subdivided based on what kind of accent was spoken, based on an Afghani opinion piece from two years ago, how long would that survive? AfD instead of speedily delete, sure. This article? Nope. EBY (talk) 01:04, 22 November 2014 (UTC)
- As I said, I think an argument other than A1 could support deletion. By the way, [[Ping|Nikkimaria]] will not result in a notification; try {{ping|Nikkimaria}}. Cheers, Nikkimaria (talk) 16:24, 22 November 2014 (UTC)
- Bah. I long ago lamented that errors don't pay. I'd be rich if they did for the amount of times I've inverted brackets, spaces, pipes, colons, etc. I'm old school, type everything longhand and still make the same errors 8 years in. There have to be dinosaurs, so here I am. EBY (talk) 16:31, 22 November 2014 (UTC)

[edit]I see you have made several entirely valid comments when reviewing drafts, but have not declined the drafts. There is, of course, nothing wrong with this, since it leaves the draft in place in the queue. However, several days later there has been no action by the author.
If we did not have so many old drafts and a backlog I would be in 100% agreement with your approach. Since we have a backlog, may I suggest you consider a more rigid approach and decline those which really do not pass muster, leaving only the borderline ones with a simple comment? Indeed, with the borderline ones, consider accepting them, flagging the deficiencies, and letting the community decide. Fiddle Faddle 11:22, 27 November 2014 (UTC)

Hello. I'm a novice at creating Wikipedia pages but I'm flummoxed as to why Michelle Anthony doesn't meet the threshold of notability necessary for inclusion in Wikipedia. I tried to be exhaustive with references in order to substantiate the content and am afraid that by referencing her content too often I may have given a less than neutral impression about the piece (and it's not entirely inaccurate, I'm a fan of her music).
I would ask you to reconsider this piece with any edits that would maintain the neutrality of the piece. As evidence of her notoriety, I submit that she collaborated with less notable artists and on less notable projects than are already included in Wikipedia, and in the most successful period of her career there was not as much online publishing as there is now. I've found additional links to critiques of her work that no longer exist, which aren't especially helpful in the context of a Wikipedia article but that substantiate her notoriety at the peak of her career.
Would you please help me to properly share this information despite my own shortcomings as a contributor? Jim Dougherty (talk) 06:42, 6 December 2014 (UTC)

I've noticed several articles on Wikipedia edited by cult adherents in ways that make the articles sound (at least in some parts) like what I would expect from their own literature rather than from reliable sources, but the more I look at these two articles the more it seems they are among the worst in that regard, with a group of editors (who are apparently members) slowly but continually "cleaning" them. Your thoughts? DrSocPsych (talk) 22:19, 12 December 2014 (UTC)

EBY (talk) 16:48, 12 January 2015 (UTC)Hello. I did some editing of the above article on the Draft page and then, because I thought it was ready to go, I copied it into article space. I'm sorry if this was not the correct way to handle this, but I figured we might as well get the piece out in the open where others can take a look at it. Hope this is OK and that I did not mess up the system too much. Sincerely, GeorgeLouis (talk) 22:55, 14 January 2015 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:EReleases Logo.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:EReleases Logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 23:35, 22 January 2015 (UTC)

Archived unresolved discussion?
[edit]Hi EBY3221. I hate to be a pest, but I noticed that LowercaseSigmabot archived the Friedrich Goldmann dispute without formal closure. Your decision looked very final to me, but Planetdust never responded, and I am unsure how to proceed without his further cooperation. If I were to simply go ahead and restore the information to the article on my own and Planetdust just reverted my edit again, what should be my course of action? Take him to the Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents, or is there a less drastic alternative?—Jerome Kohl (talk) 04:47, 25 January 2015 (UTC)

Non-free rationale for File:EReleases Logo.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:EReleases Logo.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 19:16, 20 March 2015 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, EBY3221,
The Editing team is asking for your help with VisualEditor. I am contacting you because you were one of the very first testers of VisualEditor, back in 2012 or early 2013. Please tell them what they need to change to make VisualEditor work better for you. The team has a list of top-priority problems, but they also want to hear about small problems. These problems may make editing less fun, take too much of your time, or be as annoying as a paper cut. The Editing team wants to hear about and try to fix these small things, too.

See comments under edit. We suggest that an editor (preferably with ability to understand German and Italian) should do what was suggested: click on references. They are very well known and independent sources. The information is verifiable and reliable. The article should then be accepted or deleted.
