I have an SVG of my NY subway map but it doesn't work very well on Wikipedia

I can upload my SVG, but the fonts break, and I don't want to have to re-optimize everything for a different font. CountZ (talk) 13:12, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

EDIT:

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Drexel logo.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:Drexel logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:11, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

If the subject of the article is already covered elsewhere, you can redirect the page without intervention of AFD. I don't see why deletion would be better than redirecting. Can you explain or consider changing your nomination to support a redirect? - Mgm|(talk) 10:08, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

Vertigo (song)

Your recent move here "broke" all these links:

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:WhatLinksHere/Vertigo_(song)&limit=500

I'm not sure it's worth changing. What is the advantage? If they enter Vertigo, they will get to the dab page and will find either song. Who would enter "Vertigo (song)" ? (John User:Jwy talk) 00:20, 19 December 2008 (UTC)

Yeah I know I broke all the links, but I just wanted to standardize the titles since there's another article with the same name. I'm planning on fixing the rest of the links later tonight with WP:AutoWikiBrowser. –Dream out loud (talk) 03:30, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
Still seemed to be too much work, but okay. We should delete Vertigo (song)? (John User:Jwy talk) 05:45, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
It really wasn't too much work since I used AutoWikiBrowser. It only took about 5 mins or so. Doing it manually would have been ridiculous. But I think Vertigo (song) should remain as a redirect, so anyone searching for that title will be redirected to the disambig page. –Dream out loud (talk) 06:22, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
I just don't see anyone trying "Vertigo (song)" before "Vertigo." But I leave it to you. (John User:Jwy talk) 06:48, 19 December 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for your uploads. You've indicated that the following images are being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why they meet Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page an image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Disputed non-free use rationale for Image:U2celeb fr.jpg

Thank you for uploading Image:U2celeb fr.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Peripitus (Talk) 12:05, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Hello Dream Out Loud, you uploaded the picture File:Wandervogel greif.svg in 2007. Can you tell me why it is in the public domain? Its creator only died in 1964. Glatisant 15 January 2009 —Preceding undated comment was added at 10:27, 15 January 2009 (UTC).

I simply created the image based on File:Wandervogel greif.gif and copied the licensing info from that page. If it is incorrect then contact User:Haiduc. –Dream out loud (talk) 06:10, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

I agree that there are a hell of a lot of quotes, but they were imperative at the time of an AfD to show that this particular film had its own unique notability seperate from all the other various articles on the play Rent and its subsequent films and albums. How does one best remove the overage without placing the article once more in dire risk of deletion? Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 21:02, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

In addressing your concerns, I did a slight format correction to the tagged reception section and moved most of the quotes as shorter and more concise versions to the area below external links. If this has not improved the article, please let me know and I will go at it again. Thank you, Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 22:25, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

Hello there I am writing up the GA review on [Atlantic City–Brigantine Connector]] to which you also contributed. Could you help me with a second opinion on the query "Is it broad in coverage" In your humble opinion is it aye or nay? and if nay why? Thank you kind regards SriMesh | talk 03:09, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

According to WP:GA?, that question refers to that the the article (a) addresses the main aspects of the topic; and(b) stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail. I would have to say that both requirements are filled. However on another note, there is still a lot of info that can be added to the article about construction, controversy, etc. I'm willing to help expand the article even more if I find another editor such as yourself who may be willing as well. –Dream out loud (talk) 22:27, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

SEPTA Route 100 route template

Why did you switch the directions of the SEPTA Route 100 S-line/route templates? ----DanTD (talk) 12:51, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

I switched it because Route 100 runs north-south and all lines that do so should begin with the southern terminus on the left, and the northern terminus on the right. On the same token, east-west lines begin with the western terminus on the left, and the eastern terminus on the right. It's a standard that is stated on one of the transport-related WikiProjects, but I couldn't seem to find exactly which one. If I come across it, I'll send you a link for reference. –Dream out loud (talk) 19:32, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

Your nomination for speedy deletion

I've just submitted the page and it wasn't but a minute later and you already are nominating this page for deletion? Don't you need to read why this subject is important first? I sincerely disagree with your objection, please discuss why you feel the subject dosn't meet WP:MUSIC at his talk page and I will try my best to answer your concerns. I did some research on this subject prior to making this bio. Thanks and again I appreciate your concerns. Jrod2 (talk) 19:57, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

I respect the labor you provide to our Wikipedia encyclopedia, you are the first line of defense to prevent vandalism , but haven't you ignored a bit some good links on that Edward article? I am sorry that you feel the article bio was not put together with sufficient links. Did you try checking some of the wiki links? I am just shocked that you find the article not well referenced. Thanks you. Jrod2 (talk) 22:30, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

You placed a tag stating "This page may meet Wikipedia’s criteria for speedy deletion. It was previously deleted via a deletion discussion, is substantially identical to the deleted version, and any changes do not address the reasons for which the material was deleted. See CSD G4." upon this article. If you're not an administrator, how do you know what the deleted version looked like? I've been familiar with the MediaWiki software on other wikis, and I know that unless you're a sysop you can't see the deleted versions.--What Wat? (talk) 19:19, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

Your edits to Zooropa (song)

They're absolutely phenomenal. I've been watching them as you've turned a short and unsourced article about a largely unknown song into what it is now. All I can say is well done, mate. MelicansMatkin (talk) 22:33, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

I agree, your edits have been a wondrous contribution to Zooropa. The quote "religion is the enemy of God" sounded like so many lyrics and banter between songs in concert. I had to find a source for it. My little contribution towards Zooropa being FA. Also, i'm sure you noticed it when you first heard it, the phrase "The soul needs beauty for a soul mate" is used in two songs (Always & A Man and a Woman). I don't suppose you can use your gifts and work that into an article. Cheers delirious & lostTALK 11:14, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

Add branch=closed to the parameters for the {{s-line}} template. –Dream out loud (talk) 18:56, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
Where? I tried numerous variations of that parameter in several places. ----DanTD (talk) 00:37, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
Another thing I've noticed is that the direction of the former segment of the R3 West Chester branch isn't very consistent. ----DanTD (talk) 12:30, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
Typically, adding branch=closed to the template should make it work, but after looking at it I realized its not set up for that. I can rewrite the templates to make it work, but it takes a while to do, so I'll do it when I get a chance since I am not online as much as I have been in the past. –Dream out loud (talk) 00:32, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

Thank you very very much for taking the time to give it a copyedit and fixing those issues. Are there any other edits you're planning on making to it? If not, I'll nominate it for FA. MelicansMatkin (talk, contributions) 19:29, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
It's looking better but I want to finish going through it some more. You may also want to put it up for peer review to avoid a failing FA-nom. –Dream out loud (talk) 02:25, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
Sure, there's plenty of time. I actually did put it up for peer review a short time ago, and it closed only yesterday. MelicansMatkin (talk, contributions) 13:12, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Alienq.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Alienq.jpg.

You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 21:54, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

Cite music release notes template

Please be aware that I reverted the changes you made on 24 July to {{Cite music release notes}}. Not because I disagree with the changes, but rather because you didn't bother to update the articles that already uses this template to reflect the new format (lowercase parameters). As indicated on the templates talk page, the template use in those article was broken. I kindly invite you to redo your changes and at the same time go through those articles and change the parameters to lowercase to preserve the integrity of Wikipedia. Thank you. – IbLeo (talk) 20:01, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Quotes

Hey, do you mind restoring this edit? The quotes are the only thing we currently have that can demonstrate how notable this event is. That policy is valid, but not in special situations like this. The quotes are necessary given the heightened exposure of the article being on the Main Page. Any questions are welcome at my talk page. Cheers, Master of Puppets - Call me MoP! :D 02:10, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Assistance requested

Hey Dream out loud, I know you're pretty good with {{Tracklist}}, so I have a question for you. I'm trying to convert this to the template, but all I'm ending up with is a string of gibberish. I can't figure out what it is I'm doing wrong, so would you mind checking to see how I've screwed it up? Cheers, MelicansMatkin (talk, contributions) 04:08, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

Very simple mistake — you forgot to put end brackets (]]) on one of the links, which screwed up all the syntax. That error could happen in any template. –Dream out loud (talk) 04:55, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
Ah crap, I don't know how I missed that. Thanks for fixing it! MelicansMatkin (talk, contributions) 19:36, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

Benham Rise

I noticed your comments but could you please clarify them. If you check the number of characters. It was expanded more than the number you placed there.--23prootie (talk) 15:46, 14 September 2009 (UTC)

Son of Ingagi

Hi! Thanks for nominating my article for Son of Ingagi for DYK. I was looking through and found on my own research that Son of Ingagi might not have been the first all black horror film, as the film Pocomania might have beaten it to the punch. I re-phrased the lead in the Son of Ingagi article and I suggest it changes for the DYK nomination as well. Cheers! Andrzejbanas (talk) 12:28, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

SEPTA Route redirects

Hello! The redirects SEPTA Route 121 and SEPTA Route 124 that you created two years ago are broken; their targeted section is nonextant and the route number is not currently mentioned in the article (other than a note in the table under route 44 stating that its extension has replaced Route 121 -- although there is no mention of that in SEPTA Route 44 which states that it provides connection to both 121 and 124). How do you want to fix these? If you'd like them deleted, know that you can do so via WP:CSD#G7 (author requests deletion) by placing a {{db-author}} on the redirect page. -- ToET 01:17, 27 September 2009 (UTC)

Hey, thanks. I see you retargeted them to the SEPTA Suburban Division bus routes page, but SEPTA Route 121 is still broken. -- ToET 04:14, 27 September 2009 (UTC)
That looks good. Thanks. -- ToET 06:06, 27 September 2009 (UTC)
