[edit]Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. When you make a change to an article, please provide an edit summary, which you forgot to do before saving your recent edit to Hull City A.F.C.. Doing so helps everyone to understand the intention of your edit. It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you. Northumbrian (talk) 16:32, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
Current staff table in the Hull City article
[edit]Hi Dowietiger,
I reverted your edits yesterday because they deleted references used elsewhere in the article. I also did so just now; however, I will go back and check your latest efforts; if they don't remove references this time, I'll re-add them, as I think the new table format does improve the appearance of the article.
As I mentioned above yesterday, as a courtesy to other editors, please start using the edit summary; it is extremely helpful to other editors, especially when viewing the article history page. Please also use the article discussion page to ask questions or voice concerns, instead of putting them directly in the article.
Thanks, Northumbrian (talk) 17:55, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
- I went ahead and looked at merging the current sourced information in the Current Staff section into the table format as you were attempting. If we were to do so, I think it best to leave everybody in the current list in place, as they're mostly backed up by the official website, which is the primary source for this section. However, for consistency, that would require finding and citing sources for the nationality of several persons not listed on the the official website, which might be quite a hassle, and likely isn't of as much encyclopaedic value as nationality is for players, manager, and coaches. I'd recommend leaving the current format of the bulleted list in place for now. Thanks, Northumbrian (talk) 18:23, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
Welcome message
[edit]I've added the welcome template at the top of your talk page; it's got a lot of good links to Wikipedia help, policies, and guidelines. Cheers, Northumbrian (talk) 19:38, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
Sources reminder
[edit]Hi Mate, just a reminder that adding/changing material in an article is just half the job; you need to provide your sources too. I've added a source for McGuire for you on the Hull City article, since the primary source (OWS) hasn't been updated for it yet, but it'd be helpful if you get in the habit of doing that yourself. Cheers, Northumbrian (talk) 18:20, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for the updates; Show preview and edit summary
[edit]Hi mate, thanks for updating the table for the Watford results, looks good.
One thing you might try when you're editing is using the preview button. You can make an edit, press the Show Preview button, and see how it looks before it's published. If it looks good, you can press Publish; if it needs more work, you can go right on editing until it's right, and then publish. That way, you get the edit right in one shot, rather than five or six separate edits showing up in the article's history page.
And again, using the edit summary is both useful and courteous. Cheers, Northumbrian (talk) 16:24, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
